Not sure if what I’m feeling is round ligament pain or not… it comes and goes. It’s in the uterus area sorta between my belly button and the top of my pubic bone not localized to one area but more like throughout the entire region. It feels like stretching, uncomfortable, pressure, and when my bladder is full it feels worse… it’s hard to explain, but it’s defiantly not one spot more like all over….. is it normal ? Gas pain? Bloat? Round ligament ?
shoot, I answered in the old symptoms. @blf2072 it could be any of the above. But it sounds normal
Anyone else dealing with insomnia? I have not been able to sleep properly basically this whole pregnancy and now it's really getting to me. I just don't get full sleep cycles and wake up MULTIPLE times a night. Sometimes I can fall back to sleep, sometimes I have to put on whale and nature documentaries to lull me back to sleep. But I can't seem to get more than two MAYBE three hours at a time and that's probably not a full cycle. And after like 2-3AM I am just constantly waking up and dreaming A LOT. I have to go to bed at like 8-9PM because otherwise I really don't get enough sleep. But I am NOT someone who needs 10-12 hours of sleep so that's probably not helping either. BUT if I stay up any later I really don't get the sleep I need and then the morning sickness is worse. AGH.
It's not even anything waking me up. My brain just won't stay asleep. I'm not uncomfortable, don't wake up sick or having to pee or anything.... I just can't seem to stay asleep.

@tuxielove93 I’ve been dealing with insomnia for weeks and it’s getting really old. I take unisom nightly and it helps, but seems less so lately. It’s been taking me 1-2 hours to fall asleep. I sleep decent the first half of the night and the second half I constantly wake up. I fall back asleep okay, at least until 5-6am, although I don’t have to wake up until closer to 7 so it’s annoying and does not help my fatigue. On weekends I can get a solid nap in (if hubby takes the toddler) and that seems to help some
my nausea is less lately, which is nice, although I still puke most nights. It’s like I’m totally fine until suddenly I’m not. And if I think I’m okay sometimes it’ll get triggered by brushing my teeth. 🤪 food aversions are slowly lessening although my sense of smell is outta this world still
Currently 11wks 4 days and noticed my nausea has gone away.. going on day 2 of being able to eat whenever. My boobs are still sore but I can deal with that… nausea is unbearable for me though. Anyone else noticing their symptoms lessening or going away?
@francesgs, not so much this time around yet, but my last pregnancy it was literally like someone flipped a switch toward the end of week 12. I went from exhausted and nauseous all the time, to feeling better than I'd felt pre-pregnancy. It was crazy. So anyway, symptoms improving toward the end of 1st tri is 100% normal.
Currently 11w and my nausea has been so much better unless I haven’t eaten in a couple hours. I need to be better at bringing snacks with me. Unfortunately now I have bad acid reflux/heartburn that took its place. I remember having this with kid #2. I’m hoping it doesn’t last the whole pregnancy like it did with her.
I'm 13 +2 and I still feel nauseous, hoping it goes away soon. The fatigue is killing me though, I can't get enough sleep, this is definitely the hardest part of having a little one while pregnant. I just want to nap all day and go to bed by 8pm. 😅 When insomnia hits I'm going to be absolutely useless. Heartburn has been getting worse too. I swear I felt the teeny tiniest baby hiccups yesterday. It was so small, but felt just like baby hiccups and I don't think I would have noticed if it wasn't so rhythmic, or maybe I'm just nuts, ha!
I’m 14+4 and I also have fatigue like crazy. I can sleep all day on some days. I’m also still always hungry and get the worst hunger pains if I go longer than 2.5 hours without eating. I don’t remember this with my first and it’s really frustrating. I had a weird burst of insomnia this week, kept waking up at 2 am and up until 4. Those days for sure I napped all day. Thank goodness I’m still on winter break for grad school AND work! I’m also in full blown maternity clothes and life is so much better. Being comfortable makes me so much less cranky!
@elmann1 Same for me. So tired during the day. Nap during the day. Headaches in the evening and insomnia at night. My sleep schedule is so messed up. 😩
I guess I've been really lucky but I'm getting anxious about how few symptoms I've had... During weeks 5-8 I felt several things, mainly exhaustion, hunger, sore boobs, constipation, round ligament pain if I sneezed. Since week 9 (I'm now wk11+3) I haven't really had any symptoms except for tiredness and hunger, but it's hard to tell if that's real or psychosomatic. Next apt is at 13wks! I hate the wait. I haven't had any morning sickness at all - I know it sucks, but it would be reassuring at least...
14+3 the insomnia is crazy…. I literally have the weirdest dreams every night. At what point do we need to sleep on left side only ? 20wks? I’m a back sleeper and move around ALOT. Also having headachesss! I never get Headaches! I laid with a bag of ice on my face for like an hour yesterday 😂 lol
@thegeekymom I have never experienced baby hiccups. Idk if my kids don’t do it or I can’t recognize it.
That said, I’ve felt all my babies early. I could feel my first moving around at 14 weeks, and Ive been able to feel this baby for a bit now too. I’m 14 weeks tomorrow

@blf2072 I don’t think you have to only sleep on your left
side. I think it’s just recommended not to sleep on your back once you reach
the second trimester.

