I have My 12 week appointment today. Excited to hear the heartbeat and talk to my doctor about refilling my prescription for nausea medicine lol. nothing too exciting
@_orchid_ No, we found out with the NIPT (girl). She asked beforehand if I knew, otherwise she wouldn't have told me. I don't think you can always see it (and may not be 100% accurate), but a fun tidbit when there's nothing on the line.
@tilournextadventure Yeah, normally when they go over to the ovaries I don't see anything, but the right one was a big ol' cyst (which she also clarified is totally normal). For the left I told her she could be lying that it's still there, because I didn't see anything. She admitted that it's super hard until you're trained, she was mystified when she first started her training as well.
@akoros yes!! Left ovary huge, right ovary was a black spot on the screen. I'm like what?! Okay, okay I'll believe you that's my right ovary since I have no idea what I'm looking at. Ha!
Had my 16 week appointment on Monday. Heard the heart beat. He sounded good. I had more blood drawn for spina biffita and other genetic tests the Panorama doesn't screen for. Just glad everything is going well.

@akoros I’m having an early anatomy scan at 16 week at mfm. I’m guess I will also have a 20 week one as well (also with mfm). My ob said that if everything looks good and mfm has no concerns she would be willing to do a 28 week and 32 week in the office.
@MelissaMay82 I just had my follow-up with my OB, so I think that's what I'm going to do: early scan at 16w with OB, then another at 20w with the MFM. That way I'm keeping both in the loop. After 20w the MFM wants me to have a growth scan every 4-6 weeks until 32 weeks, but that's because of my age and particular history. Their offices seem fairly safe, and the hospital where the MFM is located doesn't have many COVID patients so I don't feel too wary about going in person.
@akoros last pregnancy I had scans every 4-6 weeks starting around 10 weeks (all at mfm) also due to my age and past history. I hate going to mfm but they have a way better ultrasound machine than my OB’s office does. Fingers crossed I only have to go to mfm twice this time.
The hospital called me today and need me to come in this afternoon for more ultrasound pictures...

I live in Eastern Canada and it takes weeks/months for them to schedule an ultrasound appointment. I just feel like this can't be good news?...I called my family doctor but she can't see the order or the results from my last ultrasound because it hasn't been signed off by the OBGYN. Really trying not to spiral.
@sugarcoateddonut I'm sorry you're worried (and it's totally understandable). That said, it can be really hard to get good pictures, and it's totally possible that something unclear showed up in the scan and they just want to verify (at my last scan the tech labelled things like crazy for the doctor because certain things weren't overly clear and she didn't want any confusion, but most I've had didn't do that). How far along are you?
@sugarcoateddonut fx it's just to get a clearer shot. I'm glad you're going in today and not like a week from now so you can ask today why they need the pictures. I would have a lot of anxiety as well, hoping everything is ok!!
@sugarcoateddonut At that scan they're looking for several very specific things, and want to be sure about the measurements, so it's very possible that some of the images aren't clear enough for them to be conclusive. I know it's easier said than done, but just try to relax. Hopefully (and likely) they're just double-checking something and everything is fine.
Good luck with your scan today @sugarcoateddonut I hope everything looks good and this was just a case of needing images.

Thank you all. You were all right! There was one measurement they weren't sure was accurate, and everything still looks good. I got to see the baby kicking around again, and it is such a relief!
I have my 15 week ultrasound coming up on Monday. I’m nervous for it. This is the one where they measure my cervix to make sure it’s long enough since I had the LEEP surgery back in Sept. If it’s too short then good old lucky me 😩 has to have a cervical cerclage which I most definitely DO NOT want. Please send me positive vibes and thoughts my way that all will be ok and baby will be fine. Come on cervix be a rockstar!! Lol
Update: Had my ultrasound later this afternoon and my super cervix wins again 😆 yessss!!! Soo happy. The tech said my cervix length is 4cm and that is really good and normal for how far along I am and its closed. Im so relieved to hear that today. No cerclage for this girl lol Take that OB!!! 😛
My NT ultrasound is this morning. I'm so anxious I feel sick and I barely slept last night. I have no reason to think anything is wrong but my PGAL brain is overwhelming today. I may need to seek out some resources to help with the anxiety - this is no way to spend the next 6 months.

Sitting in the waiting room before my NT and having a ton of anxiety. I really hate that I'm going into this appointment alone. Ugh I'm sure everything is fine but I've been crying on and off all morning and my pgal worry is through the roof.
