How are you feeling?: Tired. And my belly started itching. And achy
Rants/Raves: we bought a new couch!!!
Questions: other moms who were IUGR, did you find yourself anxious ahead of every scan and counting down until your goal date? I'm on the edge of every appt wondering if this time there going to be like, OK... We're delivering this baby. If she's developing normal, but small... They will just leave her in right? They'll only pull her out before 35w (my goal) if she in distress? SOs nephew was severely growth restricted and they yanked him at 33w. He weight just over 2lbs. (Zoe is already close to 3)
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? With my last pregnancy I was told that there would be something wrong because I'm over 40 and the tests were wrong and don't work. Shockingly, the tests were correct, and everything was fine. THIS pregnancy, SO got asked why we would consider doing such a thing at our age, and was it planned?

How are you feeling?: sciatica sucks and I am experiencing some insomnia 😴
Rants/Raves: DH had a staff meeting last week and the head pastor was asking for updates on family members. DH mentioned that I wasn’t feeling great most days, and that I was kind of lonely and bummed since I practically never see adults anymore. Thanks to that, I had a couple of the staff ladies bring us lunch last week and another pastor’s wife invited us over for lunch today. I feel like they’re kind of sympathy invites, but I also will take what I can get because I have been super lonely. 🤷🏻♀️
Questions: none today!
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
When I was pregnant with DD1, we were at a different church with a lot a lot a lot of older people. All of these women gave me advice that they remembered from their pregnancies, decades ago. Most of them told me I wasn’t gaining enough weight. One told me to “eat until my cheeks get fat.” 🤦🏻♀️
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pineapple
Upcoming appointments: next Tuesday
How are you feeling?: overall not too bad
Rants/Raves: work rant: I applied to use restricted NCES education data in December. They approved my request and bc it's the federal government and it takes forever to do/change anything, finally shipped it out on 1/25 via USPS, on a CD. First of all, it's ridiculous that they still require restricted data to be delivered via CD. Second, the disc needed to travel from NCES, in DC, to my university, also in DC. It has yet to arrive. I'm pretty frustrated since I would love to make some progress with this data before taking the summer off to take care of this baby.
Questions: Any other STM getting super emotional about their first child growing up/about to not be an only child? I know it will be good for him to have a sibling (especially because he is getting pretty bossy/spoiled lately) but I am so sad to think of how recently he was a newborn and how much he has changed/is changing all the time, and how much of a shock this new baby will be for him. I'm excited to have the new baby of course but I'm also anxious about having enough time and energy to devote to him. I have started crying about this pretty frequently, and am especially sad to send him to daycare in the morning right now. This is probably partially because I'm frustrated with how work is going (see above rant) so I'd rather just be spending time with him. It's also probably partially due to hormones. But I'm having a hard time staying even keeled about it.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
This time I haven't really gotten many comments since I'm mostly just home all the time. My husband (who goes to work) has had a lot of people make comments about us having a girl this time. Our first is a boy. He's gotten comments about why it's good to have a boy then girl, or to have one of both, or something to the effect of "now you are done!" I'm glad we're having a girl too and I'm pretty sure we will be done after this one, but I don't get why people feel the need to comment on baby sex/our family planning at all.

How are you feeling?: still hanging out at “fat and tired”
Rants/Raves: As of today we are flying solo, both WFH without childcare. Disney + is getting a lot of action.
Questions: none
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
I don’t think I’ve really even been around anyone to get ridiculous comments this time? The most ridiculous / offensive thing anyone ever said to me with my first (twins) was having their #1 question be “were you using fertility drugs?”. First of all, no. Second of all, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it if we had, so why are you asking, and it is no one’s business.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an acorn squash or a Hawaiian pineapple (is this different from a regular pineapple?)
Upcoming appointments: OB 2/18
How are you feeling?: Mostly just tired and full of indigestion. But the pain/soreness at my bellybutton is new, and is pretty annoying.
Rants/Raves: Back to WFH, which is great!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? I think an aunt or cousin made a comment to my mom like "Oh, well how old is she? Are the planning to have another? Better get on that as soon as this one's done." Like thanks, we only had a miscarriage and then tried for a year to be blessed this with little nugget, but yes you're right what were we doing with our time. *eyeroll*

