Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a loaf of bread

Upcoming appointments: not until 30 weeks, 2/23

How are you feeling?: Tired, and my lower spine (that I’d previously injured, and it acts up from time to time) is killing me.

Rants/Raves: I don’t know if this is a rant or a rave, but like zero foods sound good.  What the heck?  Rave: my body hair has pretty much stopped growing so I hardly ever have to shave my legs  💯

    Questions: None

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets?  Oh gosh, I like pretty much everything about my SO, so I’d say I hope the baby is just like him in every way!  I have some freckles that none of my kids got so far, so maybe those. 🤷‍♀️

@juliebird6 I’m glad you’re starting to feel a little bit more like yourself on the meds!

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: April 22nd, I think I'm 26 weeks? When asked last week I said 24 or 25, but that was wrong. So who knows. Ha!

    FTM/STM/STM+: third

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: blue!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: kale?

Upcoming appointments: I had one last week, so not again until February!

How are you feeling?: Not too terrible, just tired and sore. I wake up tired and that's a special feeling.  :p Dealing with some sciatic and other nerve pain, but it's not unbearable - just slows me down!

Rants/Raves: I was looking at baby boy clothes this morning and kept finding clothes that said things like "ladies man" and "stealing hearts and blasting farts" and if that's how baby boy clothes are I'm not excited to be shopping for them!   :D

    Questions: none at the moment!

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? I hope that he is chill and not stubborn. DH and I are both very laid back people. DD1 shocked us all by coming out very independent and strong-willed and stubborn...she is so unlike us! Or at least unlike us now - my mom has said (and seems to find joy in reminding me often) that I did have some of those tendencies as a young child so I guess she gets it honestly. DD2 is chill and can entertain herself and is happy to just piddle around, which is more like our personalities. I do hope that little man inherits some of DH's athletic abilities. I'm super clumsy and totally unathletic and DD1 definitely takes after me there. DD2 is pretty coordinated when it comes to throwing balls and stuff, and I hope that our son is athletic for DH's sake!

  • @juliebird6 Good for you to realize maybe a bit of help with the rage monster isn’t a bad thing! Moms always try to push through the tough times for our littles and put our family’s needs first but self care is so important! I feel that if I’m not ‘good’ on my end, I can’t very well be good for anyone else. That’s helped me get past the guilt at times when I need just “me time” or some help. And that’s so fun your daughter has hit a girly phase. Mine is 10 and still hasn’t touched the make up or nail polish she got for her birthday back in August! Lol.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 27+4

    FTM/STM/STM+: 3TM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: Blue

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Size of a head of broccoli or cauliflower and he’s apparently developing eye lashes now.

Upcoming appointments: Monday for Rhogam shot and Wednesday for 28 week appt

How are you feeling?: Overall, pretty darn good pregnancy wise. My hips and pelvis are sore most of the time but I’ve been trying to be more aware of sitting too long or vice versa with trying to get too much done.

Rants/Raves: One thing after another this past week! Our car “threw a rod” on Thursday and needs an engine replacement. :s It has an extended warranty we still fall under and is at the dealership but the process is so drug out. Until they verify with the warranty that repairs will be covered, they don’t give a rental so going on day 5 of being without a car as it’s our only vehicle. We can manage this week but next week’s appts are all out of town and it’s important I get my Rhogam shot! Our New Year goals are going up in smoke. We were looking into trading it in for a bigger family car and getting a commuter car for my husband when he returns to work. Now I’m just hoping to get our car back repaired! Top it off, my sweet dog has been sick since Friday evening. The weather where I live has been crazy and the power company shuts the power off when it’s too windy which in turn makes the businesses and offices close down in my small town. No vet to get him to in town and no car to take him out of town so I’ve been up night and day with him. I’m at my wits end and trying so hard to keep my emotions in check so the baby isn’t feeling them. :(

Questions: Anybody else feel like the universe is against them lately.. I sure do!

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? My husband is so mellow and truly doesn’t let things get the best of him whereas I’m the one that stresses out and can’t stop looking at every single possible outcome and path to get there. I hope this little guy takes after his daddy and lets the pieces fall where they will. I do hope he’s a bookworm/school driven like me though! My other 2 don’t love school, they just do what they need to get it over with so it can be a pain at times!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:  kale

Upcoming appointments:  2/04 for 28 week appt and growth scan (to hopefully continue to rule out IUGR!)

