Found both accounts now! Can’t wait to see the collab! Such an awesome opportunity!

I told DS1 about being pregnant tonight because I was curled up next to the fridge and he’s going “mommy puke in the trash can” and asking me why I don’t feel good. DH is away working so it’s been a struggle. He immediately goes “YAY TWINS” and “what are we going to name them”. Like whoa kid slow down do you know something I don’t? Still have 3 more weeks before my first in person appt.
We told our parents they could start telling people last night. My mom has been dying to tell people. She said she was going to my grandma's today. I'm not announcing on FB for a while, but I did tell my bosses and coworkers today. I won't be 12 weeks until tomorrow, but I figured with the positive ultrasound yesterday it didn't really matter anymore. I have my OB appointment tomorrow and then really won't get an update on the babies until 20 weeks since my 16w appt is a phone call.
@grizzlymama86 that is the most extra thing I’ve ever read and I loved it! Blown away by the time and attention everyone put in - so great! how old is your son?
@runningonindie we have a Telluride too and I love it. And dammit, why is Hatch so expensive? I wfh now and am in sweats 100% of the time so have no business buying mat clothes right now but so tempting.
@whatabout2ndbreakfast how old is your son? We haven’t told our kids yet! And don’t plan to for a while but they’re little.
@Centralmnmom yay on 12 weeks! I’ve got 5 more days. I’m really counting down to 14/15 as I think that’s when I can wean myself off the diclegis and truly consider it second trimester. So close but yet so far.
We had a ton of snow again today and DS2’s school closed early. Worried they’ll close tomorrow too but hoping not. I am supposed to see a new OB tomorrow and they called today with a weather hotline to check tomorrow before my appt in case they’re not open. I’ve been trying to switch to a local OB for almost two months and it’s been a nightmare.
@Centralmnmom I always have to tell someone else when I tell my mom so she has someone to talk to about it. My SIL lives right next door, so I usually tell her.
@agea He'll be 9 in just over two weeks (eek!), so he's super pumped. He thought he was going to be an only child forever lol. Hope you got to have your OB appt today and it went well!
this group has been a nightmare to get into but had really good reviews. I didn’t want to officially switch over before meeting the doctors because the call center and admin have been so atrocious. It’s a huge multi-practice multi-location group and I just so happened to book with one of two doctors who is the administrator for the whole thing (I had no idea). When I told her about my horrible experience getting an appointment she was floored and irate. She was like, I literally want to cry hearing this and fire everyone involved. Then checked call logs and shot off angry emails while I sat there. It was amazing. So I’m deciding if I want to switch to them now or finish up my next several/already booked appts with my old OB. I’m comfortable with my old OB but they’re no longer convenient at all. decisions, decisions.
@marymh80 my mom knows the drill on keeping the secret. We told them round 8 weeks with DD and my sister told them right away because her bf travels lot for work and she had gone through a miscarriage so she wanted someone else to know incase something happened. Thankfully it didn't and I have a 3 year old nephew. It's funny though my dad is actually more the one I would have to worry about spilling the beans. One of my infertility nurses is in their friend group and he tried to bring it up to her at one of their get togethers after we told them. Sandy, their friend, of course denied talking to me. My mom goes "we are not talking about this right now" she said she must have said it in a certain tone because nobody brought it back up lol.
I think we are going to tell DS1 today! He's 5 and he will be soo excited - he's been asking for another baby since DS2 was a few weeks old. After we tell him we will probably let him to my parents tonight or tomorrow and then everyone (well all our family) will know! We told all my husband's side of the family last week and my in laws are so excited! This will be baby #12 on his side of the family and it's so nice that everyone is just as excited as they were for baby #1.
I’m loving having a posterior placenta. It’s already proving to be fun and exciting. I have felt movement 3 times now. It happens when I’m sitting still eating breakfast or nursing my baby. There is no mistaking it though. This is what I usually feel at 13 weeks with an anterior placenta. I hope this baby is really active and I get to feel tons of movement and not just pressure and kicks.
@emeraldcity1214 so exciting! Can't wait to feel movement. How do you know you have a posterior placenta? Is that atypical? My doctor never tells me details like that. I love him but he's super to the point/snarky. I asked him what the baby's heart rate was at my last ultrasound and he said "it's got a heartbeat and that's all that matters."
Today, after laying around for like a month like a sloth, I actually woke up, cleaned my house and did laundry. We told my immediate family about the baby last night and I already feel like this huge weight has lifted. Maybe that's why I have energy?? Anyway It's so nice to actually be able to share the excitement with other people.
Naturally, after announcing to the fam and saying "we haven't gone facebook official with this news yet" about 19 times, my brother in law hopped on FB and spilled the beans. He took the post down after I reminded him, but 😑😑😑
@kissyfir1586 The US tech told me at my second US. I also get told the heart rate. In fact, I asked my OB at least 3 times last time because I couldn’t seem to remember. Your doctor doesn’t sound like he has good bedside manner. If he is like this during an appointment, think about what he will be like while you’re laboring. If I were you I would seriously consider finding a new OB. My dad spilled the beans once on FB with one of my other pregnancies. 🙄 I don’t announce on social media until the baby is born. I don’t even post pics of me where you can tell I’m pregnant. I most certainly don’t do there “bump updates “ with weekly pics and stats on FB either. I don’t know why but I cringe when I see that on my feed.
