I had a followup ultrasound yesterday and it went super well. OB said baby showed great growth and a strong heartbeat I am 10 weeks today and my due date is 6/28.
These appointments are definitely more anti-climatic than my first pregnancy when I had a zillion questions. I had my blood drawn for the NIPT screening yesterday so hopefully that comes back clear. I go in for the NT scan and 12 week appointment in 2 weeks. My OB prefers to do the NT even if we're going NIPT bc it sometimes shows some abnormalities in the heart, etc.
They have a new receptionist which is great - except MH and I loved hating on the former one. She was such a pain. It made for great jokes though lol
I am going for my 12 week “first OB” appointment tomorrow morning, and also getting my NIPT screening done. I keep telling myself I will feel better after I get those results back, but really who knows! This will be my third ultrasound so I’m excited to see how the little guy/gal has grown!
@mc0303 Glad your appointment went well, and you reminded me to ask my doctor about the NT test too!
10-week checkup (and NIPT blood draw) on Friday with my normal OB, then the NT scan and genetic results at the MFM on Dec 15th. Starting to get nervous.
I had my first appt with my OB this morning (I graduated from my RE a few weeks ago). Appointment went great except for the fact that she was running an hour behind. Heartbeat was nice and strong, had blood drawn for NIPT and we talked about a plan for delivery. I want to entertain a vbac but only if it makes sense. We decided to schedule a repeat cs for June 23 and if I happen to go into labor earlier than that and things look good, I can try for a vbac. I love a plan.

I am cancelling my December appointment, actually. With Covid I just think it’s too big of a risk. I have a fetal Doppler and BP cuff, I may order UA sticks online and my midwife is always a text away. My MW office is *at* the hospital and cases were surging BEFORE Thanksgiving, they had to start converting units and pulling staff to fill the Covid needs. I hate this bug!

I had a checkup yesterday at 13w 1d (it had to be pushed back from 12 weeks because I tested positive for Covid almost 3 weeks ago). All went well. I actually won’t have an appointment in December. Since I’ll be 17 weeks in 4 weeks and a week shy to do the anatomy scan, she’s just having me come back in 5 weeks so I can get the anatomy scan done - so first thing in January for me. Yay! I figured I was going to have to wait until 21 weeks, so I’m thrilled with this. I’m assuming she wants me to have it done on the earlier side since I’m 41. She said because of my age, I’ll start having monthly sonos after my anatomy scan. The one benefit of being “geriatric” I guess. This is my third baby at 35+, but my first one in my 40s so she said more scans for that reason. 🤷♀️

I have my next appointment is on the 9th they said it’ll include a full physical but I’m not really sure what that includes they weren’t really specific except for I will have to pee in a cup and have blood work done. I’m not a fan of the doctor they had me see at my first appointment he was very awkward and not very informative so I’m glad they are having me see somebody else this time.
@brilea9 The last appointment I had with my OB was a full physical too. Which means it included a pelvic exam with swabs taken inside, a clinical breast examination, checked blood pressure, listening to your heart and lungs, had to pee in a cup and for a lot of blood work to be done. GL with your appt. I hope all goes well.
I have my 16 week appointment on 12/14. I can't believe that I'll be 18 weeks by the end of December, that just seems crazy! Shouldn't be a very exciting appointment. They will listen to the baby on the doppler and check the growth of the uterus. I'm guessing the next big milestone will be the anatomy scan in early January.

I had an appointment this morning. It went well. Baby’s heartbeat sounded good and was around 165. I got my nipt results back, everything was low risk!
I have an appointment 12/9 which is 15 weeks for me. I am considering seeing if they will do a video visit since COVID is continuing to get worse here. It is the first appointment of the day though so that makes me feel a little better if they do want me to still come in. I would like to limit the number of in person visits I have if possible to reduce my risk of COVID exposure.
Had my 12 week check-up yesterday at 13+4 (the holidays are messing up my appointment timing!) and everything went good. Turned out to be a full intake appointment so they did the ultrasound, I met with a nurse to go over my health history and questions, and then met with my doctor. Everything looks good.
I found out I'm doing my 20 week ultrasound with a MFM since I'm AMA. At this point there are no concerns outside of my age so I'm hoping this just ends up being more of a formality and they don't find any other high risk issues.
I also found out there's a small possibility I might have to have a c-section, I wasn't expecting that. I had surgery to have fibroid removed prior to my FET and I guess if there's a significant scar they may have to go that route. Its not automatically a c-section since it was done via hysteroscopy (no abdominal incision) but my doc said she would have to go over my RE's notes on the surgery to be sure. So more to come on that I guess.
Had the NT scan today and a check up. DH was allowed at the NT scan but was told he was not allowed in the room with the Dr. From here on out he is only allowed to attend anatomy scan, no more appointments.
NT scan was great. Little bean was moving a lot but held still in the first minute to gather the photo, so I was out in less than 5 minutes. All looks good and HB was 149.
I had a migraine stroke my first pregnancy and now I'm having migraines once a week. The NP is monitoring this and if it continues I may have to see neurologist as they don't want me to have the migraine stroke again.
Next appointment is the anatomy scan. Thankfully the NP was on board with me not going in for a 17 week checkup then the anatomy. She was all for waiting a week and doing it at once, which I appreciate. The less I can be at the office, the less exposure I have to others.
10-week appointment went well, despite my huge bladder causing problems with the Doppler and my tricky veins not being at all cooperative for the blood draw. Now to hope that the NIPT and Ultrascreen site low risk in two weeks...
After my bleed last night i likely won’t be cancelling my December appointment after all. We also are pretty sure that I have an anterior placenta, which will make home Doppler monitoring difficult for a while. I have an appointment on Sunday for a rhogam shot and HB check.

