@elle-0409 so sorry to hear you are going through the same thing. That seems to be the consensus of everyone so I hope my doc agrees next week. At that point it’ll be 4 weeks of no growth and I already feel like it’s too long for them to help me help my body heal and let this (very wanted) pregnancy go.
It’s been a few days since I’ve been here. Still haven’t actually m/c yet. Went back this morning and it was confirmed that there was just yolk sac and no fetal pole. Will likely start the process this week and if not, will take the medication next Tuesday to induce it.
Thank you all for the support in the early months of this pregnancy. Praying for happy and healthy babes for all of you wonderful ladies 💞
Thanks all. I was able to get in for a US this morning. Looks like it's an sch! I haven't had one before so I'm still a little freaked out but I know they're common. Baby was doing just fine in there ☺️
@morgantu so glad they got you in so quick and baby is doing good! I had a sch with DS and I bled on an off till about 12w and then it resolved itself, so sorry you had such a stressful morning especially with PGAL, but so glad you got a great answer!
I'm pregnant with twins (first pregnancy) and started dark-brown spotting Sunday night. Went in for an ultrasound Monday and found both babies doing fine and measuring on target (8w6d) with heartbeats of 178 each. However, the tech did find a "perigestational bleed" which got diagnosed as a subchorionic hemorrhage. It looked pretty small compared to the gestational sac but it still has me SO nervous. Has anyone else had this before? Any tips on how to get it to go away? I'm trying to stay positive and take this all day by day but my anxiety is really eating away at me.
@calby10 yes, there are several of us on the board with Subchorionic hematomas. My OB has me on bed rest for mine until the end of first tri. Hopefully yours resolves and doesn't give you much trouble or stress!
@morgantu@calby10 yay for both of you, I had a SCH scare a couple weeks ago - lots of strong cramping and bleeding that lasted for about two weeks. Still have some cramping and spotting. SCH is still there, but weekly ultrasounds show baby growing as expected with a strong heartbeat!
I was so nervous, but it seems like it’s somewhat common - Though very scary!
We had our first OB appt yesterday and they were not worried at all. So reassuring. They just encouraged me to rest and stay present in the moment. All is looking good with the twins and they said they expect the SCH to resolve on its own soon. Staying hopeful!
@calby10 I have an SCH. It started as bright red bleeding at 7 weeks and then turned brown snd continued into week 9. It’s been about 2 weeks until I last bled, but my doctor just told me to avoid sex, strenuous exercise, or lifting anything. If your doctor isn’t worried all is probably fine! Just don’t get discouraged if the bleeding/spotting keeps up for a few weeks.
Last night suddenly had a gush of dark red blood that has lasted through the night. Coincidentally my 12 week appt was rescheduled to this morning. Im waiting to go back now to see what’s going on. At almost 13 weeks im thinking maybe placenta previa since the bleeding is painless. I was able to easily find baby with the doppler last night which was reassuring, but im still terrified.
Thank you all for the thoughts. The bleeding has slowed to just spotting now. Midwife did a quick ultrasound and didnt see anything that stood out to her. Best news was that baby was extremely active, rolling around, and stretching their legs out 😭 pelvic rest for 2 weeks and if the bleeding starts again spontaneously I’ll go in for an official ultrasound for the radiologist to read.
Those of you who have (or have previously had) a subchorionic hematoma - how long did you have spotting and cramping for?
I’m 16 weeks now, and have had light spotting and cramping on and off since the hematoma was discovered at 8-9 weeks. They’ve still been able to find a heartbeat, and I haven’t had any big bleeds, so my doctor wasn’t concerned.
Last week I had a few days of very light spotting, and on Saturday had a bit more than spotting - like the first day of your period. No bleeding since then, but I’ve had on and off cramping that ranges from mild to quite intense.
I called in yesterday, and the doctor wasn’t able to find a heartbeat with the Doppler. I was sent for blood work, and go for an ultrasound this afternoon.
At home last night, and this morning, I was able to find a heartbeat with my Doppler. 145 bpm. I’m feeling lost as to what on earth is going on! Perhaps this is the norm for this pregnancy, or the norm for a hematoma? She checked yesterday and my cervix was closed - so where is the blood coming from?
@goldfishcraker Thank you! Were the doctors concerned about the larger bleeds? Mine didn’t seem to be, as the hematoma remained small. But it’s so nerve wracking when they happen, it’s hard not to think the worst!
That must have been difficult with DS, though I imagine after awhile you start to know what is typical for that pregnancy, and how much bleeding should prompt a call to your doctor.
@Jeenyus how stressful. I'm so sorry you're going through this and especially that you had to wait for an ultrasound. I'm so glad you were able to find the heartbeat yourself. For my SCH, i did have a couple more significant bleeds in the beginning, but they quickly turned to brown blood and spotting. My dr told me not to be concerned unless the bleeding was sustained bright red, heavy, and if there was significant cramping. I hope you get a great view of baby today!
@Jeenyus I'm so sorry you are going through this! I have no experience with hematoma while pregnant, I've only had one after a D&C so not even remotely the same. I'm shocked that your doctor sent you home before locating the heartbeat and I'm so so glad you were able to find it on your own. Sending all positive thoughts your way and hoping for a great update after your ultrasound today ❤❤❤

My SCH still hasn't entirely resolved. I had 3 larger bleeds so far, but I've been lucky and haven't had any spotting in 4 weeks.
I'm told some people spot theough their whole pregnancy. I spotted through most of mine with DS.
I'm glad you were able to find the HB! I hope the US is reassuring today! Keep us updated!