14 +4 here and my nausea is gone, thank goodness! I hope it never returns, like my first pregnancy. Still SO tired everyday but an active toddler and dark Canadian winter aren’t helping that lol.
@elmann1 I finally gave in and dug out a pair of maternity leggings today and I almost sighed at how much more comfortable I feel 😆😂
12 weeks today and I’ve also been dealing with insomnia, exactly like @tuxielove93 described. Nausea is definitely lessening (I no longer have to eat first thing in the AM) but I definitely still need to eat more than usual otherwise I get light headed. Boobs have finally grown/perked up and are feeling sore. I feel like this symptom kicked in later than with my first which is interesting. Bump is still mostly bloat, can’t wait for the real thing!
In case your like me and forget every time you’re pregnant….
Relaxin does NOT just get sent to the hips in pregnancy. It gets sent everywhere. And having joint pain is a very normal part of pregnancy and not indeed a sign that you are coming down with the flu. No need to freak out for five hours until you discover that fact. Again.
I literally do this every pregnancy 🤣

@tuxielove93 Yes! Between that, second tri migraines, and my house being cold AF in the winter, it's like every night is a game of "is this COVID, or am I just pregnant?" Especially after DH got COVID last week (thankfully just a mild breakthrough case).
Also, "relaxin" makes me laugh every time I hear it because it just sounds like such a made up name.
@blf2072 +1 for awful headaches and weird dreams. I'm just grateful that so far they've only been weird. When I was taking all the hormones for IVF, I had so many really intense and disturbing nightmares. It was awful.
First time posting! I’m almost 12 weeks and my nausea is probably the strongest it’s been. Overall had very light symptoms…aside from exhaustion… which I’m grateful for.
@tuxielove93 no way! I can't believe you've never experienced baby hiccups. Everyone who's seen me pregnant has actually seen the baby hiccups, ha! Just really rhythmic bumps. It always happens a few times a day when I'm further along with pregnancy, and my girls always have hiccups like crazy once they're out too.
Welp…after two times of pregnant totally leveling out my hormones and actually making me more chill, my luck has run out. Officially dealing with pregnancy induced anxiety and depression. OB put me on Zoloft on Friday. I knew I needed some help with anxiety within a few days after my 9 week appt but the depression crept in and took me by surprise shortly after. I’m having a better day today. My OB & DH have been great about the whole situation, which helps so so much.
Nausea is easing up but still around. Same with constipation & fatigue.
@skilouise the name relaxin has always cracked me up too considering that so many of the other hormones and such have names like prostaglandin F2 alpha!
11w5d here and just starting yesterday, here comes cramping and back pain and leg pain and just muscle pain in general. All day today too. I had it basically my whole pregnancy with my last and was wondering if this one would be any different. Here we goooo.. 😑
Side note- I took Tylenol (like once daily, sometimes not everyday) with my last pregnancy and now I'm seeing articles coming out from studies that show taking Tylenol during pregnancy can cause urogenital defects in males, and now I'm wondering if that's why my son was born with hypospadias which needed repaired. Ugh.
@stardustskies Did your doctor tell you to take magnesium supplements to help with the muscle pain at all? I started getting muscles spasms day before yesterday, so I tried magnesium, and it helped. 🤷♀️ (I have an autoimmune disorder that causes spasms, so magnesium is my go-to.)
@velvetblue88 I don't but that's a great suggestion! I'll ask my doctor about it. I always feel better when I'm more active/ do regular stretching and these past couple months have been pretty sedentary for me. I know I need to get in a better routine but winter months always make me feel so blehh. 😪
@stardustskies Bananas have always helped me too when the leg cramps get bad.
@thegeekymom oh you can see my babies a ton from the outside lol. But come to think of it, they never really had hiccups as babies on the outside either

Ughhhhhhhhhhh I think the itching is starting again. I had absolutely horrendous itching the first time around, particularly in my hands and feet* (like, crying at 2 am because the itching was so unbearable level itching). It took months to figure out that it was my eczema flaring up in a weird way. I was really hoping to avoid it this time, though at least this time I'll know how to mitigate the issue.
* Nota bene: itching in hands and feet can also be a sign of cholestasis, a very serious pregnancy condition (though it wasn't what caused my itching). If you have ongoing itching in your hands and feet, definitely talk to your doctor so they can determine if it is caused by cholestasis or another issue.
@skilouise I have such terrible skin issues not pregnant, but my skin always gets extra dried out when I’m pregnant. And then I get to worry that it’s one of the skin issues that is actually dangerous during pregnancy versus my normal crap. Not fun at all.

Anyone else get pregnancy rhinitis and know how to deal with it and/or get rid of it? I have dealt with congestion of some magnitude since week 5 or 6!! I used to have to sleep propped up by an extra pillow but haven't needed it for a week or two. Am I just having a crap time because it's also winter?

@inthewoods23 I did last time. And I think I have it again. I have had so much sinus pressure and pain going on and it just isn't letting up. The good news is the second I gave birth I could breathe again. You can try allergy medication, I personally haven't. Having a humidifer running really helped me. I also used heat packs to relieve some of the pressure in my face. Nothing was a cure all, but it helped.

@inthewoods23 yes! Every pregnancy! And like @tuxielove93 said, it went away as soon as I had the baby. I joked around I slept better after the baby than I did pregnant! For me, breathe right strips helped some.
@inthewoods23, yes! Like, congested feeling all night. Then, during the day, if I bend my head even the slightest, I get immediate drips. It's a delight, lol.
I've done Benadryl a few times when it was making my eyes water otherwise boxes of tissues have been my friends. It's just so annoying. I should try the humidifier sometime with it being winter. I have had 2 short nose bleeds this pregnancy
Is all my nasal drip why I'm never that hungry?
