@bblair24 YES!!! I have to pull up the app every.single.time!! Unless it’s thursdays. Which is the only day I remember that the weeks change. But then I have to go into my calendar and check WHICH week 😆🤦🏼‍♀️

Goodness, I'm only 7 weeks and I'm already sporting my maternity clothes. 😭 Currently my regular jeans and leggings make me nauseous from the slight pressure on my bloated belly. I remember last time, I wasn't in maternity clothes till 16 weeks but now I am just SO BLOATED. Unfortunately, being in Canada, they closed motherhood and thyme so now I'm stuck being only able to buy stuff online. I ordered some blanqi leggings (never tried them before) and some stuff on h&m and old Navy so we shall see. I do have a couple dresses from pink blush that I like. I'd definitely recommend pink blush

Anyone ever tried a Seraphine parka/coat? Thinking of ordering one. Or if you have a maternity coat from somewhere else that has the removable panel, I'd love to hear your experiences/opinions. Thanks!

@theblondebump I like Seraphine in general but I got a cheaper coat at motherhood on clearance. I was only in cold weather for a couple weeks and it was while visiting family so didn't have a ton of time outside. It did not have a zipper, just a belt/sash(kind of peacoat-ish). We're hoping to move to the Northeast by November and honestly, I'm not planning to buy a more intense coat than what I have. BUT this might be my last pregnancy (we're up in the air on a 4th but leaning towards just 3). If I knew I might need a maternity coat for more than just the one pregnancy in serious cold weather, I might consider something nicer. BUT BUT (lol) with an April due date, you might fit your regular coat for a good part of the winter depending on how roomy it is and there's no guarantee that a future pregnancy would have you in the 6-9 month range during the winter months. I think @kelseyhh had a maternity coat with a zipper/panel.

@theblondebump I can’t comment on seraphine or a coat with a removable panel, but I got a maternity winter coat from H&M with my first and I LOVE that coat. It is so comfortable and cute. It’s like utility style with pull cords so you can cinch it when you aren’t that big and let it out when you’re bump requires it. I used it postpartum too and easily wore DS in a carrier inside the coat. If you are planning on having more kids, I’d suggest just getting a straight up maternity coat. Especially in PA (that’s where you are, right?), where it stays cold for a while. (I’m in MI.)

I'm perpetually cold and LIVE in my canada goose from november to early march haha, but it's a slim fitting parka and I know there's no way it'll be fitting me even in December this year. I like the idea of the kind of coat I can remove the panel, or wear baby underneath

@theblondebump yea if that's your style normally than I'd splurge on a nicer one. Sounds like you'd get a lot of use out of it. I'm not really a puffy winter coat person, even during college in New England being outside a lot walking around campus. I run hot so I get too warm in that stuff, especially pregnant. If you're looking to get that for a deal, I'd check places like thred up and poshmark for used ones.

I've gotten away with never needing a maternity coat. It just doesn't get cold enough in Texas. I can usually just handle my regular ones open with scarves.

I haven't even thought about a coat, but I probably should. I live in Chicago, so I will most likely need one. I guess I've just been assuming I can wear my regular one and leave it unbuttoned?

@goldpolkadot I've never ordered anything maternity until the Blanqi leggings recently that everyone raved about, so I honestly have no idea about Seraphine haha. I just saw the coat online and it looked awesome and I know I will need a maternity coat so I figured I'd ask on here if anyone had any experience with Seraphine before. But it doesn't sound like anyone has ordered from them.

@bbrahmbhatt if covid stays a thing and you are cooped up at home 100% of the time, you could probably plan to do that. For me though - my rib cage spread so much and boobs got significantly bigger so even unbuttoned, I couldn't make my pre-pregnancy coats work. And even postpartum - it took almost a year for my rib cage to get back to even close to where it was pre-pregnancy. Maybe that won't happen to you, but my bones definitely spread.

wow, that's pretty crazy about your bones @juliebird6 I didn't realize that was a thing! I definitely feel you on the boob thing though. I already can't wear a single regular bra I have haha. I've been living in sports bras. I have to go to this wedding next week so I guess I have to buy some new bigger bras before then! haha.

@goldpolkadot I have a sweatshirt and maybe one or two other things from Seraphine (sweatshirt is also nursing friendly - I love it!). Fit is pretty normal - most of their stuff is *fitted* so I could see sizing up potentially but I usually order the same size that I do for other maternity clothes and my pre-pregnancy size. I do go up from a S to a M if places are missing sizes from motherhood or something and that's actually been fine (maybe takes a little longer to fit the bump) and I ordered an XS in something from H&M that fits fine for now but we'll see if I outgrow it before I'm full term (it was a very inexpensive black t-shirt dress I really wanted they were out of in a S and M lol).

@bbrahmbhatt Ooo it can definitely get cold there so I'd say it depends on how much you have to be outside. Like I mentioned above, I run hot so with a hat, scarf, and gloves, I don't mind an open jacket over a warm sweater. Maybe you finagle a hair elastic or rubber band through one of the buttons/button holes so the coat doesn't blow open in the wind as much (like the same thing you can do with jeans to make them last longer).

@kvh22 yes, it does get pretty cold here. My coat is sort of a puffer with a zipper, so there's no great way to hold it together.

