Ugh I was only 5+3 yesterday and felt like total crap. I took some B6 and I *think* it helped but it may have been a placebo effect. I didn't notice when it wore off, which I did last pregnancy (although I didn't start that until 8 weeks). It's super smoky here (wildfires) so I'm wondering if it was more to do with that. I'm curious how I'll do once I start having to be human today (kids are still asleep and I've been working for an hour on the couch).
Still tired (as I will be for the next year of my life haha), my boobs still hurt like crazy, and I'm having more random waves of nausea. A sad new symptom is that sweet things taste terrible to me right now. This is a new one - I craved sweets like crazy in my previous pregnancies. I keep trying them and they just keep tasting awful. They don't even look appetizing right now. It's a bummer!
Editing to clarify: really no food looks appetizing. I had grilled chicken nachos from our favorite mexican restaurant yesterday and those were amazing. But the normal every day stuff that we have here...I don't want any of it!
@kvh22 I hope you and your family are ok in the midst of all the craziness in CA right now! I hope you start feeling better soon, smoke always makes me feel sick, even if it's just campfire smoke.
@bblair24 I am right there with you with the sweets thing! I typically love chocolate and I don't want anything sweet; it just doesn't sound good, and if I try it, it is just too sweet and makes me feel sick.
I'm still really tired most of the time; I do get some random waves of energy but mostly I'm tired. My queasiness seems to be worse in the earlier part of the day and lets up later on. Still though, nothing really looks or sounds good, food is not interesting to me at all right now. My boobs are the sorest they have ever been in my life, and I still have low pelvic pressure/twinges. Today I feel kind of crummy, but I think it's just the nausea combined with the fatigue. Bleh.
Sleepy for sure. The nausea has been realllly bad yesterday and today. I know that if I just eat *something* that it'll help but the forcing a few bites down is bleh and then after I do eat I feel full which makes me feel even more sick. Oy this morning I was like HOW many more weeks of this again!? It usually takes me until around 16 weeks for it to pass.
I'm 6+6 today and i'm just exhausted. I have a real lack of motivation to do work stuff. The food aversions are so much worse than i remember them being with my daughter. When i eat i'm so full for like an hour and then i'm either ravenous or nauseous.
I was craving a salad from Panera today, so i went and got that... it was delicious and i was able to eat the whole thing... (and the chocolate chip cookie i decided i needed as well)!
At least I'm not the only one feeling terrible, I guess. 5+4 and I am so tired, and sadly also sleeping like crap. I woke up at 3:30 today and could not go back to sleep. I tried to nap when my son went down for a nap, and couldn't fall asleep. So frustrating. And I'm getting pretty queasy now. I just want to lay on the couch and do nothing.
I barely finished my virtual lesson with students before I had to dive head first into a trash can right there on the floor of my classroom. So there’s that.
A bunch of other obnoxious preggo symptoms too, but the rest don’t matter with this nausea. Thank god I see my OB tomorrow. I’m going to ask for nausea meds because noneeee of the otc methods are working at all.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with the pregnancy insomnia. I'm 5w1d, and I got a pregnancy pillow to try to help. I'm so exhausted all the time. I've been thinking about places I could potentially take a cat nap at work and not get caught lol. The queasiness is still there, but hasn't gotten worse so far, but my OB said it is likely to get worse in the next 1-2 weeks.
@bbrahmbhatt yea, the increase in morning sickness is super gradual I don't really notice a change day to day, but week to week I can definitely tell it's worse (I'm only on day 3 of it this pregnancy so that's my past experience). It's the same when it eases - when it's gone, it just magically disappeared for me, but as it let up over 4 weeks, it was very gradual until "poof" - I felt fine very all of a sudden (which comes with it's own bit of anxiety but that doesn't usually happen until second tri).
My face decided to break out yesterday, so that’s a new one. I usually get pimples right before my period and I don’t remember breaking out in my other pregnancies. Nothing like adult acne to make you feel good!
I’ve also been sneezing way more than usual. Not sure if that’s related or not, but it’s funny timing. With my pregnancies with the girls I always sneezed twice in a row. It doesn’t seem like that’s something that pregnancy should make happen, but it happened with both so I’m assuming that it wasn’t coincidental. I’m not double sneezing this time, but have been sneezing multiple times every day.
Ugh yes, the pregnancy rhinitis sucks with the sneezing. If I don't have time to brace myself, the RLP is so bad! Definitely the worst part of the sneezing for me.
@bbrahmbhatt and @kvh22 it must be the rhinitis! I didn’t connect the two because I don’t feel congested. And YES @kvh22 if the sneeze sneaks up on me and I’m not in the right position it hurts so bad!
My boobs hurt so bad, I don't remember this last time! I'm wondering if a sports bra would help or hurt?
I'm so tired and so nauseous. I get more nauseous in the morning and before bed, it's so fun to try to sleep when nauseous. Drinking water is nauseating too, but I'm so thirsty. I also can't stop peeing.
I almost passed out and/or threw up during my blood draw yesterday. It was so warm in the room, and she couldn't find the vein and was really poking around in there, between the heat, the pain, and breathing through my mask I couldn't handle it. I asked for a granola bar and almost ran out of the clinic. Then called my husband and told him to make sure dinner was ready asap.
Of course it's all a good sign that everything is on track, so I'm so grateful for every annoying symptom.
@thedomesticgeek I currently only own sports bras and they seem much more comfy than what I remember from my last pregnancy. The only bad pain is putting them on or taking them off!
I have many of the same symptoms as you ladies, but there are two this pregnancy that I don't remember from last time: gassiness (namely, belching - like, college dude belching!) and thirst. I drink a ton of water already but I'm constantly thirsty!
