  • @ladyp0tter - that is amazing!!! Considering your donor history, I won't be surprised if most of the embryos come back normal <3

@qtpie8711 welcome to the group! This place can really cheer up during some hard times. Looks like you have a solid plan for IVF. Are you doing fresh transfer right after or FET?

AFM I had my first appointment with RE today. I and my husband have good vibes about him. I definitely not doing the FET in October. They can’t ship my embryos earlier than November as they all booked up. Which is ok. We agreed that I start on meds in November and we do the transfer in December. But I’m here to cheer for you guys!!! Dr. also told me that they do only one lining check before transfer, which comparing to my other clinic is very different. In my old clinic they monitored very closely. But I do have faith that everything will be alright.
  • @laurad75 - great news on the lining! Best of luck with the transfer next week! I’m also a big fan of Vit D (but mostly because I live in rainy Pacific North West and it’s pretty much a must for half of the year here)

  • @dukie001 Thanks 😊 For my protocol only FET is possible. I'm ok with that though. The idea of going from stims directly to transfer is a bit much, since I mood swing like a wild woman even when I'm just on BCP. With all of the estrogen and meds I expect a transformation worthy of theme music.   I think giving myself and DH a small break may be best. I'll probably actually transfer in December like you 😁

It's great that you are so happy with your new clinic and doctor. I'm starting to realize that trust is gonna be a key component of this whole process.

@ladyp0tter - that's amazing!!! So exited for you and @Andreamm31@andreamm31

BTW - don't read too much into grading! The important part is the chromosomal normality, and I'm keeping fingers crossed that most (or even all!) come back as normal.

    My amazing 2 year old started as a day-6 BC-graded embryo :)
And I'm currently almost 6w with a BB-graded one (not sure if it was 5 or 6 day though).

Good luck with growing a thick, plush, sticky lining :D

  • @laurad75 that’s good lining, you are on the right track.
@qtpie7811 I think FETs actually have higher  success rates than fresh ones. So finger crossed. And Yey for December!
@ladyp0tter AA is fantastic. Out of all my stored embies I only have BBs. Do they give you the number or just the letter grading? I heard some clinics do just the letter as this is more important

How many time does your clinic do lining check before transfer?
  • @qtpie8711 Welcome! I’m sorry you find yourself in this situation but even just lurking on the forums has been a comfort to me. I wish you good luck :)

@ladyp0tter That’s great news! What fabulous numbers! Are you over the moon?

AFM, had my CD11 check in today. I’ve had three blank OPKs so far so I wasn’t expecting any results but lo and behold, my RE saw that my follicle is over 20mm and lining triple line over 7mm; it’s trigger time! We’ll be triggering tonight and then they’ll call me once my bloodwork is run to let me know if we’ll transfer on Saturday or Sunday (10/10 or 10/11). I’m happy that it’s on the weekend so I don’t need to take time off work and can just relax the day of the transfer. Then, I learned that I don’t have a TWW (!!!!) and they’ll have me in for my first beta the following weekend. It’s all happening so fast that I didn’t even start to plan a mini-getaway.

I’m pretty sure I’m not going to test in-between the transfer and the first check-in. Let’s see if that’ll actually come true

@ladyp0tter Fantastic! All 3 is just wonderful. You must have been shocked.  I'm brand new but 7 sounds like a dream come true.

Probably starting stims on the 20th. Did you ladies do anything in advance to prepare? Supplements or diet changes?
  • @MooDaly - congrats on the ball rolling (so fast!!!)! The timing sounds perfect, and it's awesome that you don't have to wait long for Beta either! Best of luck!

@MooDaly - YES!! I am OVER THE MOON!! So relieved as when I first heard the numbers I was worried we would lose too many but she has amazing quality so at this point, I have to trust God!! So exciting about your trigger!! You have a fast timeline there and that is awesome!! Jealous! I still have to wait 3 weeks to transfer.

