So far so good over here. I peed on sticks almost daily right after I found out, but my husband made me stop doing that. 😂 Just patiently waiting for my appointment on June 29.
Really rainy day here. Just hanging out with my girls while SO works for his cousin.
That's funny @shlecks , kind of the opposite for me- this is my 3rd and but my SO's first and he's made me POAS every day (sometimes twice a day) since BFP because he's so nervous/excited.
@tilournextadventure We have already told a few people closest to us mainly because my husband can’t stand secrets! But we will announce to extended family after the first appointment, and then social media after 1st tri most likely.
I already told my best friend and mom because I need someone else besides my husband to talk about every detail with. We aren’t telling the rest of our parents/siblings until my son’s birthday party. I’ll be 10.5 weeks at that point. My first appointment is 4 days before the party and after recently having a MC we want to wait longer to tell them all this time. I do have an ultrasound in 9 days too that I’m soooo ready for!
Thanks! We agreed to announcing via social media for our anniversary which will align with being 16 weeks along. But can't decide if we should tell anyone else before then. Ugh, with our first pregnancy we told my aunt then my best friend pretty quickly then announced at my mom's birthday when I was 12 weeks to everyone else. It's different now since we are in a different country.
When are you telling family and friends? DH and I can't decide when to.
I waited until 13 weeks to tell our parents last time and 20 weeks to annouce on social media. I don't want to hide this time, so we plan to tell our parents on Father's day. I'm not sure when we'll do social media if at all.

We told our parents and siblings yesterday. I’m a notoriously bad liar and they know we’re trying so I wanted to avoid an awkward lying interaction. Plus we’re close to our parents and see them often so I thought I’d probably slip up. Leaning toward telling a couple close girlfriends this week for the same reason. Not sure when we’ll do social media, but will probably start telling the extended family and other friends that we aren’t AS close to after 12 weeks
We’ll tell immediate family and close friends in a few weeks once the MC risk is lower than 10%. We’ll announce it on social media at 12 weeks or so.
Currently in nap hell over here. DS is transitioning from two naps to one (he’s 16 months) so I’ve got a grumpy tired kid who refuses to go down but also refuses to do anything except yell. I’m thinking a car nap is in the near future so I can have some quiet.
I didn’t want to tell anyone for awhile but we decided to hang out with a couple that is very close to us and she offered me sangria and there was just no lying to them. We’ll tell family after we get NIPT results and social media will be a little while after that.
Yes, I bought a 25 pack of wondfos and have been peeing on them every few hours.
Love, A fellow PGAL mom who panics easily in early pregnancy and pees on all the things
I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s panicking! I feel like a crazy person. This is my third kid , you’d think I’d have chilled out by now. Nope. Not at all!
Signed, girl who literally just peed on another stick
Same! I have a big box of the cheapies. I peed on several right in the beginning and then kept peeing on them everyday to make sure the line was getting darker. I’m waiting on the results of my second blood draw so maybe I will stop peeing on them soon lol
Just had my first blood draw to check progesterone. I'm super nervous waiting for the results. The nausea comes and goes, and I hate when I'm not nauseous because it's my only pregnancy symptom!
I have to stop peeing on sticks lol, I keep comparing all of them. I am only on cycle day 28 and I keep testing. I need to tell my husband to hide them haha. But is it too early to ask for betas? Do I need to wait longer than 28 days? *TW loss mentioned* I have had 3 early losses and would just like the peace of mind or knowing this isn't viable.
@lena1024 I’m avoiding cold cuts, but that’s just because my risk tolerance is really low. Objectively, though, I don’t think that the risk of listeria is super high in the US. I wouldn’t eat them every day, but I doubt that having a wrap every couple weeks would be high risk.
> @szwill86 said: > @cmoon3 FX for great levels! How long until you know? Mine usually takes 5-7 painstakingly long days.
5-7 days! They told me they would have the results tomorrow. I've never had one done before, so that's why I'm nervous. My other two pregnancies I just waited until 10 weeks for my first appointment (except for the dating ultrasound).
