Re: OCT 2020 FET

  • @emilynoel810 this is great detail, many thanks!! So 24 days from day one of estradiol, this information helps a ton. Also, the BCP quiets the ovaries, interesting to know since I have Leuprolide which also has something to do w/ the ovaries. And its good to know the extra cushion I have will make the injection more tolerable as I have read many horror stories.

@late_bloomer your timeline was helpful too, as I seem to be right on course. The nurse did say I should contact them on Day 1 of my cycle to schedule the baseline. Also, congrats on seeing the 2nd line, its such an exciting time.

Did any of you ladies take Leuprolide acetate? If so how long? I have been on it now I think for 34 days now.

AFM - the nurse finally called and pretty much said what you ladies have all said.

    • Come towards the end of my cycle between days 3-5 to ensure my lining has thinned
    • They will give me a cycle calendar on that day
    • She said I’m on a 14-20-day protocol
    • I will take estrogen for 8-14 days and progesterone for 6 days until the transfer.

Geez--I never wanted my cycle to start so bad :#  welp, looks like I may be a November transfer after all, guess I will know next week once my cycle starts.

Many Thanks Again, you all have really helped ease my mind !!

  • @late_bloomer 6dp5dt is still early!  Congratulations on seeing that line!!!

@laurad75 Hooray!!!!  I can hardly wait to hear how your H takes the news!!!  Fwiw I have a good feeling for you too 😊
  • @msldyc23 Glad it looks like you have a plan at this point! I have a Nov. 4 transfer date so hopefully Nov. is a lucky month!
  • @msldyc23 - thank you!  To your question, I was never on Leuprolide acetate.  It's funny how different clinics like different regimens.  I hope your cycle starts soon!

    @BusinessWife - thank you!

    AFM...in spoiler

I'm 7dp5dt and I confirmed yesterday's BFP on another HPT.  I have definitely been feeling the nausea, especially the past couple afternoons.  My beta is Monday but my wait just got a whole lot easier!

  • @late_bloomer - So glad to hear your update. I’m thinking of you! When’s your Beta? You are in L.A. right?

Also, what’s the syntax for doing a spoiler?

AFM, nothing new to report. Symptoms are cramps, acne, grumpiness, swollen/tender breast and sometimes headaches. No spotting though. I think it’s just the progesterone putting things into overdrive since, aside from the acne, it’s pretty much what PMS is like for me. The progesterone suppositories are starting to cause irritation so I’ve been showering twice a day to try to keep as much of it off my skin as possible. Everything just feels tender all over all the time.

I’m waiting to test until Tuesday (day of my Beta). My husband has a really important business meeting that day (at 1pm) because we have a bad habit of Big Work Days aligning with Big Life Days so I’m going to ask if they could not tell us the results until after 3pm just in case I’m super emotional (I think I will be no matter what). I figure we could pee on a stick when the meeting is over.

  • @laurad75 - how did your husband take the news during your hike?  It seems that we're on the same schedule. Congrats again and good luck with your beta on Monday!

@MooDaly - Thank you.  Good for you for waiting!   I couldn't take it anymore.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on Tuesday.  Your symptoms sound promising.  My first beta is on Monday.
And, yes, I'm just outside of LA.  Are you in the area too?

  • @late_bloomer Thanks! I’m up in the SF Bay Area. Thankfully most of the smoke has cleared out. I hate wildfire season.

  • @MooDaly Good for you to wait. I’ve continued to test like a crazy person but otherwise I would go crazy with anxiety.

@late_bloomer My ‘announcement’ didn’t go exactly as planned. There was no natural spot to do it and toward to top of our hike it became difficult so I was out of breath. Then we got to the turnaround of our trail and he said ‘okay let’s head down at a healthy pace so we get back in time for breakfast’ and I had to say ‘Wait! I want to tell you something!’  It was more awkward than cute but obviously it wasn’t really a surprise. Regardless he was super happy and we took a selfie to mark the moment. On the way down I think it sank in more because he asked me a bunch of questions about due date and general timing. Then on yesterday’s hike he initiated a conversation about names.

I still have no symptoms. My boobs aren’t even sore. I did feel pukey at dinner last night but still ate.

  • @MooDaly - I hear ya.  You definitely got more smoke up there this year.  Hopefully it doesn't get worse.  I'm really hoping we had an early fire season this year and that it's over now.  Fingers crossed.