How are you feeling?: @bblair24 on the waking up tired feeling :/  . I wake up several times a night catching myself either on my back or stomach so need to adjust. That, or to pee.  I guess the 2nd trimester honeymoon phase has begun to wear off...in it for the long stretch now!

Rants/Raves:  An actual rant/rave - baby hiccups!!  Just started feeling them last week. I love feeling the baby move as peace of mind, but I can't lie that the hiccups just annoy me...especially in the middle of the night.

    Questions:  none today!

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets?  I hope this baby is chill and laid back, more like DH.  DD is great but 'chill' is not a word I'd use to describe her; she's our first born so likely used to the constant attention and she has a 1:1 nanny while we work, and therefore is very needy and whiny all the time (I guess that's like me?! Or so DH claims - HA!).  I do hope that all my children are responsible and cautious like me. DD already seems to be - I hope the same for DS!

  • @juliebird6 I'm glad the meds are helping! I echo what a lot of these ladies here have said, we feel so much better when we take care of ourselves. I've been taking my antidepressant all through pregnancy, and I'm really glad I have been. Parts of it have been challenging, and I think me being my best self has helped me get through it with relative calm.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: kale I guess

Upcoming appointments: OB tomorrow, ultrasound in 2ish weeks

How are you feeling?: Ok, I guess. I can tell my energy level is starting to go down, and the heartburn has been awful. I started having leg cramps at night, and no position is comfortable for very long.

Rants/Raves: I started WFH this week, which is nice since I can do some cleaning/nesting in between tasks.

Questions: Is anyone planning to do any specific childbirth classes? The ones my hospital offer are pretty no-frills medical classes, which are great information, but I was looking for more tips and techniques to try to make labor as least stressful as possible.

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? Hmm, I hope she is her own person, but I do hope she has DH's temperament (I'm the kite, he's the rock in our relationship). I don't anticipate her having too many of my physical features since DH has all the dominant genes and I have all the recessive ones lol.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an acorn squash?

Upcoming appointments: Down to appts every 2 weeks (HOW?!), so 1/28 after just having an appt 1/14

How are you feeling?: Up until last night I've been doing great. I posted more detail in the Randoms thread, but I have timed contractions every 3-5min last night for a little over an hour. Trying not to stress, but this never happened with DS and its too early..

Rants/Raves: I coach high school cheerleading and a couple of my senior girls approached me about throwing me a small "sprinkle" and if I was okay with that. I thought it was so so sweet of them!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? I hope baby is as friendly as my SO.. he could make friends with a tree.

  • @juliebird6 good for you for realizing what you need! I really think self care 100% translates into family care. I’m already trying to prepare myself for meds postpartum. It’s easy from the outside looking in to say “just do it” or after the fact/beforehand, but I know it’s hard in the moment to remember to take care of yourself, so I’m glad you did!

@bluey101321 yes on the universe being against them last week. FX this week is better, for both of us!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 4/15, 27+?

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: I can’t keep track, plus I never think it makes much sense.

    Upcoming appointments: 1/27

How are you feeling?: I could complain a lot here but I’m just going to say- it could be worse.

Rants/Raves: Last week sucked. I got less then 5 hours of sleep on 4 different nights, and usually I need my full 8+ to function. Plumbing issues, a kidney stone, scary lack of movement for one night, and DS deciding to wake up at 11 one night and staying up until 4:15. Luckily the city already called back this morning so fx they’ll take care of the issue with the main sewer being blocked by roots that keeps causing our plumbing to back up. I’m tired of mopping, I want to get caught up on laundry, and I want a nice long shower without worrying it’s all draining into my downstairs bathroom.

Questions: I haven’t looked or even asked this time around because with DS I was told it was no big deal, but I keep hearing mention of sleeping on you back being bad. I thought (4 years ago) it was old advice to sleep on your side, but hearing it has me wondering if there was a change since then. I have a lot of back pain normally so I have to sleep on my back or have pain the next day. With pregnancy, it gets even worse and in addition to the normal pain if I lay on my side for more than a few minutes I feel like my rib is cracking. It happened with DS and went away right after labor, but it gets worse as I get bigger.

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? I hope her personality is like DH and MIL. They’re so laid back and calm. DS was a chill baby but has become much more like me as he’s gotten older. Our family really needs the chill to keep us in balance. I hope she gets the love of books/learning from me.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a rectangular kleenex box?