How are you feeling?: Tired always, can't sleep through the night to save my life, and am always achy. The next person who tells me to "rest while I can" is going to get an earful lol.
Rants/Raves: Nothing that immediately comes to mind. My husband just made me a really good grilled cheese for lunch?
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? Nothing that I can really think of, other than my friend telling me not to eat whatever I wanted because I'd never be able to lose the baby weight if I did. Super comforting lol.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: acorn squash
Upcoming appointments: 2/11 for my now weekly growth scan and NST
How are you feeling?: Chubby, especially after yesterday's superbowl crap! And tired and some backpain popped up over the weekend. I wake up in the middle of the night with an intense need to roll my back out on a foam roller
Rants/Raves: Rant is hitting the pandemic wall....so, so bored and we've been having the coldest temps of the year this week so can't even get outside. I shouldn't be bored considering there is still a list of things to do before baby arrives like getting his clothes washed and 'area' organized (because we basically decided to shove him in the guest bedroom once he's out of our room). I did take my hospital bag out though and started throwing some things in - just so I can add to it as the time goes on!
Questions: NATM. @aisukurimsarang with my first i was diagnosed at the end so I didn't have a long lead up time to be aware of/concerned with what was going on like I am now. So I imagine i'll be in the same boat as you now that I'm having weekly scans. My OB told me they would try to get me as close to 37 weeks as possible and so long as the NSTs are looking good, would evaluate week to week. I have a level II scan of his abdomen scheduled at 32 weeks (soonest I could get on the hospitals schedule) so my thought is that they won't do anything before then...
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? I feel like i haven't heard much this time around, be it due to quarantine or just #2 in general! With my first I heard "You don't look pregnant at all!" throughout my entire pregnancy. It always bothered me in the back of my mind, like made me think something was wrong with the baby. Turns out they diagnosed IUGR at 36 weeks and I delivered a tiny but healthy baby 1.5 weeks early. DH always assured me that those comments were meant 'as a compliment', and I can kind of see that vs. the alternative but moral of the story is just DON'T make comments like that one way or the other, because every pregnancy and every person is different and you just never know what's going on.

Upcoming appointments: remote visit on 2/24, uneventful stretch for me (hopefully, of course)
How are you feeling?: pretty good right now over all, just feels like my belly is absolutely going to explode already so not sure how I'll make it another 10 weeks
Rants/Raves: I'm majorly struggling to put on socks/shoes and to get up from the couch (or whatever thing my kids having me sitting on...floor, nugget, kid size chairs, etc.). Also getting very difficult to help them get dressed or help change my son's diaper. My stomach is just very, very in the way.
Questions: Nothing. I'm very much in a boring phase right now. I don't have biweekly appointments for a while yet.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? lol I've heard a lot of doozies. Recently was my mom commenting about me getting my hair done. EYE ROLL. No one has started giving me unsolicited advice about how to start labor naturally this time, but with both DD and DS I heard every single thing imaginable. Try X, try Y, try Z, it worked for me! SUPREME EYE ROLL.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Acorn squash but can't we just start comparing them to little animals since they move around so much?
Upcoming appointments: 3/2 (after we will start our bi monthly appointments)
How are you feeling?: Oh man. Really not too good. The weather here has been crap, really cold and windy. The weekends are when I like to get outside and exercise but we didn't this weekend because of the weather. Since I usually go to my yoga studio or swim to exercise during the cold months (and can't due to the shutdown/covid) I am really neglecting my body. Getting more anxious and depressed (I think because of the lack of movement and endorphins). This weekend every night I have woken up at least 4 times (urge to pee and snoring husband) and couldn't get back to sleep. Oh and my third trimester sciatica is developing. I will try and schedule some nordic skiiing with my mom next weekend.
Rants/Raves: Rant-my husband has been really sweet and lovey dovey lately, which is really nice but I also feel bad because I have zero sex drive (all penetration is extremely uncomfortable at this point and every position makes me feel like a beached whale sorry if TMI). Rave- I can't believe we will see our babies so soon!
Questions: None.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? When I was pregnant with DD1 my mother in law told me that I couldn't lift anything in the first trimester or I would miscarry. I feel like this is just a wives tale no? I have lifted tons of things throughout my pregnancies and the worst thing that has happened is that I overstretched an ab muscle.
@BuckeyeNut05 oh man the WFH with no childcare is an adjustment. I tried to get DD1 into part time daycare after we moved (reached out before we actually moved) but couldn't find anything with openings. I figure everything with Covid this is the only time we'll be allowed to really do this and the lack of socialization and amount of TV isn't great but we get so much time with the kids. It's a trade-off (plus no daycare $$$ is nice even though we can afford it).
@emeraldisle17 oh man, the hospital bag packing!!! I am definitely not there yet but I went 39+6 and 40+5 with my 2 prior kids.
@juliebird6 haha I'm curious what everyone said and if anyone recommended sex! There's not much evidence behind most of those and I've never tried any despite being overdue with my second. I did dates to help with my cervix and RRL tea but that wasn't to try to start labor.
@anarmillay92918 wow, can't believe someone said that. Hopefully it was more reflective about their experience. Obnoxious either way. Also, for some reason I'm actually sleeping okay this time but I wish someone had told me how poor pregnancy sleep is before I got pregnant with my first! Once I passed first tri this time I started sleeping better and idk if it's the magnesium I'm taking before bed or what but hopefully you can get some rest soon! My first was a good sleeper and I slept better with her at 4 weeks old (she slept 10p-6a!) than I did that entire pregnancy!
@kadeephd I personally was more excited to be giving DD1 a sibling when I was pregnant but I have heard sooooo many moms say they feel the way you do in my previous BMBs and their kids are so cute together. It's okay to mourn their single-childness while still being happy you're adding to your family. But seriously, my 2 girls are the cutest together and it is so worth it Whenever we move over to another platform I will likely being sharing pics of their cuteness. Since they aren't in daycare they play with each other 24/7 and are legit best friends.
@aisukurimsarang no experience with IUGR but it sounds like you should have some more time since she's not at all a severe case (already 3lbs!!!).