@nbcarlson it depends how many DPO you are. I always am 10 DPO by CD 28 since I ovulate around CD 16-18. I’d say anywhere between where you are and beyond should be fine, but I’m not your Dr. It doesn’t hurt to ask them!
@cmoon3 I know- they send it to Quest instead of the in-house one that they do for hCG. For progesterone, anything over 10 is good (or so I’ve been told). Hope you find out in the AM tmrw and don’t have to wait all day!
I usually get my blood results within 24 hours for regular labs
I got my blood drawn yesterday and she was supposed to call today. She didn’t. I don’t want to call bc I know her office is closed today and I don’t want to deal with the answering service (who my MIL works for). I guess I’ll wait til tomorrow but I’m expecting her to tell me to go ahead and schedule my ultrasound for later this week. (I’ve been having consistent right sided pelvic pain and we want to rule out ectopic). I’ll definitely be calling tomorrow morning as soon as they open
As for cold cuts, I rarely eat them so for me to cut them out is no biggie. But you can definitely heat it up to lower the risk. But also you can get sick from a lot of stuff (there were sooo many lettuce recalls when I was pregnant with my first) so who even knows
@moguippy Let us know how the ultrasound goes! I’ve had left sided pelvic pain on and off since I had my second kid. I hope it’s just a cyst or something that’ll go away!
Is anyone else still breastfeeding a child? My little one still nurses when she first wakes up and before she goes to bed. I'm super emotional about having to wean her due to pregnancy. (No way I'm tandem nursing)
@susan112118 I weaned my little a couple months ago, but a few gals in my previous BMB recently talked about this. From their experience (one is a lactation consultant), supply will drop and the taste might change a bit due to hormones, so many kids will self-wean during pregnancy because of that. You could see how it goes for a while, and if she doesn’t self-wean by the third tri you could start weaning then. That’ll give you a few months still.
@susan112118 I nursed the entire first trimester with my second pregnancy. I was so hungry all the time! LOL I finally weaned DS1 because it hurt too much, and he was old enough (18 months). Doesn't sound like your DD is demanding a huge supply, so maybe continue for a while longer? There's no rush.
Got my results and everything looks good. My quad results say I'm 5-6 weeks pregnant! Say what? I think I'm 4w3d. Supposedly I'll get a dating ultrasound in the next 4 weeks, so I guess I'll find out then. @szwill86 Let us know when you get your results :)
@shlecks - Super jealous of your appointment time - I have to wait until the 6th!
@cmoon3 - Glad your results looked good! My new OB didn't draw me this time, which I thought was odd. My first pregnancy they made me go in like 3 times so I just thought that was normal. Must vary based on practitioner, I guess. My last pregnancy they were a few weeks off on their estimates from how far along I believed I was and they didn't believe me until the dating ultrasound, you definitely know your body best!
Also a PGAL, but so far I've resisted burning through the rest of my PG tests. Part of me is paranoid and wants to save them in case we need them again
Had to tell my chiro today, but other than that only DH & his ex know (we're close). I'm debating if I want to tell parents early or not. DH is a little more hesitant since our last one was a loss, but part of me wonders if it would be better to have that support structure already in place and adjusted to the idea just in case something bad were to happen. The other part of me wants to save them the potential heartache/disappointment. Currently thinking we'll wait to tell immediate family until after our chromosome test results come back (whenever that is). SM won't be until I'm ready to tell work.
@moguippy - Here's hoping that it's something benign! Let us know how your results go
@lena1024 - I've just been nuking or sauteing any questionable meat products. Luckily, I can easily switch something like the BLT for our work Jimmy John's orders and no one will be the wiser. Eventually, some one will catch on to my Decaf k-cups though, lol.
@cmoon3 yay for great results! I got my Progesterone levels back Tuesday- they’re the highest # they’ve been out of all my pregnancies 👍🏻 Still going to take the Crinone supplement until 10-12 wks bc my OB says no harm no foul and my PGAL brain tells me that it’s a necessity to do it.

I just had a turkey sandwich for lunch. I was sooo strict with my first, but now I am a little less risk adverse on this particular item.
