Re: July Randoms

  • We've been watching Babies since we haven't been able to do any of our parenting classes. MH is more into than I thought he'd be. He was really intrigued by them talking about all of the instincts that babies are born with, the importance of tummy time, how long it takes babies to master crawling and then walking, etc. I think it's helping to establish his expectations for our baby's eventual growth & development.

I'll Be Gone In The Dark isn't too graphic. It's done really tastefully. I think it's so great that they not only have interviews with victims and their families, but also helped explain where Michelle was coming from with her fascination with this case. She really dug deep into each victim's case. And hearing Patton talk about their relationship is really sweet and a nice backstory.

  • @JLaVO888 I thought with Safeway and Albertsons you may live in my area, but... I guess not. 😂
  • @themoonandme wtf did I just read.
  • @mckjacks right? Never voted in his life. Thinks Planned Parenthood was planted by white supremacists. Liked Trump because of the Trump hotels and saxophones in the lobby? I cannoooooottttt.
  • @themoonandme Haha, wow that was some of the craziest stuff I’ve ever read. Thank you for the laugh, I really needed it 😂.
  • @themoonandme I wonder the same thing. And it’s depressing how many people will vote for him. I’m soooooo thankful he’s already missed some of the filing deadlines to be on the ballot.

  • Any else dealing with being irritable this pregnancy? I feel like I’ve been in a bad mood or funk for most of this pregnancy. (Much worse than the others). I’ve been trying to take a good walk every morning for the last few weeks and it’s seemed to help some but today I’ve been really moody again.
  • @JLaVO888 is it moody like progesterone intolerance?
I don't get pregnancy rages or anything like that but I have been struggling with emotional swings since I stopped taking such a large dose of Vitamin D3.. it's always been a mood stabilizer for me and I'm feeling the after effects of weaning off it.  I hope it gets better for you, I've started to feel more like myself recently.
  • @kalesix3 It’s most likely becuase I weaned off my Zoloft at the beginning  of second tri actually. I don’t feel my extreme PPD symptoms (rage usually for me) but it’s earlier than I went off of it after my first pregnancy/during my second pregnancy. It’s not anything severe enough that I’m really worried about I’m just kind of tired of being in a less than great mood.

I do know last pregnancy the last few weeks before I delivered were really hard and dr and I had kept an eye on it and I felt a huge relief after I delivered and was able to get back on it. I just hope it doesn’t start to pick up earlier this time. Third tri is when Zoloft is the riskiest so I never take it that trimester.
  • @JLaVO888 I have randomly. Or I cannot stand being touched some days even with DD demands to be right next to me and I know I’m being irritable over something so silly. I just assume it’s pregnancy related, but I have been lowering my dosage of Zoloft as I’m getting closer to my third trimester.
  • @BabyCakes3 ugh the touching thing this time is horrible for me! Have you been dizzy at all as you have lowered your dosage? I felt with that for weeks as I weaned off mine. Didn’t realize it was Zoloft related until an IRL friend mentioned she was experiencing it as she weaned off hers and googles that it was a side effect.
  • I've been super irritable but most of that is due to being a full-time mom and working full-time from home at the same time. I'm a major introvert and mostly worked from home pre-COVID (but with DD in daycare) so I got some alone time then, and now I'm almost never by myself plus trying to juggle the two jobs at once leaves me super depleted.

@MJDsquared oh god bless you! I just finished that same living hell. Working full time from home with two kids home 24-7. It almost took me to my grave. So glad to be done with work!

@mamahosch you saw it live??? How did you get tickets?? We've been wanting to see it for so long. After watching it on Disney+ I said to mh maybe one day when Broadway opens again and ticket prices come down we can have a date night and see it in person 😊
  • jgrodojgrodo member
@wineren that is sounding very soon. I've been having meltdowns that 14 weeks is soon, haha

    @themoonandme how is a thing?!?!
  • @jgrodo it came to our civic center and they had a Hamilton lottery for $10 tickets.... we won!! It was the best!
  • @JLaVO888 love it!! Toyotas are what our entire family drives. I have a 2015 RAV4!
  • @mamahosch us too! We were not sure if we would be able to find a three row Toyota in our price range but we did it! Will probably trade it in for something a bit newer in a few years when I go back to work but while we are on one income it’s perfect! I’m excited we found it.
  • Just thought I’d post Incase anyone is looking.  Kindred Bravely has their hands free pumping bras in stock and now in busty sizes for ladies who need a bigger cup but not a bigger band.  I just ordered a couple.  And I randomly found a coupon code for 20% off.. cause20.  I have several of their nursing bras already that are amazing!

  • @JLaVO888 Ack I’m jealous! I am fully planning on upgrading to a Highlander when we (in a couple years) need a third car seat. Like @mamahosch I also currently drive a RAV4. And my husband drives a Tundra!

@anitamargarita_82 Love Kindred Bravely. 🙌🏻 I’ve decided this time I’m going to wait until my milk comes in before ordering any new pumping/nursing bras. I still have all my others because I had only been done pumping/nursing for about a month and a half before we got pregnant again.

    @mckjacks Way to go!!! 🥳

You guys I went and cooked dinner and feel like I missed SO much action on this board. 😂
  • @mckjacks we HAD to get something else. His Tundra (also @baseballismyfavoriteseason) is wide enough in the back for three car seats but I had a Toyota Matrix and as much as I loved it and it’s gas mileage, it was wayyy to small. It hardly fit the two car seats we already have.