@laurad75 - LOL. Well it's the thought that counts.  It sounds like he just needed a little time with the news.  My husband is the same way but he definitely isn't at the point of talking about names yet.  I think he's protecting himself from getting too excited.  **TW** Unfortunately, we experienced an early miscarriage a few years ago (but not with IVF).***
It's funny how different we all are with the symptoms.  My boobs are very sore.  I definitely feel the nausea - all day on Wednesday but only in the evenings for the past few days.  Maybe you will be one of those fortunate people who has mild symptoms throughout your pregnancy.
  • @late_bloomer!!! OMG! YAY!! Congrats on the second line!

AFM - Bad news...My cycle just got canceled due to fluid in my lining at my Friday ultrasound. They didn't want to wait because they said even if it goes away, that once you see fluid during the cycle, there is a reduced rate of implantation of around 25% so it just isn't worth it to me to continue and "see".

As of today, I stop taking estrogen and start taking 10 days of oral progesterone. then stop and within 4 days my period should start. I will call on CD1 and then fly up to Utah on CD3 for my new Baseline. If timing works out, the transfer would be just about Thanksgiving (likely day or two before, on or after). Not thrilled about this obviously, but would much rather wait a month than waste an embryo!!! I will follow you all through to see how everyone does of course, but I will be moving over to November now!! Good luck to everyone!!

@late_bloomer and @laurad75 congratulations on your BFPs. Fingers crossed for your betas soon.
@MooDaly you are a champ for waiting and not testing. I don’t have that kind of will power.
@ladyp0tter sorry to hear about the delay. But better be safe than sorry and waste an embryo. November is right around the corner, so it would be here sooner than you think.

AFM  I’m just waiting....agh until December. Technically if I hurried up with embryos shipment I could’ve done FET in November. But superstitious me still remember unsuccessful November cycle two years ago. Logically I understand that it doesn’t have to do with new FET, but infertility plays tricks with the brain 🤪. Anyways I probably need to start DEC FET  thread
  • @dukie001 - I feel ya, and crazy thing is, I actually tested the day before thanksgiving LAST year and was pregnant with my own egg and then it ended in a chemical, so this will be one year nearly to the day if my transfer is that week!! Crazy times!! My clinic lab closes in late December so I think November is my best shot if I want it done THIS year!!

@ladyp0tter Yeap, I had chemical too and I found out a day before Thanksgiving. Needless to say I drank a lot of wine 🍷 to numb the pain...and my husband also set up Christmas tree on that day just to cheer me up 😁. Anyways, it was all in past. And you have some beautiful embryos waiting for transfer, so it will be a success this time 😉

@ladyp0tter - I'm sorry to hear about your delay.  It's frustrating when our bodies won't cooperate.  Hopefully, you will have a great transfer experience to be thankful for this year.

@dukie001 - sometimes we get a feeling about things, so I go with my intuition on timing things too.

@laurad75 - wow, that's amazing!  Congratulations!  Are you feeling any symptoms yet?

@MooDaly - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow!!!

AFM, my beta today was 155 (at 10dp5dt).  My RE was pleased.  He told me to celebrate tonight.  It's an amazing early b-day present!  I go back on Wednesday for my 2nd beta.
  • That is good news. I’m so happy for you two! FX FX FX for Wednesday.

  • GL today with your follow up Betas! Thinking of you guys.

    My update in spoiler
Went in for the Beta yesterday, a very clear Negative. Less than 5. Whomp whomp.

I’m really bummed but coping. Ended up taking a sick day today because I’m such a mess. We have 2 normal embryos left so my RE is scheduling me for a hysterocopy for November just to double check that everything looks normal. I had one back in May 2019 and it was fine but I appreciate that extra check. I want everyone to go into FET 2 confident.

  • @MooDaly - I'm sorry to hear the news.  That's so disappointing.  I'm glad your RE is being extra diligent for the next one.  I hope you're able to move on to your next FET quickly.

@laurad75 - I hope all went well with you today.

AFM, my second beta was good (466 at 12dp5dt).  They told me that I don't need any more bloodwork and that my next appointment will be the 7wk ultrasound on Nov 9th.  I'm nervous about just hanging out until then with no confirmations that the little guy is still doing okay in there  :/
This is my first FET.  Does anybody know if it's normal to only do 2 betas?
  • I’m really sorry @MooDaly. I’m also hopeful for you that you can move on quickly.

@late_bloomer great update!  As long as bloodwork looks good I have always just had had 2 betas. I have requested a third in the past just because I was anxious but it’s not necessary unless you are experiencing bleeding or cramping.

