Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 10/6

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs

R/R: Weather here has been absolutely beautiful lately. I started running outside again rather than the treadmill and it has been nice!

    Rant in spoiler, TW

I had a lot of patients who knew I was pregnant, so I had been getting blindsided by the “how is the pregnancy going?” questions a lot after I first got back. Whatever, it was still early and I hadn’t lost weight yet. Most people would seem awkward and change the topic when I tell them we lost the baby, and we just move on. But one yesterday really pissed me off. She knew that we had scheduled her apt a little early because I was supposed to leave later this month, and she looks at me and says “you really don’t look pregnant anymore, what is up with that?” So I told her and tried to move on, and she kept asking about it over and over. Asking for details. Ugh. Like, it’s one thing to not realize what is happening and accidentally ask someone about a pregnancy, but to 1) identify that they are clearly not pregnant 2) still feel the need to ask about it 3) not immediately drop the subject and 4) ask someone for details about their loss while they are trying to do their job just blows my f***ing mind.

CS/Q: My temp is already up above my typical cover line, which is confusing. I think I’ll start OPKs early just in case. I usually don’t O until CD 16-18.

@fitzfizz whoa. That is awful of her. I’m so sorry you had to encounter such a shitty human being.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @fitzfizz wow. People can be something else. I’m sorry.
  • @fitzfizz OMG! Can you break up with a patient? I’d totally break up with her over that! How insensitive!

    Month/Cycle: 4/5

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: vitex prenatals, extra vit C and E, BBT, CM, CP, HIO EOD starting CD15 (unless vitex works miracles this cycle and I ovulate closer to normal

R/R: nothing amazes me more than a 4th graders inability to read directions. 🤣 I had 10 emails yesterday asking what time our zoom meetings were at. In order to do any of their work yesterday, they had to open the days schedule, which had the zoom meeting times along with the meeting ID and password on it. 🙄 Some days, I wish I taught older kids. Lol. It’s also DHs weekend, so I’m heading to school, because otherwise I would get absolutely nothing done at home. For a rave, I suppose I can give praise to what I can only assume is vitex shortening my period flow length. It was crazy heavy yesterday, but today is nearly nothing, which is pretty unusual for me this round of TTC.

CS/Q: eh, it’s just boring temps.

  • @fitzfizz oh my gosh I am speechless. I’m so sorry you had to go through that

@chindimples04 I’m going to have to look into vitex. I’m also curious about ground flaxseed after you guys talking about that in randoms. My period is absurd and I’m over it. My OB did the same as yours, told me to go on BC, but that’s not really helpful now!

@kenneylynn3 yay for uninterrupted sleep! The best!

    Month/Cycle: 22/25

    CD: 11

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: There was an annoying thing at work yesterday, there was an email discussing reassigning the clients of this guy who is leaving and my boss apparently didn’t like something I said and sent a crappy email back. I sent him a separate email like WTF but then someone else replied to the group email and smoothed things over (basically said what i meant in a different way) so then my boss never replied to me and I will now never know what the problem was. I know you are probably thinking “why can’t you just ask him” or something rational but he isn’t a rational person. Bringing it up again would mean I’m sensitive, emotional, overreacting, etc. So I learned a long time ago to just let things go, but it’s still annoying haha. I am in the office today so I treated myself to a PSL on this perfect fall morning!

CS/Q: I also just realized I forgot to check my clear blue reader this morning, I’ll be able to pop it out and back in and see the reading, right?

  • @fitzfizz what did you say that finally made here STFU? Honestly, the gall. I’m sorry you had to go through that. *hugs* Also, your temps are super low compared to mine.

@chindimples04 I’m glad you find humour in your 4th graders’ inability to follow directions/read. At least their have an excuse (not used to it... still young...) Tbh, and I’m guessing here, I think teenagers could be worse and they don’t have the same excuses! Enjoy your day in the school. Stay safe!

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + TI, vits/supps, baby aspirin. Blood testing for me; more in depth urology testing for MH.

R/R: I slept so poorly and I don’t even know why. Woke up a bunch of times and according to my wearable device, I got about 40 min of REM sleep last night! I was looking at new Fertility clinics last night just before bed, so “dreamt” about that. Today is gonna be rough and I have meetings most of the day. Also still haven’t O’ed. My body is defying the norm. My LH is still high (surge started 24 hrs ago) and I don’t think I’ve gotten to a peak OPK yet. Weird! RHR is still high too and usually it drops after O. 🤷‍♀️ Oh and no tender boobs. Really bizarre. Hoping I will O today...

    Ah simul-posted with @bows22 and @Kenneylynn3

@Kenneylynn3 glad you had such fabulous sleep! That makes one of us.

@bows22 that work situation sucks mostly because of your boss; I’d want to know what the problem is too! It’s too bad when grownups act like kids. It’s even worse when that’s their MO. Anyway, I hope the reassignment of clients doesn’t end up you have to work more hours & weekends.

@fitzfizz Ugh, just ugh. I'm so sorry, that woman is awful.

@chindimples04 Unfortunately adults aren't much better...I guess the one positive is that you can mess with them a bit more, like just typing "I see you haven't done your homework yet?"