Upcoming appointments: Next Wednesday 1/27 for glucose test (bleck)

How are you feeling?: Generally ok - I feel like I have a lot more aches and pains recently. DH and I were able to get away for a mini baby moon (staying in a condo and ordering takeout, going for walks, being somewhere OTHER than our house lol) and the bed was NOT super comfy and I had a lot of leg pain. But even in our comfy bed, I feel aches in my hips and butt pretty much every night and sometimes in my rib area if I stay in the same position for too long. That plus the PGP whenever I walk long distances (we went for an unexpected 6.5 mile walk Sunday - mama was in PAIN) just make me feel really old and decrepit lol. Also feeling constantly tired even when I do sleep, but I guess that's my life from now on lol.

Rants/Raves: Rave - we were able to get a change of scenery this weekend and it really helped my mood!

Rant - Being back at work after the long weekend lol.

Questions: Are people doing virtual showers? We're sending out pregnancy announcements to close family and friends basically saying "sorry we can't celebrate in person, hopefully we can soon, also we're registered at babylist!" but it feels kind of weird and pandery...I don't love it but honestly need people to buy us things since this is our first and we have zero supplies. Is this totally tacky? My friend did it already so I don't feel too bad about it, but yeah...

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets?: I hope that once baby is old enough, he/she is clean like me - DH leaves crumbs and mess EVERYWHERE and it drives me NUTS! On the other hand, I hope baby sleeps like DH, because he sleeps like the dead and if baby is anything like me, we're in trouble lol. I also hope baby gets DH's nose (I've got a large Italian nose lol) and my ears (DH had very pronounced ears as a child which I feel like will not be fun for delivery lol).

In all seriousness, I hope baby is laid back and funny like DH and empathetic like me.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Kale?

Upcoming appointments: 1/26 Rhogram Shot and Glucose Test

How are you feeling?: Symptoms are all around pretty nice still other than terrifyingly brutal bloody noses and waking up several times a night and having trouble falling back asleep.

Rants/Raves: DH is abroad this week and it is just me and DD1.  Didn't realize how emotionally co-dependent we are until he left.  Have been feeling pretty sad and lonely. I also realized how easy it is to keep the house clean without him living there: no sweeping dirt off the floor since he forgets to take off boots, no collecting empty cans/bottles around the house, no grease stains on my stovetop since he loves to fry things, etc...

Questions: To those with messy SOs: How do you keep yourself sane and try and maintain order in your household?

GTKY:  I hope DD2 gets DH's hair; straight and dark.  I love DD1's dirty blonde curly hair but it is so hard to brush.  It would be cool if she inherited some green/blue/hazel eyes from FIL or my mom. Praying she doesn't get my MIL and BIL's freaky goblin ears, or FIL's wide piggy nose (sorry if that sounds terrible).  I think she is going to be very stubborn like DH, since she will be a Taurus and DH has Taurus moon/rising and is very stubborn. I honestly am just praying that she is healthy and happy. Substance abuse and mental illness run in both of our families so we are hoping that neither of our girls have to struggle with those issues.

  • @aguamala My husband is messy.  I do a lot more of the housework in general because it would never occur to him to do certain things, like clean the stove.  He has specific tasks that he does, like the dishes if I cook and garbage/recycling.  Anything beyond that I basically have to specifically request if I want him to do it.  We also currently have a guest room where his closet is, and it is constantly a disaster in there.  I just keep the door closed and don't go in unless I have to.  However that room is getting turned into a nursery for this baby so he's going to have to figure out how to not have piles of dirty and clean clothes everywhere.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @kadeephd that makes me feel better! We have a guest room that he puts all his crap in too. We are moving before baby comes so the room will stay a disaster until we move out. I feel so silly having to ask a grown man to do his share around the house. He does try to get better though! I tell myself that it's not intentional, he is just the least detail oriented person.
  • @aquamala, my SO is a former Marine, and kept the crazy clean freak aspect of things. I AM NOT. I'm not a slob, but I'm the clean once a week type. So, what we've done to ease things for him is add rugs on either side of the door. Carpet runners down halls. Area rugs in high traffic sections. I vacuum them once a day and he sweeps once a day. This keeps the dirt form piling up. On the tile sections.