This is actually my first dealership purchased car ever. We’ve always bought older used from friends or family so it was a big and exciting spend for us! We were able to get 2.9% interest rate and put a good down payment so I’m so pleased with it! It’s Mileage is a tad high but like I said I don’t plan on having it too long plus it’s a Toyota!
  • Hiiii I've been busy today! I got SO MUCH DONE! Not as much actual work as I wanted but lots of admin stuff, bills, shit that needed to be addressed. Ended the night with a socially distanced backyard dinner at our friends' house where my toddler ATE RAW VEGGIES FOR THE FIRST TIME and without being prompted?? I'm thinking aliens kidnapped him and replaced him? LOL!

Anyways so much to comment on! @wineren congrats on the house and yay for cleaners! @JLaVO888 new cars are so exciting! @babyodo I'm intrigued by that show on HBO. Will add it to the list. @themoonandme uuuugh I just CANNOT with the Kanye BS. Sorry if I'm missing tagging. Re: being irritable, it's more of a come and go thing but I have been more irritable in the past few weeks compared to the beginning of the pregnancy.

We got fans installed in the bedrooms today as well as recessed lighting in one of the rooms and I'm so excited! Now only our bedroom needs a lighting update.
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason I've been feeling all sorts of weird movements with this one. It's so fun to see how different the pregnancies have been!
  • @morethanamama I love having a fan in our bedroom! We did not have them in our house when I was growing up, but without AC the fan is life-changing!

@JLaVO888 I’m so glad to know the Tundra can fit 3! We got it because we could fit 2 fully grown adults plus the car seat in the back seat, so I was hopeful it would work!!
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason that's amazing!!! I can't tell feet or hands apart very well yet but I did feel a full on summersault earlier today, it was wild!
@anitamargarita_82 that's awesome! I hope they get busty sizes in on some of the other kinds too. The pumping+ bras look really thick and bulky so I'm going to try to hold out for just the regular nursing bras to get busty sizing in.

@morethanamama omg if we didn’t have a fan on our bedroom ceiling I would cry - our a/c keeps turning up to 74 at night (we have a Nest thermostat) so if it wasn’t for our fan I’d be dying at night during this heat wave while pregnant! I can’t get it to stay at 72 degrees before bed 🙄

@anitamargarita_82 thanks for the heads up! I’m definitely going to wait to buy my hands free pumping bra for work though. I’ve already bought two nursing bras I’m using for maternity bras and I’m not sure I’ll even stay this size after baby is born! I went up a band and a cup size already.

@baseballismyfavoriteseason I love my RAV4 😍 it was my high school dream car (idk why 😂) so when I got my big girl teaching job I bought myself one right off the lot!

I had TERRIBLE heartburn at 3 AM today... I’ve never had it before in my life and I couldn’t find the TUMS 😭 It makes sense that I had it after a couple bouts of acid reflux yesterday. I guess no more food with onions for supper for a while...
  • I had my 26 week appt and am measuring 33 weeks 😬😬. That earned me a growth scan in 2 weeks and some extra worry in my life.

Also ordered my breast pump today. Hoping it gets here soon since I’m less than a month away from when DS was born.

@m@mamahosch, heartburn is the worst! I hope you found your tums

  • @profmcgonagall hoping your growth scan is all good news! I haven’t made it out of bed to fully search for them yet. I’m guessing I’ll be reorganizing our entire bathroom closet and drawers while on the search 😂
  • @JLaVO888 we could use something else because pre-COVID we travelled quite a bit and have two dogs so our current car situation (Prius and Frontier) won’t fit 2 babies + 2 dogs, but we’ll just have to figure out the dog situation when it comes time to do traveling.
  • This is just a tiny PSA for anyone who hasn't seen but checks the Randoms - there is a FB Vote thread where you comment if you want to join a FB group. People like your comment if they know who you are etc and 10 likes will be an invitation once it's created (fairly soon).

I think there's more info both on the Vote in thread, the FB poll thread, and the thread about whether we should start one.

  • @wineren Congrats on the move! I'm right there with you, packing now to move next week. Well, watching hubby pack. I'm pretty much done after one box :D
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason it may depend on what car seats you have and it’s a tight fit in the Tundra so don’t quote me on it but it’s doable.

@mamahosch Gaviscon liquid is a million times better than TUMs. Take my heartburn riddled ass’s word for it.

@mckjacks taking the dog in the new one with all the luggage is going to be a challenge still even though it’s three rows. I’m a good puzzler so we will figure it out but packing will have to be very intentional when the whole fam is on the road. We always bring the dog kennel on long trips and it’s large since we have a boxer. Thankfully the babes don’t need leg room at this age so we can put a lot of things on the floor board under/behind them.

@amapa20 Oh goodness, it took so much longer than it should have because I'd do one box and have to sit down for like 15 minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️ I hired movers and had to get a second set because I wasn't done. And then hired cleaners who are at the apartment right now - while I'm laying on the couch trying to pick something to watch 😆🤦🏻‍♀️

ETA: good luck on your move! It's one of my least favorite things. I'm only like 40% done because there's still unpacking and organizing.
  • @wineren Smart lady! That sounds like the way to do it. 😁
