Re: Weekly Randoms w/o 12/27

  • The nausea has come on HARD over the last few days. I can barely function. I'm just now accepting that my Christmas decorations will be up until the nausea subsides. So like March-ish 😅
  • Loading the player...
  • I just discovered pink stork nausea sweets. The lite peppermint is so good and works like a charm@

@malloryfrommn oh no! I’ve been getting waves of nausea, but staying on top of things with Unisom before bed, B6 in the morning, making sure I eat often, and pregnancy nausea hard candies.

Last night was a bit rough because I was supposed to work NOC shift (7pm-7am). So I couldn’t take Unisom obviously. On top of it, I was basically in OR from 11:30pm-10am doing tons of c-sections. And I stayed late because my co-worker who was supposed to replace me didn’t plan for the snow. So I worked 15.5 hours 😩 No time to eat anything proper. I’m exhausted.
  • @daffodil_shoe That sounds like a loooooong shift. I hope you got a square meal and a long sleep after all that!
  • @daffodil_shoe WOW that sounds super exhausting. I don't know how you did it! Hopefully you get some time off to recuperate. <3

@malloryfrommn hahaha I'm terrible at putting away any decorations (especially Christmas) so they'll probably be out until March, too.

@Katek819 ooooooh I'm going to have to get some of those. Peppermint candy canes have been helping so those sound divine.

Life gets back to semi-normal now for the rest of the week. I was off work for the past 5 days and now I gotta get some stuff done by the 30th. Not too much, thankfully, but still...I want to just cover myself in blankets and enjoy my new Keurig.
  • @daffodil_shoe oh man, what a rough shift! Without having the unisom or a proper meal, I have no idea how you made it through!
  • I hit 6 weeks today and was going to tell my sisters and a couple close friends that I’m pregnant but I chickened out. I feel like people are gonna think I’m crazy for having a 3rd baby, especially in a pandemic and don’t wanna deal with judgment or lackluster excitement.

  • I was going to start potty training one of my kids today but I’m just so exhausted and decided to put away the Christmas stuff and try to get the house back in order. I’ll try again another day 😆

  • @coco2787 I feel 100% the same way about how people will react to us having #3. We’ve been looking for a bigger house for a while but the market has that basically on pause so I already know I’m going to get so many “where are you going to put it” questions. Our house is a very small 3 bedroom and like we can fit, it will just be cozy. And realistically I have 8 months until baby is even here and another year+ before they need their own space/take up any space. Clearly I’ve had my rebuttal planned in my head since that bfp.

@bearmomma1 ugh. I’m sorry that not having your pups around next Christmas is a prospect for you. I absolutely had those same thoughts about my 12 year old guy. He’s been declining quickly these past few months and has diabetes on top of age related changes. It makes me so incredibly sad. He is my first baby.

@and_peggy at least you got something done today! Potty training can wait! Lol. I’ve been working with my 3yo to wipe his own butt but meh. He’s not really getting it and smeared poo on mh’s grandmas toilet (on accident) on Christmas. Potty training and everything related is for the birds lol. It wouldn’t be such a big deal but I’m just so tired and he poop sooooo much. 🤣

  • @malloryfrommn @Katek819 I second pink stork nausea sweets. I haven't tired the peppermint but the mango and raspberry sweets have been very effective in controlling my naseau.

@and_peggy potty training is the worst lol. My almost 4 yo is daytime potty trained but it really took him wanting it for it to be successful. Stubborn little boy. 🙄

I'm straight up exhausted. I've been up since 2am (so over 2 hours) and facing the possibility I may not go back to sleep tonight. We are staying at a cabin for a few nights and between sharing a room with my son, external noises & my pregnant self needing something (pee, eat a snack), I'm just not falling back asleep. 😣

  • @paytonpedro oh I love that! MH does the same, always goes out of his way to satisfy my random cravings...or at least get me something that doesn't sound awful because of the nausea. Food gifts like that always make me do giddy. Lol.

@coco2787 judgemental responses are the worst. @paytonpedro we have a three bedroom, too, and we're already packed in tight. We have plans to move right after the baby comes, though, if all goes well. But yea the market sucks, everything is getting so expensive and going so fast. Hoping to snag a 4 bedroom, even if we have to do some DIY repairs.
  • Well, now I want queso.

My dog is almost 13 and has always slept in our bed. Lately she is SO restless at night and she literally got in and out of the bed like 6 times, then wanted to go pee, then got in and out of bed a few more times. I finally just kicked her out of the room after several hours of this but I’m so GD tired today. My husband slept soundly through all of this 🤬

  • @coco2787 there must have been something in the air. My daughter was very restless and wouldn’t sleep last night either.
  • @paytonpedro what a sweet husband! My fiancé is very much about trying to accommodate me as well. Also between the aversions and cravings, I’m barely eating
  • I’m really struggling…the nausea isn’t as bad with the unisom at night and b6 2x a day. But it’s always lingering…like I always have to be chewing on gum or a mint. But the worse part is I have no Energy or motivation to do anything. I force myself, and work at the pace my body will allow me to but I feel so lazy 😔 And emotionally that’s really hard for me bc as a mother, wife, teacher im always doing a million things so I feel like im failing at life right now. I know it’s the hormones but gosh I just want to feel normal :( thanks for listening
  • @jazz0oh You’re doing the best you can right now. Hopefully the fatigue and nausea fades with second trimester. Give yourself some grace, I know easier said than done. I’m in the same boat you are except I’m not working, I was going to school. Luckily the semester ended bc I don’t know how I would have gotten anything done.
  • @jazz0oh I feel ya on the no energy or motivation to do anything. I’ve basically been glued to the sofa for the last 10 days. Luckily my company isn’t really working last week and this week so I haven’t felt too guilty work-wise but next week I’ve gotta find a way to be more productive. I walked down the street to the mailbox last night and that was definitely the most exercise I’ve gotten in awhile!
  • @jazz0oh totally have no energy or motivation here either.