For the kitchen, I do a major clean after lunch, so it's a quick wipe down at dinner. The bathroom we pick up as we go. Ironically, he doesn't care about the bedroom, which makes ME crazy, so the bedroom I do when I get up after he leaves for work. (I work 8 to 5, but from home.)
  • @bblair24 I hate boys clothes with all those phrases on them. I get most of my boy stuff from Hanna andersson, Tea collection, some j crew kids, and gap. They all have awesome sales and the styles are cute without all the random sayings.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lettuce! I looked today.

Upcoming appointments: next Friday for gd test and 28 week appt.

How are you feeling?: I feel really pretty good. My chiropractor helps a ton and my headaches are nearly gone, praise the Lord! I’m working out 6 days a week but still struggling with lack of energy mid day. Once I get passed 3pm, I’m good until 9. And then I crash hard. It is going to be a super hard adjustment getting no sleep again. All 3 of mine are finally sleeping great through the night, so i am getting close to 9.5 hours a night.

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: I’m thinking about talking to my doctor about induction around 39 weeks if baby doesn’t come before. I know this can be controversial but I’m super nervous about having to get a c-section. My other son was born at 39 weeks (water broke on its own) and he was 9 lbs 3 ounces. My last OB was amazed I was able to get him out given my hip width and pelvic bone structure. I had to be induced at 40 weeks with my third because she wasn’t coming and they were worried about size. She ended up being only 8lbs 4 ounces. Think it warrants a discussion? Or just wait it out and pray he doesn’t get stuck? Since this is a new Ob for me, I’m not sure what her protocol will be.

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? I never really considered myself to have a ton of patience, but I do. My kids are trying and for the most part, I keep my shit together and rarely tell (Hate yelling). I hope this baby gets my patience. DH is also just a really amazing person. Super ethical, always first to help, etc, I hope he gets those characteristics too.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lettuce (looks like romaine to me)

    Upcoming appointments: Feb 3

How are you feeling?: starting to get shortness of breath, foot cramps, constipation

Rants/Raves: starting to get over the crazy anxiety associated with going back to school after 9 years

Questions: any foot/leg cramps advice? So far staying hydrated has seemed to have helped.

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? My nose, dad's wavy hair. I hope baby loves to be outdoors and to read like me and is comfortable with people like their dad.

  • @pelorunningmama I would think that if you managed to birth a 9.3 lb baby, you’ll be fine no matter what happens. Have they said you are measuring ahead? I wouldn’t be concerned unless you are regularly measuring significantly ahead. I also think though that scheduling an induction if the baby (however large) isn’t really ready would only increase your odds of ending up with a CS.
  • @aguamala I try to think of all the things he always does that I never do, like cleaning out the garage and taking the trash out every week, doing the dinner planning and grocery shopping, etc and it helps curb my anger towards being the only one who cleans crumbs off the countertops and grease and spills off the stove top, runs the vacuum and cleans and folds the towels.  Not kidding, every morning I wake up and the lazy Susan is open from when he made himself cereal. Like, just shut it when you put the cereal away, dude!  Not gonna lie, though, I blow up every couple of months or so when I’ve just had it.  And it’s worse when I’m pregnant cause I’m extra grouchy and angry.  I feel like I clean up after everyone, but no one is cleaning up after me. Like, ever.

    Summary: you’re not alone.
  • @pelorunningmama I’m in a similar boat. My ob has already had a talk with me about my birth plan and not being heartbroken over the possibility of a CS, which I’m not ‘heartbroken’ but have come to realize I’m super nervous about it! The recovery mainly. I’m measuring 9 days ahead as of the last few appts, both kiddos before were vaginal births but 7lbs 4oz and 7lbs even. Unfortunately, a CS hadn’t even crossed my mind with this one so I was caught off guard. I was just shooting to avoid induction (as my first was an induction and a hard labor) but now I’m back and forth about asking about it too. Been trying to wait it out until further along to see how baby is measuring before I do simply ask but we’ll see if I can manage to hold it in at next weeks appt :D I have heard induction increases chances of CS though too.. didn’t with my first but still a chance if labor stalls.
  • @juliebird6 I hope you get back to feeling like yourself soon. Meds made a huge difference for me once I finally talked to my drs.

@BuckeyeNut05 same with the body hair! I haven't shaved my legs in about two weeks and not even DH could tell!

