July is going to go by so fast for us. Our DD is turning four by the end of it. I’m super disappointed we couldn’t take her to Disney World like we had planned.
Can't believe how quickly time is going by! All the clients that went MIA and owed me an email response for over a week came back TODAY right as I work or the last day this week before two days off, so much for a light day ahead...UGH!
Yay for July, it’s my bday month like so many of you! I can’t believe I will be 39 on the 17th!!! It’s crazy to think how soon these babies will be here! I guess I should start planning which birth class I’m going to take. I’d really prefer to go in person because it will help keep me on track with reading activities and stuff, but obviously that’s not an option.
I’m starting to think my boy might end up being a September baby... with big brother I KNEW he was going to come early, and he arrived at 37w2d (would have been 37w1d if I hadn’t gotten that epidural!!) and with this one having a due date of the 7th, it wouldn’t surprise me if he came in September instead. Which I think no one would mind... I become pretty unpleasant to be around. 😂
I signed up for a virtual Lamaze class, because really all I need is a refresher on labor/pain-coping techniques... if this was my first it would be MAJORLY stressing me out to not have an in-person class. It was super helpful for my husband too, who really had no prior experience with babies.
I have been pretty strict about “lockdown” and mask-wearing and keeping our family safe during Covid, but confession time: we are going to the zoo tomorrow and I CANNOT WAIT!!! They open today for the first time since everything shut down. The indoor areas are all closed, they’re doing timed entry through one entrance only, paths will be one way, masks are required, so it will be about as safe as they can make it. And bonus: it’s not supposed to be a super nice day tomorrow, so I’m hoping the weather will keep people away too. We have been SO cooped up and I am looking forward to taking a nice walk, giving my toddler a chance to see the animals. We were planning on getting a zoo membership this spring so I’ve basically been waiting for this outing since March. I. CAN’T. WAIT! This is probably the most exciting thing that’s happened in our lives since we got back from our cruise in February. 😂
@baseballismyfavoriteseason since I know what zoo you’re going to I thought I’d share this with you. This was posted in my local mommy group a day ago.
@baseballismyfavoriteseason This LO is 100% going to be a September baby (or even August although that is less likely). My OB said I had a slim chance of making it to 38 weeks and the high risk doctor said 37 was most likely but even as early as 34 depending on how everything goes. I'm due 10/05 so mid-September at the latest.
Will be interesting to see how many actual October babies we end up with as so many of us seem to be high risk/history of early delivery! Meanwhile I totally expect to be still twiddling my thumbs on my due date, not that I'm complaining. And who knows, this pregnancy could be totally different than my previous.
Add me to the “totally not going to be October baby” list. 37/38 weeks is the longest I’ll be allowed to go with my twins, after that point the risk of stillbirth and placenta failure increases
@anitamargarita_82 I just double-checked and I have tickets with barcodes—I wonder why they’re looking them up manually?? If nothing else we’ll just go, turn our day passes into memberships, and try again another day.
@carrotsandpeas3 right? I'm so interested to see what happens with baby birthdays in our group too! I honestly go back and forth on what I think will happen due date wise. Early in my pregnancy I found the Mittendorf-Williams rule and according to the rule after taking into consideration my loss during labor they predict baby will be born in September too, I wish I had an intuition either way but I'm just not sure! @baseballismyfavoriteseason I want to go to the zoo so bad but I'm afraid about all the other people who have the same idea!
Also won’t be an October baby. Csection tentatively planned for 9/30 at 39 weeks but had to have Patrick at 38.
@baseballismyfavoriteseason maybe try entering towards the end of your time slot. We had an 8am-9am reservation for our zoo and got there about 8:45 with no line to check in.
@westslopemama I was worried about that too since I’m a FTM. Check to see if the hospital you’re delivering at is offering classes again. Ours starts offering them again in July so I signed us up for a two-day class, it’s the last Saturday in August and second Saturday in September. I’m hoping since it’s through the hospital they’ll keep the class size small and enforce social distancing/masks.
Interesting that so many think you'll be early! I've been thinking I'll be late. EDD is 10/30, so I'm guessing the first week of November. I'd never heard of the Mittendorf-Williams rule, so googled it and that puts me at 11/3.
@peanutorcookie I'm right there with you. Currently due 10/21, went past due with DD, and current estimate by Mittendorf Williams is 10/27. I just want to be home by Halloween to dress my toddler up at least! 😝🎃
I thought I would be late with DS, but he came 3 weeks early! I have no idea on this little one! The Mittendorf Williams rule placed me delivering 10/22 a day before my EDD so we will see.
