How are things going?: The weekend was difficult, lots of stress and anxiety. I'm hoping that I can throw myself into this new week, but it's not looking promising so far.

I've got friend drama, work stress, my AMA bday is coming up, and MH also has massive work stress, so it's a lot to handle. I also realized over the weekend that MH probably won't get to be with me for my FET, which bummed me out a lot. I totally understand covid safety, etc. and MH says he understands too and is ok with it. It just kind of sucks. I've had a lot taken away from me throughout this process, and this has forced me to confront a lot of emotions I had buried.

I was on BCP for 10 days from 1/18 until 1/27, then started stims on 1/30. I stimmed for 11 days, and triggered on 2/10. My RE told me in our post-ER discussion that I was right in the mid-range of medication, response, and stimulation.

How are things going?: Things were much better this week. BC side effects seem to have subsided which I'm grateful for. I'm on my last hormonal pill of the first pack today so that's definitely something positive to focus on.

@mvt2003 my friend, I'm sorry it's been a rough week. I want this week to be different for you and I want you to go into your FET with happy, wonderful and positive stress-free thoughts so how can we make this happen? At the end of every day this week I want you to reflect on at least one good thing that happened that day. Train your brain to think about the positives and that will help you let go of the negatives. When you feel yourself start to think of the negative or bad things happening stop yourself and think of the opposite or find a positive about that bad thing. Let's get you ready for this FET!!

How are things going?: Overall not bad! My OPKs over the weekend were on the lighter side so hopefully they stay that way and I can say I O'd. But honestly, it is what it is and it's out of my control so I'm really not stressing too much about it.

hope you can ease the stress and anxiety this week. Music always really helped me get into the mood I needed to be in for our FET. That really sucks that YH can't be with you for the FET, but it's better than not being able to do the FET at all.

How are things going?: I didn't realize until this morning that my failed FET due date came and went on Friday. I guess it was just another date that could have been and was no different than any other potential due date with other cycles. I've been in a weird funk on occasion lately and I don't really know what it is. I think there's just not a lot to be happy about right now. Just taking it day by day.

@inthewoods23 I guess I just feel numb to all the TTC stress right now and it's not even phasing me anymore, at this moment in time anyway. Or maybe I'm really finally learning that I can't control this aspect of my life? Who knows! I hope you can find somethings this week to be happy about

Also, Iceland is def. on my bucket list of places to visit! I want to see those northern lights so badly!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own

How are things going?: Great news! MH’s count went up from 0.8 million/mL to 56 Million/mL.. his motility was still on the low side at 30% but I’m blown away at how much of an improvement there was!! Our Dr. Recommended we try on our own for another month or two and then move ahead with IUI since we’ve been trying for a while already. She said it was up to us whether we want to try naturally or do a medicated cycle. She said we could even jump right into IUI as soon as they offer it again at the clinic. So lots of options and we are still discussing what we want to do.. I am so excited the numbers improved so much, but at the same time, I’m so used to periods and BFN’s it’s hard to be hopeful.
Also, I had a repeat ultrasound last week to monitor a lesion on one of my ovaries, and it hasn’t grown since the last scan. So I’m very relieved about that! I was really worried about it. We still have to continue monitoring it but it’s likely not malignant since the size hasn’t really changed since they discovered it.

@kpearse99 yeah like the fact that we're nearly at 3 years of trying... it's just whatever. It feels too expected that it doesn't work month after month. Part of that could be that we haven't HIO much to have a real good chance of trying. I want to get into a more consistent EOD in the next day or so and just not have to worry about timing. But I'm a little more hopeful now that we're getting close to the 3 month mark of taking all these supplements so hopefully we're getting some boosted sperm this summer!

@misshelen86 so glad you got good news on YH's sperm! Some supplements could definitely help boost the motility (I think that's one of the easiest things to improve with sperm over actual count and morphology).