I don't know if anyone is interest in Motherhood clothing items, but they are having a $50 off $100 or more sale today. I've been looking for reasonably priced maternity stuff and stumbled upon that sale today.

@bbrahmbhatt there's also this for $45 from Amazon (I googled maternity coat extender and found this one from a whattoexpect article saying it was their "top choice"): https://www.amazon.com/Zip-Us-Jacket-Expander-Panel/dp/B01A8P9T8U. I'd say you could see how long you can go and have this as your backup if it's too cold unzipped.

I was due in December last time and I didn't buy a maternity coat. I just used my coat unbuttoned towards the end. If I had been due in Feb or early March maybe I would have gotten a coat. I'm hoping to avoid it this time too.

My pants are getting TIGHT 😫 I just ordered a couple work dresses, shirts, jeans, leggings and dress pants from thread up. What about pregnancy panties? Anyone have suggestions for over the belly vs under the bump undies? With my first I just wore my regular pre-preg underwear but I stretched them all out and they became unwearable. I liked the high wasted ones for postpartum last time because I had a csec but maybe underbump would be cooler during pregnancy?

@jenn622-2 I preferred under belly panties for pregnancy, but over the belly ones for postpartum. I had a mix of pants/shorts that were over the belly and side panels, so I didn't want my panties over my belly sticking out of my shorts lol

@jenn622-2 I bought some cheap underwear at Costco for 3rd tri of first pregnancy/immediately postpartum that I didn't love so was okay with stretching out (went a size up, actually). Last pregnancy I also got some underbelly ones specifically for pregnancy from Kindred Bravely. They're fine. I don't necessarily feel like underwear is something that needs to be pregnancy specific (like shorts - I have a few pair of maternity shorts but regular workout shorts are just fine for pregnancy for me). That being said, I'm wearing them right now and have worn them a good amount postpartum. They're just comfortable in general but I'm due for some new underwear after I'm back to my pre-pregnancy size after this baby (if it truly is our last - we're leaving the door for a 4th open). I 100% feel like over the bump underwear would be so uncomfortable.

@jenn622-2 I generally prefer under belly things! Although I’ve never bought maternity underwear. I bought a size up pack of normal underwear when I was pregnant with DD2 I think and that worked fine for me! So far this time I’ve been wearing some super comfy ones that I bought over the summer. I’m not sure what material you’d call them, but they don’t have a waistband on them so I’m wondering if I can get by with them once the bump is bigger.

I wonder how long I can keep wearing super tight leggings. I am bloated but I feel like I do not have the full gut yet. I like everything being tucked in and flattened but I don't want to do any harm!

@lbonista I think you'd get reallllly uncomfortable before you'd actually do any harm. The uterus is below the pubic bone until 13-14 weeks. I think I started showing 17-19 weeks with my first and probably closer to 15/16 with my second (curious to see what happens this time) - so that's like legit firm bump. I am personally of the mentality to switch to maternity pants as early as possible but I've been lucky enough to be in sweater weather for all 3 pregnancies. My pre-baby #1 style was not pregnancy friendly but most of my wardrobe has transitioned to be a little bit looser since I've been pregnant or no more than 14 months postpartum the past almost 4 years.

@jenn622-2 I’m all about the below the bump underwear. I wore it during and post pregnancy last time, this time I’ve already switched because I’ve found ANY sort of pressure on my low tummy makes my nausea worse.

I actually feel like most of my clothes are pregnancy friendly, I wear a lot of loose fitting things. But my chest is enormous, I was a 32DDD before I got pregnant. Now I feel like everything is super tight in the chest/back.

Been living in leggings and long and lean tanks from target. It's hard to get used to having boobs again! I feel like I need to buy new sports bras and leggings but usually wear Lulu and don't want to spend a lot of money on something that's only a year or so. So basically, it's leggings and sweats for now while I work at home.

I’ve been noticing that my usual size leggings are getting a bit tight on my stomach 🙈 If I roll them down a bit it feels much better. I was doing a Target pick up order the other day and checked
out maternity leggings, but they were almost 3 times as expensive as the normal leggings so I passed on them. I gave away all of my maternity stuff when we moved here a few years ago, so that’s nice haha.

Lol my boobs always grow eventually but it is not at all dramatic in first tri. Although this time and last time I was BFing a toddler so they're kind of deflated at that point as my milk slowly dries up 😂 it's funny how different it is for everyone.

yes! @bbrahmbhatt I figured they'd get bigger but I thought it would feel more like fat haha, but they are super firm, I was not expecting that. I'm sure that'll change!!!!

@kvh22 I was just laughing about that with my hubs while reading these comments last night. I dont get that luxury anymore 😆 Haven't stopped breastfeeding since I had my first and I know that's def why. Will have to wait til the postpartum engorgement haha.

Ive wanted a slight reduction and lift for a while. I told my husband I would only have kids if he agreed to pay for it, lol. A tummy tuck is also on the table but we will see how badly I need that.

Not sure if someone else posted this but Macy’s carries Motherhood and Pea in the Pod brand maternity clothes and they are having a sale right now for 30% off! I just got way too much stuff. Ruched tanks are $8!

Does anyone have any suggestions for maternity lounge or sleep wear that is loose? Everything I can find is fitted and I DO NOT want tight leggings or a fitted anything when I’m trying to sleep. I have a handful of regular t-shirts that I just sized way up in, but do any of you have suggested places to check or tips?
