@disgruntled_pelican I will most likely have a repeat C-Section but even then, I probably won't be telling people the due date.

In fact, we didn't tell people (other than family) I was pregnant with my youngest until after she was born. Only people at work knew because they saw me every day.

Since I'm working from home for the rest of the school year, I won't be telling anybody (except for close family) I'm pregnant.

Hard to shake old habits after being a PgAL mom for 10+ years.

As for names, we were so undecided that when I was being discharged, we still couldn't pick between the 3 we were going back and forth on. DH went to fill out the paperwork and then didn't tell me DD's name until the next day!

  • @_orchid_ - I let my SIL-to-be know and she was very disappointed, thinking I would have to drop out of the wedding all together. We came up with a plan though that we both felt comfortable with, where I won't have any duties other than a small window to time for pictures and the actual wedding. I'm going to have someone else fill in for me at the rehearsal as well.
  • How far along are you? No f-ing clue! The bump app says I'm 5 weeks. Other apps say I'm 6 weeks based upon my period beginning September 9th. I had a doctor's appointment tomorrow, he wasn't enthusiastic about my HCG levels and is sending me an ultrasound to see if he can "date" it.

How big is baby? Somewhere between an apple seed and a sweet pea.

How many other kids? Ages? No other kiddo's. We have two fur babies who are very excited to gain another sibling.

Rants/Raves: I'm super frustrated with my gyno/OBGYN. I am getting a referral to a high risk pregnancy clinic because I have epilepsy and other issues.
I did my first HCG blood test on October 9th and it was  57iu/L. I did my second HCG blood test on October 16th and it was 779 iu/L.
I had my follow up appointment this morning and my doctor said that my levels were SUPER low on October 9th but it seems to be "ok" for now. But NO other feedback whatsoever. I am going for an ultrasound on October 27th and had some follow up bloodwork today (where my HCG level was not tested).
The constipation is UNREAL. Other than that and bloating - I feel great :)

Questions: Have any of you had a low HCG level at your first blood work appointment? Based upon the standard HCG levels, my level on October 9th seemed totally fine for 3 weeks pregnant and my levels on October 16th seemed fine for 4 weeks pregnant. The levels seem to even be fine if I was 4 weeks on the 9th and 5 weeks on the 16th. I think I'm over thinking my doctor's negativity today.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We met at a bar! He walked up to me and said "I'm gonna take you out on a date" and then proceeded to walk away. I found that to be the strangest thing ever. A few hours later, he came up to me again and said the exact same thing. I replied "that's kind of hard without my number isn't it?" he got my number and called it right in front of me in case I gave him a fake number. It made me laugh. We've been together ever since. We've been together for 7 years, married for 1 :)

Can't wait to get to know you more.
  • Hi @amberdem.  It's the increase between the first beta and 2nd that really tells the story and your second is strong so it shouldn't be a concern.
