Here's a funny one. I've had taco Bell exactly one time in my life. But right now whenever I see their commercials I'm like 🤤🤤🤤 . Might need to up the tally to 2 times sometime soon 😂
My husband made a delicious healthy dinner of salmon and green beans and….. (boxed) mac and cheese. Did I force myself to eat some salmon and green beans to not make him feel bad? Yes, yes I did. Did I inhale the mac and cheese and go back for seconds? Also yes.
@itsme215 I split a boxed macaroni with my 2 yo yesterday and at the end she just goes “mama, l more cheese” me too girl, mama always wants more cheese.
Nothing sounds good! Well I was eating pretty good. Initially I was including eggs, avocado, and everything healthy that seemed good for the baby. The last few days it has been between that and wanting a pizza delivered - moreso wanting something easy than a craving.. But in the last 12 hours the nausea hit harder and now there’s been vomiting…. So since that point, what I’ve found has been doing well is mashed potatoes, Strawberry pieces, and saltines. Frozen lemon water with some cranberry juice in it and half thawed really helped me rehydrate slowly. I used a metal straw as an ice pick and it helped me not drink too much at once too. Tomorrow I plan to try Ramen.. And maybe some blueberries and chopped up apple. (Big thank you to my hubby, who made stuff from scratch, went to the store for me, and washed and diced fruit-and cleaned all evening so I could rest.)
yep, still fixated on the bagel. i wound up eating just a bagel plain, untoasted, kinda helped?! i have to wfh today and tomorrow before we can send our toddler back to montessori due to traveling... so i'm really hoping MH tries another grocery store before coming home...
Anyone else notice things taste off? I had cheesy broccoli w/chicken and rice all mixed up- that I made. The chicken tasted gross to me. Like bad. But the rest of my family said it was great and they loved it. Same happened with mh’s pulled pork yesterday. He made it the same way he always does and it just tested off, to only me. It happened with something else too but idk what it was.
That all being said, I made loaded tots with the pulled pork last night and all together it might have been one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Loaded them with cheese, coleslaw, cilantro, and green onions. I might have it again for lunch!!
@paytonpedro YUPPPP! I’ve noticed it on and off about a few things. Like crackers, I was living off of Ritz and then one day they tasted weird. The other thing was yogurt, I was eating it until one day I went to put it in my mouth and just it touching my tongue almost made me vomit. Idk if it’s that “metallic” taste people mention or what but I know exactly what you’re describing
moved on to a block of vintage cheddar cheese and crunchmaster crackers... but also kinda want to ask MH to bring me home mcdonalds nuggets with sweet and sour sauce. i didnt eat mcd's for a good 15 years, and then this summer had nuggets and fell in love again. oops.
@paytonpedro Yes! This happens to me most nights with dinner. I want it, I make it, I take a few bites and ask my husband if it tastes gross to him. I seem to do okay until lunchtime, then my stomach turns after that and everything tastes gross and I don’t like it. The exception was last night, when I made broccoli soup and couldn’t shut up about how yummy it was 😂
@anniemarie887 I’ve been living off cheddar every lately, probably explains the constipation… anyways that vintage sounds great! I was strongly considering asking mh to bring home mc-d’s fries lol. But I’m going to stick with the sourdough and cheddar grilled cheese and tomato soup. 😋
@maggiemadeit ugh my nausea is the same with when it likes to happen. I feel so bad because mh works so hard and when he gets home I’m just too tired to do anything. And a lot has been on him lately. Broccoli soup for the win!! I’ve made it twice already and I just bought two of the cups from Panera they sell at the grocery store lol. Broccoli usually bugs my stomach and had been so it’s making that craving a little difficult for me.
@anniemarie887 frozen pierogies are life! I've eaten them twice this past week.
I'm currently stuffing my face with all the carbs. I ate all the grocery store muffins and frozen soft pretzels. Yesterday I made my husband make mac and cheese with dinner because I still don't like potatoes (unless they're in a pierogi). Also, he bought Trix when he went to the grocery store (?) and I forgot how delicious those are. I'm going to make popcorn next. Tomorrow I will have to go back to the store for more muffins and frozen pretzels.
@paytonpedro we had Chipotle yesterday and I ordered the chicken out of habit. I had a few pieces but then started picking around the chicken. I'm not usually a big meat person but not even being able to eat the little bit of meat I'm used to hasn't been good for my protein intake. I need protein to stay full.
I have randomly been desperate for a Subway sandwich and a plain roast beef sandwich from Arby's. I like both normally but I have never before found myself dreaming of a Subway sandwich.
@darkrose88 Me too, we've been eating entirely vegetarian because I can't handle meat. I am having trouble even walking by it in the grocery store, it turns my stomach. This happened in my last pregnancy, and I can't remember when I started wanting it again?
@maggiemadeit oh yes, I avoided the meat isle today when I did my quick trip to the grocery store. I know my aversion to meat only lasted for a little while last pregnancy.
@anniemarie887@bobloblaw87 I was obsessed with my Italian subs from subway during my last pregnancy (after I got over my meat aversion).
@anniemarie887 Thank you, I didn't realize until just now that bagel bites have been missing from my life! Those sound amazing. I've also been on a cream cheese kick; I swear an English muffin with cream cheese helps to settle my stomach.
@wisewitch222 I impulse purchased frozen soft pretzels the other day but haven't made them yet. Funny story about popcorn... about a week after my positive test my husband won a 10 gallon bag of popcorn. It was so good and I ate so much for the first couple days. But now the thought of it makes my stomach turn, so it's on him to finish the rest. I can't even smell it right now so the bag has to stay in the garage.
Give me ALLLL the spice. I am usually not a huge spice person but now it hardly phases me and i can inhale a bag of Takis. My MIL made white chicken chili the other night and I dumped so many taki's in it.
@erickawestlund FRUIT. Yes. Ate a ton of strawberries with yogurt today. Yesterday it was watermelon. I craved fruit with my first and even though I don't think this is a craving yet, it's definitely something I can eat without getting nauseous.
Spaghetti sounded good for dinner, but NO MEAT. All meat is the enemy at the moment. I'm not usually a red sauce fan girl, but tonight the acidity hit the spot.
Oh my gosh, all I want is fruit. Give me apples, bananas, applesauce, avocados... I haven't had anything citrus or any berries yet. I think I'll have a smoothie when I get home. Covid is really messing with my senses since I can't smell and I am losing my taste.
This morning my husband made something that smelled like an Everything bagel and I was so excited but it was just potatoes and eggs. I...did not want that. I don't normally like bagels but now I really want one.
Okay I'm dying for a deli meat sandwich and a giant pickle. Is that one of the things Emily Oster told us not to worry about? I feel like I've internalized "no deli meat" and I'm having a hard time giving myself permission 😅

@anniemarie887 oh....a bagel with cream cheese doesn't sound terrible....

I really wanted some avocado toast, so during lunch did a quick run to the grocery store to pick up what I needed to make it. My stomach is so happy.
Also, I may be involuntarily vegetarian for awhile because I'm really struggling with meat. Sometimes it seems okay, other times it just seems gross.
