Re: July Randoms

  • @morethanamama I think that’s an awesome idea. I’ve sorted out by size, and put it in a storage container. I plan to do that as we acquire more stuff. I too am trying to do this as minimally as possible, so I am already feeling overwhelmed with how much we have, how much we’re going to get, and how much we’ll need. We too live in a small house.

  • @morethanamama I need someone to go through all the hand me downs I have sitting in bags and boxes in the nursery.
  • Hand-me-downs are exhausting to sort through! I got all the nieces and nephews things because B/SIL wanted to throw them away. Everything was in trash bags an not arranged by size at all and it took a few days to get it sorted and put into bins. Luckily I have a fairly large house and we decided we'd keep all the boy things in the attic incase we ever have a boy in the future. I'm hoping people don't buy us a lot of clothing, we don't really need anything at this rate.
  • @morethanamama I haven't made lists but oh my goodness do I need to. I gave away most of ds's clothes through 6-9. I bought a big bag second hand but it's mostly newborn and 0-3 so I still have a couple sizes to fill in. 😬

Fireworks going off last night freaked out my dog and cats, AND woke up DS at least twice. And tonight is the big show. We're about to blocks from where they go off. I love fireworks, but not quite so much since I got a dog and had a baby. They're technically banned in city limits other than the sanctioned show, but they're always going off.

    Happy birthday July ladies!!

Glad your Sono went well @kalesix3

Oh that has to be so scary @profmcgonagall but glad it was dehydration and not preterm labor, taking it easy sounds like a good plan
  • I have so much catching up to do ladies! I’m sorry I totally ghosted a while back. Remote teaching with the kids at home got the better of me towards the end of the school year and then DD really needed me to just step away from all phones/laptops etc after that. We’ve gotten back into the swing of our new normal and the school year is over so I’m hoping to be able to reconnect with you now.
  • @babycakesday Take my word for it....Tums have NOTHING on Gaviscon! Get some in your life now. Saved my life first pregnancy.
  • @JLaVO888 glad you’re back! This school year was craaaaazy so I totally get it!
  • Thanks girls! Missed ya.

@mamahosch Crazy is an understatement. So so so elated I’m not teaching next year so I can stay home with my three!
  • @JLaVO888 I’m worried about starting this school year pregnant. We have yet to hear from our district what the official plan is... 😬
  • I have my glucose test at 8:30, and they are doing a two hour one to avoid sending me back after the 1 hour. I passed the one hour last time but I guess this is what my practice started doing for "convenience". I honestly don't know how I'll make it without food until 11am😳😳
  • @JLaVO888 I’ll have to see if I can find some! Welcome back!

@morethanamama Eek that’s so long without food. My practice sent me home with the drink so I wouldn’t have to wait past 8:30am to eat.
  • When I first got pregnant, my coworker warned me about "lightning crotch". Out of all the pregnant women I've talked to in the past, no one had ever mentioned it, so I figured she was just an anomaly. Yet, here I am. Started getting it about 4 days ago and man, it's enough to lift me out of my chair sometimes. And I've only gained about 12lbs so far! I guess those 12lbs are sitting directly on a nerve bundle on my lady parts or something. By the end of the day, I have to put an ice pack between my legs to get some relief.
    Me: 37 / DH: 41
Due with baby #2: Feb 2022

  • @babyodo, lightning crotch is rough. I’ve had it once or twice this pregnancy and I hate that it comes out of nowhere
    Me: 27 DH: 27
    Married 6/15/13
    BFP #1 5/8/16, EDD 12/31/16- DD born 9/10/16 at 24 weeks
    ~In our hearts forever~
    BFP #2 10/14/17, EDD 7/1/18

  • @babyodo it is rough. It hasn't showed up for me yet but only a matter of time I'm afraid...@babycakesday that is amazing! I wish I could have done that! And Quest is PACKED!
  • @babyodo I’ve had it a couple times too!
  • @morethanamama That’s awful. My practice does all blood testing onsite so I think that’s probably why. Hope that you got to something eat!
  • @morethanamama oh no! That sounds absolutely terrible, I'm sorry! Bring some protein power bar or something with you so you can get something in your stomach asap after the test! I hope it goes better than you anticipate!
I wish mine was in the morning but it's not till 4 pm and they want me to drink my drink at home 20 to 40 minutes before I come into the center, and it's a 20 minute drive and I'm irrationally stressing over accidentally messing up the timing and ruining my result. Also I'm supposed to drink the drink and then take a walk but I can't have water afterwards so I just know my veins are going to be a total mess to find. I'm so stressed over such a simple test 😭
  • @babyodo lightning crotch is so real and so horrible! Haven’t had it yet this time but with my last two when it did show up it stuck around for the remainder of the pregnancy. 😩
  • How many of you read the other weeks’ check-ins threads? I just posted a question in there as part of my weekly check-in, but after thinking about it more, wondered if I should post it here (instead? also?) as week 1 tends to be a little light.
  • Sometimes I check other weeks sometimes I don’t. Go ahead and post it here. No harm since it’s the randoms.
  • I'll admit I'm lazy on the weekly check-ins🙈🙈

@kalesix3 @babycakesday thanks! I survived the second draw. For some reason they did draw#1,then immediately drink the drink, wait an hour, draw#2, wait an hour, draw #3. So weird. The drink is just flat mountain dew but three times as sugary 🤢 I'll be out of here in 40 and I have my protein bar ready!