How are you feeling?: Feeling good but my abs are definitely punishing me for 3 kids in 4 years. It is very hard to get up if I lean backwards at all. I try to roll to my sides but man, it's way worse than with my previous pregnancies (and I did not have DR postpartum with either).
Rants/Raves: I got sucked in and bought the Lovevery playmat b/c we are going to be spending lots of time at different locations this summer and I'm super excited about it. Definitely didn't feel like we could afford it with the first and didn't have space for how big it was (plus we already had one and had such a small apartment and no where else to go) with the second but between having a house and grandparents who will be vaccinated nearby, plus spending the summer at the lake houses, I think it'll be great and I'm disproportionately excited about how cute it is and all the little stuff it has.
Questions: Anyone know for sure if we get two amazon registry purchases with the completion discount? I think some ppl can make their first purchase now (ours is 2/20 and I need to buy a few things now for the current kids like more placemats, utensils, and the changing table for downstairs so I can stop getting on the floor to change DD2) but I'd like to wait to buy some of the other stuff, especially if we end up having a boy.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? I didn't tell my team I was pregnant until I was 23 weeks or so during our week of virtual team planning (after the anatomy scan - my boss knew around 16 or 17 weeks I think). Since we aren't finding out boy/girl, my boss asked if she could have everyone guess as one of our activities when we told them which was fine with me. MULTIPLE people said twins. At 5 months pregnant, I think I'd know by now if it were twins. Like others have said, not much opportunity here for obnoxious comments this time but we've been pretty lucky with very few comments in the past as well. I've had random ppl guess boy/girl. One was a stranger in a parking lot when I was almost full term with my first. My MIL told me with my first I was having a girl b/c of the way I'm carrying but DH insists she mixed up the wive's tale (old wive's tale is girls make you spread/gain more weight, etc.). He's probably right - I'm lucky enough to basically just have a basketball and look almost exactly like myself otherwise, especially with my first. I was just like "well that's a rude thing to say" still (only in my head and to DH).
@kvh22 haha it definitely didn't make me feel great, although I think (deep down) it was coming from a place of love? And definitely from her own experience which she struggled a lot with, so I get it in some ways. I feel like the one positive thing about quarantine for me personally is that I haven't had to deal with the "you look ready to pop!" or "you look like you're having twins!" comments - people really need to think before they speak!! Side note - not only are we apparently geographically close, but we have the same due date! I just noticed! What a coincidence!
@aguamala I so feel you re: sex drive. My husband constantly tells me that I'm attractive and really goes out of his way to make me feel loved even when I feel like I look like a troll, which you would think would be a real turn on. But I have ZERO desire (and really haven't for a WHILE) to have sex. I feel guilty about it, but also I remind myself that I'm growing a human and so I'm ok with it most of the time.
@aquamala, I've always had a really high sex drive while pregnant. I have ZERO drive this time. I'm so tired and fat and miserable. I rally for my partner, and am never left unsatisfie, but I could easily go without the whole pregnancy. I'm not on pelvic rest with my IUGR diagnosis, but I know he's paranoid about hurting the baby, and I'm not going to dissuade him from abstaining. I'd rather sleep.
@anarmillay92918 I noticed that and meant to mention it but forgot when my tags and post in general got so long.
My first pregnancy my sex drive was almost non-existent. Not the case for these last two although I was on pelvic rest with my subchroionic hematoma for 12 weeks with my second and was getting yeast infections (for the first and only time in my life - never had one before and has been fine since) so there were large chunks of time when we couldn't do anything last pregnancy.
@kvh22 Interesting! Maybe the breaks from it increased your drive? With my first pregnancy I had more of a drive but I think it's because 1. I was younger/didn't already have a toddler 2. we were long distance up until my 3rd trimester.

GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
I haven’t had too many comments, mostly because I work from home and didn’t start visibly showing until about 28 weeks. But it seems now that everywhere I go, strangers are asking me about my pregnancy. I was shopping at Target and the cashier stopped ringing up my items to give me advice on how to take care of my baby. 🙄
@kvh22 today I took the morning shift, and my husband the afternoon. Mine was uneventful, I guess my husband had to deal with changing a poopy diaper and getting balls thrown at his head while he was on a video call.

Upcoming appointments: Today was 32 week ultrasound and OB appointment, tomorrow is PT and acupuncture, NST + fluid check on Wednesday. Almost at weekly OB appointments which is crazy!
How are you feeling?: Since I started the metformin, my blood sugar numbers have been decreasing, which has me feeling way less stressed and much better! I've been having back pain and hip pain. DH keeps teasing me that every day I say a different body part "feels like it's out of its socket" but it does! haha, my hip, my shoulder, my wrist - literally a different body part all the time, but I just feel out of sorts constantly.
Rants/Raves: Major rant - I went to CVS to pick up refills of my test strips and my lancets for testing my blood sugar. The pharmacist told me that they had the test strips in stock but had to order the lancets and I could pick them up in 2 days. Two days later, I sent DH to pick them up. He went through the driveway, obviously has no idea what he's really picking up exactly or any of the details, just trying to save his 8-months-pregnant-wife a trip to the pharmacy. He comes home and I asked, out of curiosity, how much was the prescription? First time getting it filled so I was curious. $90, he said. Wow!! That's more than I was expecting. I go to look at the package and they gave him a 90 day supply of insulin, instead of the lancets!! Not at all what I needed and I'm not even taking insulin! I called the pharmacy immediately and they said, sorry since it's medication and he already left, there's nothing we can do. We asked if he had any questions about the medicine and he said no. WTF?! I was SO pissed. Today I drove there myself with the insulin and left with a refund. $90 for a medication that I don't even take!?!? I don't think so.
Questions: Anyone have any drawer organizers in their nursery dresser or changing table they particularly like?
@kvh22 I am also very excited about the Lovevery playmat!! Sooo many people had recommended it and it was the first gift that was purchased off of our registry! So many of our friends said they use it every single day and it was well worth the money!
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
Ummm, my MIL asked me if my orgasms were more intense when I was pregnant and if DH was afraid to have sex while I was pregnant LOL.
@theblondebump 😳 Ummmm, I can't believe your MIL said that. As for the playmate, babies spend so much time on them! And it has so many cute things to encourage their development which makes it much more all in one than the others I have (so will be the one I take places).
@aguamala In the no sex drive wagon too! I feel terrible as well because my hubby has been so sweet and attentive throughout this entire pregnancy but I just have no ‘oomph’ in that department. Annoying when I’m usually the one all about it but I’ve just accepted it’s probably gone for now. Lol.

