@emeraldcity1214 It is quiet. But I think it’s still early! So many of the moms won’t have even gotten a bfp yet, which is exciting! And I think others are probably waiting to get a little further along to commit. Everyone nervously tip toeing in...
The temperature regulation issues are so real over here too!! My sister is on some fertility meds right now as they try, and she’s been having intense hot flashes too. We keep finding ourselves walking around outside together just to cool down lol.
I’m not getting hot flashes but I will get super cold and not feel like I can warm up easily. I had to put on full snow gear yesterday when I was taking my puppy outside.

I would do that any day 😆 That's a big reason I'm in no hurry to get another dog!
@demimondaine I love my dog but he is a handful. It was like instantly adding 3 toddlers to the house and I have 3 small children and a newly turned 1 yo. I don’t typically need to gear up unless it gets below 10 and we have been right at 0 and dipping into the negatives the last few days. I can’t go out in that and then come inside and warm up easily.
Who has had nausea kick in yet? I’m 4w4d and it hasn’t hit yet. Assuming this is a viable pregnancy I expect it to be around the corner. Curious at what point you started to feel it. With #1 it was just before 6w, with #2 it was 4.5w.
@agea it hit me at 6.5w with DD and lasted for most of my pregnancy (I was actively vomiting during childbirth). Halfway through second tri they started treating me for HG which helped. This time around it hit me strong at 4.5w - not a good indication of my future lol
Thursday last week I had what I think was and endometriosis flare coupled with the beginnings of a UTI. Spent part of the day at the doctor. Ultrasound didn't really show anything, hcg rose as expected, but the pain freaked me out. They did not find an ectopic pregnancy so that was a relief. Abdominal pain is starting to get better finally. I have actually only taken one dose of tylenol today. I go for my initially scheduled ultrasound on Tuesday. I'm an IVF patient so I have extra monitoring.
@agea I was 4w6d at that u/s, now 5w2d. They didn't see anything at that point, but it's not too surprising given how early it was. My hch went from 1088 to 2961 in 3 days so everything with that seemed fine. I'm slowly getting back to normal. Usually when this happens I load up on ibuprofen and midol, but obviously those are off limits lol.
@agea I am definitely feeling nauseous already. I was nauseous right around 4 weeks when I tested positive, and occasionally vomiting. My doc already prescribed me Diclectin thank God, was super sick with my first 2 kids as well. Hoping it doesn't last past first tri this time!!
@agea I never got nauseous with my first pregnancy (and had a healthy full term baby boy!) There was literally ONE day early on (6w) when I felt like I was going to throw up but that was it. Hoping for the same luck this time around!
I was talking to my parents about DD1 (4yo) and DD2 (2yo) the other day
and my dad was like "it's going to get so much easier with the girls. In
a few years they'll be completely out of diapers and both in school."
Lol, not exactly! We're waiting until we see a heartbeat to tell our
families, but conversations like these test my ability to keep my big
mouth shut!!!
@cassafrass123 I kind of hate when people make assumptions like that because you never know what they are dealing with. On Halloween we brought DD over to my parents to trick or treat and my mom what a piece of paper taped to her that said “Baby in 2021!” She said she was a ‘sign’ for Halloween. We were actively trying at the time with no results so the whole experience was awful. DH sulked away sadly and I had to ask her to take it off.
I've had moments of nausea, but I'm so hoping it's not as bad as with DS. I'm 5 weeks, and I think it started in earnest around 7 weeks before. I was nauseas and throwing up multiple times a day up until almost the third trimester. It was roughhh.
I get hit with nausea here and there. With my first pregnancy it hit hard at 6 weeks and lasted until 19. I'm currently 5w3d so we will see what happens next week!
Has anyone been struggling with masks lately? I used to never have an issue and now I feel like I'm suffocating in them.
So I just found out my brother has COVID...and we were with him on NYE 😩. DH and I feel fine, but are getting tested anyway to be safe. Ughhh, send healthy thoughts my way! I’ve never been exposed before and I’m freaked out!!
I made my first prenatal appointment, it's not until 9 weeks, but this provider does an ultrasound at the first appointment! I'm so excited. With my first, I went to a birth center (ended up induced in a hospital, though, boo), and the only ultrasound I got was the anatomy scan, and even that was elective!
@Aerialmrs I’m surprised they didn’t do a dating scan. With my first I’m not sure how many US I got but that was 18 years ago. I’m kinda wishing I had asked for an early scan just to check on everything due to my history. DH doesn’t want me doing any of that though. He wants me to stay calm and stop stressing about everything. 🙄
@Aerialmrs same here. Because of covid they are consolidating everything into one appointment. 9 weeks I am scheduled for ultrasound, nurse visit and bloodwork. My only concern is that their 9 week count is actually maybe 7 weeks because I think I ovulated late.
@Aerialmrs I also was going to a birth center with my first but ended up at a hospital due to preterm labor (and it sucked that it was out of town so my midwife couldn't be there at all!).
I know I'm way ahead of myself, but I was going through Target and they had a large backpack style Skiphop diaper bag on clearance under $40. Totally spurged and spent a bit of my Christmas money.
@akwr Ugh that's a bummer! I was really let down by my birth experience the first time, and I think it was what triggered my PPD. This time I'm lowering my expectations for birth, and there's no birth center where we live now, anyway. I can still have a midwife and doula in the hospital, though (even if COVID is still rampant!), and they were just about the only positive part of my first birthing experience, to be honest! Well, besides my perfect baby of course!!

@agea yes and no. We put in 2 embryos so we knew there was a possibility and were open to the option of multiples
