I made it to 15 weeks (today) with no puking. What do I do first thing this morning? Puke 🤢 let’s just hope this was a one-off and I’m not gonna suddenly add that back in. I threw up until 25 weeks with DD1 and 20 weeks with DD2. I deserve a pass 😅
Pregnancy boobs… good LAWD. Now this is the third time I’m doing this so you’d think it really wouldn’t shock me anymore but… 😳😳😳 When you grow several CUP sizes in a matter of weeks!?!? It boggles the mind.
@MrsLaLaBug@brookejay06 but where are my boobs?! 😭 😂 I have the slowest growing boobs it seems. I grew 2 cup sizes with DD over time, but still only up 1/2 cup max this time.
I woke up last night with what I can only assume was RLP? It felt like a cramp on the lower left side of my belly, definitely in the bikini area, but it lasted for a few minutes. I don't think I really experienced RLP with DD so I'm not entirely sure what it usually feels like!
@Bababatty yeah sounds like RLP. I got up off the couch too fast I think? tonight and immediately cringed in pain. I was talking to my OB about RLP last appointment bc I felt like it was starting for me so much earlier this time, and he was like, “well unfortunately…” and I knew immediately I wasn’t gonna like his answer. 😂😂😂
Tingling hands/arms is so weird. I know it’s got to have something to do with the increased blood volume/swelling since I never remember my arms or hands/fingers just falling asleep at random this much before just by laying a certain way. I guess I need more water - isn’t that the cure-all for everything? 🤣
@MrsLaLaBug I had my pinky/ring fingers/forearms go numb on both hands for over 24 hrs about a month ago. It was weird. I think the way I read my Kindle at night probably is an awkward angle and pinches a nerve (because I've noticed it go numb before while reading) but this was the first time it lasted that long.
So basically just watch your elbows/wrist and if they are constantly bent, especially like when you read or text on a phone, you might irritate a nerve. Carpal tunnel syndrome (I think this is your thumb/index going numb, different nerve than what I pinched) is super common in pregnancy!
@pajamstagrams I couldn’t remember if we had talked about that symptom in this thread or not but I feel like maybe we did somewhere! And now that I think of it, it DEF also happens to me while I’m scrolling on my phone at night fighting the insomnia so I bet you’re right. I’m pretty sure I had the pregnancy carpal tunnel both times before… it got to be so bad I couldn’t open a jar or even unscrew the lid off of the milk. It’s so weird all these things that happen when we are pregnant! And kinda unfair. LOL ETA: spelling
@MrsLaLaBug I'm pretty sure I asked about it here when it happened, so yes, you're remembering correctly 😂 I never remember what I post the months, weeks, days prior lol 🙈
Hopefully it goes away soon for you soon, if it's lingering!
+1 to the RLP- I sneezed today and it felt like my ovary burst. Also +1 to insomnia. I slept ok on Saturday night, but otherwise I haven’t really slept past 3 am for 2 weeks. I’m struggling hard.
Also I feel like I can feel every muscle fiber pulling apart or something. Every time I get up from my desk, my entire pelvic region / lower abdomen just aches and I have to hobble around. It feels like I’ve done intense workouts or something which I definitely haven’t (I’ve really been slacking exercise wise tbh). I don’t know if it’s because I’m so inactive? Help 😩
@b_1029 RLP is the worst!! Honestly what you’re describing sounds like it’s all related to RLP! All that pulling and stretching bc your uterus is growing outside of the pelvic bone area, and lower abdomen is always gonna feel heavy until baby is bigger and shifts up into our rib cages and then that will be a b*tch. 😂 Seriously though I hope it gets better for you, I have had it all 3 pregnancies and it has gotten subsequently worse each time. I had to have my doctor explain that to me bc my brain was thinking… “my muscles and ligaments and all of that has already been stretched out before so why is it still hurting?” And his response was thats EXACTLY why it does hurt more each time, bc all of that has already been stretched and strained and is not as strong/taught as the first pregnancy. So each subsequent it’s a little weaker trying to continue holding up the weight of the uterus. Always something positive to look forward to, isn’t there? 😭
Ok, can we talk hemorrhoids? 🙈 Has anyone managed to get rid of one with tucks pads alone? Naturally since DD was a big ol' girl, I got one towards the end of that pregnancy, and it pops up now and again normally, and came back when I got pregnant again this time and is just sticking around, being annoying. I've had good luck getting rid of it with cortisone, but I'm hesitant to use that while pregnant, especially if the hemi isn't actually painful. Do I just need to be diligent with tucks pads?