@mvt2003 lots of hugs to you, my friend. I am so sorry you've been struggling. 💜 To answer your question from last week, I haven't gotten any protocol yet for my IVF cycle. My RE just moved offices so maybe they're not sending out anything just yet.
@inthewoods23 totally get what you mean about just being in a funk. I was feeling like that last week. Just felt sad anxious and "off". Does that make sense?
@kpearse99 I think Homegoods will be my first stop when retailers open again!
@gingermama29 glad the BCP effects are starting to lessen. That's what I am least looking forward to about IVF, having to take those.

DH feeds me constantly, and thanks to progesterone shots/estradiol pills I am eating like a horse. Can’t help but symptom spotting as well as binge watching FET vlogs 😂 I have DH hide all my HPT. 3 more days until my beta!!

@emeraldduchess yes I totally get what you mean. It's that weird "off" feeling where you just don't know what has you feeling blah. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that there's not a whole lot of positive stuff going around. And maybe it's the body feeling out of sorts because it's not fully adjusted to the new normal.

@mvt2003 I'm sorry for all the stress. I understand the AMA birthday being a big milestone. i felt it too when I got there. Just remember that is a pretty antiquated way of looking at maternal age. I've never had any medical professional say that 35 actually matters to them. You're still a youngin!
@misshelen86 That is such an amazing improvement! I imagine it just feels nice to have forward movement. So much of this process is cyclical and feels like we're not making actual progress. But that is definitely a huge step forward!
@inthewoods23 I'm glad that your FET date didn't mess with you too much. I can't believe it's been a year already since that time. I think you said it before, but do you have a date for another FET?

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Sorry I didn't update you all sooner, but a lot has been going on. I went this morning for my AFC for the IVF clinical trial, and I was approved! I'm supposed to call on CD 1 of my next cycle to get started. We are doing some baseline testing during my next cycle (I have to get a hysteroscopy, and MH has to have another SA) and we will start stims the cycle after that, in July!

How are things going?: It still feels weird to have that confirmation that we are doing a clinical trial. I feel really hopeful, but I just keep waiting to find out we are excluded somehow.

Any questions?: Anything I should be worried about with the hysteroscopy? Is that going to be painful like my HSG was?

Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, High NK cells count & activity, blood-clotting disorders, AMA

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Au Naturel. Hoping to begin FET prep with next period.

How are things going?: Feeling a bit down about the whole process. I started RI treatment 7.5 months ago and, while it’s finally lowered my NK cells into normal range, I haven’t had any other success with the treatment. All the “what-ifs” are starting creep in: what if I missed my chance, what if my eggs really are too old, what if we don’t get good results at retrieval... Trying to counteract all these thoughts with positive ones, but this is the reality.

Any questions?: Just last week’s question of what was your stimming protocol, how long did you stim for before ER? Thank you @mvt2003 for your response!

@keikilove I never got to say how amazing your news was last week about your NK cells!!! I know that the what-ifs are creeping in, it's only natural, but friend - your NK cells being in normal range is a HUGE thing and it's just one more step in the right direction for your FET to be successful! Good things are coming for you, I can just feel it in my bones!!!

@emeraldduchess that is the PERFECT wrapper to get!!! @bluetickgal got a good wrapper the other day too! I also feel that we are just one day closer to our rainbow... the other day I looked up into the sky and saw the most unique rainbow. It wasn't your typical rainbow it was more of like a watercolor brush-stroked rainbow without the arch and it was only visible with my sunglasses on.

@pom9207 Girl, I am so stoked for you!!!! Smart choice having YH hide those HPTs and how adorable is it that he just keeps feeding you! MH would be doing the same thing haha I have everything crossed that this is your time!!!!

