Pregnancy Announcements in Era of COVID

Re: Pregnancy Announcements in Era of COVID

  • @willashbaby. Thanks for that perspective.  I think I am open to telling people but not posting anything on social media for a while.  It is one thing to tell people that I talk to on a regular basis and are more family than friend.  It is another thing to tell people I haven't seen since college or high school. And then people I have never even met as the news gets liked and shared and whatever.  I think our anatomy scan is also a little earlier than 20 weeks as well.

  • @dobiemom11 I’ve opted to wait until after my anatomy scan to because although things were okay with my NT scan I was just more nervous than excited to post anything! Go with your gut!
  • @dobiemom11 there is no rule you have to announce at 12 weeks.  Personally,  we won't announce until at least after test results are back, aand I don't think that's a begu uncommon time line for people to share.  You are also not required to make a big announcement ever,  you  can come home from the hospital with a baby and let everyone know that way if you want!   If I was in your shoes I would ask for MIL to be respectful of your wishes not to share any news until you feel ready.  And ask work too respect your privacy and not share the info except with those who need to know.

  • Hi everyone, second time mom here. I got my BFP (unplanned but so loved!) in early May. My very first appointment won’t be until June 9th, earliest i could get in unfortunately, but everything seems to be going well so we went ahead and bought fake lotto tickets for our pregnancy announcements. Super cute and I’m so ready to use but waiting till after my appointment to be extra sure everything is going smoothly.
