@krystrist2014 that is so adorable and such a wonderful way to include your DD. I’ll have to remember this idea if I ever find my way back on a bump board after this one.
I still haven't done a Facebook post but I texted all my aunts and uncles a picture of an ultrasound that said, "We left it up to biology for #3 and got a stowaway! ________ Twins coming Oct/Nov 2020.". I'll probably do something similar for Facebook.
I have no recollection of how we announced with my son. I was 22, there was a lot going on, so I'm pretty sure that there was a just a Facebook post?
With my daughter, we waited until the 20-week ultrasound and posted that in a "Who's that Pokemon?" frame.
This time I ended up posting a video on FB, because my daughter was running around with an ultrasound photo and I got a sweet photo of her talking about "a picture of the baby in Mommy's belly."
We called close friends and family to announce over the last week and I told work on Friday. Hit the second trimester yesterday and announced on Facebook today!! It's starting to feel real!!!
We told our siblings and parents right away. I was sick and didn't want them to find out from anyone else/needed support from the women in my family who have had babies. My 5 year old niece guessed I was pregnant because she overheard her mom talking to me on the phone about being morning sick and she remembered what that meant from when my sister was expecting a year ago😅 I'm glad i wasn't trying to keep it a secret though I hadn't planned to tell all the kids in my family quite so soon. (I have a lot of nieces and nephews)
We had our A/S today! We got the gender in an envelope, AS DISCUSSED WITH DH!!!! He is being a twatwaffle. He says he thought we were going to find out at the US like we did with DD. I don’t know how many times we have had the discussion, that we were going to find out through a gender reveal with everyone else this time. He has never mentioned that he had an issue with it. Now he claims he never heard this come up. 🙄 He left on errand in my car and the envelope is in the glovebox. He better not touch it! 🤪
Plan A was to buy a smoke bomb and put in a BBQ pit painted to look like a pot of gold because this is baby after the rainbow baby. There was a local cookoff scheduled for next weekend and we were going to invite friends and family as well as our BBQ competition family would be there as well... and we wouldn’t have to feed everyone and decorate. Keeping it simple and cheap. Well thanks to Corona, it was just cancelled yesterday.
Plan B is to use cameo app and get one of our favorite artists to announce it by a song. And we will have someone video us watching it for the reaction. And then share one or both videos with everyone to share the news.... but we are having issues with song selection... posting in the lullaby song thread.
@potofgolden I swear I email, text, semaphore, tell DH things and he will say I think you thought you told me. Then ofcourse I can never find any supporting evidence to back myself up.
@name1109 same 😭 And now I need ladybug 🐞 everything! She will forever be my ladybug. I’ve already pinned stuff for her first birthday... and she doesn’t even have an official name yet.
@potofgolden you could name her Mari😉 in norwegian, ladybug is marihøne which translates to Mary hen😁 Edit: I don't know if Mari is a common name, or if people would pronounce it the same as Mary. My niece has the name and we say it with a soft a rather than the hard a in Mary
@babywiik That's a sweet name/meaning! I have an Italian friend named Mariangela who goes by Mari, and I think that the pronunciation is hard for some people, but most get it!

@babywiik I know a few Maris, it is popular in South Texas and they all pronounce it Maudie.. roll the R. I think it’s cute and have been trying to get DH on board with another variation... Maren... Karen with an M.. but shit I feel bad for all the Karen’s getting the bad wrap right now. 😂
@babywiik@potofgolden I really like the name Maren. I never think of Karen when I hear it, but I do think of Maren Morris who is an amazing singer (and a new mom, too)!
