@achanceintime I’m sorry for your previous loss and current battle. I can’t imagine that kind of pain. I do understand your fear, almost lost this one and I’m happy to be past viability. I too struggle with the guilt that I have potentially failed her as a mother before she is even here. Every week I check to see what her chances her if she came, the types of problems and challenges she would face, and how long our NICU stay could be. I packed a bag only for myself because I know if she did come, I would be the only one coming home. You’re an amazing mother and nothing you did has caused this. I truly hope you can see that but I know how hard it is. Hang in there, you got this 💗
Thanks everyone for all of your kind messages! DS adenoid and tonsil removal went well and he is recovering now just fine! I’m exhausted from wearing a mask/shield combo all day and trucking my DS and his gear all around the hospital between various waiting rooms, surgery and recovery. Feeling so grateful though that he is good now!! Appreciated all of your support. Catching up now on everyone else’s updates
@faithmovesmountains my heart aches for you! I'm sorry they are so ignorant and unsupportive. I have also felt the "I'm a failure an my body couldn't keep my baby alive", awful feelings and thoughts. I'm sorry you have gone through that. I wish no one ever did. And I know it doesn't help when people say it's not your fault.... But it's not your fault. ❤️ I hope Lilly Rose has that growth spurt for next scan, and she ends up being huuuuge! I love her name. It's so beautiful and elegant and if feels so fitting somehow! I'm rooting for the both of you. Grow baby grow!!
@night_nurse thanks for asking! The appointment was..productive. if kinda stressful. Guys.. I gained TEN lbs in 17 days. I'm certain some of it is fluid, as I was unable to empty my bladder all day, and drank 3 L of water but barely peed. But OB was quite concerned about the weight gain. He sent an a prescription for stool softener for me though, since...that's been an issue, as well as hemmerhoid cream, as I'd like to try to improve that issue before making it 10000 times worse pushing a baby out in a few months.
He ordered blood tests and my GTT. I'm legit scared I'm going to fail. I've got a sneaking suspicion SOMETHING is going on...
He wasn't TOO concerned about the spotting. He said to monitor and if it happens again, to immediately restart the progesterone.
My BP was still good, at 104/58. Baby's HR was 156, and my fundus was measuring HUGE. OB says he assumes it's related to my complaint of being unable to empty my bladder.
My next appointment is in 2 weeks. I'm hoping I can watch what I eat, and lose some of the weight. And maybe go get tested for a UTI? I feel like it's either a UTI or diabetes issue....
@goldfishcraker My weight gain has been astronomical. I have always been a thin person and I am not even remotely thin looking at this point. I was so sure I was going to fail the GTT but nope. This is just the way this pregnancy is going. My OB said today he is not concerned with my weight gain...so it made me feel a bit better about it...but goodness it is getting ridiculous!
Thank you all for the words of support and validation on my repeat c-section/tube removal feelings. It helps so much to have a group of women who just get it. In other news, I did not pass the glucose screening test, so will go in for the 3 hour tolerance test tomorrow. Bummed but not surprised.
@goldfishcraker Thank you. Talking to all of you has definitely been a help as I process. I feel like I’m getting calmer than I was Monday, at least.
I’m so sorry you’ve been having issues emptying and hemorrhoids to boot, that sounds miserable. FX that your doctors are able to figure everything out to get you feeling better.
@achanceintime If it makes you feel better, when I had my first they just immediately sent everyone for the 3 hour since so many people fail the 1 hour. FX the next one goes well 🤞
@goldfishcraker I also highly recommend chia pudding (chia seeds, milk of your choice, a bit of vanilla, toppings of your choice, shake and refrigerate) as an excellent source of fiber and a great way to address constipation!
@achanceintime with my first pregnancy I failed the 1 hour(and passed the 3 hour with my final blood sugar was actually extremely low). But the reason it’s so easy to fail is because they want to try and capture AS MANY people as they can that may be diabetic. And send them on to the more definitive testing so they don’t miss anything. FX for a quick, easy 3 hour for you!
