@EmilyE13 I was wondering where you lived when I saw the comment YH was in KY for bourbon tasting. I'm in south west OH so we are really close both the IN and KY border.
@darkrose88 yep, central Indiana so just a quick couple hour roadtrip down to bourbon country for him. Have you been? He’s currently cavorting around on a scooter while I’m waiting to hear my beta results.
Born and raised in California, currently living in Idaho (US) but expected to move to Texas for MHs job. Still hoping they'll decide to keep him fully remote, though.
@and_peggy Austin! Except with real estate prices going through the roof I'm definitely worried about finding a good place. We're gonna rent first and then hopefully buy.
@starkette definitely. When that time comes, I’m happy to provide you some direction with good suburbs. I’m just south about an hour. Austin is an interesting city😆
@and_peggy Oh that would be awesome! MH only has to be in the office one day a week, so we are up for a bit of a commute if the area we live in has a good community. I'm worried about schools for my daughter. She's at a montessori now, but Texas is more expensive than Idaho so I don't think we can continue having her at a private school. Right now she has a discount because of winning it through a lottery. Couldn't afford it otherwise.
@starkette There’s certainly pockets of Texas that get you more for your money but Austin is probably one of the more expensive places here. Only having to commute one day a week opens up a lot of options. Know several people who live in Round Rock, Leander, Kyle. All family friendly. If you look a little further south, that’s closer to San Antonio (where I am), you have great communities like New Braunfels and Schertz or Cibolo. So it’s really just a matter of how far you’re willing to be, but in general I’d say if you’re further south, you can probably find more for your money. (North Austin is wildly more expensive). And if you need a realtor or help in that area when you move, my mom is one and can give you names if you stay closer to Austin.
@EmilyE13 I've never done the whole bourbon trail, but I've been to one of the distilleries. It was a lot of fun getting to check it out. We are also going to Red River Gorge at the end of December, but obviously, I won't be going to any of the distilleries near by lol
Currently live in Louisiana. Born a Texan 😉 @ambelance feel. You.
I’ve been pregnant during the summer for all three pregnancies. When you’re 80 months pregnant in 1000% humidity with a heat index of 105 it is NOT fun to say the least.
We are BIG planners but we did not plan the latter part of the pregnancy well lol
Thanks so much @and_peggy that helps a lot! I stress about it everyday so having someone in the area who might be able to help with info is a huge weight off my shoulders.
@amberrmariee20 I’ve become more of a country girl and there are pockets that are absolutely stunning for sure I used to live in Toronto when I was in uni and childless haha! Whereabouts did you visit? Halifax is one of my all time favourite cities.
@jazz0oh where on LI? We went to Montauk for our last anniversary. So so pretty in the fall. We are from Cape Cod and were stunned at how green and lush it is.
Montauk is beautiful! About an hour away from me. Same county as me, I’m in Suffolk as well. We love to go to montauk & the Hampton’s in the summer so much fun!
@andrea3o we visited down town Toronto. I was only 8, we went to wonderland. I remember things so vividly from that experience every though it was 21 days ago. I live about 4 hours away from Halifax, I live in Cape Breton
