  • @1sttimemomma98 lady you are strong! Gluten free is difficult, I have tried in the past to cut out dairy and gluten because of digestive issues and it is a challenge. Especially being pregnant with cravings!!
  • @1sttimemomma98 bummer at the celiacs :(  I don't think I could survive w/ no gluten.  I mean obviously if it made me sick that'd be a big deterrent, but dang... good luck!

  • Heartburnnnnnn, tums seems to help me. I have to take breaks in between doing things like I can brush my teeth & shower but then I need to sit down for a few mins to catch my breath. I am tired, I feel like I need a nap every 2 hours. The pressure when I walk/stand feels like he's trying to come out of me!!! I'm HOT and my family is cold, they better layer up!!! And lastly, I pee at LEAST 3-4 times a night, sometimes there's a lot, and sometimes it feels like a lot and that I can't hold i tony for it to be a few drops smh.

  • @potofgolden It must be the age! DS2 is 22 months and I have found cheerios (among other foods) in his diaper! 😆 Also, one of my friends has the schedule of bath, story, bed for her 2 year old and I just don't know how she does it! We can barely keep the 3-4 times a week bath schedule we currently have!
I think this might have been mentioned before but anyone struggling with SPD? I've got terrible pelvic pain (mostly at night but also when I get up in the morning). I couldn't find any good resources on yoga poses or excercises for this so I was hoping someone else might?
  • @potofgolden Hahahaha I love the chicken nugget! I'm just picturing the dogs  DD
  • @bserena @lurvleybunchococonuts it was definitely an adjustment! I’ve had no issues since then but damn these cravings came outta nowhere 😂
  • @1sttimemomma98 why did you have to mention donuts?!?! Now I want a maple bar!!!!😉 I feel you on cravings! I'm not gluten free but I'm far away from a lot of the yummy stuff I crave! My sister is quite healthy and she says that cravings get worse when our bodies need minerals/nutrients/something is missing? Which makes sense but I'd rather eat donuts and chocolate than vitamins😆 a different note, if you like to bake there are a lot if really good GF recipes out there. A lot more options in stores nowadays too. 3 of my sister's are GF so my mom has done lots of experimenting with recipes and I prefer some of her GF stuff over non-GF.
  • @mia80
With DD1 she got a bath every night, totally unnecessary, but it made for a smoother bed time routine for us - so we went with it.

DD2 got a bath like twice a week I guess? Maybe 3 times if she was lucky lol.

Babies don't do anything, and unless they get sweaty / gross from sleeping or being in warm clothes or blankets I don't know that they need baths super frequently (or you know like a poopsplosion or something)...

  • @bserena @lurvleybunchococonuts @babywiik it was definitely an adjustment! I’ve had no issues since then but damn these cravings came outta nowhere 😂 but yes luckily things are muuuuch better for gf options nowadays. I just made some yummy fudgy brownies last week to tide myself over
  • Cannot. Stop. Eating. 😳 I swear I am a bottomless pit all of a sudden!
  • @ecat504 LMAO okay, I'll agree with you there!  Feeding oreos to a 2.5 mo is def judgement (or at the very least questioning their sanity) worthy :D That HAD to be someone trolling to ask something that bizarre

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts I haven't heard back yet, but going to call tomorrow to check. I don't know!! She literally smears it over her body and head and I am like come on kid! And then she wants me to pick her up so I get dirty. Thankfully she doesn't mind jumping into showers with me.

  • @name1109 I’m glad you found some in network options! I definitely think weekly sessions can come in handy and it would be nice to know your options ahead of time.

my current therapist is pretty sure that I’ll deal with some version of PPA/PPD given my mental health issues without pregnancy. my mom on the other hand (my main support person) has explicitly told me that “PPD isn’t real, it’s just people looking for an excuse to complain”. which is disheartening , because I know that is obviously not true. wishing she was more supportive in case I do struggle, but glad that my current therapist is on board to discuss PPA/PPD!
  • @1sttimemomma98 😳😩 I'm so sorry your mom is less than supportive in that way. PPD/PPA is a beast and very real. I'm glad your therapist is on board and will hopefully be keeping a cloae eye on you, but you need to have supportive people at home/nearby too :(

  • @hedgepig thank you I’ll definitely check the podcast out!
  • I had PPA with DD. During the pregnancy I was off anxiety meds the whole time and actually doing great, which for me was odd. I have been on anxiety meds for a while and honestly been dealing with anxiety and depression since I was 12, but didn't get help until I was in my 20s. When DD was a couple week olds all my anxiety came back and PPA was pretty bad in concerns with SIDs that is where I put all my focus.... She rolled onto her side within the first two weeks and I literally held her the whole night and didn't sleep. I ended up going back onto meds shortly after that. A lot of women worry that it will affect their milk production but I didn't have that issue. I have been on the same thing since DD was a newborn. The minute you start not to feel okay, start to voice it for sure. Having a newborn is tough, you don't get much sleep, you have a new baby to worry about all the time, and you tend to neglect yourself and own needs. Like others said mental health is something we try to hide.. Hopefully we keep strong as a group after the babies because it really does help to be reassured yeah go get yourself help and take of yourself from people who are going through the same stages with a baby.
  • @bserena That is really great you are being proactive. Yeah I was surprised how well I did with my last pregnancy and anxiety since it is always something I have suffered from.
  • @bserena I’m right there with you. I can’t sit in the shadows and pretend they don’t exist.
  • I will be 27 weeks on Friday. Is anyone experiencing vaginal cramps? TMI I know it isn't sex related we haven't had sex this week. When I go for walks I get Braxton hicks and vaginal cramps. I don't walk miles or anything just around the the neighborhood.
My appointment is tomorrow. I'm hoping he will tell me everything is okay.
  • @bundleofjoy4iluvu I am sure it's normal, but so smart to ask! Pregnancy does weird things.
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts hahahaha!!!! I love the ode to your hips and pelvis 🤣🤣🤣 and your daughters! 🤣🤣
  • @babywiik they are a riot, especially together. Oh, and they get jealous of each other's toys :joy: (there is an 8 year age difference between them).  The toddler wants all of the 9yo's toys and the 9yo steals and plays with the toddler's toys *facepalm*   I can just envision the absolute chaos my life will be one the twins are here.  I'm gonna be doomed if all 4 girls ever gang up together :|

  • My feet and legs have gone from slightly swollen to full on bear paws in a few short weeks. I just ordered some shoes a full size up because trying on my normal size was just embarrassing. Also I got a pain in my wrist that radiated up my arm over several hours last night. I know carpal tunnel is normal but i was freaking myself out by googling blood clots. Anyone else feel like they read about possible symptoms on The Bump or another pregnancy site and the symptoms decide to show up the next day? 🙄
  • @surlyjaneausten Ugh! Sounds awful! I ordered 3 pairs of Comrad compression socks which feel really good and are kind of cute, too - in order to combat any foot/ankle edema. I'm definitely a victim of reading a symptom and then developing it the next day. I suggest icy-hot for your arm discomfort (I get nerve pain sporadically down my arm due to a neck injury and find it to be helpful). Hope you feel better!
  • @laurenmicheley I will look into those socks and try the icy hot! Thank you!
  • I have started having full on hot flashes. I was finishing a virtual meeting today (I was leading of course) and had to actually fan myself.
