No swing in the box :/

DH and I finally got around to putting the baby swing together that we had received from one of my showers. When we opened the box, there were sweaters, a blanket, and newspapers in the box. It looks like someone had purchased the swing, kept it, and then filled the box to return it. I just couldn't believe someone would do this. And if this isn't sad enough - I looked to see who bought us the swing, so I could get the gift receipt - yep, my MIL and SIL. My MIL was so upset. She said that she thought she had thrown the receipt away. So DH and I are going to go to Target and show them the box and my registry. I doubt they will replace it, but we still wanted to let them know that we're not the only ones who got scammed and that they need to be careful. I would hate for another couple to go through this. This was so disappointing.

That is awful, but Target is pretty good about that stuff. If your MIL doesnt have her receipt, then you may need the credit card it was purchased with - they can look it up. If I were you, I'd go to Target with your MIL (if she is nearby) and throw a fit... if they dont replace it, ask for a manager and get really mad because that is THEIR problem, and you they should have opened the box when it was returned to make sure the swing was in there. If you are adament enough, they will replace it with the right product.

That's horrible. If you MIL and SIL charged it they maybe be able to dispute it with the charge card company. Gl hope one of them does something for you.

My sister had kindof the same problem with a bike she brought my niece from target.com. She opened the bike to put it together before christmas (it was a santa present) and half the bike was missing. She said she could tell someone had returned it by the way it was taped up but still Target should have checked it. Target did take hers back through.
