If you are a contributing member who has been active here for a full 3 months with a BFP this week, CONGRATULATIONS! Please share your success with us here.
How do you know if you're a contributing member?
1. Ask your heart if you have contributed positively here. 2. Do these people know you? Will they be happy about your pregnancy? 3. Have you offered support to others or have you just blasted your own info out there? 4. We ask that you only post here if you have been participating meaningfully here for at least three months.Sometimes the silence is kindest. Those of us who lurk BMBs will see your intro and PM/comment/love tit. 5. Again, take a moment and step away from your excitement and ask your heart if posting would be potentially hurtful. ----------------------------------------------------------- This thread has mild restrictions - thread is primarily BFP announcements but doesn't allow for direct questions or lengthy/personalized congrats in the comments. Use the "Love It" button or "congrats!", "H&H 9 months!", "I was hoping this was your month!" and other short & sweet notes.
Regular board rules apply-- this is not the place to ask if you are pregnant based off your symptoms or for second opinions on your tests. We do invite you to contribute in the daily TWW and WTO threads and discussions. This community gives back tenfold what you put into it! When you see somebody who has possibly violated a guideline of this thread, please quote the section of these guidelines and include a callout to the poster, but keep snark to a minimum. If you have a post called out, please edit your offending post to add a note that you've been made aware of the rule and will keep it in mind in the future (if you are being asked to change wording due to unintentionally offensive phrasing, please remove that part of your post with a note of "EDIT: Removed offensive phrasing"). CD/DPO of first BFP?
How many months/cycles had you been TTC?
How long have you been an active participant on the TTGP board? (minimum: 3 full months)
What did your chart look like?
What were you doing TGKU?
How was your timing? What symptoms did you have, if any? (CS & CD breakdowns welcome)
I want to preface this by saying that I really never thought I'd get to post here, so this feels surreal and TIA for listening to me blubber through it... if you know me, you know I'm a little verbose so I'll try to keep it succinct.
CD/DPO of first BFP? CD34 @ 10dp5dt, confirmed by repeat blood betas at 14dpt (249) and 16dpt (640).
How many months/cycles had you been TTC? Since Dec 2017, lost count of exactly how many that has been.
How long have you been an active participant on the TTGP board? (minimum: 3 full months) 2.5 years, since May 2018.
What did your chart look like? I used to think that I'd for sure chart my FET cycles just so I could have something pretty to look at, even if it was influenced by the meds, but alas that didn't happen because I have to get up so many times to take my meds that I'm too damn tired to bother trying to add temping to that. Also, most of my rx are now taken vaginally and I've been temping vaginally since @nomangos23 put me onto it like 2 years ago so I really didn't need anything else in that hole. (sorry, shameless/gross plug for one of my fave TTGP grads! Hi!)
What were you doing TGKU? This was our 2nd FET with a PGT-A tested embryo. Prior TTC history in my sig.
How was your timing? What symptoms did you have, if any? (CS & CD breakdowns welcome) This was a frozen transfer of a 5 day, 6AA embryo with a medicated cycle so my RE did not so much care if/when I ovulated because they were controlling every little detail with the medications. More on that in the IF threads if you care to go back and read any of the drama leading up to this FET. My lining was only at 6.2mm 4 days prior to transfer, and was already compacting, where 6mm is usually their minimum threshold so we weren't feeling too confident. But we opted to go ahead anyway because we've waited so damn long for this and my RE figured if we just throw everything we've got at it, maybe (hopefully) something will stick. And it did!!
I had/have every symptom under the sun because of the extremely high doses of hormones I've been on for several weeks, so the bloating, heartburn and sore boobs started pretty much the day of the transfer. I started getting insane hot flashes and some more intense cramping around 6-7dpt, and at 8dpt I had the hiccups 2-3 times a day, for only about a minute at a time which was really weird. That's when I started to think something might be up (shout-out to my TTGP ladies who held my hand through the SS). When I finally caved and POAS at 10dpt it seemed like the 2nd line on the FRER was pretty faint but I still turned a FRER digital, which was TOTALLY surreal. This is our first ever BFP, and we're equal parts thrilled and terrified.
This was my HR during that time period - can you tell when I was waiting for the damn FRER to turn?
How are you going to/did you tell your partner? MH was more anxious for me to test than I was, so to satisfy his Accountant-style analytical mind I told him the basis for what HCG #s should be and the doubling rate and told him to do the math on when I could reliably test and be assured that it should be above 50mIU/ml to turn a test, and he came up with 10dpt. I asked him how he'd want me to tell him and he jokingly said, "maybe spell it out on a cookie?" I couldn't sleep so I got up early, and was surprised he slept through me crashing around the ensuite in the dark. I dropped my (empty) pee cup which make a big clatter, then it felt like the FRER wrapper was so loud, then my cat heard the crinkling plastic and was making a racket trying to get in to see what I was doing. But miraculously he was still asleep when I got back in bed. I snuggled up behind him and breathed in his ear until he asked me if something was wrong. I turned on the light and showed him the HPTs, which of course he couldn't read, so I had to spell it out for him. He made a little yelp and just held me for what felt like forever. Once he could speak again, I think his first words were "so... where's my cookie?" There weren't as many tears as I thought there would be, and I don't think we'll really be able to breathe until this little nugget is earthside with us, but we're ecstatic and relieved and he's dying to tell people already, lol.
Anything else to add? I've been here for 2.5 years and have seen many, many people come and go. The ladies I've met along the way have been warm, thoughtful, uplifting, considerate, and just downright some of the brightest lights during what was arguably one of the darkest periods of my life. I truly could not have done this without TTGP, and for those of you who are still here fighting the good fight - you're doing great! Don't give up hope. Lean on your friends when you need them, and be kind to yourself.
If I could go back in time and tell my naive, hopeful past-self anything, it would be to cut yourself some slack because your IF isn't your fault, and to trust your instincts and advocate for yourself when you feel something isn't right. I didn't go with the fanciest, most well-known RE in the area but I had a good feeling about him, and this month marks our 2-year anniversary since we started with him and he has been our BIGGEST advocate along the way. So find people you like working with, who make you feel supported and who validate your feelings, and it will go a long way towards making you feel like you're setting yourself up for success instead of just beating you down even more.
And lastly, with a special note to my IF ladies, I want nothing more than to see all of you get your THBs and get the heck outta dodge. I'll be lurking often, and cheering so hard for you. I know everyone says this but they really do mean it - I can't wait for the day when I don't recognize a single name on here.