@starkette yes same! Mh wants something move in ready but it’s just not even realistic any more, at least not in our area. We also have crippling taxes. We’re really hoping to move out of state for our next move.
  • We told my in-laws about the pregnancy this past week and my husband just told me that his mom bought a new 3 row SUV today specifically to have more room for the baby. I love her to death but she’s crazy 🤣 this is only going to be our second child!
  • @laddy12 gotta love the overly enthusiastic in laws! My MIL called tonight wanting to know everything about my appointment today even though I already sent all relevant info to the group chat. I was like "the doc says everything looks good..." and she asked "is that it?" Uh yea, it's only 8 week, that's it.  :D
  • @bearmomma1 I'm so sorry about your pups. We had to say goodbye to my almost 15 year old husky on the 24th. I'd had him all of his life. Needless to say, I'm devastated about losing him. This happy news of a baby has helped me feel a little better.

@paytonpedro I'm one of 5 kids, and we grew up in a 3 bedroom house. I had a friend who was one of 14, same deal. You do what works best for you and your family. Anyone who is judgey can go kick rocks with no socks.

When your sex drive is non-existent IRL but definitely present in your pregnancy dreams 😂😂😂
I could have written this myself. Worst part is that my sex dreams have nothing to do with my current partner. 🥴
  • @mehugg so true! And the worst part is I have this irrational fear that sex/an orgasm can cause a miscarriage, and my subconscious goes and has all the sexy time it wants. Like wtf 🤣

  • @wigglyicecream @mehugg omg yes! The sex dreams are insane and not always with MH. 🤫 but we haven't actually DTD in forever 🤷‍♀️
  • @bridgiebee82 I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is like losing a family member, it hurts so much. <3

Ok I'm with all the ladies who have zero sex drive but many naughty dreams about various actors and random people from my past. My brain loves to dig up people I haven't seen in a decade to be my dream boyfriend. I just want Jensen Ackles, please, not my high school crush.

@bearmomma1 SAME, I am totally paranoid about that too. My OB wants to do a pap smear and I'm like NO. Even though there's zero evidence it causes a miscarriage....it can wait.
  • @darkrose88 we haven’t DTD since I got my BFP. Between lack of drive and nerves it just hasn’t been top of my mind
  • @starkette Same! my husband says I must be having naughty dreams because I was making noises in my sleep. of course I don't remember the good dreams. Only the ones that pray on my insecurities and make me relive high school all the time lol
  • @Katek819 high school dreams are THE WORST! I always wake up so stressed after one of those bad boys.
  • @bearmomma1 so funny and I may or may not borrow that idea!!

Ugh HS dreams are the worst!! I always have the same ones where I forgot my schedule and dont know what my next class is, or I can’t remember my locker combination.
  • Thank you so much for the reminder @and_peggy!!!

ughhhh!!! I am SUPER DUPER aggravated. My drs office called Monday and asked I go for bw before my appt this coming Monday. No problem right? Wrong. I wanted to go the next morning, the lab is only open from 6:30am to 2pm but my husband started work at 7 and asked me to go Friday (today). It annoyed me but his reasoning was my mil is off today and could watch our children, so I didn’t have to go super early and potentially make him late for work. Whatever. Well I go today and the damn lab is closed, and I’m just so mad at mh. I feel like I am constantly on the back burner. Ive always got the kids, which like isn’t generally an issue except now with covid you have to go alone everywhere and it just makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get to drs/the lab/ any-freaking-where. It’s not like this is the first health related appt of mine that’s gotten pushed off because of just not being important enough. And I think that’s my biggest quarrel right now is I just feel like he doesn’t think my health is important. But you know, he’ll leave work early for a same day appt for himself for a damn man cold. 😑😑😑😑

UO Friday? I’ve been on TB for years so I understand why the BMB organization was done in the past but this board is so slow that I think the one-off posts are kind of nice to keep it interesting. Plus with a question thread that will inevitably get to be many many pages long people are probably going to be asking a lot of the same questions rather than going back and trying to read a dozen pages when it would be easier to find a thread about the topic.

  • @coco2787 I generally don’t have an issue with it but it tends to be random drive bys who participate for their one question and then we don’t hear from them until they want to join a Facebook group in 4 months.

The real problem is that things that should be at the top, like symptoms or general questions, I have to scroll like 15 posts down to find. People that don’t use the board often then come here and don’t even know a symptoms thread exists and created their own post about it, this perpetuating the issue.

Im not trying to be the board police, I just find it easier to communicate when it’s all it one place 🤷🏻‍♀️