@Panaceia and @nursejenn5 Your words do give me hope! The cut off for the test was 135 and I was at 144, so not super scary high or anything. Really hoping that since it was fairly close that I may have a chance at passing.
@faithmovesmountains I am so sorry to hear you received such difficult news. Luckily for this baby, you're in charge and not your mom. Hopefully we can encourage you and give you the grace you're having a hard time giving yourself right now - your baby is lucky to have a mom that loves her so much already and does everything in her power to get the best treatment and medical care possible. Also, I love her name so much! Glad you decided to share it.
@realhousewife519 I hope the surgery went well! My son had the same one, it really helped!!
@jessier19 I’m sorry you fell! That’s scary! Glad alls ok!
@appleblossom8317 I have moved 2x while pregnant. It's hard. No wonder you are exhausted. BUT even not moving, yes I'm exhausted!
My bump isnt letting me tag anymore. I'll try and come respond to others later.

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: A guinea pig? ha! FTM/STM/TTM+: 3rd Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue Upcoming Appointments: 1/3 was discharged from the level 2 doc. How are you feeling?: crummy, exhausted, braxton hicks are picking up, anxiety... Rants/Raves: We were supposed to go to TX for christmas w my DH family. Everyone staying in 1 house. 20 of us. UMMMMm so I asked DH to request they get tested before we leave. And it's completely blown up. Everyone is so mad at me. I don't get why people are so hesitant to test when it benefits everyone. It seems their biggest concern is "what if we test positive". I told DH if they are insisting they still want to risk everyone around them if they are positive, the boys and I won't go. I just cant wrap my head around everyones hesitancy during a freaking pandemic. I also have an autoimmune disease. It's now to the point where I just wont go. But Dh is insisting that he goes on christmas and takes the kids. Well I wasn't thrilled about that. It's been so frustrating. I have spent the last 3 days crying. Questions: anyone feel like their babe is right on their cervix? Like lightening crotch x100, along with pressure. I know he's head down already. GTKY: Do you typically like to make a New Years resolution? If so, do you have one (or more) in mind for 2022? I usually talk about one. but I feel like i'm setting myself up for failure if i do. because i never am able to complete it.
@313Meg wowwwwwwww. I'm so sorry you're having all that drama about christmas. They'd just rather not know they're positive and spare everyone else getting sick so they can do christmas how they want? How selfish. I'd be in the same boat as you, absolutely.
@Nik102 I'm sorry they keep bringing up your losses. That's not fun having that reminder. Remind me what's going on this time around? Contracting alot which is progressing your cervix?
@night_nurse I'm glad you are home and resting. I'm sure that's scary and was a little battle for your body!
@rachelredhead I try to remind myself that they are going through growth spurts. Just like when they are out, they rest a lot on those days. So when babe is quiet I usually find the next day he's all over the place.
@achanceintime I'm sorry about your feelings over the C-Section and tubes tied. It is a big decision. Hugs
@jenis_fan_for_life I'm actually relieved that you said that. That's exactly how I am feeling. So exhausted, my belly is sore, the BH get tiring. UGH. My OB recommended a belly band (which sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't) and compression socks. Sexy huh?!
@313Meg It’s honestly hard for me to even comprehend people acting that way. So what is their alternative?! They’re really okay to unknowingly infect 20+ family members just so they don't have to change plans?
@313Meg at 19 weeks they discovered my cervix was dangerously short. It ended up measuring 0.7cm at its worst, normal is 3-5cm. Being so far along and the fact that I had next to no cervix left the high risk doctors wouldn’t touch me, they basically said go home on bedrest and pray we make it to 23 weeks and j can get steroid injections for baby. Called a ton of doctors along the east coast and no one would help. Finally the chief of OB at my hospital wanted to see me and decided he could place a stitch to keep my cervix from opening and hopefully make it to term now. Cervix is 1.7cm after stitch which is short but we are all thrilled with that number and hopeful we will make it to at least 32 weeks.