Rants/Raves: My mom surprised us this week with a travel system and other baby odds n ends package! The car seat especially so I just love her extra for taking that off my shoulders and spoiling us!

GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? There’s a pretty big gap between this baby and my other two; my daughter will be 11 in August and my son will be 8 in November. We’ve gotten a lot of the “must have been an oops thanks to quarantine” comments. Little do they know we’d been trying before the world turned upside down. I stopped correcting the comments though, because then we’d get the “you guys are crazy to start over again purposely” comments.

Rants/Raves: rave- We found a super part time nanny for DS and she starts on Tuesday to help him get used to her. I’m so relieved to have found someone who seems like a perfect fit for him.
Questions:
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? Last week DS’ speech therapist said I look like I’m having twins. I assured her I’m not and she was like “you never know!” but, yeah... I’ve had plenty of scans. It’s just one. Plus, she’s only seen me on zoom so of course I look like a whale, I’m trying to sit at 4 year old level with him and I can barely get back up.
@theblondebump oh my gosh! If my MIL asked that I would die 😂 Of course my in laws deny the existence of sex. They never said a single word to DH about it while he was growing up. They probably figure we’ve had sex three times, once for each kid. 🤣

Questions:
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy?
You guys are so lucky to be avoiding comments. I work retail, so basically I am on display like a zoo animal (or a circus freak, more appropriately). Everyone comments on how huge I am. Like @forevertired I have also received the "You never know!" comment re: twins. Actually, I do know; there is only one baby in there, confirmed via ultrasound, but thanks. "What kind of moose do you have in there?!" Yep, that was an actual comment I received. And then there are dumb comments about the baby's sex: "It MUST be THIS because you are carrying like THIS." No, that's just what my body looks like. "It must be a boy because it's so active!" Yep, because girls wouldn't possibly kick as much in the womb. I'm way too much of a bitch to let these things go, either. It's going to be a long and exhausting three months.
@anarmillay92918@aguamala I feel you guys on the no drive. It seems like I'll have drive for a couple of days and then *poof* its gone. It's been pretty absent since getting pregnant tbh. I hope things return to more normal after delivery?
@theblondebump@kvh22 I'm so excited for the playmat too! We went ahead with the toy box subscription for the first year too. DH is an educator so I brought it to him and asked what he thought about it. We ended up ordering the whole package around Christmas; they had a deal if you bought a year subscription you got the playmat for $50 off or something. We'll see how it goes!
@riff323 I'm not sure what it is about pregnant people that makes people think they can comment on their bodies? Like I'm still a person living in society, where it is generally frowned upon to make any comments whatsoever about another person's appearance. I guess luckily for me, even my eyes convey my natural RBF, so no one has said anything about my size so far.
The size comments drive me up the wall. When I was pregnant with DD1 and teaching, I walked out of my classroom after school to take something to the office. A coworker outside my classroom said I hardly looked pregnant, that I wasn’t big enough. I walked to the office, 30 seconds away, and a coworker there said “whoa, you sure it’s not twins?!” So evidently I just exploded on that 30 second walk. I was so frustrated.
I get that people have their opinions - it’s hard to look at a pregnant person and not think about their belly I guess. But for the love of all that is good, keep it to yourself! 🤯
@bbrahmbhatt haha see I don't have RBF at all (as far as I know - DH definitely has it) yet no one has ever really commented about my size pregnant and I also have never gotten any of the obnoxious comments breastfeeding in public. I always used a cover with my first but I was more skilled at it without flashing people with DD2 and we went out a bit less than I did with DD1 so DD2 was not used to the cover and didn't like it (I was savoring the house being quiet while DD1 was at daycare whereas I was stir crazy on leave with my first so constantly going on long walks or meeting people for coffee or lunch or something). I've heard some doozies from friends in BMBs and my in person moms groups of comments from strangers about BFing in public.
@kadeephd STM with the same feelings about her first born. I look at him all the time and wonder how he's gotten so big and (recently) independent. He is a HUGE mama's boy, so I constantly worry about how he will take to sharing mama with a new baby. I do think daycare is great for him though-- he's learning, socializing, and getting more comfortable with not having mama right there by his side all the time. He enjoys it too, so that absolutely helps.

