Found a like-new Bob Revolution on FB marketplace in the town next to where my MFM appts are. Includes snack tray and Graco carseat adapter. Won't fit the Slimfits we just bought, but will fit the Snugfit 35 that was offered to me by one of my co-workers at lunch today! Maybe it's meant to be? I have a MFM appointment next Thursday, I'll just have to message the seller and find out ;)

  • @WildMagelet yes go for it!!! My Bob has held up great!
  • @WildMagelet was it a good discount??
  • @birdiejo - They're asking $175, might be able to get it for less. Probably $600 new including the accessories?

  • DH and I are trying to decide on whether or not to get a car-seat/infant carrier.

We got the Graco Slim Fits, which will be great for baby to grow with for each of our vehicles, but are questioning how frequently we would utilized a car-seat as a carrier, especially in the light of COVID-19. I don't know how much we'd be going out in public, socializing, or shopping where we'd necessarily need an infant carrier in the first several months. I've read that traditional baby seats / strollers can be used starting around 4-6 months, which will put us sometime end of May through beginning of August.

    Thoughts from STM/STM+?

  • @WildMagelet I think this is a tough one regarding the current climate with covid. Normally I would say. Yes. Get the infant seat. It comes in handy all the time. But.... yeah.... if you’re not going to stores, restaurants, anyone’s house, a coffee shop... anywhere etc.... then maybe you don’t need it?
  • @WildMagelet I’m still team infant car seat even with the pandemic. You go to the doctor so often in the beginning, family members’ houses, etc. It is just so convenient not having to wake baby up grabbing them out of the car for every little thing.
  • @WildMagelet I am also team infant seat. Especially for winter babies. It’s much easier to put them in the car seat inside, buckle them up and throw a blanket on top and carry outside than to take your baby with no coat on outside and buckle them in the freezing car then put the blanket on top. I agree with everything everyone else said too. There will still be (lots of) drs appts, store pickups, etc. However I agree you will probably be using it less due to Covid.
  • Thanks for the input, ladies!

  • @WildMagelet I'll share the opposing view. DD1 totally used the infant seat for all the good reasons mentioned above. DD2 my core/back were so bad I couldn't carry the thing at all. DH still liked it but I had no issues using the convertible seat then baby carrier, or stroller (bassinet or reclined seat). I would usually put the baby carrier on, then my coat before getting into the car so I wouldn't have to goof around with it a bunch at the destination. Grocery shopping while baby wearing was much improved because I didn't have the infant seat taking up the whole cart. I don't recall a cold seat bothering my daughter (September baby).