@mvt2003 So many hugs to you, MVT. I’m sorry it’s such a rough time right now. It’s especially tough when YH has stress too. Maybe you guys can take a daily walk together to talk through the stuff that’s going on? It may not change the cause of the stresses, but might provide some relief just to express it openly. Hang in there—you do have the FET to look forward to, so that’s one bright shining light! ☀️🌈

@shoogapoff DH and I decided to try on our own for a little while to see if the GF and DF diet solves it. You can read a lot about how gluten and dairy can be inflammatory. I think it causes the body to see an embryo as a danger and prevents implantation. My RE said they've had 100% success with FETs where they have them go on that diet when all other tests have come back normal. We're giving ourselves a bit of a financial break and will try for the summer and then probably give them a call sometime in September or October. So glad you got approved for IVF! What did they say your AFC was?

@keikilove I think for me in total I only stimmed for 9 days. I started on a Friday evening and ended the following Saturday with the trigger shot taken on Sunday and ER Tuesday. My protocol included menopur (75U), gonal-F (started at 125U and dropped down to 75 after the first follicle check), and lupron. I'll always remember the day I started because I did it in a tent during Relay for Life haha. I think you make a really good point regarding HSP. I feel like I'm being more sensitive towards things these last few weeks but maybe I'm just noticing it more now that I'm aware that it's a thing and occurring. Which sounds like the exact opposite of what it means to be an HSP

@shoogapoff I missed your update when I was tagging other. CONGRATS on getting into the clinical trial! That’s amazing! Just out of curiosity, does the trial cover the cost of YH’s SA & your hysteroscopy when it’s required for the trial? Also, I was very nervous for my hyst but it wasn’t bad at all. You should be fine. Hopefully others will chime in on that question.

@inthewoods23 Thanks for sharing your stims protocol too! It’s helpful for my brain to gather as much info as possible; I like knowing the possibility that it could be as short as 8 or 9 days but maybe as long as 2 weeks... Prepares me to be flexible./ You make me want to learn more about this HSP diagnosis!

@keikilove they had originally told me it would be between 10-12 days of stims with the last day of stims being on that Sunday, trigger shot Monday, and ER Tuesday. Idk why it ended up different. For appointments I had the go ahead after the appointment the day before stim day 1, then the following week I had appointments MWF and Sunday. My clinic tries to keep to the schedule as much as possible. I think rarely have they had to move an ER date up or down a day.

I hope you're closer to that goal than I am.

@keikilove Thanks so much! You're so sweet. The trial does not cover my hysteroscopy, unfortunately. It also doesn't cover required STD testing and didn't cover today's ultrasound. And we lost our insurance coverage, so we have to pay cash. But compared to what IVF would have cost, we are okay with the expense. Thankfully the trial does cover MH's SA and everything else after that.

@inthewoods23 Ah. I probably missed that update somehow. That makes total sense. FX this does the trick and you don't have to think about doing IVF again! I have an IRL friend who is doing dairy/gluten free because of **trigger warning** multiple miscarriages. *** It definitely seems to be something that could help a lot of people's fertility. It was weird with my AFC because they did it today on CD 17, but I thought it had to be done early in the cycle. He saw 6 follicles on my right ovary, which is the ovary it seems like I ovulated from. Then he saw 9 on my left. So my total count was 15, just over what I needed to be approved. But I kind of wonder if it might fluctuate a little if we rescanned at the beginning of my cycle. *shrug*

@gingermama29 Ugh, I hear you on the student loans. I’m still paying off the last bit of mine many years later.😩 When I first dated MH I was afraid to tell him about my student loan debt (he doesn’t have any) but it turns out it’s so common that he didn’t bat an eye. We have a hefty chunk of total debt together in our married life, but we’ve had a solid plan for the past 18 months for paying it down that we’ve been sticking to, so I believe we will be debt-free one day in the not-too-far-off future. Oh, you know—AFTER we are relieved of all the IF costs of monthly supplements, vitamins, medicines, actual egg retrieval, stim meds, IVF procedures, etc. 😄🙏🏽😄 ONE day!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own and then repeating CD3 testing before deciding whether to pull the trigger on IVF

How are things going?: Just feeling overwhelmed by the combination of my personal stuff and everything going on in the world. It's just such a dark time and it's hard not to get sucked into the darkness. But I'm feeling stupidly optimistic about this natural cycle and am totally drowning out the "less than 1% chance" the RE gave us. I think because I know this is possibly our last chance to conceive naturally before we move forward with treatment.