How are you feeling?: anxious since losing my mucus plug/starting to dilate. DH is in another state for training until the end of March. There is absolutely no chance he could come home unless something catastrophic happens (pre-term labor doesn't count..)
Rants/Raves: Not really either, but more of a funny tidbit.. DS (2yrs old) has recently gotten very interested in human anatomy and has asked about all his parts and pieces. Last night when putting on his diaper after bath he looked at me with the most serious face ever and said "mama, where penis go?" and held his hands up in that questioning/shrug position. I about lost it. He has asked several times what "it" was and I'd tell him, but that was the first time I ever heard him say penis.
Questions: NATM, just rolling with the punches.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? My favorite has to be the no lifting/no exercise kind of stuff. I am a dance teacher, so the nature of my job involves me rolling around like a rolly polly. So many people asked if I was going to quit my job or ask what I was going to do about my classes "in my condition"
@theblondebump That is so cringey. Why do MIL's think its okay to ask about their son's sex life? Once my MIL was staying with us and she asked DH if everything was good between us since she hadn't heard us have sex since she had arrived
@kadeephd I'm really excited to give my son a sibling - I think the pandemic has magnified that by 100x since he's had so much adult interaction and only fairly selective peer interaction. But I do get a little sad when I think about not being able to lift him. He's a big cuddler and likes to be carried a lot, even at 2.5 y/o... I've been trying to offer hand holding instead recently so it's not such a startle for him.

Upcoming appointments: OB appt in 2.5 hours.
How are you feeling?: Huge. Officially larger than when I gave birth to my first. Trying to stay neutral about it, but it's hard.
Rants/Raves: My bff had a loss back in December and had to take a couple months off for testing. She got her positive last week but started bleeding yesterday... got in for a same day appointment and baby looks healthy with fetal heart activity!! I'm so thrilled for her and hope this is her sticky baby.
Questions: none today
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? Not so ridiculous for the content, but the situation. I was working with a patient with a severe communication disorder last week. She has trouble with even simple verbal communication - yet she managed to ask me (using gesture and word substitutions) how far along I am. When I told her, she suggested I look at least 8-9 months pg. Very exciting since it was by far the most successful communication exchange we've documented since her stroke. Not so great for my ego! Ha.
How are you feeling?: eh, so so? The pregnancy has been pretty easy on me so far. Just super stressed with school. My semester ends three weeks after my due date and I'm trying to get as much done as I can.
Rants/Raves: ugh, Dr said that we have to start watching my bp and iron. They aren't "bad" yet, but worth watching. He said, "the bp is pretty typical for being 38 though". Love hearing that stuff, haha.
Questions: anyone ever have an ECV? The baby is currently transverse, and still has time to move. But Dr. said that if the position doesn't change in the next three weeks or so, I'd be an 'ideal candidate ' for ECV.
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? I've heard next to nothing about my pregnancy from others, and I kind of like it.
@Lexibizzel wow they're talking about an ECV already?! My first was heads down pretty early but second was a bit later. I did various spinning baby techniques and such but this is so early for that I feel. I have heard they hurt but I'd definitely try one to avoid a c-section since I've had 2 vaginal deliveries and would like to keep that going.
My health insurance company called today to see if I wanted to participate in a pregnancy education program where they would educate me on things like how to eat healthy and stay hydrated. Umm, I'm 32 weeks pregnant, I feel like this call came a little late. Not interested in this info, BUT I did get to ask her a million questions about my coverage, like how to order my breast pump, whether my doula will be covered, etc. She told me that a hospital stay of 48 hours after the birth of the baby would be covered for a vaginal birth (96 hours from birth for a c section) and that I leave anywhere before 48 hours, even 47 hours, I am entitled to a visit from an in-home nurse if I want one. I thought that was interesting.
She also told me that if I have a boy and want him circumsized, that she believes that would be a hospital procedure and would have a $4,000 copay - I'm sorry what?!!?!?! Any STM+ have any insight into what circumcision was billed like? Was it surgery? Hospital stay? Procedure?