AFM looks like we have a date for FET and it is 18 December.
  • Sitting in the waiting area of my RE's office for my BASELINE U/S today!! Flew into Utah to do it. I have two more flights out to do my 10 day U/S and then the Transfer. I may even be coming out to do my Estrogen and Progesterone check 6 days before transfer because I am having a BITCH of a time trying to find a clinic locally to do ONE day results. I did my TSH at a local clinic and it took them FIVE days to give me my results back!! NO WAY!! So, instead of going to my old RE and spend a couple hundred on bloodwork since I am not his client anymore, I may as well spend $250 to come back to Utah one more time!! The things we do for our babies!!

    Praying everyone is doing well!!

  • Hi Ladies.  Sorry I dropped off for a while but things were crazy at work.  I just did my transfer today!!! I had one PGS normal 4AA embryo and my RE said my lining was perfect (although he's always very positive).  I go back on Oct 19th for my beta test.  The 20th is my birthday so I'm crossing my fingers for the best birthday gift ever :)

@qtpie8711 - I'm still laughing about the "transformation worthy of theme music". Lol. And yay to starting meds soon! I didn't change my diet (other than limit alcohol) but I did try acupuncture during a few of the egg retrieval cycles.  I had mixed experiences with that and I think you really need to find someone who specializes in infertility.  I also did guided meditation (on an app) which I actually found useful.  I also kept myself occupied by planning fun outings (but My ER cycles were all before coronavirus).

@laurad75 - yay to a transfer next week!  I can't wait to hear how it goes.

@dukie001 - sorry that your wait is a little longer.  We will be rooting for you in Nov/Dec!

@MooDaly - you're so close!  Good luck this weekend!

@ladyp0tter - your numbers were amazing!  I'm sure you have great news coming on Monday!

  • @late_bloomer Congrats on the transfer. I love how RE’s talk about linings and that yours is perfect. Mine always calls my lining “beautiful” and it makes me giggle. I read the calendar wrong, I thought I’d go in for my Beta next Sunday but it’s going to be on Tuesday, your Birthday!! I’m hoping for a very nice birthday for you

Alright, today is the Big Show. Getting in a little coffee to kick start the day but my transfer is in two hours. I’m so excited.

  • Alright, guess this makes me PUPO.

Transfer was fairly easy and not painful at all. The only hiccup was my bladder. I thought I timed drinking water perfectly because I had to pee as soon as we got to the clinic but I apparently didn’t have a full-full bladder so I had to wait another 30 minutes and drink more water.

Once it was all over and all the doctors and nurses left the room, I started ugly-crying. It was so emotional! My lovely and supportive husband was like “do you want to tell me what your feelings are” but it was really indescribable aside from “overwhelming.” This whole thing is overwhelming but I’m going to take joy in this next step.

    Fingers crossed.

@ladyp0tter - thank you and congratulations.  5 is amazing!  It sounds like a boy is meant to join your family! Good luck on your upcoming lining check.

@MooDaly - that sounds like a lovely transfer experience!  It's so nice that you have such a sweet husband. It really is overwhelming to see the embryo on the screen.  What a special day.  Keep us updated because I'd love to hear if you're having symptoms.

AFM - I'm 3 days post transfer and I've got another week before my beta.  I want to wait And not test but I'm not sure I will be able to hold out that long.  The good news is that I've had several symptoms, which makes me think something is happening in there.  I've felt exhausted, nauseated, my ears have been ringing (which never happens), and yesterday I had some cramps (but no spotting).  And then I feel normal for a few hours.  I'm hoping those are all good signs and that my little guy is settling in for the long haul.
  • @late_bloomer - YAY!! Congrats on being PUPO!! You  have some amazing symptoms there!! I hear you on testing though...I always say I want to hold out as long as possible but honestly, I never can. I am going to try to wait until day 7 this time. I think I started at 5 or 6 last time and although I had a line, it was a super squinter and was hard to know for sure. STICKY BABY DUST FOR YOU!!!!

