I had an ultrasound at 5+1 today and she found a gestational sac and yolk sac which confirmed that it’s not ectopic! So that’s a relief. Still no explanation for the spotting though.
We are having a friend over for dinner on Saturday and I haven’t seen him in forever so I’m excited BUT part of me wants to cancel because I have no idea how I will get through it without him figuring out I’m pregnant. I’ve been handling my morning sickness well by laying down/sitting down often since it gets worse right after eating and when up and about. I’m not going to be able to just lay down after dinner and I’m worried if I don’t I’ll throw up🙃 it’s a lose lose situation lol
So my and DH’s COVID tests came back negative! We continue to have no symptoms and will obviously continue to quarantine for another week, but as of now it is looking good for us. My brother is starting to feel better, but now my mom has it. We are pretty sure she got it from my brother on Sunday, which makes sense because he thinks he got it Wednesday or Thursday at the grocery store. Ugh. The stress is real.
also hope you guys stay healthy!! We got covid in late October/early November and DS and I were pretty fortunate to have mild symptoms (his was only a fever for like 6 hours and that’s it) but SO had it bad. Not hospitalized bad but he looked like he was hit by a truck😬
There seems to be a few of us from the Southern Ontario area (I'll include Toronto area in this too). I'm so excited! On my last BMB there wasn't anyone near me. I'm in Sarnia, but have family in Ottawa so we travel up that way occassionally, non pandemic times. It would be so cool to get together some day after we get to know each other more and it's safe.
My HPT was lighter today than it was yesterday. I’m trying not to read too much into it. Yesterday I woke up and peed at like 3:30 am so when I got up at almost 7 and POAS there wasn’t much pee. Today I didn’t wake up at all overnight so my bladder was full so I’m thinking my pee was just more concentrated yesterday. I have another beta on Tuesday so hopefully that comes back good but I will probably pee on things obsessively until then.

@krash_ how many dpo now? Have they gotten darker up till now? I took tests for several days in a row and the darkening wasn’t always clear/consistent. Hope it’s all ok.
My test this morning is about the same as yesterday so I think the darker one was the fluke. Again I’m just going to obsessively pee on things until Tuesday.

I recently got a new Mediterranean cookbook and it all looks so good. I picked out five recipes (for three meals) this week to try out, but several of the Ingredients aren't at my typical grocery, so I've been to 4 groceries over two days but I finally have it all! I'm excited! I think I'll have to make a trip to the dedicated Mediterranean grocer thats in the city sometime next week to stock up on some of the obscure pantry ingredients.
@krash_ I know its hard but I always try not to read too much in to line darkness. It's not always an indicator of how much HCG you actually have. I'm praying for you (and all of us!)
@poodledoodleooo I have started cooking from a new cookbook the last few months. My husband typically does all the cooking but I wanted to lose weight so I started cooking meals instead of ordering out when he isn’t home. He has been eating all my dishes and told me that if I keep experimenting with this cookbook he will be very well nourished. 😂 That is huge considering he told me when we first moved in together that he should do the cooking because he was less than thrilled with what I was making. He grew up in AK and I grew up in AL so we grew up eating vastly different things. He just couldn’t get on board with all the southern cooking my mom made when I was growing up. I wish we had a deep freezer so I could make a bunch of freezer meals and just toss them in the oven or crockpot when my nausea kicks into high gear. Although, smelling something cool all day in the crockpot would likely make my nausea worse.
@krash_ What kind of tests are you using. I am still testing every few days and my wondfo didn’t look much darker but my FRER was stealing dye and my Walmart cheapie was almost as dark as the control line.
@emeraldcity1214 I'm pretty stoked because it's very vegetable forward cookbook (not completely, but still) and I have a very hard time dealing with meat in my previous pregnancies.
@krash_ you may want to run up to your local Walmart and grab some .88 tests. Take those for a few days and see if that line has a good progression. Just make sure you don’t compare different brands of tests. I feel like my wondfos aren’t doing as good of a job as they did in previous pregnancies. So maybe the quality of the internet cheapies are going down. I had a bunch of indents in my last batch too which was super frustrating.
@poodledoodleooo If I have an issue with meat this time I will likely stock up on sweet potatoes and sprouted bread. 😆 I will try to eat as many healthy veggies as I can stomach and make sure I get some healthy starches too. My goal weight gain is 18lbs this time. I usually gain twice that. Now that I’m older it’s so much harder to lose the weight.
Idk exactly where to put this but I think it needs to be established somewhere. The beauty of these groups is the people with diverse backgrounds but I think there need to be a few ground rules.
“Fed is best” and “science is real.”
There may be more to add to that list but I think it should be added to the board organization or guidelines so new members see it.
I understand the discussion around the COVID-19 vaccine but in regards to other vaccines misinformation should not be tolerated. Breastfeeding is great, formula is great, feed your baby and do what makes you a happy and healthy mama. Motherhood is really hard let’s not make it harder. I’m not trying to start a debate but more a precedent.
