@thewaxwing for me I eat whatever sounds appetizing even if it’s weird. And I stock peanut butter crackers everywhere—my nightstand, purse, next to the couch. Ha. Peanut butter crackers help me stave off the nausea. And bananas are usually a food I can stomach.
I went to my nephews birthday party, my sister had it catered and I ate all the carbs! Stuffed shells, tortellini salad, chicken parm… it’s was delightful! I think my nausea has FINALLY subsided and it was so good to be hungry and enjoy eating again!
@jlhopper For me it was sometimes helpful to drink some water with a half or quarter of a lemon squeezed in it and ice. It helped me feel a little refreshed when I was rarely feeling that. It helped me feel less gaggy. Sometimes I would have trouble just getting the food into my mouth but then it’d make me feel better. Ritz crackers were one of the few crackers I enjoyed. Mashed potatoes and Ramen were a go to. Sometimes a fruit or melon can help because it’s more refreshing. Kiwi, watermelon, and bananas are all high in potassium. Strawberries helped me feel refreshed as well (although it’ll be awhile before I will enjoy them again because I was getting sick a lot the week I had them on hand and that’s the flavor of my Zofran..) A homemade smoothie can be nice. It really is a struggle. Even at almost 9 Weeks, I have trouble being the right amount of full/empty. My tummy isn’t as acidic as it was though. Best of luck to you! It won’t last, but it sure makes the time drag!
All that talk of fried chicken sandwiches made me order one on Sunday afternoon. It was delicious but a huge serving. I've been known to overdo it when it comes to portions, but I'm seeing that I have to teach myself to eat smaller servings. Nowadays, my body just can't handle a big meal. In theory it's nice, but then I just end up regretting it and needing Metamucil (TMI).
I’m thinking about trying coffee again now that most of my nausea has passed. It still doesn’t sound like something I have to have… so maybe I should just hold off? I could definitely use the caffeine though lol
@paytonpedro I wish you all the luck. I have a pretty serious coffee aversion every time I’m pregnant and it does not ease up until I give birth. I am very sad about it.
I came to a stopping point with work and went to the kitchen to make a smoothie. I was really excited about it. Sadly, my husband started the dishwasher before he left earlier and the blade thingy for the smoothie cups is in there 😭 so now I have to wait and our dishwasher is so slow. Hmph.
Yes, I could use the regular blender but I hate washing that thing out. The single serve ones are way better.
@itsme215 I totally understand that. I have a favorite pan I use to make eggs in the morning and if it's dirty I have zero motivation to make breakfast.
Talking about eggs! Had eggs on avocado toast this morning. It was good!! But I couldn't finish in time for my appointment. Sad. Had to scarf as much as I could. The last few days I've been wanting chocolate fudgy cake so I got some hostess chocolate zingers from the store and they definitely hit the spot!
@mdfarmchick I definitely drank coffee all through my second pregnancy. I guess with my first I just didn’t “need” it yet? 🤣 Because I don’t remember caring either way.
@paytonpedro coffee definitely hits different after the first kid is around.
We had chicken and dumplings for dinner which was delicious, but the line between, “I’m still hungry” and “I am too full” is apparently very thin… bleh.
@mdfarmchick so, so true! Ugh. I’m also having a really hard time finding that line. I feel like it’s been taking me a lot less to feel like I’ve eaten an entire thanksgiving dinner.
@mdfarmchick@paytonpedro YES! I ate a totally normal meal for me yesterday for lunch and was literally miserable the entire rest of the work day 😩 it’s so hard to make myself stop though when I’m finally able to eat again!
I really want a baked potato from Wendy's. I don't know if ive ever even had one from there and I doubt its any good but right now its the only thing that sounds like I could tolerate it.
@Katek819 I was just googling those last night! I may have to get one on Friday.
Today, I'm eating this delightful lentil soup from the work cafe downstairs that I wasn't sure that I wanted (I'm still meh about most healthy/fresh type foods) but I decided to try it, and it is delicious and I'm really enjoying it right now.