@bblair24 I am absolutely the same about boy clothes. Once you know where to look you can find tons of cute things that don't say foolish things. DS loves animals, trucks, and dinosaurs and theres tons of that kind of stuff around. Gender neutral grays/greens/yellows never have those annoying sayings either!

@forevertired re: sleep positions.. I sleep/lay literally however I can get comfortable. I have a C-shaped pregnancy pillow that I can stuff under my head, knees, back, curl into a donut to lay on my stomach.. all the things.

@aguamala My H is ungodly messy.. all the same things you stated, plus leaving laundry on the floor RIGHT NEXT TO the basket, empty cans on the counter above the recycle bin.. It used to drive me insane until I just started taking pictures of it all and adding funny captions. Then he was suddenly deployed NYE last year (2019-2020) when things got insane in the middle east and all of a sudden his mess was gone as were my little (albeit annoying) daily reminders of him. I guess thats a verbose way of saying, find humor or joy in his little quirks to help you from going nuts.

@pelorunningmama I had the induction talk with my OB at our second appt. DS always measured about 2wk ahead and was estimated at 9lbs 6oz at 38+4, so I was induced at 39wk. He came out 8lbs 14oz and he literally tore his way through my body. Needless to say, I don't want that to happen again, so I brought it up to my new OB. Her stance was very much that at that stage in pregnancy baby is done cooking and any potential risks are very very low, so it's my choice and I will be supported in that choice. We've been keeping close tabs on this one's size and will make a call at a much later date.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @aguamala my DH is very messy also - we have what I "affectionately" call closet bed, which just means that he uses one of our spare room beds to pile all of his clothes (dirty? clean? unclear.) Every so often I have to ask him to clean it up...

Honestly, I've recently found that hyper organization helps. He used to leave his shoes in the kitchen closet so he could easily take the dog out (it's feet away from the shoe closet, where I keep my shoes and am similarly able to easily take the dog out...) and it drove me BANANAS. I recently cleaned out the entire closet and organized it with labeled bins. Since then he's been taking his shoes off and putting them in the shoe closet. It's one tiny step forward but we're getting there!

  • @pelorunningmama, After delivering at 40w0d, and then 40w5d, I requested an induction at 39w with DS2. I was PGAL, 42, and terrified of stillbirth (age related risk). I do not regret my decision in the slightest. Except maybe the part where his birthday is Inauguration Day.  :D
  • @bluey101321 Hopefully they will continue to monitor size and will be able to help make the best decision possible. I'm scared of a c-section for the same reasons (recovery), plus I have 3 other young kids and will be working from home during that time. I'm hoping he will somehow be smaller and I won't have to worry about it. I will say I had a beautiful induction with my 3rd at 40 weeks. My doctor insisted and I think I was dilated to like a 3 or 4 before going in. They gave me a bit of pitocin (i think?) and it was like my body all of a sudden got that it was time. She arrived with no issues a few hours later. Just sharing to give you hope that not all inductions end poorly.

@aisukurimsarang that's good to hear. I've never requested one before and feel odd doing it, but I'm also terrified that if this boy goes to 40 weeks, he will be 10 pounds.

@Juliebird6 I carry fairly small, so my actual stomach measurement isn't all the helpful. We are doing a growth check at 32 weeks because of my age and then I'm hoping they will continue to monitor as we get closer. Unfortunately, all of those measurements are just so unreliable. With my son, they relied on my stomach size and didn't do an additional ultrasound. They assumed he would be a small to average size baby. Everyone was shocked when he came out 9.3 and 22 inches at 39 weeks. For the sake of tearing, I really do not want a 10 lb baby to come out of me vaginally. The last two did a number on that region.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Who knows? well prob everyone but me. Something that's big judging by my stomach size

Upcoming appointments: virtual one on the 3rd of Feb

How are you feeling?: I feel good! Heartburn and blabla but nothing out of the ordinary- pretty lucky! I think working from home is a huge help

Rants/Raves: Wish my son would sleep past 6 and I am VERY unmotivated at work lately so almost looking forward to the break even though I know how tiring a newborn will be! Sad to end my chapter soon with just us and my son but he is kissing my stomach lately and saying hi to the baby which I love so much.

Questions: Nothing right now, sort of feel like this last stretch before baby will go by so quickly!

