I'm taking my companies required Information Security training. This is the type of thing that those who know it practice it, and those who don't are never going to learn. So every year it's a waste of time, but this year, I'm 90% sure that they are playing the same one as last year, so it's even more annoying than usual.
Anyone doing a Halloween pregnancy announcement? We are likely doing the pregnant pumpkin-in-a-pumpkin thing, but wondering if anyone else has good ideas!
@ckmb_1250 too early for me personally, but i LOOOOVE the pumpkin in a pumpkin announcements! also love skeleton shirts i have seen with a baby skeleton over the belly
@ckmb_1250 we were going to do a Halloween announcement! We were just going to paint the due date on a pumpkin and caption it with something like “No tricks here! Our little pumpkin is due May 2021” We changed our minds when we found out we’re having twins though and I think we’re announcing next weekend (weekend before Halloween). I think the pumpkin in a pumpkin announcements are cute!
I was considering not making an announcement until February or later. I’m telling family and friends that I see, but I thought a surprise factor would be fun.
I caught DS's cold that he had last week. I thought I escaped it 😩. DH had it a few weeks ago, then DS, now me. DH's work requires him to get tested for COVID whenever he is sick so he was tested when he had it so I know it's just a cold. I hate being sick and being sick while pregnant is worse!
Oh and adding, we have told all of our family and I told my coworkers because we are all really close. We have a mini photo session Sunday so we are planning to take some announcement pics then but probably won't share them on social media until maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas.
@gusgus14 I've had a really hard time with liquids this pregnancy. I have days when I barely drink anything bc I have to force myself, which is very unlike me.
@spartan4life I’m glad it’s just a cold, but it’s sucks to have one while pregnant. Lots of tea, red raspberry leaf, the fruity ones, are good. And soup! Wishing you a fast recovery.
@texas_t that is the best shirt ever! Where did you get it?!
After getting the text saying no one can go with you to appointments, they told me that spouses can come for ultrasounds, they just have to wait in the hall until we are called back. So 12 week untrasound he can come to!

@mkc3888 thats great news! i got similar news in that DH can come to 12 and 20wk scans (they are conducted in a different location than my OB office), and there are different rules. i am so excited for him!
I'm probably doing the announcement around Christmas and maybe after we know the gender. I love my married last name, so useful for Christmas announcements. There were three of us last year, so it was Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas. So maybe it could be, "this year there's another Ho in our Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas."
@asf0613 Yes we got matching skeleton jammies for all of us and mine are the Motherhood Maternity ones with the baby on the belly. I'll be almost 14 weeks and Halloween is our fave so it's perfect!
@nbcarlson I got a skeleton belly shirt too! 👏🏻 I’ll be 13 weeks and it’s getting to the point where it’s obvious so it’s a good time for an announcement.
@mrosek91 I did. From a spot near us that we love! I found out someone I know is also due next May so I wanted to make my pic...not me...in case they show up here. LOL. I like changing it up so I'll probably update it from time to time anyway.
@spartan4life I've also had a cold for the last 2 weeks, and I'm miserable. My NeilMed sinus rinse has saved my life. Hope you're feeling better soon!
@yellingbanana I'm also tempted not to do any kind of SM announcement until well into next year. We'll announce to the rest of our extended family (aunts/uncles/cousins) in the next few weeks, then we thought we'd do a photoshoot for Christmas cards this year and send those out to everyone else in our circle. The rest of the world will have to wait until they see us again, which at this rate may be never

@kiki047 thank you! I hope you feel better too! I am starting to feel better but still a bit of a runny nose.
I collected my SneakPeek test tonight so hopefully I didn't contaminate it!! I did it before DH and DS got home so 🤞 it's accurate! I can't wait to get the results.
My 1 yo has the trifecta - teething, diaper rash, and diarrhea, I don't think I slept for more than an hour and a half at a time last night. I am so tired I can't find the energy to brew a cup of coffee. Send help.
@mrosek91 If I were local, I totally would have sent you coffee via Seamless. Hope you're still afloat over there!!
I had no problem asking hubby to go out in the rain this morning to get me doughnuts from this great place that just reopened. I thought it was drizzling but it was actually full-on pouring.
my bump is getting ridiculous and regular leggings are so uncomfortable. SO I finally managed to make some maternity leggings. Is the band supposed to go upto my boobs?! 🤣 I don't have any store bought ones to compare them with. Pic in the spoiler.
Can all can all these pregnancy apps please be updated for covid? Mine just keep telling me how great it is to bring your partner to your appointments and to start planning your babymoon 🙄🙄🙄 c’mon.
Happy Sunday! 💖 Here’s a shopping link if you feel like treatin’ yoself or sharing gift ideas for upcoming holidays.
Things I got: 1- I don’t know why I never considered using an insulated tumbler to keep my drinks icy cold 🤦🏽♀️, so I ordered this giant Yeti tumbler and dug out the small coffee cup-sized one I have in the meantime. Game changer for keeping bedside table water cold overnight, and I’m using so much less ice now. 😁
2- I haven’t gotten any maternity clothes yet (besides bigger sports bras) so I got the Girlfriend Collective maternity yoga pants and matching nursing sports bra (all their other sports bras are sold out in my size). I found the Blanqui yoga pants in stock and cheaper on Shopbob so I’m trying those too. I’m committing to mostly yoga pants for the duration (Lululemon “Align” pants are a gift from God IMO, and I hear a lot of women don’t even go up from their regular size in them during pregnancy. But I’m trying other more affordable brands before I invest in any more pairs. I could live in them 24/7.)
3- I got the Uniqlo underwire-free bra. Bras are really my biggest concern. I’m a 36DD pre-pregnancy and am already into a 38, and trying to find affordable brands/styles to get more of as they take over my entire body. 😂😭
PS I already have the sleep mask and back massager in this article, and can co-sign on them both. 👍🏾 The eye mask in particular is something I can’t live without because we have giant windows that would cost a fortune to get blackout shades for. I also hear I should pack a sleep mask in my hospital bag cause the lights are always on there.
@ec1212 About the sleep mask, it really depends on your hospital and if you have a private room. Some places allow dimming of the lights and other places have multiple women in one room.
I'm planning on bringing both a sleep mask and earplugs because I know the hospital where I'm going doesn't have private rooms.