AFM: beta doubled+ from 577 to 1261 (I’m 13dp5dt) and progesterone looks good too. I’ll go back on Nov 9 for ultrasound. I’m also switching to progesterone suppositories and only have to do
PIO every 3 days. For me, the wait between 2nd beta and 7w ultrasound is way worse than the 2WW.  It’s torture not knowing what’s going on in there.

  • @laurad75 - yay on the great 2nd beta! Also, I'm glad to have a FET buddy on the same timeline (hurry up, Nov 9th!).  Thanks for the info on the betas.  I might be okay to wait as long as the symptoms continue.  One minute I'm ravenous and the next nauseous.  It's not pleasant but at least I know something is happening.  I think I'd drive myself crazy if that suddenly stopped.
  • @late_bloomer same.  I'm starving and then I want to puke.  I'm exhausted and then I can't sleep.  The wait before the ultrasound is torture so hopefully it will go by quickly.

  • The past couple of days I've had terrible migraines.  Tylenol isn't helping.  I've tried ice packs, showers, and napping in a dark room.  It helps for a short time but the migraine keeps coming back.  Any other suggestions?  Is this a normal symptom at 5 weeks?  Thanks and I hope everyone is doing well!
  • @late_bloomer Yes, it's normal but it sucks.  I'm sorry.  It's likely due to the hormone changes.  My acupuncturist recommends drinking lots of warm water with lemon and eating leafy greens. When you're ready please join us on the PAIF thread and/ or June 2021.  There is lots of talk about symptoms at this point.  :-)

For migraines - make sure that you're very well hydrated. Also, if you feel comfortable with it - try some caffeine. Under 200mg of caffeine per day is supposed to be safe in pregnancy, and it can really help with headaches.

It's really hard to drink plain water right now (how is it even possible to have water aversion????), but what works for me: water with a touch of fresh lime or pomegranate juice, sparkly water (let some of the gas out, St Pellegrino seems to be best), peppermint tea, coconut water (on days I can stomach it, the best sport drink substitute!). I try to stay away from the actual sport drinks as they are just way too sugary.

  • @ladyp0tter - Thank you.  I'm super nervous because I've been having some spotting for the past few days.  I'm also not feeling nausea like I used to so I'm really hoping for something reassurance tomorrow.  Good luck on your mid cycle check tomorrow.  I hope everything is a go for the 16th!
  • Hi Ladies!  RE said everything looked great at my first pregnancy ultrasound (7w1d).  DH and I got to see the heartbeat, fetal pole, and yolk sac. Phew!  I was so concerned after the spotting I've had over the past few days.  I have another US next Tuesday with my RE and my final US with my RE 8-10 days after that.  I love that my RE wants to do 2 more before I transition to an OB at ~10 weeks.  I'm feeling very thankful for the care my clinic and RE have given me over the past couple years.   <3

@laurad75 and @ladyp0tter - how did your appointments go today?
  • @late_bloomer - GREAT NEWS!! So happy you saw the HB!!

AFM: I AM A GO!!! YAY! Trilaminar, NO FLUID and lining was measuring 11.1!! WOOT! Thank you God! Transfer is 4:30PM on Monday. Wish it was earlier in the day but oh well. I know I can never hold out testing, so I will TRY to be good and wait until day 5pt which will be Saturday but I may wait until Sunday morning since my transfer is so late on Monday.

  • @ladyp0tter - congratulations on your upcoming transfer!  It's so great to have a date!  I'll be sending good thoughts your way on Monday.
  • @late_bloomer Thank you for asking.  Ultrasound went great and baby is measuring perfectly.  HB was a strong 150.  My RE does not do repeat scans unless there is a concern so I am technically discharged but I requested a 2nd ultrasound given my history of losses, just for piece of mind.  I'll go back for a 2nd scan next Tuesday and then a couple of weeks later I'm scheduled to see my OB.

  • @laurad75 - good luck tomorrow!

AFM, I was originally scheduled for tomorrow too but I had some bleeding on Friday and Sunday so RE had me come in this morning. I was totally freaked out most of the weekend but everything looked good this am. The little guy is measuring like he should and his HB was 150 bpm.  RE thinks the bleeding is related to the placenta.  He doesn't seem concerned so I'm going to assume all is good.  Pregnancy after loss is nerve wracking but I've decided to find joy in every day that I wake up pregnant.  No matter what happens, this is a blessing.
  • Hi Ladies, just popping in to say my transfer went great. Now waiting to TEST!!! 3dp5dt now. Here is my little boy embaby. He was an AA grade and was hatching (although the thawed ones never look as pretty as the fresh ones).