How are you feeling?: heartburn was rough today but if I stay on top of nexium and tums, it is manageable. Other than that, I can’t complain.
Rants/Raves: not really a rant or rave but just weird... we registered baby for Mother’s Day out this fall. We have never had such a tiny baby in daycare and have always had a nanny, but unfortunately with two others in private pre-k, a nanny is out of the budget. I’m trying to be positive and think about all the things it will help with... consistent schedule, naps, etc, but it is hard to imagine. I know we have been very lucky in the past and am hoping this is the right choice for the fall.
Questions: none
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? I have really been pretty fortunate in all my pregnancies to have avoided awful or uncomfortable comments. My parents are actually the worst offenders I’ve had because they will comment on my size. They just don’t think it is a big deal to comment on my body, despite me being well within my weight gain range. It has definitely taught me things not to say to my daughters or daughter in laws when I’m older.
@kvh22 I was surprised as well, still almost 10 weeks until my due date. But he said that they rarely change position on their own after 34 weeks. Dr. knows that I am wanting to refuse inductions and let the baby come out when she/he is ready. But yes, like you I have two vaginal births behind me and would like to avoid a c-section. So while I will certainly be weighing out the pros and cons, I am not inherently against an ECV.

Rants/Raves: DS2s bday was Monday and we celebrated him all weekend.. mostly at home but had so much fun!
Questions: We may be totally nuts but we are considering a last minute trip to Florida in a couple weeks... are we crazy or should we do it??! We found super cheap flights for the whole family!
GTKY: What is the most ridiculous thing/advice/comment someone has said to you about your pregnancy? Oh gosh... I lucked out with being home most of the time and covered up by a winter jacket so I think it's kept the comments away. Most of my comments I get revolve around having 4 boys and them being close in age.
@theblondebump, I had both my sons circumcised, and while I had to pay a portion, the deductible had been met by MY hospital stay. Mom and baby almost always count as one person, especially for insurance purposes. Most of us can't even insure our babies before the bill goes through. I think last time I paid 150 for it.
Please make sure you educate yourself before getting a circumcision done. It was not an easy decision for me, but we felt the health benefits out weighed the risks. I felt horrible both times.
@Lexibizzel, DS2 was a flipper right up until I dropped between 35w and 36w and he couldn't anymore. Every appt, he was in a different position. 35w he was breech, and the only thing I was told was let's see where he is next week. 36w, he was cephalic, and stayed that way. I got to where I could tell by his movements when he was butt up.
I have a question after looking around our hospital’s labor and delivery website last night. Has anyone ever used nitrous oxide during labor? Isn’t that the same thing the dentist gives you? They mentioned offering that.
I’m asking because with DD1 I had an epidural which was amazing but I also felt like it slowed me down after she was born, especially after a rushed delivery with no epidural for DD2. They did give me some sort of IV pain medicine for DD2 which helped but also made me feel crazy - I imagine that’s what it feels like to be high, haha! Anyways I loved being able to get up and move around so soon after she was born. The nitrous oxide is intriguing to me.
@aisukurimsarang interesting, it would be GREAT if they counted me and baby as one for hospital bills because I already just assumed we’ll be paying the out of pocket max, but that was NOT the impression I got from my insurance company yesterday.
We will definitely be circumcising if we have a boy, no question about that.

But seriously, my 2 girls are the cutest together and it is so worth it

@theblondebump @kvh22 I'm so excited for the playmat too!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: I'm going to go with an octopus because i'm sure it has 8 limbs. lol
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 29&2

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: He was 3lb 1oz last week - no idea this week!
Ha.

Upcoming appointments: Feb 23
She also told me that if I have a boy and want him circumsized, that she believes that would be a hospital procedure and would have a $4,000 copay - I'm sorry what?!!?!?! Any STM+ have any insight into what circumcision was billed like? Was it surgery? Hospital stay? Procedure?

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: broccoli
Upcoming appointments: this Friday for 30 week appt.

Upcoming appointments: next week
How are you feeling?: so large and sore!
Please make sure you educate yourself before getting a circumcision done. It was not an easy decision for me, but we felt the health benefits out weighed the risks. I felt horrible both times.
