I forgot how much my hips start to hurt/get sore during pregnancy. We went to the zoo this weekend and only walked around for a few hours. Holly hell it felt like I ran a marathon! Luckily it doesn't last too long but I really have to start watching myself.

@stardustskies I have the nasal spray but I'm not sure I'm using it right lol. I do have some Claritin. I'll have to see if that helps

I'm the complete opposite. I don't really have allergy issues while pregnant, but my allergies went completely bonkers after DS was born. I went from allergies to a handful of spring pollens to being allergic to essentially the environment in general, year round. The first year of DS's life I had something like 7 or 8 allergy-induced sinus infections and felt sick more often than I felt well. Thank goodness that was pre-COVID, and I got my allergies diagnosed and (mostly) under control right before COVID really set in, or I would have been in eternal quarantine!
I hope you feel better soon! Check with your doctor, but IIRC most OTC allergy meds are safe for pregnancy. They normally take a few weeks of consistent daily use to reach peak efficacy. Some other things that help me are:
- High quality (MERV-13 or up) HVAC filters - Sweeping/ vacuuming frequently (or better yet, having someone else do it so you don't have to deal with the dust kicked up in the process) - laundry additives (like De-Mite) that kill dust mites on bedding, clothes, etc. - If you have pets, there are pet shampoos that reduce pet dander - Nasal saline rinses - Fragrance free detergent and fabric softener
SAME. I’m 12+4 today and was noticing a decrease in nausea around wk 9 but recently it came back with a vengeance :/ Saturday I had a really bad headache on top of nausea/vomiting. I’m hoping that with reaching 13 weeks Saturday I’ll feel instantly better. Wishful thinking haha
@tuxielove93 I'm still struggling with the poor sleep too! Exactly like you not waking up bc I'm stressed or anxious it's just like my body thinks it should be awake at 4am and it's been probably my first pregnancy symptom, getting so tired of it now. Adding to the fact that now I'm waking up bc I can't make it through the night without peeing is just lovely, it's really not uncommon for me to fall asleep on the sofa around 7pm
Best has got to be my bump actually starting to look like a bump and not bloat anymore. I swear I'm starting to feel them move now too but it literally lasts for a second or two and I can't quite put my finger on if it's baby or not. It feels like little popping or a slight flutter, just want it to be more pronounced so I definitely know!
Hey All! FTM here, I get a headache almost every morning before I get out of bed. Then once I get up and start moving, it usually goes away for the most part. I never got headaches before so wanted to make sure this was a pregnancy thing and nothing more serious. Going to mention it to my doc next week at my appointment. Im 15+4 and thought second trimester the headaches would end if it was pregnancy related?
@rosegoldg You perfectly described early baby movements
@blf2072 Headaches aren’t one of the disappearing symptoms. Definitely mention it to your doctor, but some women get headaches throughout their pregnancy. I seem to be a lucky one this time with it, although I think mine is related to sinus pressure and TMJ.

Yes!! I've been super congested since week 5. I'm in Week 11 and the congestion has not let up. It also doesn't help that I find the air to be so dry!!
For those of you who have experienced constipation, my midwife recommended chia seeds. I have been sprinkling them on my yogurt or oatmeal every morning. I think they have helped! I had luck with prunes as well, but I started to get an aversion to them. I like that chia seeds are pretty flavorless.
So… is it possible to feel baby flutters at 13 weeks or am I just slowly losing my mind? 🤣 I definitely felt them at 15w with DD and they say STMs can feel them earlier…
@creativesoul63 I felt something at 13 weeks. It felt like a small fish flipped in my belly. I was laying down at night at was about to sleep and that’s when I noticed it! The husband thinks im crazy bc im a FTM, but I think it’s possible. Im now 16 weeks and haven’t felt anything since then lol. They say second time moms feel it sooner 🥰
I felt baby kicks at 14 weeks with my first and have subsequently felt them earlier every time It really depends on every individual woman as to when you feel it.

@creativesoul63 I actually felt some flutters at 10 weeks when i was laying on my belly and thought it was NUTS and then saw baby moving on ultrasound a couple days later. At 15 weeks I keep noticing them, mostly in the evening when i'm resting or laying down for bed - always mild and its never consistent but they're there! and with my first I did not notice movement until later than everyone said I would.
Sleep is still poor but getting better. If i get woken up during the night it's all over though.
I'm dealing with heart palpitations again, which I hadn't for a few weeks. I had a stomach bug over the weekend and vomited for 7 hours on Saturday so i'm just hoping it's my body still catching up on fluids.
I also had my first bout of hip/sciatic pain last week that thankfully got better after a walk -but it reminded me that I really need to find a new chiropractor. It's been hard since I moved -everyone i've found out here has terrible hours or seems nutty or makes you pay a ton of money up front and I just want my old doctor back!
@runnergirl2018 I've been struggling with hip pain too and currently just taking baths and ordered a pregnancy pillow off amazon. Dyou recommend a chiropractor for it? I've never used one before but I'll take all the tips I can
@rosegoldg I've had recurrent hip issues through my life and have found a GOOD chiropractor to be a life saver. I can't imagine going through my first pregnancy without one and it's high on my list to find. Look for someone trained in the Webster technique. Chiropractors adjust patients differently when pregnant and it requires specialized training. Mine was so good in helping with my round ligament pain too, as well as post partum and baby stuff
@runnergirl2018 that’s brilliant thank you I’ll add it to my list to research and hope you find a good new one for you soon!
Also a symptom that for some reason just completely flew under my radar and did not expect at least this early! Led down in bed on my side, move slightly and defo feel a wet patch so have a look and my boob made a little wet patch through my top and onto my sheet, leaky boobies were not something I thought of this early! Is this gonna be an ongoing thing or a random occurrence does anyone know? Don’t particularly want to start leaking while I’m out and about 😂
My midwife very confidently said “yes” when I asked if chamomile is safe.
Which is good enough for for me. So back to chamomile!

Had a migraine yesterday through this morning, the pain is easing up now and I am exhausted. I hate the second trimester headaches! I just hope it doesn’t come back!
@sunshineandlemons I’m sorry you’re getting migraines! They
are the absolute worst! I’ve been getting more and more headaches lately too
and I’m trying everything to keep them at bay before I turn to caffeine. FX we

I’ve got sciatic nerve pain…. Again. It always shows up at this point in my pregnancy. It normally only lasts a few weeks though. I have no idea why, but I’m hoping the same happens again.
If anyone else happens to get it, there are some really easy stretches that offer relief.