@thedomesticgeek I’m also only wearing sports bras like @riff323 said! I guess the compression keeps movement to a minimum so it’s really all that’s comfortable right now. But yeah when I take them off and unleash the beasts that hurts. 😂 I’m sorry you felt so sick! Sounds like a bad combination of uncomfortable things. I haven’t minded wearing a mask at all until recently. Now when I wear them I feel anxious and queasy and like I can’t breath.
Does anyone else notice their boob soreness fluctuating day by day? Some days they're so sore I'm like don't even LOOK at them, and other days they're sore but not as bad. I assume this is normal?
I have weirdly never had sore boobs as a pregnancy symptom. I'm still BFing so living in nursing bras and tank tops. I had 4-5 months of a regular bra in the past 3 years (I've been BF for the rest of that time). Bras with no underwire were clutch (so comfortable) - I love Lively's.
@kvh22 I've never had sore boobs either! Strange how varied the symptoms can be.
For those who are struggling with sleep -- are you taking anything to help? I've taken Benadryl a few times and that helps a bit but I still wake up very early and can't get back to sleep. Last night I tried Unisom and it worked, but I felt like death today.
Hello persistent vague nausea! I'm not really full blown like my last three pregnancies, but it is definitely there. I also have this insatiable appetite now. I think that's a product of baking a human, and feeding a human.
@kadeephd ugh I don't take anything (maybe I should) to help with sleep. I just try to go to bed early and get naps in when I can, especially on the weekends. Also, once or twice a week, I miraculously fall back asleep. Last night I slept 10:30-5, 5:45-7. ALthough I'm still super tired right now lol. It's easier to get a nap in now than last pregnancy since we aren't going anywhere. Obviously FTM pregnancy is the best b/c you can sleep in and nap on weekends lol. I also find that it gets slightly better when I'm not as tired after the first trimester is over...until mid/late 3rd trimester.
I got zofran from my OB today and I am SO looking forward to being able to eat again! I threw up in a plastic bag in the car going down the road yesterday because there wasn’t time to pull over to the shoulder. The bag wasn’t empty either..
@kvh22 No sore boobs here that I can remember with my other pregnancies! When DS was nursing the other day, I thought one side seemed a little more sensitive, but nothing really dramatic.
The symptoms may be slowly creeping in for me. I was already having blood sugar & pressure dips (I get very low in pregnancy...time to pace out my food intake so I have small snacks throughout). I have felt really hungry and no aversions, but tonight supper didn’t excite me. Perhaps the sickness I had with DS will be arriving. Planning to curl up with ginger ale and crackers when DS goes to bed.

I’m new here commenting (it took me a while to figure it out :D ) , but I’ve been following the thread! This is my first pregnancy and it’s been comforting to have some shared experiences!
The worst symptoms now (6w) are gas cramps, they’ve been beyond painful, like curled up on the floor, but once the gas passes all is good. So strange. Also, nothing sounds appetizing at all to eat, I’m forcing myself to eat snacks throughout the day, but it’s been rough!
@kadeephd I'm not taking anything; my OB said she wouldn't recommend taking anything for it and to just try to ride it out. I found the pregnancy pillow has helped; I'm still waking up but I can fall back asleep rather than lying awake for hours.
@mamabee1113 I know! Big sneezes that I sort of have to brace my abdomen for, or it pulls/pinches. The persistent congestion is fun too.
How interesting it is to see the variation in symptoms! I'm just waiting for my queasiness to get worse lol. Although, I had a huge craving for breaded chicken strips, which is the first time I've had a taste for anything in over a week!
I don't ever have sore boobs either as s symptom - so funny how it can vary so much person to person!! @kvh22
@kadeephd I've been taking 1/2 of a 1mg of melatonin. I usually take melatonin here and there when I'm not pregnant but I often cut them in half and find they work just fine. Often it's just enough to knock me out. Now I'm not sure if I doc would reco, but I've done with with the past 2 pregnancies (I think with #1 I literally gave up everything in the world haha).
@mamabee1113 oh my goodness I'm SO sorry that sounds miserable!! Zophran is my like secret drug that I like to keep on hand ALL the time (like if I ever get it for anything ever I keep it as a backup - GOLD).
@kadeephd try 1/2 a unisom. That’s what I do. Anything more and I need to sleep for like 2 days to feel normal.
@mamabee1113 with y’all of my pregnancies, I had sinus congestion and sneezing very early on. No one ever says it’s an official symptom but it has always been one for me. Worst thing is, after 3 kids, sneezing means peeing my pants. Pantiliners are my best friend.
@mamabee1113 it cracks me up how many of us are sneezing! Yeah I had a huge sneeze sneak up on me when I was standing at the sink washing my hands tonight. That one hurt! Glad you got some zofran - I hope that does the trick for you!
@bbrahmbhatt all I've wanted lately is breaded chicken strips. I've been cutting them up and putting them on top of a salad with honey mustard dressing - it seems to be the only way I can get my veggies in!
@goldpolkadot@bblair24 Thank GOD my OB sent in a prescription for Zofran for me yesterday. I typically keep it on hand too because I cannot function nauseous (give me anythingggggg but nausea), but the last few I had expired several months ago. I couldn't make it to the pharmacy in time yesterday, so I'm suffering through one more day before picking it up this afternoon.

I'm also breastfeeding... been breastfeeding for 4 years straight at this point
@goldpolkadot Does the melatonin help you stay asleep? I usually have no problem falling asleep... it's the staying asleep that I struggle with.