  • @late_bloomer congratulations on being PUPO! The symptoms are right on especially being super tired. Fingers crossed for you.
  • @ladyp0tter and @dukie001 - thanks for the reassurance.  I've never gotten this far with IVF so I'm flying blind here.  😁
  • @late_bloomer 3dp5dt and you weren’t kidding, these cramps are no joke. Trying to stay neutral since I know the progesterone causes cramps but it’s hard to stop myself from symptom spotting.

  • Hi,

I need your help ladies as I was hoping to be joining you ladies on this cycle but I may have to go to next month.....

This is my first IVF. I’m 37, a triple negative breast cancer survivor w/ extremely low AMH, very mild adenomyosis & have 2 tiny fibroids.

I received my PGS results yesterday 10/13 and I am grateful to have one normal embryo to transfer.

    My questions are as follow:

When did you get your cycle calendar?

What medicine and protocol were you on?

When exactly did you start your medicine?

Did you have to wait for your actual menstrual cycle to start before you proceeded w/ the actual embryo transfer?

How many times did you have your lining check before the transfer?

I ask these questions b/c I have been lurking the treads a while and notice most women had a calendar w/ an expectant transfer day  before they received their PGS results, and started one or two medicines weeks before the transfer.

AFM- I have been on leuprolide acetate for 32 plus days and had one US on cycle day 4.

I’m getting concerned b/c I feel like I should be on more medicine... I have a box full of everything just sitting and waiting now for over a month.

  • @msldyc23 - Hi and welcome!  Congrats on getting a normal embryo!! I was so hoping to have one of my own to do that, but unfortunately had to move to donor in order to get any normal embryo's. To answer your questions:

I got my calendar a couple weeks before my transfer cycle started but it was easier because it was timed to coincide a bit with my donor's schedule so I wouldn't have to wait to long after getting PGS results to transfer.  I was on birth control until two days before my baseline. Then started estrogen the day after my baseline. I will add progesterone in oil 6 days before my transfer and then on the day of my transfer I will also add in progesterone suppositories.

Since I was on birth control for about a month, I did wait for my new cycle (which was planned with the stopping of birth control). I will have 2 lining checks (my baseline and then 10 day). That should be it. That seems to be the norm for most people. MAYBE one more if my lining is low at day 10, but if it is good, then I will just start progesterone the following week. I have my 10 day lining check this Friday!!

  • ladyp0tter thanks a ton for the information. You give me hope that a transfer is still possible this month. My cycle is expected to start early next week so I’m hoping to get an actual calendar soon.

I guess I assumed that once I received my PGS results my nurse would be contacting me today w/a plan. I’m just feeling like there is no urgency w/ my clinic

  • @msldyc23 I didn’t get my calendar until CD1 of this month.

    My timeline:
    Last ER July
    PGS results Aug
SIS Sept - scheduled once CD1 in sept started, meds ordered this month once SIS cleared me for the FET
Transfer Oct - scheduled once CD1 in oct started

I’m doing a natural cycle so the only meds I’m taking are Ovidrel to trigger and progesterone suppositories starting 4day prior to the transfer and continuing until they tell me to stop.

    Welcome and good luck!

  • Welcome @msldyc23! Congrats on the PGS normal embryo! I'm still in the prep for the retrieval stage so unfortunately I don't have answers for your questions yet. I understand how you feel as well about the urgency. I raced home from work every day this week for the delivery of my medicines only to call the clinic and find out they hadn't sent them yet. They'd decided to wait until after my next consultation with my doc. But no one bothered to tell me. When it did come last night it had so much paperwork for me to fill out in it that I wanted to send it back lol! Hopefully, the ladies farther along in the process can let you know more about their experiences. Good luck with your transfer!!

Update: Meds arrived and I'm translating the Japanese and trying to figure out what they have me on. The pill is Provera. Is that progesterone? And the injections simply say HMG. It's a powder that I think I'm supposed to dilute with a solution. Fingers crossed it's not Menopur. I've heard about the burn. Are there any other common HMG meds?

