Re: All Due Date Checkin w/o 11/30

  • @bblair24 as hard as it is to not freak out, I personally would chalk it up to anterior placenta.  I would say as long as you aren’t going too many days in a row right now it’s most likely just the placenta. If you’re really anxious too you can always try having something sweeter or if you feel
comfortable with caffeine try that and then try laying or sitting still afterwards to see if baby gets a little boost. I wouldn’t do it all the time by any means, but maybe just for some reassurance every now and then!

  • @bblair24 I did not even feel my first initial flutters with DS until 22+ wk. I didn't feel consistent movement until much closer to 30wk, but from 30wk on I felt him doing full on karate in my uterus. In my experience, totally normal.

Even now, I do not have an anterior placenta and don't feel consistent movement at 22+1. I feel it, and it can be felt from the outside sometimes, but its totally inconsistent and unpredictable still.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: April 6th; 22+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a coconut

Upcoming appointments: Dec. 16th for regular ol' check up

How are you feeling?: A lot of headaches still and fatigue is starting to set in, but overall pretty good.

Rants/Raves: DS is still so so clingy and I have to hold him almost constantly. Thats starting to get harder the bigger my belly gets. Its super uncomfortable if he's sitting on top of my bump, but he loves being held chest-to-chest more than on my hip so its hard to avoid.

    Questions: None right now.

GTKY: How many kids do you think you want / are you hoping to have? I always thought 4; even after having DS I was still on board with 4. But now? I'm not so sure I'll survive adding a 2nd to even consider a 3rd or 4th..

  • @kvh22 congrats on the move and good luck getting things settled! I really hope things pan out wi the your new OB and you can get into see them soon!

@kadeephd for the first infant car seat we just had one but two bases, but once we had the next one, we got two, mostly because those things can be a pain in the a$$ to install in cars!! And with us each transporting kids before it was worth it to just buy a second one for DH’s car.

@forevertired yeah I had that with my first. I also had sciatica too on both legs so that nerve was just always pinched and legs numb as well as tailbone sore. The yoga ball idea is great, that helped me a lot and just trying to stretch it out as well as you can. Good luck! (Isn’t pregnancy just so magical sometimes, lol!)

@bblair24 (sorry one more thing!) Won’t it seem so different in a few months when we all start talking about how we wish baby would just calm down, or stop kicking our ribs, etc and how we just can’t get comfortable because once we sit down, baby gets active!
  • @bbrahmbhatt, @theletlers, @mamabee1113 thank you guys for the comforting words! That makes me feel better. With my girls I was feeling them pretty consistently at this point (no anterior placenta with them), and it’s so hard to not compare this guy to them! I did just have caffeine for the first time in weeks, so we’ll see if that does anything. I’ll try to stay calm about it, though! And @theletlers you’re so right 😂 I’ll be trying to get him out of my rib cage before I know it!

Thanks for the early birthday wishes, @bbrahmbhatt!! ❤️
  • @theletlers @kvh22 yeah we both do daycare and drop-off and pickup, so if that continues it will make sense to buy one for each kid in each car.  It is annoying to take them in and out.  My son is pretty big though so it's possible he'll be ready for a booster by the time baby 2 is ready for a convertible, I guess?  We will wait and see, and probably end up having to get another two convertibles.

  • @bblair24 I echo what the other ladies said. I had two pregnancies with an anterior placenta and I did not feel regular movement until 23+ weeks. Try not to stress!
  • @bblair24 I had the same thing happen. I first felt her on 11/24 (DS’ birthday, that’s the only reason I remember), then didn’t much for another week. Yesterday and today I’ve started to feel a little more again but not anything consistent. I’m 21 weeks today and just had an ultrasound so I can see there’s a lot of movement I’m just not feeling much.
  • @runsoncoffee and @forevertired, thank you for sharing your experiences! That’s why I love this group - so helpful at calming my stressed out brain 😜 I ate some dinner (a couple dinners if I’m being honest) and I’ve been feeling some wiggles since then. It’s crazy how little you feel when you can see how active they are on the ultrasound! He wouldn’t stay still long enough for the ultrasound tech to see his heart earlier this week - she had to try multiple times - and I couldn’t feel any of it!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 4/3, 22 + 6

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: coconut

Upcoming appointments: Not until Dec 23rd

How are you feeling?: Just feel very fat. But energy is good. Some days I feel really exhausted but most I have a lot more energy than first trimester. Very emotional; I fluctuate between being very teary and super irritable.

Rants/Raves: I'm so irritable at work! Everyone bugs me...everyone! And I'm just over it. I would love to not be working and just working on growing this baby.

Questions: Are others feeling as though they are just getting fat and no baby bump is really developing? I just seem to be getting a flabbier middle and not looking pregnant.

GTKY: How many kids do you think you want / are you hoping to have? I think we would like 3 but depends how this one and the potential next one goes and also we are both older so depends on how quickly we want and can get pregnant.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 4/20, 20&change

    FTM/STM/STM+: 4TM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: boy!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: banana? I think?

Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan today! Next one is end of Dec.

How are you feeling? Tired and low-energy by the end of the day.

Rants/Raves: We’re going to take some pictures tomorrow for an official announcement - I’m excited!!

    Questions:

GTKY: How many kids do you think you want / are you hoping to have? This is #4 and definitely IT for us. I think originally we always said 4, and then it went down and then back up, but we’ve for sure agreed this is the verrry last one.