@kissyfir1586 your doctor sounds like a dick. I had an 11w scan yesterday and found out I have a posterior placenta for the first time. The ultrasound tech told me. I’d think you could ask at one of your bigger scans like a nuchal or anatomy- just depending on what your appts are. Also BIL sounds like an idiot- who shares someone else’s news on social media- I hate that, the worst! But glad the family was excited for you!
@emeraldcity1214 yikes that sucks about your dad spilling the beans. Whoops! I don't think I'll be posting much except that the baby is coming and when the baby is actually born. I'm not much for social media, tbh, but it is a handy way to tell everyone at once.
@agea my OB is typically good, he delivered my past two babies so I guess there's loyalty there... but every once in a while he says something that just makes me cringe. His bedside manner could use some work, just depends on the day. I'm going to push for more details at my future ultrasounds. These things interest me even if they're not make or break details. And yes, my brother in law IS an idiot. 😂 We knew in advance that if anyone would blab it'd be him...
@emeraldcity1214 That is awesome!! Now I'm going to be paying attention really hard to see if I can feel anything soon! I'm having lots of bubbly stuff happening, but it's mostly happening too high up, so I'm 99% sure it's just gas/my organs starting to get moved up and around a little bit. With my first, I didn't post on facebook at all until baby was born, but posted a few pictures where my bump was noticeable on my private instagram. This time, we might do more of an announcement since we aren't seeing many people in person these days, and have a few groups of friends and family we don't interact with much anymore, in places where we used to live, but who I really like to keep up with via Facebook. If we do, it won't be until probably third tri, though.
@kissyfir1586 Noooo!!!! That is so not ok to violate the social media rule before the person who owns the news! I would be livid. Glad you got some energy! I've been feeling some sporadic energy too and it's been really nice!
Yesterday and today I've been busy cleaning out our master bedroom. It's been a kind of "holding space" for junk since summertime, when we moved ourselves upstairs after that part of our reno was (mostly) completed. But for months my husband and I have been sleeping in separate beds because I CAN'T STAND the mattress in our guest room and my 6yo won't go to sleep alone. We have 2 beds in my son's room, so I've just been sleeping in there, but we know we need to start working on getting him to sleep alone, so we finally just ordered ourselves a bed for our master!! We've wanted to upgrade to a king size bed for years, and now we finally have the space to do it. Originally we were going to wait until we had finished our master bathroom, but I think we have enough reason to do it well before baby arrives, so we did it! The new bed frame is here, new sheets and bedding are here (we splurged on Brooklinen and I'm stoked), and we're now just waiting on the mattress. We're generally pretty thrifty, but we both agreed that if we can splurge on something it's a good mattress and bedding because sleep is so important, and isn't coming easily to either one of us at the moment. I'm so excited to have our bedroom clean and organized again, though of course we still have to completely build out the bathroom, so it's not our dream master suite just yet. Currently the "master bathroom" is just a small empty room with a bare subfloor and old panelling stuck up on the walls temporarily. We still have to plumb it and buy all the fixtures, drywall, new window, tile, literally everything, there was no bathroom there before. It's going to be a big project, but we've already built one bathroom from scratch in this house, so it'll hopefully go a little faster than that one did. It won't be done by the time the baby is here, but I'm just really hoping that we can at least start it before the baby arrives.
@Aerialmrs a king size mattress is everything, congrats on the major upgrade. We went with Brooklinen when we moved in august and I really like them. but ugh, that master bath sounds like a major project. Hope you can get it started soon.
@agea Definitely a huge project! I'm ok with most of it except the drywall is just the absolute worst. It makes EVERYTHING dirty and since it's mostly likely that we won't get to it until after baby is here, it probably means that I'll have to take both kids to my parents' house on my own for a week or two while my husband stays behind to get it all done as quickly as possible. Blerg.
@kissyfir1586 sorry your BIL almost spilled the beans. So not cool. And yes you're doctor's bedside manner could use some work, but if you're comfortable with him that's all that matters.
@Aerialmrs we have a catch all room that will be the nursery. I know I need to start cleaning it out, but just don't have the energy right now. At least I painted it they way I wanted 3 years ago so I don't need to worry about that.
@emeraldcity1214 I have been really proud of this group for how low drama it has been. The Bump boards are known for their drama. My Feb16 board had some drama queens. Luckily they didn't come over to our FB group.
We have a great weekend at GWL. Started out with a few meltdowns because we got there right around afternoon snack time so then hangry almost 5 year old was having her moment. Once we got some food into her we enjoyed the rest of the weekend drama free.
@Aerialmrs what kind of mattress did you get? We are also fairly thrifty, we got a queen size bed over a year ago but are still using our full size mattress 😬
@emeraldcity1214@Centralmnmom off I go to lurk! My last BMB was really low drama, except for a few wild one offs. Like towards the end this rando came and shared about how she deliberately rented a hotel room to birth her baby? I’ll have to go check if the thread is still there. It was wild. Luckily our process to going to fb was pretty solid and no drama followed us there.
One girl went all “you’re a bully!” on someone else. 🤣 Plus she went off on how bad the covid vaccine is on their vaccine thread. Same girl. I find it interesting she is the center of all their drama.
@whatabout2ndbreakfast We got a Tuft & Needle hybrid. It's not here yet, so I don't know how we like it yet, but we got it because I don't feel great about laying down on mattresses in store in regular times, so during COVID I can't even deal with the thought. T&N does the 100 night trial so we can get a full refund if we decide we don't like it within 100 days.

@emeraldcity1214 I laughed at your comment on the bully thread.
