Feel free to share any pics of your dress/decorations if you want! If you haven't had a wedding, what was the most memorable one you've been to?  My husbands uncle lives in Denmark and they have a saying there that when a man is dating he needs to have good socks, so when they get married they cut the toes off his socks at the wedding because his socks don't need to be good anymore.  I have this hilarious photo of a bunch of guys holding him up with his shoes off and his uncle cutting the toes of his socks off.
A recent favorite wedding:  friends of mine had to cancel their wedding in April, but then one morning in May I got a text from her that they had rescheduled it to be over zoom that evening and did we want to join online with only a few hours notice.

Our destination wedding was 5/11/19 and had our entire family/friends come stay out at a semi secluded lodge in Colorado for a long weekend. The day everyone arrived there was a huge snow storm 🙈 Everything cleared up for the big day, but as we were saying our vows just the tiniest dust of snow came down ❤️ It was magical.

@oaktree6 we just celebrated our 10th anniversary, too! It was a relaxing and low key day, tons of family and friends came from far away (so much more than we expected!). We made a weekend of it and it was really special.
  • @oaktree6 So glad to hear about the NIPT results!!!  <3 And yay for a baby boy!

Upcoming appointments: Aug 12 OB appt for bloodwork.

How are you feeling?: pretty good. A little tired still, but nausea is wayyyyyy down.

Rants/Raves:I’ve been eating a bowl of Quaker Oat Squares cereal at night shortly before bed, and that had helped keep me full all night so I don’t wake up hungry in the middle of the night!

Questions: Did anyone else just do the NT scan? Mine was 2 weeks ago and the scan came back normal but I haven’t heard on the bloodwork part. I guess I should call.

We got married in October in New England and the foliage was perfect. We also had one of our favorite bands play and a DJ, and had late night appetizers that were a big hit after an open bar all night. People were so thrilled to have sliders and quesadillas passed out at 11:30.

    @krisspy22
I did just the NT scan, everything came back normal as well. Apparently my baby is bigger than they’ve estimated & so they didn’t run the blood work on the chance it would come back “abnormal”. No one told me either I’ve just been blowing them up for the last 2 weeks 🙃 definitely feel cheated for my 1st trimester.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a pomegranate
How are you feeling?:  no complaints. Feeling pretty happy these days!
Rants/Raves:  Feeling/seeing my belly grow (which is fun!) but had a freak out the other day where after my run I saw stretch marks. Is this a thing? After you run can you get some stretch marks that then disappear later that day? That's what happened to mine, luckily. So it convinced me to get a belly support band this early. I did a bunch of investigating and landed on the Bao Bei probump, in case it helps anyone else: https://www.baobeimaternity.com/collections/support-bands/products/pregnancy-belly-support-band-2 Will report back on whether it's effective.
Questions:  See above. Really curious if you can actually get stretch marks from running or being active? Something in my researching was confirming this, but I didn't find much. Also didn't look long; just went straight to getting a band in the hopes it would help hold everything in place.
GTKY:   I LOVED my wedding band. I found a local band who played classic rock tunes at weddings (but none of the corny stuff). They were fantastic, but what really made the night was when my aunt and uncles (who formed a band together in their youth) took over the stage for a reunion (Mamma Mia style) and played me Smoke on the Water. And THEN, two of our groomsmen went up and played I Want to Hold Your Hand. Best. Night. Ever.

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow for regular OB check, then in 2 weeks for my MFM and to start progesterone injections
How are you feeling?: still get waves of exhaustion and nausea, but only if I eat too much, or haven’t eaten recently enough, so totally my own fault.
Rants/Raves: I should be hearing back about my NIPT any day now, I’m anxious to just know if everything is fine, and not deal with waiting anymore. Also I’m obviously excited to also find out what we’re having.
Questions: More like a request...I want to see more of your cute bumps on HDBD!

We’re actually celebrating our 11 year next week! Our wedding was intimate and wonderful, then our reception was outdoors on a perfect summer night with dancing, great food, and so many people we loved, it was perfect.

@krisspy22 those late night appetizers are my kind of thing 🤤
@oaktree6 congrats on 10 years and your NIPT results!
@marynog congrats on 10 years to you too! Getting married in 2010 it will always be so easily to remember the years you’ve been married.
@briemo I remember have pelvic floor pressure earlier with my first pregnancy, everything is growing and changing and there’s definitely kore pressure there than there ever has been. I think it’s pretty normal, but obviously if it gets too uncomfortable I’d talk to your OB. Also, your big day in Colorado sounded magical.
@whitealbum29 yay for coming up with wedding plans that work best for you! I can’t wait to hear about it, and see pictures in October. ❤️

whitealbum29 Have fun on your vacation! And good thought, planning a low-stress (I hope!) wedding. Also, since you and HappyFeet34 mentioned that the baby can hear: I'm thrilled about this. I've decided I'm going to try singing a song or two regularly to test out this theory that is becomes baby's "comfort" song after birth. Wonder if there are any STMs who this worked for?
hp242 laughing at that Danish tradition. How clever.
jumpy57 I hear ya on that ice cream. That's the kind that I almost always have in the house. Wonder if you have a favorite brand? Choco peanut butter is so hit and miss. Mine right now is Tillamook, but I think it's only a west coast thing.
oaktree6 so glad your NIPT had good results! And congrats on a boy! Wow, and also congrats on your 10 year anniversary! We have our 10 year in Nov.

@oaktree6 I’m so glad your results came back low risk!! Congrats on a boy too!

@lavenderclouds I’ve been a lot more active this pregnancy than previous ones and I’m noticing stretch marks randomly on my stomach as well. I only look when I’m showering right after I work out, I’ll have to start checking later in the day to see if they’re gone. It’s stressing me out a little too, my previous pregnancies I didn’t have any stretch marks until after and they faded to pretty much invisible as I lost the weight.

My favorite thing about our wedding was the limo bus between the ceremony and reception for the wedding party. We got one you can stand up in so we could talk to and see everyone easily, it was so much fun. We technically had our first dance on it! Our reception was at the science museum of MN and they had a big dinosaur exhibit going on at the time. We got a bunch of fun pictures with the dinosaur skeletons before the reception started!
  • @lavenderclouds ugh it's so hard for me to find ice cream because I can't eat soy (which is in just about everything) DH recently found Prairie Farms brand and it's awesome!!! He loves their pineapple upsidedown cake ice cream. Might just be a Midwest brand though
  • @lavenderclouds we didn’t have a song. But when I was pregnant with my first she was so active it was painful, and it always happened as I was trying to go to sleep. Every time my husband would talk to her she would settle down and I could rest. When she was born anytime she would get really upset my husbands voice would still instantly soothe her, I thought that was pretty special.

@oaktree6 we celebrate our 10 year in October. I was hoping we would be able to get away for it, but Covid. :(