@Katek819 when I was in HS my dad used to get those potatoes all the time, but I’d didn’t like potatoes then (weirdo lol), so I’ve never actually tried them! I’m actually shocked to hear they still have them and now that sounds delicious!!
Wendy's baked potatoes are seriously fantastic! I don't know why they're so good, they're just potatoes but I love them too.
Made a breakfast burrito today and could only eat half. Though I'm not nauseous anymore, whenever I start eating my body starts to reject it. It's incredibly frustrating.
I have an instant pot air fryer combo, which is cool, but you can't fit very much in there to air fry at a time. Lots of tiny batches. I don't think I'd try bacon in there. We bake that in the oven. But it sounds like it would be delicious air fried.
@maggiemadeit we just got a new stove that has an air fryer mode for the oven. Definitely trying baked potatoes in there! We do bacon in the oven anyway but I bet it's crispier on air fryer mode.
Because of Covid, the seating is limited in our cafeteria at work, so I've just been eating my usual salad for lunch at my desk. But some days my co-worker and I take a walk to the cafeteria just to catch up for a bit, even if we don't buy anything. Today I took my card with me, just in case something caught my eye, and they had a freshly made chicken, bacon, ranch personal pizza that was calling my name. So worth it!
Ok, so my dad tells me I’m crazy because I bake bacon in the oven but it’s just so much easier and less messy!! I didn’t really realize it was a thing! Lol.
I just ate two giant donuts. I haven't had any cravings until now. I hit ten weeks today and i no longer gag looking at melted cheese so i think I'm going in the right direction!
@paytonpedro your dad is crazy. We love bacon and sausage baked in the oven. And it’s easier because they just bake while we prep and make whatever is going with the meats.
@mdfarmchick I mean I agree with you 🤪 haha. But oh it’s just so easy and saves a spot on the stove, andddd you don’t have to babysit it. I hate frying bacon and will only cook it in the oven.
@hola_knotties donuts sound delicious! In both of my previous pregnancies I had dreams every night about donuts haha
I love Wendy’s Classic and Spicy crispy chicken sandwiches! And we just got a Wendy’s coupon in the mail! I may have to try subbing a baked potato for fries!😍
Subway has also been sounding good. On my last pickup order, they forgot to add the bacon that I paid an additional cost for, were out of the bread I wanted, and were out of multiple vegetables. I was so excited and even though it wasn’t bad, I was disappointed. Also I think they just changed their pepperjack cheese to American pepperjack. And I can’t stand American cheese. I definitely will be using the shredded Monterey from here on.
I have replaced the Beef Taquitos, with two boxes this time, so those have been nice.
I’m with you guys on finding the line of full and empty hard to distinguish. I’m nauseous either way, if I’m not precisely in the middle. I feel like I’m constantly making myself food because of all the tiny snacks I need, but also not having cravings or weight gain (which is fine.)
Wah. We were going to go for Mexican but mh is working late so we’re ordering Chinese instead. It doesn’t sound bad but I had my heart set on Mexican. Merp.
I’m all for baking bacon! When you bake it on foil it saves a mess! Also prevents the smoke alarm from going off and lets you bake more! Last Saturday we baked a pan full and used it all for BLTs!🤣
@paytonpedro@itsme215@aukeev I hope you all get Mexican food and burritos soon! It is hard when you have your heart set on something and it changes!
@starkette Still feeling bleh too. Zofran has been letting me have a wider variety, but I still feel bleh if I eat… or don’t.🙃
Update: I asked if my husband would be willing to drive over to get Wendy’s or Subway and he said he could (I think he felt bad that I was throwing up again today which made him more willing..) And I can verify that Wendy’s baked potato with chili and cheese is delicious! Since I had to take Lactaid for the cheese on it anyway I added sour cream too and had no regrets!😋

@paytonpedro @tmartin014
Also add me to the some how feel full to the brim when I eat a normal amount. ☹️

I'm not nauseous but feeling blah about food lately. Really want cravings to start!