@kadeephd most have already discussed this but we for sure were in the same boat of one parent dropping off & other picking up so we had 2x seats in each car. And then #3 came around and we’d just drop her baby seat at daycare with her so the other parent could take it home. Now the hubs has a small car & only 1 seat in it so my car has 3 of the big seats & eventually we’ll use that 4th in mine too (once baby grows out of the infant seat). It seems bananas to have so many seats but yea, in don’t want to be changing the big ones too often - too cumbersome!

  • @bblair24, I've always consistently felt movement by 17w, even with my previous anterior placenta. But this time? I'm 21w today and JUST started feeling noticeable, consistent movements and solid kicks this past week. I had a loss in 2019, so that lovely added PGAL Brain means I start to panic every time I go more than a few hours between pings to my bladder. The NP told me not to worry about not feeling daily movement until closer to 25-26w with this one. Yeah, cause that will help!
  • @aisukurimsarang, I totally feel you on the PGAL brain! ❤️ That’s part of what’s causing my stress too. I really hope I’m feeling movement before 25 weeks 😬 I felt some flutters this morning, so I’ll take it! Any little bit calms my nerves, and then I find myself just waiting for the next set of wiggles.
  • @aisukurimsarang @bblair24 I'm with you guys on the PGAL brain. I will be really glad when I can routinely feel her move, so I can stop worrying so much. I'm constantly thinking "something is wrong, at the next appointment they're going to tell me I lost her". I wish my brain would help me out instead of making me freak out. I hope that we are all commiserating about being kicked in the ribs soon <3
  • @goldpolkadot I’m just now realizing (or remembering, maybe!) we have the same due date!

@kamikn with your first I think it’s normal to have your “bump” really show later. With my first kiddo I had nothing, no bump at all until I was like 24/25 weeks. And every woman carries differently too. But by the end we will all have a lovely pregnant waddle that would make Tyra Banks cringe!

b@bbrahmbhatt feeling baby move has definitely been helpful with anxiety for sure. I hope you all start feeling some kicks and babies start flipping around doing somersaults soon enough for all of us!
  • @theletlers Sure enough today my bump is definitely noticeable! Same happens with movement, I saw one day I'm worried there is no movement, and then the next day so much movement. Oh, pregnancy!
  • @bblair24 Murphy’s law!! Glad you got to feel an actual kick too not just a flutter!

@kamikn pregnancy is for sure a crazy time of life that only other mommas can relate too. It’s such a rollercoaster!
  • @theletlers me too! Maybe I should post something about how I haven’t been given large sums of money in a while. You know, just in case Murphy’s law works for that too. 😂
  • Pro - tip... Do not drink hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows first thing in the morning on a very empty stomach if breakfast isn't going to be ready for several hours. I basically just gave myself a 3 hour GTT crash. It was not pleasant. I was chopping onion and carrot for dinner while my very sexy partner cooked breakfast, when suddenly, the heat of the kitchen hit me, I got dizzy, nauseated, and had to sit down... When that didn't work, I went out into the rain and 38 degree morning, and finally laid under the ceiling fan until the world stopped spinning. As soon SO gave me a bit of potatoe to try, I realized what happened. Ate a few more bites, settled my stomach, then was able to eat breakfast. I was able to make dinner after eating breakfast. (We're having Shepard's Pie after walking on the river on this cold and wet day 😊)
  • I'm late to the game but yes to an anterior placenta impacting the sensation of movement. My baby did a full flip (from breech to head down) during our anatomy scan, and I did not feel a thing. Even watching it happen on the screen - nothing registered internally.
  • @bblair24 I'm glad you feel reassured. This is my second anterior placenta pregnancy (3rd overall) and I still felt anxious when I wasn't feeling a lot of movement. 21+1 now, and a huge difference from even 4 days ago. Baby won't calm down!
  • @rexnie I hope you feel those kicks soon before they’re too strong!!

I was pretty excited, DH and DS1 got to feel some kicks today! I keep telling him how active she is and how much more I feel this early on and DH always just nodded along. But tonight I was like “no feel right here!” And about ten seconds later he smiled and said “well I felt that!” They feel more like intentional movements too, not just flutters of movement and I don’t know what it is. She is straight up punching and kicking. Maybe she’s annoyed at her 2 year old brother’s very two year old sort of day. I know I am and wish I could just punch and kick about it.
  • @Lexibizzel it’s crazy how much of a difference a few days can make! I went from posting worried about not feeling him, to DH actually being able to feel a kick yesterday. It’s still nothing consistent, but I’ll take irregular movements over nothing!

@rexnie isn’t it kind of mind blowing to watch them move when you can’t feel them? In all the ultrasounds I’ve had this pregnancy the person has commented how active he is. And until this week-ish, I’ve felt none of it!
  • @theletlers I actually never felt kicks that were "too strong" with my first son. Not sure if it was the anterior placenta (have had it twice now) or if I'm just weird - I felt uncomfortable pressure from a huge baby but was never bothered by kicks or had trouble sleeping from baby movement.
  • @rexnie oh wow! That’s amazing! I’ve only had little babies and wasn’t ever big (with DS1 I could still fit in my regular jeans the day before giving birth) but I was so uncomfortable!
  • Regular jeans?! What ARE those? haha

Bodies are so different - it's cool!
  • @rexnie oh I’m the new mom the other moms hate. I suck majorly at actually being pregnant, but I’ve lucked out twice now that as soon as baby is out I feel great!
