Re: January Symptoms

  • I cannot handle these pregnancy dreams. I get no peace anymore.
  • Loading the player...
  • @marionberry19 I get excited when I don't have crazy dreams. But yea, same, some days the dreams and wild and I'm over them.

I'm also not feeling all the 2nd trimester glow and energy. I thought I felt better for like a week or two, but I'm back to being exhausted and out of breath from everything. My skin is not the greatest and my hair is dull (even though supposedly with boys it's supposed to be the opposite, which I had with my son the first time around). I'm waiting for the glow to kick in before I become a whale in the 3rd trimester.

  • My pregnancy dreams are just starting. Last night I drempt I died and Betty white was welcoming me in a heavenly dining room. Her body was young like her first TV appearances and her face was Golden Girls area. She was so happy and gave a great big hug. I was so happy for her but started to panic because I knew I couldn't be there and if I died my baby would die and my husband would be broken. So I woke myself by gasping like a drowning person breaching the surface.
  • @marionberry19 the pregnancy dreams are unreal. Oof. They last all night long for me- even if I wake up and go back to sleep.

  • @bww_0331 I think I’m going to have a nervous breakdown because of them. I have constant dreams of my partner cheating on me or my mom calling me fat and gross. I am not concerned about him cheating whatsoever. and my mother is always encouraging me to gain weight not lose it so I’m not sure if I’m just feeling really insecure and this is my mind projecting but I’m at the point where I don’t want to sleep. I try to stay awake as long as I can so I don’t have it happen.
  • I desperately need relief from bloating and burping. Near as I can tell it isn’t specific to any food. It’s just hours and hours of burping and general feeling of awfulness after each meal  :s
  • Anyone else nearly vomit every time you brush your teeth? It’s worse in the morning but occasionally at night too. I switched to a different brand of toothpaste to see if it would help, but it didn’t. This was something I dealt with during my first pregnancy (this one is my second) 😩
  • @pinkdaisylove
    YEESSS!
    Me!
    Every.time!!
I gag until I can’t breathe & many times throw up. Why??? Does this happen? Lol. It happened with my 1st & 2nd too. It’s embarrassing & I don’t want my family to see me… or hear me.
  • @pinkdaisylove yep. Sigh. If I start puking I give up. So I’m just trying to brush for a shorter time period. Which is hit or miss but I figure it’s something. But I’m flossing more because that doesn’t bother me, so half win?
  • @pinkdaisylove, @babybump3coming, and @fluteling Me too. This is number 4 and I’ve had it happen with each, with three it’s the only time I actually threw up. Luckily (or maybe not haha) I went through a ton of orthodontic procedures growing up and they taught me how to deal with my already strong gag reflex so most of the time I can keep it under control.  Take a deep breath before you start, keep your head down and breath through your nose.  And if all else fails hope the mouth wash is enough! Lol
  • I might floss, use mouthwash, and brush without toothpaste. Helps me!
  • Still having hip pain this month, crazy acid reflux, and eating everything! I’ll take allllll of this over the first trimester symptoms!
  • I have so much pain, pressure, tension on my abdomen. It comes in waves. I imagine it’s because of my uterus growing and the ligaments stretching but sometimes it is really really painful. Like all I can do is curl up. Is this normal? It almost feels like period cramps. Maybe it’s gas but it’s pretty low like it’s my uterus. It hasn’t become overly concerning but it’s pretty bad! Thoughts?
  • @shoarmie99 My OB always says some pain/cramping down there is normal due to uterus stretching, but if it's bad I would call them to double check. Hope it's nothing!

@furmama2babymama same here. Hip pain can get pretty bad at night. I rotate sides but now find it's even worse on my right side. But yea, I'll take this over bad nausea.

@pinkdaisylove It's more when I take my pills than brushing my teeth. Baby needs their prenatals, but gagging is seriously deterring me from taking them! Grr!!

I'm getting a lot of achiness this past week in my uterus. I was able to calm it down by changing positions today, but we're definitely getting to the point where baby is going to be felt a lot more. Oh, and I have a bad cold and everytime I sneeze, I get a lovely jolt of RLP. Pregnancy is fun.

  • I’m peeing when I sneeze or cough 😩 and I didn’t have that in my last pregnancy or any time since. My doctor said it’s probably just the weight. Or age. Love it when then tell you that.
  • @fluteling google Bodyfit by Amy prenatal TA breathing.  Life saver!  I made it through the throw ups this weekend without peeing my pants!
  • @fluteling I asked my midwife about this at yesterday’s appointment and she said kegals will help with this. I need to start doing them too, because I also have this issue (and didn’t with #1).