@babyodo lighteninf crotch sucks! I didn't have it first time around but started having weird lower abdomen pain and that what it ended up being labeled even though it was

@morethanamama glad you did ok with it!
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason I usually read them but only reply to my own week. I'm in week 3 though which seems to be over half of our group practically. Feel free to post here if you want more feedback!

Anyone else having baby hiccups yet? I remember it being super annoying when I was pregnant with DD but they just started and it's so fun to feel for now! This baby seems to be laying in exactly the same way my daughter was, so maybe I feel them a lot because the head is on my bladder.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I just started feeling hiccups the other day. It's so cute!
  • I hate when they get hiccups but haven’t felt any this time yet.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 Yes to the hiccups. Also I don’t remember feeling DD doing full turns but with this baby I can feel her rotate herself in there. Sometimes it’s cool and sometimes it’s super uncomfortable.
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason did you go to the zoo this weekend?  How was it?

I forgot how much of an addiction the bump can be! After not being on for so long I’m stuck here on it like crazy today! DD has already pointed out I’ve been on my phone today. I’m going to have to have the self control to just check in during naps. She’s been so in need of my full undivided attention the last few months. And I always feel guilty when I don’t give the kids my undivided attention because I can’t even handle how fast they are growing. But damn I love my bump time. It took some major will power to put it away for as long as I did.
  • @mamahosch I’m nervous about school also. I work evening shifts and DH makes his own hours so I *could* homeschool DD1 if necessary, but it was so rough this spring I can’t imagine adding in a newborn as well.

That being said, I’m terrified to send her when cases are bad here, we have a medically fragile 3 year old, and then when the baby gets here too. Plus I know I’ll need some help from my mom, but don’t want her or my dad to get sick from us.

I just saw my abdomen move with one of her kicks!!! She always stops the second my boyfriend looks or tries to feel. The second he turned away just now she kicked again. 😂
  • @animalandplantrescuer SAMES! I saw the external movement for the first time a couple days ago, but whenever I try to get someone else to see the little bugger stops.
  • jgrodojgrodo member
@carrotsandpeas3 what do hiccups feel like? I felt so little last pregnancy feeling movement this time is so different

External movements! Wow I didn't have those at all last time either
  • Thanks all! I feel like I got my question answered so I won’t rehash it here at this point in time.

I took a video over the weekend of my belly moving and am pretty sure I caught a somersault. 😂

@jgrodo Hiccups feel almost exactly like they feel when you have them. Little rhythmic “hic”s just in your belly instead of your chest, and quicker. My first hiccuped AT LEAST once a day in his last month on the inside. @carrotsandpeas3 I haven’t experienced it with baby brother yet! Used to crack me up.

@anitamargarita_82 Yes we did! I sent you a PM. It was fine—but at one point I said to my husband “I’m glad our son isn’t used to a regular zoo experience” because it was really different. There were a few fun points, like our toddler really enjoyed the gorillas and continued to say “goo-gah” for the rest of the morning. 😂 Everyone was pretty good with spacing and super compliant with masks so that was comforting. But overall... we probably won’t go back for awhile. We were going to turn our general admission ticket into a membership and didn’t do that while we were there. We have 30 days from our visit to do it, but we’re still debating.
  • The pumpkin swaddle is 😍😍😍

@jgrodo  I thought hiccups felt like just a light rhythmic movement.  I had them with my first pregnancy but not this one.

Hiccups are cute at first, but I remember getting tired of them with DS because he would have them multiple times a day every day.  After he was born, he continued to get hiccups daily for the first few months then they completely stopped.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Not going to lie, I’m more than a little interested! 🤣
  • @JLaVO888 I don't have that app, but doing DR work and strengthenimg my pelvic floor pre and throughout last pregnancy helped me more than I even realized. I have zero leaks and last time I bounced back from the birth so quickly, my OB mentioned my pelvic floor condition three times during my PP check-up. My vote is get it!🙈

Re belly moving with movement, sometimes I wonder how I'm not having twins, honestly it's
like an octopus flailing around from the visible movement. My babies seem to be camera shy with videos but break out all the calisthenics if my partner touches my belly so they can kick wherever his hand is 😂
I hope you guys babies come out of hiding soon so your partners can feel all those kicks!
  • @aefsparrow and @kalesix3 I was actually shocked to feel it, and see it so soon because I have an anterior placenta.
