Had ultrasound today at 6+6 but was measuring 7+3! Which makes sense because I had some spotting a few days before I said my last period was, so maybe I should have counted the spotting as day 1. Anyway, here's our first look at the babe! Heart rate 137 bpm. Upside down; arrow pointing at the head. I'm so relieved!
Had my first ultrasound today 6+4. Bottom blob is baby top blob us the yolk sac. Follow up with my doctor on Thursday to discuss my blood work and ultrasound.
@muggsd Thanks! I got early ultrasound because of a recent ruptured ectopic just a few months ago. Otherwise my doctor's office usually doesn't do them until 8-10 weeks!
I had my second ultrasound today (first one was super early to rule out ectopic pregnancy) at 6w6d and everything looks great! Heartbeat was 122 bpm (this is my first and let me tell you, seeing a heart beating inside my uterus was a trip). Measuring at 7w1d, so all looks good! This was an IVF cycle so I’ve now graduated from the fertility clinic. I reached out to a highly rated midwife centre today and am waiting to hear back to see if they can take me. I’m really excited that after 3 years dealing with IF, I’m finally at the point where I get to deal with my pregnancy like everyone else.
I think my early ultrasound was a fluke. The doctor just set me up with requisitions for blood work and an ultrasound as soon as I found out, which I think was just to avoid another phone call in a few weeks for an ultrasound requisition.
@sawasap that's great! It must be a wonderful feeling to walk out of the RE's office with an u/s pic. Could you hear the heartbeat or just see it? I'll be 7w2d when I go next week and I don't want to be nervous if I can't hear it.
@emeraldduchess I didn’t hear it this time, just got to see it. Hoping maybe next time I get an US I’ll be able to hear it too, and maybe my husband will be allowed in with me then!
Just had my first US/appointment and couldn't be more relieved. Baby is actually measuring a couple days ahead of schedule (I am 8w1d, baby is measuring 8w3d) and has a very fast strong heartbeat. I am thrilled. Beyond thrilled, honestly. And overwhelmingly relieved.
My appointment today went really well...was able to see and hear the HB, which was a super surreal experience. Baby was measuring 6+2, but my RE didn’t seem concerned about that (I’m technically 6+5 today). I have one more u/s with her next Thursday, and then I’m being released to my OB! I scheduled a 10 week appointment and a 12 week appointment with them today. So basically all in all a very good day over here haha!
I had a phone appointment with my family doctor today. All of my blood work looks good and the ultrasound looks good. He was a little perturbed that the walk in doctor had me go for my first ultrasound so early and didn't order a urine test. He also said that there was some blood work missing, the other doctor didn't order it(thyroid). So now I have to make another appointment to go in have another vial of blood drawn and pee in a cup. However he did set me up with a referral to my old OB so that makes me happy.
I had an US yesterday at 7+2 and heard/saw the heartbeat (although they didn’t measure the bpm). Everything looks good so far. I have another appt booked next week with a local OB as I’m considering a switch but not sure if I’ll keep it or not yet.
Posted my u/s pic in the u/s thread but updating on my appointment from this morning here. Baby's heart rate was only 117 which she said is low. My RE requested the 6 wk u/s so they are going to fax everything to him and see what he says but she would recommend doing another u/s in two weeks to make sure the HR is in the right range of 120-180. They also found a small SCH and said it isn't super concerning because it was less than 1 cm and they are usually only concerned if it is 4-5 cm but still that the u/s in two weeks would help to see if it has been absorbed and make sure it hasn't gotten bigger. Also said if I have any spotting it would likely be from that but to still call right away to get in.
Don't get me wrong I like to have the peace of mind of more scans and appointments but I am really hoping for a smooth low risk pregnancy.

@krash_ fingers crossed that everything will be just perfect in 2 weeks!! They didn't even tell me the HR today...I asked and they said it would go to the report for my doctor..
I also had my dating ultrasound today! Everything went well, I mentioned in the US thread but she really mad eme nervous at first saying she saw the gestational sac and then went silent. I was preparing for her to tell me it was empty, but finally she said she sees baby and heartbeat!! I was measuring 2 days behind which is new for me my first two always measured big! I'm so relieved everything is good in there and I can relax a bit. Excited to see peanut again in 4 weeks at the NIPT screening
My appointment went really well yesterday! Baby was right on track at 8W5D and HB was 142. I already gained 6 lbs 🥴 I’ve been slacking hard on working out lately because I’ve been so tired. Guess I better get back on that!
@krash_ I’m sorry your appointment left you with some concerns. Hopefully they caught the heart right after it started beating. It takes some time for it to work it’s way up to a higher rate. If your SCH is super small, I doubt you have any spotting. I had 2 small ones last time and never saw any spotting. I would take it easy because they can grow super fast. Last time I had an US every week to 2 weeks to check on them and some weeks one would be gone and the next week it would be back and as big as it was before. It just kept coming and going until they both finally healed around 14 weeks.
@krash_ sending all the positive thoughts that your appointment in two weeks gives you some reassurance!
I had my dating u/s and follow up appointment today and all looks well! The RE says baby is measuring right on track. She also reassured me that having mild pregnancy symptoms isn't something to panic over. Baby's heartbeat is 151, which is right in the expected range. I've been teasing DH that the higher hb means it's a girl. It was tough not having him in the room with me for the scan, but the tech let me take a video of the screen so I could show him the heatbeat. We are going to tell our parents this weekend and I am glad to have the video to show them, too (especially since the baby just looks like a blob right now!).
I am 8w3d based on LMP, but based on when I got the positive pregnancy test I knew that was not right, I thought I was 6w4d, but when I got the ultrasound they only saw a sac with a yolk sac inside, no baby and no heartbeat.
They seemed pretty confident that I was just earlier then they thought, like possibly 5w3d, which would work for when I got a positive pregnancy test. I will be back in 2 weeks to check for growth. Choosing to be hopeful!
I had a visit two days ago and saw baby measuring 8+3 with a good heart rate at 176. The doctor and I were both shocked. There had been nothing- we truly saw nothing but the sac- on the ultrasound last week. I’ve heard of that happening at 6 week ultrasounds but never 7+!
Since my cycles have been irregular during the pandemic we’re dating based on the ultrasound. Today would be 8+5. I’m so happy on one hand and waiting for the other shoe to drop on the other...choosing to focus more on the happiness!
I had my first appointment yesterday, which was really just a Pap smear and some dialogue with the doctor because I had my ultrasound two days prior at urgent care. It went well, but it threw me off that they didn’t do anything at all to check on baby. I would have dopplers and/or ultrasounds weekly if I could. I’m anxious like that. My doctor referred me to a different branch of the group for the rest of my pregnancy because they don’t deliver at the hospital that I need to deliver at. So my next appointment will be March 2nd at a totally new office with a new group of doctors. Not a bad thing, just a little unnerving - but I’ll do what I have to do to make sure I deliver at a hospital with a high level NICU. Not trying to potentially have another emergency transfer, so I’m doing the work now to make sure I deliver where I should.
They adjusted my due date based on baby’s measurements last Wednesday so it’s moved to 9/20 which sets me back a few days at 6w5d.