@bows22 Ugh, that's so irritating about your boss. I work with some people like that to, it's just not worth pursuing even if that's the "right" thing to do.

I think I'm ovulating today-ish, so not sure if I go here or TWW...

    Month/Cycle: 28/2 AL

    CD: 15

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, vitamins

R/R: Putting off performance reviews. Kind of both a rant/rave, because I'm stressing about them, but it's also a good idea that I learn how to do them before I officially become a supervisor (right now I'm a non-supervisory team lead, but the plan is to move that to supervisory later next year so I can take care of it when my boss retires in 2022). Basically: learning new things/responsibilities both sucks but is good

    CS/Q: none

  • Omg @fitzfizz wtf is wrong with people?? I’m so sorry that happened to you.

@chindimples04 that’s so funny about your students haha. I work with primarily preschool students and I have to tell you their parents are often a mess when it comes to logging on for virtual sessions. I feel like everyone is just so overwhelmed about it all!

@Kenneylynn3 I’m glad that you got to sleep in to a better time today!

    @bows22 Ugh I’m so sorry...that’s such a frustrating situation.

@acleverusername come on O!! Sorry you didn’t sleep well last night.

@akoros it totally is hard to add new responsibilities and learn new things at work. I’m in a supervisory position for the first time this year and it’s so different!

    Month/Cycle: 11/10

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: Clomid, ovidrel, IUI

R/R: This is the longest week ever! I think it’s because my day started so early yesterday so I still don’t feel like I’ve caught up on sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night to DH laying on my hair which always seems to put me into a panic when I’m half asleep haha. So I’m still tired, and feeling behind on work stuff on top of it. Just trying to take it one day at a time over here lol!

    CS/Q:

  • Will come back and update later, but just wanted to say @fitzfizz I am so sorry-- that's incredibly insensitive and frustrating. I feel like that's the conversation we all fear having AL but *almost always* people have a lot more tact than that. I'm impressed you were able to keep it professional and not lose it on her. Not sure if I would have had the composure!

  • @AKuzReve and @And846 Thanks ladies! Luckily most people are better than her.

@chindimples04 Technically I can break up with a patient, but there are sadly really strict criteria for it and I have only been able to do it once. A guy was verbally abusive to my staff and we had to call security. In this case, I am sadly stuck with her.

@Kenneylynn3 Sleeping until 7 is awesome! I hope it made for a good day.

@bows22 Your boss kind of sounds like a misogynistic dick, I’m glad you rewarded yourself with a PSL to compensate 😊

@acleverusername Regarding low temps, I was very surprised when I first started temping in December, but I have tried two different BBTs and it seems to be accurate. Weirdly, I have to check my temp at work every day, and there I am typically high 98s pre-O and mid 99s post O. I don’t really understand it, but my body temp is just weird.

@akoros New responsibilities can be exciting, I hope the new position goes well. Regarding WTO vs TWW, most people move over when they are pretty sure they ovulated, such as getting cross hairs, but I don’t think there is really any rules to it.

@runningoncookies When I read your comment about how long this week had been, I was mentally agreeing, then realized it is only Tuesday...

@bumblebee0210 Thanks. And yes, luckily most people have more tact.
  • *lurking* im supposed to be in WTO but so many comments by the time I log on that I can’t keep up lately. :)
@fitzfizz @acleverusername I think @kiki047 mentioned this recently. But awhile ago there was a large group of us that discussed lots of intimate details of WYDTGKU, & one member shared how vaginal temping was so much more accurate for her. Like @fitzfizz, I had pretty low temps. I eventually got over my trepidation & made the switch and lo and behold, my temps are much higher but also way more stable & reliable. Fitz, your temps look pretty reliable so this may be a non-issue. Just sharing. :)
  • @keikilove I have thought about it, but I am usually only about 30% awake when temping so I am not sure how it would go... My charts usually aren’t smooth, but (barring any thermometer shenanigans) they seem to be consistent enough to pinpoint ovulation, so I haven’t bothered to switch yet. I do wonder if I sleep with my mouth open without realizing it, but at least it seems to be consistent.
  • @akoros performance reviews are the worst. I have to fill out evaluations but never have to actually give the review. But I hate having my own review. I’m sure you’ll do great and catch on quickly!

@runningoncookies I didn’t realize you worked with preschool kids, I was picturing you with older ones....that sounds exhausting to have to do virtually!

@ke@keikilove @ac@acleverusername @fi@fitzfizz when I temped it was vaginally - I figured I would just go right to the more steady method to make sure I could confirm O. And I did have some nice looking charts! But @fitzfizz there were definitely times when I fell asleep temping and woke up later with the BBT still down there.
  • @bows22 😆😆😆
Waking up & slowly realizing the thermometer is still down there.

  • *lurking*
@keikilove @bows22 y'all are making me howl with laughter this morning, ohh the # of times I've fallen back asleep with the BBT still in there....  but it did work!! @fitzfizz if you do decide to make the switch, I highly recommend it. I had much more stable and predictable temps that way. And after the first couple times it becomes like second nature so it's not as awkward as you might think.
