March Appointments Thread

Re: March Appointments Thread

  • @halfanewt I think I am just going to do it tomorrow to get it over with. I am worried that doing them so close together is going to skew the results but I don’t want to wait until next week either.
@akoros Ugh sorry you are doing it too!
@sgrn18 That is a lot of appointments! At least you will not be overlooked!

  • @ramzlau if I was working and doing all those appts I’d be pretty annoyed but right now it’ll give me a reason to get out of the house at least lol.  Plus they are letting spouses back in for ultrasounds so MH will finally get to lay eyes on this babe.

I had my midwife check up today. Blood pressure was low as usual and good. Baby heartbeat between 130-140. Uterus is 1 inch above belly button and all was great!

Scheduled my 28 week Appt. We will check the baby’s RH status to see if the shot is needed or not and I will have a 3D/4D ultrasound then! Can’t wait to see kiddo.

I also scheduled my Appt with an OB on 03/31 to assess my eligibility for c/s vs VBAC. But my file says that if baby is the same size or bigger than my son then c/s. 😅😅

  • GD test came back negative for me too. DS#2's heartbeat fluctuated between the 140's and 150's yesterday and everything looks good. Now, it's appointments every two weeks.
  • Well, I have my 2 hour GD test on Monday and I'm nervous about it. Its my first time ever doing one. I have to fast and I really don't want to drink this sugary drink. I sure hope I pass and not feel sick after it.🙏
  • @mindyb2019 Put the drink in the fridge - I find it's much easier to drink really cold. I had the fruit punch flavor this time and it wasn't terrible. Good luck!!
  • @mindyb2019 My drink also wasn't terrible, but like @rvamom90 mentioned mine was ice cold which probably helped
  • @mindyb2019 put the drink in the fridge and use a straw. It goes down much faster when you use a straw.

  • GD test came back good thankfully!  I was so scared it was going to be bad since baby has consistently measured ahead and my appetite had been obnoxious the past week.

Anyone done a nst before?  Is that the one where they does the contraction and kick counts thing?
  • @sgrn18, yes had quite a few with my son! Usually one to measure contractions and one to measure heart rate and activity/movement of the baby.

  • @AKuzReve how long are you hooked up for?
  • @sgrn18 Yes I had one every other day with DD for the last few weeks. I think it was 15 min? Maybe 30. It always went so fast for me and I was happy for the chill moment in my crazy days.
  • I think the routine ones are quick 15-30 mins. Mine were because I had a 3 week period where my son’s heart rate dropped (went down to like 110-112) and his movements slowed a ton and some days would stop entirely. So those were quite long (1 hour). We almost induced and then he went back to normal right when we were having the induction appointment. Dramatic from the womb.

  • Ok, just finished my 2 hour glucose test at the lab. Ugh so glad that is over with. I hate needles and had to be poked 3 separate times 😖 It hurts. Im tired and hungry and have a headache from drinking all the surgery drink. Where I live they actually got rid of all the flavors and this one I drank had no flavor and was gluten free blah blah blah.. lol I'm sorry but it still kinda had a Taste. It kinda tasted drinking a crazy sweet pancake syrup which wasn't great on an empty stomach from fasting. I dont think the baby liked it that much as he was kicking and squirming around like crazy in there right after for a while. It was probably like whoa sugar overload lol Now to wait for my test results. I should hear back on the next day or 2. FX I pass and don't have GD!
  • UGH. I am coming up on my 28 week appointment, which is always the bane of my existence! GTT and Rhogam shot in the booty. I am dreading it!!

  • So my appointments for March went from just that first one to now multiple in the next week. Adding PT for pelvic floor, MFM for diabetes. Will see what this means for appointments for the last trimester!
  • @ashaislurking that’s great news about baby’s choriod plexus cysts. I hope you are able to get your psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis under control.

  • @mindyb2019 The nausea/vomiting/diarrhea -typically- only comes along with iron toxicity. Constipation can DEFINITELY be a side effect of taking iron supplements. You may consider talking to your OB about using a daily stool softener or fiber supplements if the iron causes this for you. I personally like Slow Fe iron supplements. The slow release seems to work better for my body. I used to struggle with anemia (but strangely enough it has never been an issue for me in pregnancy- my ObGyn is baffled by this).

  • @mindyb2019 I take iron supplements- usually I'm ok if I do 5 days a week it's of daily, but I am going for an iron infusion on Friday so maaaaaybe don't take my advice LOL. I find it makes me constipated the first week or two and then my body adjusts and I become very regular. I take it at times when I'm not pregnant too and it's the same. Calcium can affect how your body absorbs it, so make sure you're not drinking a cup of milk with it (I am taking calcium supplements this round bc of the blood thinners I'm on so I think that's why my iron's been low). I typically take mine in the middle of the day after lunch or a bit after dinner so that I have some food in my stomach. GL!
  • @mindyb2019 I was on iron with DS and they have me starting again now. I found the elemental iron (specifically the ferro-sequels brand if you’re looking on Amazon or something) to be easiest to tolerate. The other kind made me super nauseous. Check with your doc, though, as they may have to adjust the dosing since it’s a different kind.
  • I’m on the iron train now too. Ughhhh. My doctor recommended a liquid version called Floridex bc it’s easier on the stomach. Tastes like butt.

It’s been a day. Low on iron, failed my 1 hour, my toddler has me hanging on by a thread. I’m praying tomorrow is better.
  • @mc0303 I hope today is a better day for you! The toddler shenanigans can be rough on top of an already trying day.
  • @ashaislurking so glad the cysts resolved themselves. It's so nice to have that worry of your mind!

  • @mc0303 My OB recommend a brand of iron pills but I cant find them anywhere as there all sold out at every place and I guess there is a manufacturers shortage so they dont know when they will bring more in. Great!! 😒 So now im on on Floradix too but the pill/tablet form as I heard the liquid tastes like ass lol
  • Had my 28 week today and all went good! Baby is measuring a few days ahead with estimated weight at 2 lbs 14 Oz.  And we could see hair growing! Also had GD test so will wait for results on that and got my tdap booster.

Talked to my doc about my hip pain and she thinks it's probably being made worse by my little guy hanging out so low so she said to try a maternity belt and if that doesn't help they will refer me for pelvic floor therapy.

Next appointment at 32 weeks, twice a week until 36 and weekly from there.  Also adding NST starting at week 36.
  • 28 week appointment today. I’m measuring 33 weeks🤪 so they are scheduling an ultrasound to check on her size. I’m not too worried though, I’m only 5’0 and DH is 6’4 so there’s not much room in me for her to grow in.

They did schedule my csection and tubal for June 1st but I’m about 98% sure she’ll be born before that. I never make it to my 39 week csection date and my babies come sometime in week 38.

They gave me my TDAP shot and I have to get 3rd trimester labs and glucose test done this weekend. Next appointment will be at 32 weeks.
  • I did my 3 hr glucose test this morning 🤢 It actually made me super nauseous. I had to keep myself from vomiting every where. Hope that’s not a bad sign 🙈
  • Thyroid results back and it’s still good! 0.69 and my FT4 is down to 14.8! Going to get my tdap tomorrow, I think.

  • Have my 3-hour glucose test tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to it
  • @mc0303 glucose test alwayyyyyys make me super sick. It usually puts me out for the whole day.
  • @ramfam2507 it’s weird bc I’ve usually been fine with the 1 hr ones but today sucked! Plus I’m achy from my Covid vaccine yesterday and feel like overall crap 💩
  • @mc0303, I hope you pass!!
