This morning I finally broke the news to my husband after keeping it a secret for 2 weeks. His face was PRICELESS! Not even two days ago he was practically begging to try for another. It was so hard to keep from blurting it out then and there.
We also told both sides of the family, and honestly I'm just emotionally drained. Lots of excitement, of course. But PGAL brain has me feeling guilty for sharing the news. After all, it's so early (6 weeks) and I know all too well that things happen.
@starkette I’m so glad it went so good for you!! So we did the video and told our children and my oldest just shook his head no. Lol. Youngest didn’t care at all…. Lol. And THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING TO ANYONE!!! So now we’re basically back to square one and I have to come up with a whole other plan. 😑 I don’t think my oldest even believed me until I showed him the ultrasound picture like a half hour ago even though he did mention it 2-3 times today including name suggestions. Lol. Oldest wants another brother and youngest wants a little sister.
@malloryfrommn it absolutely amazes me that you were able to keep it for so long!! I love that he was just asking 2 days ago haha. Hear you on the pgal side. I wanted (my children) to say something so bad but I just couldn’t work it out and this is the ONE THING they decided not to blab… and ruined my plan lol.
We told my family today and told my husband’s mom via FaceTime. It went really well. Everyone is super excited. My sister who just got married is also stoked that it takes the pressure off her for a bit 😂
Our not telling anyone thing was mostly successful. Of all the people to randomly find out it was my BROTHERS. My one brother is really loud and kind of manic and at one point on Christmas Eve he started loudly insisting I do shots with him and my other brother. He's normally loud so no one else was paying attention to him at that point, but when he wasn't taking no for an answer I knew it could escalate into a very loud thing and me involve the entire party and I also knew that the only answer he would accept was the truth, so I told them. They were good brothers though and didn't tell anyone so we got to have a totally normal Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the family at our house. Then after the ultrasound on January 4 we'll tell the kids and let them handle the rest.