@Panaceia my midwives did run some blood work and it was all normal 🤷♀️ They plan to recheck when I do my GTT in a few weeks though!
@night_nurse I appreciate the words of encouragement!! I definitely needed to be reminded to advocate, not only with my providers but also my family!
@jennifer_m21 I would love to hear your favorite flavor when you do try it! I live vicariously through those who still live close to a scoop shop since we moved away 😫
@faithmovesmountains What a classic, beautiful name! I just love it ❤️ We all will continue to be here for you to lean on. What you are going through is so hard! You and Lilly Rose will continue to be in my thoughts.
@achanceintime thanks for sharing your experiences with bp in pregnancy. I struggle with that connection between the slightly elevated bp readings and increased anxiety as a result too. It feels like a self-fulfilling, cyclic thing 😣 I haven’t been monitoring at home so far, but my midwife asked me to after this recent appointment. It didn’t pop up for me in my first pregnancy until 37-38 weeks and I still ended up being able to go into labor spontaneously. I’m not feeling confident it will hold off that long this time around.

How are you feeling?: overall good, have been tired again lately.
Rants/Raves: passed my gestational diabetes test with flying colours! Finally blood work that was good lol. Can’t seem to get my iron and hemoglobin up, so one more blood test then iron infusion for me. The hospital here is being difficult with giving them because of covid, I already should have had one with how low it is.
@friends-fan FX you get your results quickly (mine came back in exactly 1 week). Will be thinking of you and your family!
@wildwood8 I feel you on the being tired again! It’s not full 1st trimester exhaustion, but definitely more tired the last week or so.
I got my gestational diabetes test results today. I got an email from the lab, and according to that I did not pass. But apparently my doctor uses a different protocol or threshold, because she messaged me saying I definitely passed and do not have GD. I sent her a message back and am waiting for clarification. But for now I plan to just enjoy the Christmas noms, and then just be very mindful of my intake and exercise. Cleaning house, making fudge and baking 3 types of cookies today, so wish me luck lol
@Panaceia@achanceintime I went in for my blood draw and ended up just having my check up while there so I didn't have to go back in a few days! Ob seemed less ominous about these upcoming tests so I feel slightly better, though still worried. Maybe just a little relief for the holidays. I'm now on every 2 weeks, but I guess we are almost in the third trimester now! Yay! Nurse gave me my tDap vaccine and told me that bloodwork has been coming back quickly, within a week generally. So definitely FX for good news to brighten holidays.
@wildwood8 I've felt extra tired lately also. I bet your iron and hemoglobin levels have something to do with that. Hopefully they get u in for an infusion soon!
@achanceintime fudge and cookies?! Yum! DD and I may make some cookies later, that sounds great! FX for quick clarification on GD results!
@achanceintime fx your office uses a different threshold! I know there’s conflicting ideas behind whether a 135 or a 145 is better. My office uses 136. But the one across the hall uses(or used to use) 145 🙃
@friends-fan I'm glad they sounded at least a little more optimistic! And FX those results come back quickly!!! I have to check when I'm supposed to get my tDAP too...I feel like it's usually around 32 weeks...so probably my January GP appointment. And I can't believe you're at 28 weeks already!!! We go to appointments every 2 weeks at 28 weeks too but my next OB appointment isn't until 30 weeks so I guess it will start at 30!
@nursejenn5 I just heard back. The threshold my doctor uses is different from the lab. But since I am “borderline” she has sent in an order to my pharmacy for glucose test supplies. She wants me to test my fasting glucose every morning for the next couple of weeks, log the numbers, and bring the log with me to my next appointment in a couple of weeks.
I'm 27+1 today but will be 29 weeks at my next appt. They give tDap here anytime after 27 weeks. I've been going every 3 weeks for the last several appt for some reason. I never asked why it switched to 3 weeks instead of 4. I have a different OB this time so I just assumed thats the norm for him but I did feel like its soon for bi monthly...I just didn't realize how fast time is flying I guess! 🥰 I'm definitely hoping for quick results.
