I’ll chime in and say I also hate water right now. I find that having it ICE cold and with a straw helps, or I munch on ice chips.

+1 on water is gross 🥴🤢 I’ve been drinking San pelligrino Italian sodas. I’m not even sorry. The bubbly seems to help settle my stomach

I have been on the water makes me nauseous train too. Seem to be winding down now, thank goodness! Seltzer was a life saver because it was flavored, no sugar, and bubbly to help the nausea.

I have been living off ginger lime seltzer water. Those and ginger ale have been the only things to help my nausea.

Add me to the hating water club. I'm lucky if I can get one glass with a ton of ice down per day and flavored packets aren't helping either. Hoping this passes soon as I miss it.

@ramzlau I feel the same. I know hydration is important, and its usually just several bottles of water a day and some tea for me. I've been buying 100% juice and watering it down at least half and half.

Same! Water makes me nauseated. Well. Really anything I eat does. But when I’m eating I feel better for the 39 seconds. Which is why I just don’t stop eating and then feel awful when I do 😂

This is a LONG shot but has anyone else had experience getting a picc line placed? For any reason (doesn't have to be pregnancy related)? I'd love to pick your brain. My ObGyn's office is getting me scheduled for picc line placement due to my severe dehydration from my hyperemesis. They're running out of good spots to get IV access.

@ashaislurking my home nurse is suggesting a PICC line for me as well for the same reason. She said it’s a 20 minute procedure in radiology and can be used for fluids and labs. I don’t know much other than that.

Good luck! I will definitely want to hear about it. I had a bad night last night so my nurse suggested I do two bags today (spaced apart) my IV came out 1/4 of the way through the second bag because it was in such a bad place. I was going to IV zofran before bed too and now thats out. The PICC is sounding more and more appealing. I’ll discuss with my MW on Thursday.

@_orchid_ I have my picc line in place! It's sore but doing better today. I get fluids again here in a couple of hours so we'll see how that goes.

I saw a little further back in this thread that we were talking about fetal dopplers at home, but no one posted which one they have. I'd like some recommendations now that we lost one of the twins so late in the first trimester. My PGAL brain is on another level.

@mrs_massie I have the exact same one as @MelissaMay82 just in pink. Works well but I don’t read too much into the HB number, I just like to hear the HB sound whenever I feel a bit anxious.
They have really fast shipping in my experience.

I have the sonoline b and have used it in my second pregnancy. I’m 12&4 and my Doppler is pretty useless right now thanks to my anterior placenta. Check with your provider about where your.l placenta is because it’s anterior you may get unnecessarily freaked out!

@disgruntled_pelican thank you for the reminder about placenta location! I have the same doppler and was able to use it from 9 weeks on with DS1&ds2. I'm 11 weeks today and other than a quick second at 9+6 I haven't been able to find the HB. Gotta remember that doesn't mean the worst has happened! Thanks again.

absolutely @_orchid_! We discovered my anterior placenta with my sch, but I was getting a tiny bit anxious before because I couldn’t hear a thing at 12w. Tricky bugger!

So thinking ahead to baby clothing: what does a newborn need in the summer? My other 2 were fall/winter babies so all our nb clothing is long sleeve. I'm assuming that will be too hot? Our house has central air, don't nb have a hard time regulating body heat? But we'll probably be outside a lot with the big boys... Summer BTDT moms? Help?

@_orchid_ fantastic question lol I need this answer too. We keep it colder in the house so I’ll likely have him sleep in long sleeves and pants but I’m lost for the day time. I’m always cold and MH and DS are always warm so our opinions differ lol

@_orchid_ I had a July baby and she mostly lived just in onesies and socks or cotton jammies and then we covered her in light blankets when she dozed. I always tried to follow the rule of whatever I was comfortable in plus one layer.

@legallykate ohh good call!! I forgot about that rule of thumb. I think I will need to get some more light weight blankets. Any advice on sun protection? I know they can't use sunblock yet, but any other tips? DS1 is a fair redhead (born with a full head of red hair) so I'm wondering if this one will be the same (ds2 is olive skinned with dark hair)
@sgrn18 same! Haha it's 20 degrees out, my boys are in shorts and t-shirts only and I'm wearing 100 layers

@_orchid_ Ugh I forgot they can't use sunscreen at first. With DD I think we just stayed inside for the most part, but that will be harder this time since DD likes going for walks and we are getting our backyard fixed up so she will be able to play in it by June. I guess I will plan just to wear the baby and keep him covered/out of the sun although I will be sweating my butt off in the 100 degree weather doing that lol.

@_orchid_ It's important to remember that little ones do have problems regulating their own temperature. If you keep your house or car colder in the summer, long sleeves or pants may not be out of the question. I usually use light swaddles, lightweight sleepers, and onesies. As far as sun protection is concerned, a lightweight blanket to keep LO covered outside is a good idea. All of my babes are summer babies so if you want more info ask away!
ETA: if you have a pack and play you can put a crib sheet over the top so LO has some sun protection AND protection from bugs when outside!

@_orchid_ my oldest son was born June 8 so it looks like this baby may be born a few days before (according to my csection schedule)...I always thought my house was cold with the air so I used long sleeve onsies and baby joggers indoors frequently....Also, if you have a car that doesnt have vents in the back, baby stay warmer because they are facing the opposite way and circulation isnt great that way, so I always dressed him cooler in the car.

Thanks @ashaislurking @mrs_massie! So it sounds like most of the clothing will be reusable. I'll need to get some new sleep sacks since ours are all fleece and we keep it much cooler in the winter overnight than in the summer.
@mrs_massie the air vents in the back are a big reason we got a minivan! In my old car my rear-facing kids would be sweating buckets while I was shivering bc the way the ac moved through the car. I love that they reach have their own vents and I don't have to freeze!! Plus the sliding doors for the infant seat!