Welcome @msldyc23. For an FET I take bcp prior and then estradiol orally and a vaginal+ patch (I need a lot of estrogen to get my lining up). Then I do progesterone in oil for 6 days before transfer.

    AFM: spoiler!

I usually don’t post on while I’m out of town because I hate the app but this is an exception. I tested this morning. At 7dp5dt it’s the longest I’ve held out so I’m rather proud of myself. It was a strong BFP. I had ZERO symptoms. Nothing. So I was worried but there was no mistaking that line. Yay!  H and I are going hiking today so I’m going to tell him then.  I have been down this road before but as I have said I jus had a feeling about this embryo.

  • @mooDaly thanks a bunches sounds like I may  be on the right track w/ the calendar & will continue to patiently wait

Also That’s great you only have 2 medz to take. I heard it’s a lot to keep up wIth when you have multiple. I plan to purchase an organizer b/c I have so many.

Best of luck w/ your upcoming cycle.

@qtpie8711 thanks & happy to hear you received all your medication. Believe me I feel your struggle. I recall the pharmacy calling and asking me questions about the prescriptions I was to take & I had NO CLUE what they were talking about b/c my nurse never discussed any medication w/ me.

For the retrieval Hmm I think I took Ovidril, Cetrotide, Gonal-F & something else to trigger but I can’t recall the name.

Congrats & well wishes w/ your upcoming cycle

@laurad75 thanks a ton for the info. I also have estradiol orally, vaginal+patch but haven’t started yet. I guess that concerns me too b/c I feel like I should have started that by now.

How soon before your transfer did you start the estradiol?

I also have PIO, I plan to take a numbing cream w/ that as I heard that’s pretty painful.

Congrats on you HPT- thats such exciting news!

  • Hey @msldyc23 For FET my clinic has me do birth control first to "quiet" my ovaries, then, once we know the transfer day, I stop BC for 2-3 days and am on nothing (I bleed a little but not a full period). Then I start the estrodiol orally, 2 days of 1mg twice a day, 2 days of 2mg twice a day and then up to 3mg twice a day plus 1mg vaginally for about 20 days right up until the transfer.  I also start 6 days of PIO, 6 days before the transfer.  The whole thing from the day I start the 1mg estrodiol to the day of transfer is 24 days. My clinic does a baseline US the day before I stop the BC, another one the day before I am scheduled to start PIO, and a final one 2 days before transfer. If I were you, I might reach out to your clinic and ask if they have a transfer date and/or when you should start your estrodiol. FWIW, I haven't found the PIO shots to be too bad going in. The injection spots tend to be a bit achy later in the day but the injection itself is tolerable (although I've heard if you are quite skinny or bony back there it can be worse. Alas that is not me...).

  • @laurad75 - congratulations!   That's such exciting news!

@msldyc23 - I didn't get my schedule until my first US appointment on Day 3 of my cycle.  They had me start taking oral estradiol that day.  Then I added progesterone suppositories and IM injection 6 days before the transfer (about 2 weeks after starting the orals).

@qtpie8711 - this stuff is confusing enough in English.  I can't imagine doing this in another language!  Yes, Provera is a progesterone and HMG is Menopur.  Don't worry, it's not too bad.  The burn doesn't last long.

AFM, I'm 6dp5dt.  See my update in the spoiler.  (I've never used the spoiler option so apologies if it's screwed up.)

Yesterday, I was on a conference call and it felt like I started bleeding.  When I got to the bathroom, there was nothing.  A few hours later, I saw a little pink. That happened twice last night.  Needless to say, I was freaked out.  I read that it could be from the cervix being irritated by the progesterone suppositories but I decided to test this morning (using an expired cheapie HPT).  There was a second line!  It was faint but it was there!  My husband saw it too.  Of course, I will test again tomorrow morning.  I guess I'd better buy some better HPTs. 😊