I have an appt today in 3 hours with my OB. Im hoping she will actually be able to find the HB on the doppler this time. Im 13 weeks today. If she can't, then im not sure what to think 🤷♀️
My Rhogam and VScan, post SCH, “appointment” went well. Baby was moving on VScan and Rhogam sucked as much as ever, but didn’t linger as much as it has in the past.

Had a really good appointment with the OB. I finally got to here the baby’s HB for the first time. 🥰 She found it on the Doppler in about 5 seconds lol. I recorded it for husband so he can here it when he gets home. It was so nice to hear it. So happy to know that all is still ok in there.
Had a good appt this morning! I thought it was an us but it wasn't. Dr had a tough time finding the hb and was just saying "let's move to the us room" when she got it- so it made me feel better that I've had a hard time bc she did too. The hb was right by my c section scar, which is super tender and I haven't wanted to press there. Got nipt drawn and I don't go back for 4 weeks!
I had a good appointment this morning. She couldn’t find the baby with the Doppler so she had to bring in the ultrasound machine, which she also struggled to find the baby with, but eventually she was able to locate it and we got some good views before she saw the heart fluttering. DH was on the phone and we were able to switch to FaceTime so he could see the baby and he even showed the kids. My littlest (almost 2) said, “beh-bay”. We declined genetic testing. It was a short appointment! I won’t be back until January! Oh and I also found out I’m 13 weeks today!
Had my very first ultrasound at 12w3d and baby looked great and is measuring 13w2d. Not sure if my due date will change but will check with my midwife.
We don't really do the NIPT test in NZ just the nt scan combined with maternal age and blood test so hopefully that all comes back low risk.
Next appt is in Jan around 18w with the midwife - just a doppler check and catch up!
Had my 16 week appt today. Went well, measuring perfect on fundal height. Next appt isn’t until January but it’s the anatomy scan!! Can’t believe it’s already coming up on anatomy scan time!
I had my 12 week appointment last week, everything looked good. But I found out for sure that this practice is no longer under my insurance network since the start of our insurance year (September). They thankfully let me have this last visit with them, but are asking me to move practices. I'm going to have to move to a practice that's inside a hospital (ugh). Just started making the phone calls.
Just had my NT scan, all looked perfectly normal. Such a huge relief! Since it was at the MFM they took their time and went into a lot of detail, explaining things to me as she went, which was nice. They also recommended an early anatomy scan by my OB at 16 weeks and then returning to the MFM for the 20 week anatomy scan, which I'm going to try and take them up on.
*TW* loss
My second loss was discovered at the 16-week checkup, so the idea of definitely having a thorough scan is comforting. I also decided against a CVS or amnio unless a concern presents itself at a future scan (NIPT was normal, full karyotype last time found no abnormalities, so there's no good reason to push for one), so having a scan 4 weeks later will also help me relax.
Yay @akoros! Congrats on making it past this milestone!! So glad your MFM took time with you and has a plan to get you through the next 4-8 weeks. Yayyy!!
@marebear15 that's so annoying! Nice that your practice let you stay for a bit. I'm currently seeing 2 specialists that are located in different hospitals and I feel ok going in- they have extra air filters in all the areas which is reassuring. The worst part is riding the elevators!
I'm so happy to read so many good updates! I've been so sick so my lurking has been minimal but reading about everyone's appointments, scans, and testing made me smile so big! Congratulations everyone! I hope those waiting for testing, next milestones, next appointments, and new doctors continue to have good outcomes! Keeping you all in my thoughts and sending lots of light to everyone here!
Had my 16 week appointment today, early at 15+2 because my doc is out for christmas next week. Everything went good, good heartbeat and we could hear the baby moving around on the doppler too!
Next appointment is 20 week with the MFM and then a follow-up with my OB!
Btw learned some fun things at my scan today, and how they can sometimes tell the sex at 12 weeks (btw, I'm going to butcher this, so apologies to anyone with a medical background). I put that in the spoiler in case anyone doesn't want to know. Also learned that this egg came from my right ovary. Normally after ovulating the ovary will collapse, but if you get pregnant it stays swelled up for a while to pump out hormones (usually, sometimes it's gone back down that this point, but for once I was actually able to see an ovary on the screen rather than just taking their word for it that it's there).
*TW* In case you don't want to know, in the spoiler:
While there isn't genitalia yet, there is a tube which is where those eventually form. For girls it's typically horizontal, and boys it's angled up (sometimes 45 degrees, which the tech said was funny to see). On the scan it's just a lighter/white line at the bottom of their abdomen.
@akoros I ovulated from my right too! I found out from the RE. I didn't know that about the ovary collapsing/staying swollen- so interesting! Bodies are crazy amazing. I forget, are you team green? Did the tech make a guess for you?
@akoros thanks for sharing. My tech told me I ovulated from my left ovary. It has a cyst on it too which is normal and goes away at some point during pregnancy. But she didn't tell me about the collapsed ovary. So that's interesting and I was kind of wondering during the scan why my right ovary was smaller compared to my left. Thank you for answering.