@ccstlln1 I actually just called the local hypnobabies instructor to see if she is offering in person classes or maybe zoom classes. I think they typically keep the class size to 5 couples anyway so it might work out. I know I can survive without a class since this isn’t my first time, but I really want to try a new technique for dealing with labor since last time I felt so out of control! I’m normally such a calm person, but I guess childbirth makes you do some unexpected things!
Also, just now at 23w5d I’m finally feeling this little one kick!! I’ve been sad that I’ve only felt small movements, but finally some real kicks!!!
So 1 - I need that pumpkin swaddle too oh my goodness. 2- the absolute latest I'd be is 09/28 @ 39 weeks for RCS. I really wanted 10/01 so I had one baby born the "right" month (DS was due 09/13 and came 08/27). But like I said, it's most likely the week of 09/14 or earlier.
My birthday is 09/29 so (if after is not an option) I would rather be earlier and not in the hospital on my birthday. 🤷🏻♀️ But of course, I'm going to do whatever is the safest for LO.
So crazy! My August BMB had July and August babies only, and I think only 3 or 4 July babies out of the 30ish of us? Guess we were a lucky group or just had a lot of mid to late month due dates.
The earliest babies on my August BMB were twins born in June. DS ended up being a July baby, but he was born only a couple days before my due date. There ended up being a lot of July babies. The board really slowed down by August because so many people had delivered in July.
I have no idea, if she's early like my DS then we might be closer to very beginning of October. Dates I'd love are 10/2 (my son is 7/2), 9/28(my grandma's birthday) or her due date of 10/6!
I don’t like that Mittendorf predictor... says baby will come Oct 8, one day after my due date. 😑 We’ll see... my husband keeps saying “10/10 would be a cool birthday!” And I give him that look and he says “but 10/01 would be way better.” Yeah. 😑
DD was a due date baby! I just did that Predictor it gave me 10/23 which is 5 days after my due date. 🤔 At least it won’t be the end of July this time.
@wineren I was born at 9 PM the day before my mom’s birthday. We were that close to having the same birthday. And I came quickly. I was 2 hours from start to finish. Also had the cord around my neck, so if I hadn’t been a quick birth, I probably would have been c-section.
I also feel mine might be early, but I’m due at the end of October, so most likely still an October baby. At my first appointment the doctor said they wouldn’t advise me going past 39 weeks, and I’m thinking they might be even more insistent with my raised hormone levels.
Also just putting this out there. For some reason many many years ago, at least 10, on October 19th, I had this feeling that I would have a baby on that day. I have remembered this date to this day. Thirty nine weeks for me is October 19th! We shall see what happens.
@baseballismyfavoriteseason it's okay if you don't like it, it's really just a prediction tool, that's all due dates are too, just guesstimates. Babies come when babies want to at the end of the day. I'm still slightly confused what about my case makes a September 17th date reasonable but we'll just have to wait and see 😉 Ultimately I don't want baby to born on 10/16 because my narcissist aunt's birthday is that day and I flat out refuse to entertain the possibility 😂
@wineren and @animalandplantrescuer my birthday is the day before my mom's, too. I was born at home, so she wasn't in the hospital, but she did NOT want to share a birthday with me.
Count me in the having baby early club. My mfm docs are just trying to get me to 36 weeks.
@baseballismyfavoriteseason my daughter got 3 tickets to the zoo for her birthday in April. I really want to go but I feel like it’s a waste since only the outdoor exhibits are open. We might wait another month and see if that particular county gets into phase 3. Maybe they’ll open more of the zoo up. Good luck. You’ll have to tell me how it goes.
Hey y’all can we have some fun new GTKY’s. Like wedding dress or favorite costume. Favorite artwork your child has made. What does your screen name mean? Any others that might be fun!
I'm hoping my doctor let's me schedule my c-section at just under 39wks, it sounds terrible, but I really would love their birthday to be before the 24th or after the 29th, and I worry that if we schedule after the 29th I'll go into labor and have my scheduled turn into emergency. Reasoning for the days, 24th =DH birthday, 26th =Wedding Anniversary, 29th = my birthday... I know its may seem petty, but I want them to have their own day, and if it's in the middle of all that it makes or harder for making each event special. I would LOVE a Oct. 20 or 22 birthday!

@baseballismyfavoriteseason that soundsike so much fun!

My DS September BMB had babies June-October.
