It’s my hubby’s 40th bday weekend. We are going into DC for a kid free trip. I’m so excited! Getting a chiro adjustment today and hoping/praying my body cooperated for walking around/museums etc.
Random update: if anyone is looking for iron supplements but keeps throwing up, try the dehydrated beef organs! I’ve taken it on an empty stomach the past few days with no issues and I’m sensitive to iron supplements when not pregnant. They are a bit pricier than I would like, but tbh I’ll pay more if I can actually keep it down. Worth looking into if you have low iron or have become anemic. This is the one I’m using (off Amazon)
So after the debacle this past week, I’ve seen another 7 showings since Monday. Put in an offer on another home last night. In a bidding war with other multiple offers. Won’t know anything until late Monday. I’m just tired at this point. I’d kindof just like to go live in a hotel suite where I didn’t have to clean anything or pack any junk or move any furniture or worry about one more damn thing. How very Gossip Girl of me 😂
LOL being a homeowner is a joke. Our kitchen sink hasn’t been working properly for a while and we finally had someone out today to look at it / quote us for a fix. It’s basically completely blocked wherever it drains but the drain is under our driveway so they’d have to Jackhammer the driveway up to fix/replace whatever needs to be. They just quoted us 13k 😐 I don’t know if that includes replacing the driveway, but I doubt it. We had a major plumbing issue at our old house that was around the same price and put us into debt because my car got totaled like 2 weeks before that. I hate plumbing. At least we have an actual savings account now…but I don’t think this kid is going to get anything purchased for her. I guess she can just be in a PNP her entire life lol
We went to a huge consignment sale today (like seriously…it’s massive. It’s held at the state fair grounds livestock building and it takes up the entire thing). This is day 2 of the sale so I knew things would be somewhat picked over, but there is typically still a lot of good choices on baby gear. Not this year apparently. I talked with some workers and this was their biggest sale day in like 8 years. Someone said there was a line wrapped around the building to the back of the parking lot at opening - something like a quarter of a mile long, so they got cleaned out of gear today. At least we got some clothes for this summer for the big kids!
@MrsLaLaBug Wow! So many showings! We moved a year ago and were lucky to see 2 showings in a week because there wasn't much available. Living in a hotel sounds like a dream when you're in the thick of it. You'll find something great soon! Fingers crossed that the house you put an offer on it goes through.
@skc040512 We went to a huge consignment sale at at fairground this weekend too! (You wouldn’t happen to be talking about Twice is Nice in northwest Georgia?) We got tons of clothes but we’re really looking for a crib and some other big items that weren’t there. We got a few toys, but mostly clothes. I’m lucky my mom came with us because she was able to help us guess what sizes we would need when. We got some winter stuff in the 6-9 month range but mostly steered clear of newborn clothes because she said we would get a ton of that size at the showers. I’m just finishing the washing for all these little clothes and I’m just giddy at how awesome it’ll be to have a baby!
