We tried a different pizza place tonight and it was such a disappointment. And I love pizza and will eat it from just about anywhere so it must have been real bad.
I made a takeout fake out general’s tofu with green beans tonight that was soooooo good. I’m sad there are no leftovers. Also question, when does the meat aversion end, I can’t remember from last time? I am running out of vegetarian recipes that my husband will eat…
@maggiemadeit my meat aversion comes and goes it seems like. Biggest aversion I’ve had so far is to the smell of butter! It was actually my first symptom and even still sometimes I can’t eat buttered toast or a bagel
@maggiemadeit mine also seems to be coming and going at this point (11weeks) but held on strong from 7-10 weeks. I don’t think I ate meat more than a handful of times.
@wigglyicecream Nice. I have been eating basically nothing for weeks. Felt better yesterday, and I ordered a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich. It tasted like it fell from heaven.
@lmaplejc I also got Popeyes yesterday bc I got it in my head about the fires then needed spicy chicken. +1 to it tasting like it fell from heaven lol.
@lmaplejc@wigglyicecream Is Popeyes any good? I've never had it before, because it's literally two doors down from the KFC and every time we want fried chicken carryout we just get KFC.
@wisewitch222 it is but if I had a reliable close KFC I would pick it over Popeyes’s bc that’s what I grew up on. But the other one we have is kind of gross and further away. Popeyes is definitely has more spice to it
I'm so jealous of all your fried chicken faves! I recently found out I have a gluten sensitivity so it's always grilled whenever I go anywhere anymore. I do make my own at home with gluten free breadcrumbs and flour. It's just not the same. Does anyone remember the Adam Sandler movie "Little Nicky"? "Popeye's chicken is the shiznit..." that's all I can ever think of when I hear it mentioned.
@bridgiebee82 I have celiacs and I find that I sometimes crave things that I can’t actually eat. So weird. I’m also getting frustrated at times that I can’t easily satisfy cravings. If I want generals tofu I can’t just call for Chinese. I have to find a recipe, buy the things, and then cook it for myself. Annoying.
Now that I just typed this I realize maybe it belonged in the venting thread 😂
@wisewitch222 I love KFC for fried chicken. Popeye’s is just totally different to me and I eat their chicken strips. Their sweet tea is pretty good if I can’t get Chick-fil-A or Bojangles. Sadly there’s no Bojangles on this side of the Mississippi
in other news I had Chick-fil-A for breakfast with a Krispy Kreme doughnut because my nausea meds were partially filled. I’m supposed to be able to get the rest of the prescription Monday ((fingers crossed)). I made a bagel at home and order egg and a chicken fillet and made my own sandwich. Perfecto.
@itsme215 that is excellent news but they went to FL a few years ago and then they all closed so I am not going to get too excited yet. Lol. Either way, I don’t think they are coming to the western desert where I live anytime soon. Just hoping to move back to the land of Bojangles some day soonish.
@bridgiebee82 those are my usual go to for breakfast there. I love them so much but today I had a different craving. I feel kind of bad since I’m on west coast time and I inadvertently may have started some cravings that have to wait until Monday now. Lol
@and_peggy all this talk of pickled things made me want some pickles. I had DH open a new jar and promptly ate 5 kosher dill spears. And then drank some of the juice! Yum!
@wigglyicecream I'm a whiskey girl so this is right up my alley. I used to do those shots all the time. @paytonpedro I asked MH if he cared if I drank it and he told me no as long as I left some for the pickles! @maggiemadeit I'm a straight up kosher dill kinda gal. I don't like bread and butter pickles at all. Just gimme the dill!
I haven’t been having cravings, but have been able to eat a little more of what I want while on Zofran.
Sandwiches have been sounding good, so last week I had a subway sandwich with chicken, and today we’re making BLTs on Potato bread for dinner.
I placed a Walmart pickup order and it included 3 two-packs of doughnuts so my husband and I would each get 3 to eat over the next few days.. WELL they didn’t have certain flavors so the substituted and some in bigger boxes so we ended up with EIGHTEEN doughnuts!🤣 It made the ice cream, muffins, and cookies seem like an unnecessary part of our order…😬 Also I don’t feel great if I have much sugar at once so it’ll be spaced!😅
I made spicy peanut noodles tonight, they were super good! I can basically only eat carbs but the peanut butter made me feel like I was getting a little bit of fat/protein too.
I think I'd would be happiest if all I ate was fruit and and pasta. Every fruit is delicious right now and in the last 2 weeks I've made homeade mac and cheese, had spaghetti, chicken marsala and am currently making a veggie pasta dish.
Re: Popeyes The only Popeyes in town closed about a year ago. It wasn't very good though. I'm not a fan of Chick-fil-A, always find their stuff disappointing. But I do like a Freddy's crispy chicken sandwich. Best I've ever had. For a cheap-o version I love Wendy's dollar menu chicken sammie. Great. Now I want one.
Been eating anything sour, vinegary, or fruity. I really wanted this specific pasta the other night from our favorite takeout place but...they were all out!
Plain noodles, crackers, and applesauce is all I can stomach currently. I can't wait until the morning sickness and food aversions go away. Does anyone have any tips for when you feel queasy even thinking about food?
@jlhopper my doctor recommended eating small meals or snacking throughout the day so your stomach is never empty. It’s easier said than done. Definitely just eat whatever you can, whenever you can. I hope the nausea ends soon for you!!
Today I had an over medium egg with Italian toast. It’s normally one of my very favorite breakfasts but I was apprehensive because eggs have been unappetizing to me. But it was delightful 😄

@wisewitch222 I like Popeyes the best, definitely give it a try. But everyone has their favorite.

@mdfarmchick bojangles is expanding!! We’re supposed to be getting one by us soon and we’re west of the MS!
It’s 10:15 at night and I want a fried chicken sandwich from every place mentioned. Yum.

I just ate way too much chili way too fast, hope I don’t regret that later tonight but it was so good.