@pajamstagrams I would suggest tucks as your main course of action. Also, make sure you’re getting enough fiber, and try adding a stool in your bathroom (like a squatty potty, but I just use a $7 IKEA stool lol) to help avoid any strain while going. If it ends up being a persistent problem, look into getting a bidet attachment for your toilet. Makes a HUGE difference with hemorrhoids and fissures (if you’re unlucky enough to get those too).
Also, splurge and by the softest, thickest toilet paper you can find. The Costco ultra soft is basically the same as charmin but not as expensive, and it is seriously so much more comfortable than just about any other brand.
@skc040512 squatty potty fan already, wouldn't go without it! 😂 Admittedly I'm terrible about water, and really need to take magnesium as well to help things. Last time I was actually really good about not straining, but I still got a hemi, I think just due to DD's weight (I also had some varicose veins down there so that was a b*tch).
I'm always considering a bidet, but we have no way to hook it up to hot water so I'm scared for the winter and icy cold water 😳 but it would have been SO nice for post partum, which thankfully will be when it's hot AF outside this time so I might just pull the trigger.
@pajamstagrams yes we can talk about hemmeroids! They suck! I had one near the end of pregnancy and have noticed it again recently. It's gone now, thankfully. I didn't really do anything but I do have a bidet so I can echo how awesome they are (we got one at the beginning of the pandemic when there was basically no toilet paper to be had, now I'll never go back!). I can also ease your cold water fears - we don't have ours hooked up to the mixing tank, so it's just cold. It took some getting used to intially but now it doesn't bug me at all.
@pajamstagrams my dad has one with a built in heater 😂 granted, it came with a heated toilet seat, but he has no colon and no colostomy bag, so he went all out since he spends a good bit of time in the bathroom lol
This morning I had my NT scan, 1 hour glucose test (due to my weight- I know it’s early for that), my NIPT blood draw AND a flu shot. I was at the medical center for 3 hours 😆. After that I came home and took a solid 2 hour nap. Exhaustedddddd does not even begin to describe it.
@laketide I know I don’t know what I was thinking. Probably could have done with the flu shot on a different day…
@MrsLaLaBug UGH I just got my results on mychart and my range was 140. Normal is 130-135 so I’m low key expecting a call from my doctor. I think I was pre-diabetic prior to getting pregnant — covid was just so challenging for me wfh and homeschooling and I put on about 40-50 pounds in the course of 18 months from stress eating and changes in lifestyle. Trying to stay positive and just keep making good choices. It’s hard though when pregnant and you want an occasional treat!
Omg @tacosandtums I swear I’m not a weirdo but literally I could have written that myself… I was homeschooling my kids all thru 2020 and Rona took its toll on my weight too. I was already overweight before it started and had hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and was also pre-diabetic. I was outta control and my health was horrible. I had weight loss surgery in February of this year. Now boom… pregnant. Hoping I don’t undo all the hard work I’ve done after the surgery LOL.
@happynapper it’s the worst. And of course my husband keeps eyeing me bc they’ve already gotten bigger and I’m always like “don’t even THINK about it” 😂😂😂
@tacosandtums shocked is an understatement. I actually have an appt with my surgeon tomorrow morning - I had to notify him I was pregnant. I’m hoping I don’t get scolded or hear some kind of crazy horrible things to just give me anxiety lol! You aren’t supposed to get pregnant after WLS until at least 12-18 months afterwards. 🥴🥴
Anyone else starting to get swollen lymph node(s) under the armpit? I know i had one or two while i was BF DD and it came and went during our BF journey but now I’m like…where did this come from and why here so soon?
@pajamstagrams If you have epsom salts and a sitz bath, you could also try that. I think Preparation H is also allowed, but you may want to double check. And Miralax, although again not sure if that's allowed during pregnancy (obviously allowed post-pregnancy). I have chronic hemorrhoids, so sending you lots of sympathy on the reappearance of yours! They suck.
Me again. So um, apparently I've already started to waddle, and I haven't even hit 15 wks. I made DH assess the situation and he said my attempt to not waddle was marginally successful but it looked like I was trying *really* hard (I was lol). 😩 I suppose I waddled early 2nd trimester with DD too, but damn, my body is just determined to out me super early.
@pajamstagrams you’re not. I’m a couple weeks behind you but when I eat too much I’m def already waddling. LOL! I’m hoping my poor back doesn’t start acting up like it did with last pregnancy. So far so good 🤞🏻
RLP has been strong lately. Not sure if it’s from all the walking we did on vacation or what. Everything seems to be happening sooner this time around so I bet I will be waddling soon too @pajamstagrams.
Re: Symptoms-November

also, I’m exactly 13 weeks (second pregnancy), and I think I felt a kick! Too soon?
And yay for a kick!! 💜

Please tell me I'm not the only one!