Maybe TMI, anyone feel a massive amount of pressure in your butt after sex (normal, vanilla kind lol)? I’m 19 weeks and I can barely walk for half the day after it happens. I don’t have much desire in general but I feel bad completely denying my husband for the rest of this pregnancy. Maybe it’s a pelvic floor thing and the kegals will help with this too?
  • I have been obsessively doing kegel exercises worrying about incontinence.

I think the Pepcid is finally helping with my acid reflux 🙌 I was able to eat dinner last night without considering throwing it back up to stop the pain. The general congestion is driving me a bit crazy. Also already tired of having a tiny bladder and urgently needing to pee all the time lol.
  • My sickness is back. This suppressed immune system is just not cool. The doctor said if this antibiotic doesn’t kick it I may have to see a pulmonologist for lung-pregnancy complications.
    Cool cool cool.
  • Dr said I had a UTI, but I have no symptoms. I think I didn’t clean 3x like I was supposed to before giving a sample.

btw I take smarty pants prenatal gummies. They are the only ones that I can take without gagging. I’ve tried four other types of gummies and no way could I swallow a pill!:(
  • @fluteling Oh no! I’m sorry, keep us updated. Hope the antibiotics work.
  • @pinkdaisylove
Yes! Also vagina pressure & throbbing that reminds me of labor. I’m experiencing more cramps this pregnancy (3rd) but the after sex pain is super painful. It’ll last all day. My first thought was my body protecting the baby by tightening up. I was told it could mean an infection so … yah, gotta find out why & what to do. Never had it with the other pregnancies but 9 weeks of this & I need answers because I don’t think I can tolerate this pain. Hope it goes away for the both of us so we can enjoy sexy time again.

  • Update: I have Covid. Cool cool cool.
  • @fluteling NOOOOOO! Ugh sorry.  I hope you have a quick recovery.
  • @fluteling Shoot, I’m sorry 😞 Sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery.
  • @fluteling
I'm so sorry to hear that.  Take care of yourself and keep us updated!
  • Yes! I feel so bloated after eating even a small meal that I can barely move and yet an hour later I’m hungry!
  • @fluteling oh man, so sorry to hear that! Hope you're able to get lots of rest and recover from it quickly!

@fluteling I was in the same boat last week, hope you’re feeling better now. Also fun, I’ve developed incontinence when sneezing/coughing and I was sneezing a lot!

@binxybaby 100% same. Like I want to but our sexy time desire is nowhere to be found…super loving DH regardless but I wish I could fix this.

Otherwise I’ve been, like so many of you, super anxious. Some of it I think is regular pregnancy worries with an added layer of pandemic stress/uncertainty. My anxiety has been manifesting as hypochondria…like I get so wound up over symptoms and can’t put them in perspective. I have this constant, inquenchable thirst and metallic taste in my mouth…was definitely there before I got Covid but def worse now. I have these bean-sized lumps in each armpit (somewhat relieved it’s both not one), and tingling/sharp sometimes achy feeling in my left boob/chest. I’ve had since the start insomnia and constant lower body muscle soreness. I just moved across the country and finding it impossible to find a regular doctor, so am constantly making virtual walk-in appointments.

Sorry this is so long. Any mamas can relate?
  • I feel like a cranky balloon today....or like an overstuffed turkey.
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • The other day got shooting pain in my left leg. I have problems with sciatica, but hadn't had the lightning pain before.
  • I’m trying to gauge what level of exhaustion is enough to mention to my ob. This is the second week in a row that I’ve had a really hard time on Friday and spent all Saturday resting and recovering. Dr Google says I should have lots of energy right now (week 19). I’m still getting exercise and have a half way decent diet. Is fatigue one of those things that lingers for some women or should I ask my doctor about the potential for anemia?
  • @pinkkillersheep How’s your sleep? I’m pretty exhausted some days, but I have on and off again insomnia so it overlaps with the days I had a crap sleep the night before.
  • @pinkkillersheep I have energy until I don’t. I feel like I go go go until I crash hard. I still need a nap on the weekends to make to 10.  And if I’m not drinking enough I can feel like in my energy level, I feel weak.   It I think every woman and pregnancy is different.  With DD2 I had much less energy than with my other two pregnancies.  But maybe talk to your doctor cause it could be anemia or gestational diabetes?
  • @katcee1979 I’d say I’m reliably around seven hours a night. Just knowing my pre-pregnancy body I probably need eight plus but it’s been hard to fall asleep lately.
@KFrob I’ll have to pay attention for a correlation between water intake and energy. I’ve gotten better but I’m not quite to my water goal yet.
I appreciate the feedback from you both! It feels so confusing to try and discern what is “normal” (almost everything) and what is a potential warning sign of a problem.