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? I hope she is sweet, caring, and witty (my best qualities IMO, and trust, I have plenty I hope she DOESN'T get from me!) and logical, patient, and calm like my SO- he's pretty wonderful! Also hope she gets my eyebrows and his blue eyes if we are being superficial!

  • @mamabee1113 haha that's hilarious!

DH isn't too messy, but he does a few things that sometimes irritate me. Like, NEVER wipes a counter top, ever. He had a "dressing room" (it's a tiny little room with two closets) that we turned into a playroom. He used to have his clothes all over; the floor, the toybox/bench that I newly reupholstered, just piles everywhere. I eventually got him to go through his closets and get rid of stuff he doesn't wear, and since I put up wall decals and stuff to make it look like a kids playroom he now folds and hangs up his clothes. Hallelujah.
  • @mamabee1113 that's hilarious!

DH isn't super messy, but his idea of "cleaning" is very different than mine. Like @bbrahmbhatt said, he'll wash the dishes and say the kitchen is clean, but he also doesn't clean the counters. He also has recently wanted to try baking some of his favorite desserts (kind of his pandemic project I guess) and I usually have to remind him to clean up all the ingredients when he's done - stuff like that. He'll do the dishes if I leave them in the sink long enough  :D but it's like he just swiped the dishcloth over a portion of the pot. I can't tell you how many times I've grabbed a pot or pan handle to take it out of the cabinet and it's greasy after he did the dishes.
  • @bblair24 oh nooo. Those sayings are horrible lol. You can definitely find adorable baby boy clothes! In addition to the other suggestions, try h&m!

@pelorunningmama I'd definitely consider discussing 39 week induction given all that history. Plus arent there some studies that even recommend 39 weeks for those that are AMA? Id say to at least ask your provider...

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 4/25+2 (induction at 37 weeks)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:

Upcoming appointments: mfm appt next week

How are you feeling?: No complaints from me other than just tired and sore at the end of the day!

Rants/Raves: I've been getting more sleep at night which is great!!! But with that my super weird and often stressful pregnancy dreams have amped up 🤦‍♀️

Questions: anyone else still did pretty much nothing to prepare for baby?? 😬 I'm in denial how quick this is coming!!!

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? Id love for this baby to be more laid back/go with the flow like me vs constantly needing a routine like my hubby. Not going to hold my breath though lol! I also hope he is patient like me and logical like my hubby.

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team Blue!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Eggplant

Upcoming appointments: This week for 28 week check

How are you feeling?: Lost, and overwhelmingly angry and alone.

Rants/Raves: Being a single pregnant mother during a pandemic really highlights how little support there is for non-traditional birth experiences.

Questions: I guess just wondering if I could connect with other single moms here?

GTKY: What characteristics of yourself and your SO do you hope your baby gets? Hopefully just his good looks and not his toxic personality. 🤣

  • @mamabee1113, OMFG that is so accurate. I'm constantly like, WTH, Marine!!! Put your clothes in the hamper! My fave is when they set the new roll on TOP of the empty one.
  • @mamabee1113 I'm crying at those pictures - are you in my house?? Too relatable.
  • I just love how much we ALL relate to the struggles of these men  :D Why must they be like this?? lol

We have a little shelf thing that sits on the floor under our toilet paper holder. So often the new roll gets set there, literally right under the holder. Like often times touching the old empty roll that's still on the holder. So close, yet so so far.
  • @runsoncoffee I panic shopped for baby today once I sorted our hand me down clothes that I hadn’t gotten rid of. I had a whopping two onesies in 0-3 and 8 sleepers. I want to have enough to not have to do laundry for a week in case things get really crazy. Ended up going to my favorite resale boutique and target and I think I am in better shape now. We have done nothing else though. So much to get done!

  • @runsoncoffee I've done so very, very little. This weekend someone asked me "so what do you have left to do for baby?" and it was like total blank look back haha...Uhmmmm haven't done much of anything yet LOL

@runsoncoffee and @goldpolkadot, I've also done next to nothing for the actual baby. Some random things here and there that will make it possible to get baby stuff ready, but for the baby himself, practically nothing. He has one outfit and one sleeper.  :D My cousin is going to hand down her baby boy clothes to me - I should go ahead and get those so I feel like I'm a little more prepared. The last time I talked to her she asked if his nursery was ready. Hahaha...no. Not even a little bit. It's still full of toys and all of our homeschool stuff.
