I had some light/bright red spotting when I went to the bathroom today. Not a ton, only when I wiped. I’ve gone a few times and it seems to *hopefully* be tapering off but it scares me bc I had a mc last fall. So far no cramping although my back has been a little sore the past couple of days. I’m 7 weeks today and don’t have my OB appointment for 2 more weeks. I’m also supposed to be going camping this week so this is throwing a real curve ball into those plans as well. I’m currently accepting all good vibes sent my way!
@luckyduck42@Panaceia@goldfishcraker thank you all so much! I messaged my OB’s office and the nurse got all of my info to let the dr review so I’m hoping I will get a message back from her soon. The bleeding turned into a couple “gushes” but I still didn’t bleed heavily and there were no clots. It also only went on for a few hours and has since stopped so I’m hopeful that everything is still ok!
Update: I saw my lab results on the portal and didn’t think they looked very promising. I tried to mentally prepare myself for the bad news by doom scrolling, which was 100% the wrong thing to do. A few hours later, the doctor’s office called and the nurse said that my doctor felt really good about my numbers. I have another blood draw on August 9, and an ultrasound on August 10. I asked the nurse, “Are you sure the numbers are not rising too slowly?” She said the doctor was happy, so I’m trying to be happy too.
@elle-0409 oh yay! That’s great news! Sending you good vibes and hoping that your numbers keep going up and keep your mind at ease.
Update: besides a few gushes of blood (no clots) my bleeding continued lightly, on and off all night and this morning. Dr just got back to me and told me she is ordering me an ultrasound for sometime in the next week and that she thinks this is most likely a subchorionic hemorrhage/implantation bleeding. She said it happens in about 30% of pregnancies so fingers crossed that’s all it is. Since my symptoms have seemed to lessen I’m still not convinced it’s not a miscarriage but I’m going to take her at her word and hope for the best! Very glad an ultrasound will give us answers either way.
@elle-0409 I believe there is a threshold (in percentage ) that the number has to rise to by. Ideally you want it to double but if goes up by whatever the “magic percentage” is they consider it viable. I’ll see if I can find it 😊
@btate01 I hope that you can get in for the ultrasound soon. I'm glad that your doctor is going to help you find some clarity. Try to take it easy if you can.
@Nik102 Thanks! I googled and found some threshold info, but I feel like I'm right on the cusp of it. If I read it right. I am very clearly not a doctor.

I finally got in for an ultrasound and we saw a heartbeat!!! Baby was measuring exactly on time at 6+0. No sign of an SCH, so the NP didn't know what caused the bleeding, but embryo looks happy and healthy.
I really hadn't thought I was going to get good news today, there had been so much blood on Monday. I am so incredibly happy and relieved.
*update my hcg levels aren't rising, they're decreasing. Hcg is 57866 (im 7 weeks 3 days) but I doubt they go up. Im also not sure what they were when I went to the hospital but they nurse at my ob told me they dropped a bit. They tested my levels again today to make another comparison. I'm not feeling hopeful but I will tell more once I find out what's going on.
I started spotting a little today .. I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow. The spotting is brown and fairly light at this point, without cramping. It’s been happening now for a couple of hours. Does anyone have an experience of spotting around this time and having a successful pregnancy? This is my first time being pregnant
@knottie86d9ac5a500e40ad Spotting, especially brown, is common between 5 to 7 weeks and often no cause for concern. I would definitely still call your doctor, but there are many people with Spotting around this time who go on to have normal and successful pregnancies. FX it's nothing and it stops soon ❤
I went to put my progesterone in, and the applicator came out covered in blood.
And now I'm cramping.
I've been bawling my face off for 40 min
I don't have a good feeling about this. I don't have much hope. I've been down this road too many times. But I had such a good feeling that this little one would be sticky.
@goldfishcraker Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry! Are you able to go to the ER and get checked out? Sending everything positive I have your way and so much hope that baby is ok ❤
@goldfishcraker oh no, I'm so sorry. I know how much that hurts. I agree with others about an ER, because the waiting game is brutal. I will be thinking of you.
Re: ***TW*** Spotting/Bleeding/Threatened Loss Support Thread
ETA spotting between 5 to 7 weeks is common and totally normal! FX it doesn't come back!!!
@elle-0409 how are you doing? Did you get your blood work back?