Thanks for all of your support, friends. I'm feeling better today. I leaned on MH for the stress, and let some of it out, which helped. I also worked out a lot, which always helps my stress. I woke up early today and we did 21 Day Fix Extreme Day 16 together, which always puts me in a better mood.

@gingermama29 I'm so so happy the side effects are subsiding. BCP can be brutal!

@kpearse99 Sweet friend, I am so so lucky to have you in my life. I put your Spotify playlist on yesterday and took the dog for a walk, and it absolutely helped. I remembered I'm not alone, and everything is going to work out in the end.

@inthewoods23 So many hugs for your empty due date, friend. I'm glad it didn't eat away at you, and I'm also glad in a way that you were able to mark the date. I feel like we're all in a bit of a funk right now with everything going on, but it helps to know we're not alone.

@misshelen86 I literally squealed when I saw YH's numbers!!!! AMAZING!!!!!! Hoping so freaking hard that you guys can go straight to IUI and hit it hard!

@emeraldduchess I love that message you got! Hoping so hard that July brings your rainbow! (I'm not sure how your practice works, but we got our meds list when we met with our RE to discuss IVF, and the orders went in before my cycle even started. My insurance was funky and took some time to approve the meds and I had to stay on top of my RE's office to make sure they were submitting them to the correct place, so I would maybe call the office and see if they are starting that process? I don't want you to have any delays!)

@keikilove thanks! I talked to myself that even if I tested negative using HPTs, I will still need to do PIO until the official beta comes back. I don’t want to stab my butt knowing it’s for nothing... if I tested positive at home, most likely I will keep testing every day/night to check for line progression while having loads of anxiety. I know myself all too well😂

@mvt2003 glad you are feeling better! And glad you were able to let out some emotions.

@shoogapoff I recall there being some results that can be done any time during a cycle, but I don't recall if that was AFC or AMH. Too many TLAs (three letter acronyms

). 15 is a good number!

@legallykate there is just something about the amazing idea of beating that 1% chance. You just never know!

Just here to vent. My local RE that I love (a short flight away) can’t do any egg retrievals this month after all. The hospital she is attached to is still very cautious about any elective surgeries due to COVID (even though our cases have dropped significantly and we have some of the lowest numbers in the country). So they say my egg retrieval can’t be until late July or early August—if nothing changes. I’m so bummed because first it was March, then late June, now delayed again. And they could delay again after this.

My backup clinic (a very long flight away) could get me started as early as the end of this month. But that’s all out of pocket. I’m going to ask my insurance if there’s any chance they’d cover out-of-state treatment if I can’t get it locally.

Thank you all so much for the support @inthewoods23 @pom9207 @legallykate @mvt2003.💛💛💛💛 I spent a long time on the phone w my insurance yesterday, and then with the new clinic early this morning with more questions. Nothing for sure yet, but my insurance definitely covers my backup clinic! CNY Fertility is listed as a preferred provider in their system, so YAY for that! However, flights, hotel, ground transport, & food would be OOP so still assessing all that and whether it would be worth it or better to be patient here. Now that the in-network/out-of-state Pandora’s Box has been opened, I’m wondering if there’s some other Reproductive Immunology-knowledgeable RE/IVF clinic a bit closer to me that I could go to, at least on the West Coast... Down the rabbit hole I go!

@inthewoods23 Thanks. I felt funny about 15, because I had to have a minimum of 14, so I felt like I basically got a C+ on the AFC test. :P But, I guess in the classroom of IF, it's more of a pass/fail scenario, so I should just take it.

The real reason I’m posting though is about your question. I was put under twilight sedation for my hysteroscopy (but they knew they were removing something). Have they mentioned if you will be awake or sedated?
