This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

How are things going?: Got the call yesterday to trigger in the evening, and IUI is scheduled for tomorrow morning!
Any questions?: since they're having us bring in the sample instead of H producing it in person tomorrow, I'm wondering if there are any rules for transporting it, like keeping it warm or dark or anything? I just emailed my nurse, so I'm waiting to hear back from her but just wondering what others have done
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? so this took me some time to think about. I was literally like "wait, what TV shows do I watch" lol eyeroll to me. Anyway, I think I'd like the Dunphy house from Modern Family. It's not a mansion or anything but it's essentially my realistic dream house

How are things going?: I'm still feeling all of the emotions lately, I'm basically a human roller coaster. I'm currently trying to distract myself with house projects.

GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? I've always wanted to live in the Full House house!

@manillabar GL tomorrow!!!! I have a designated sock for that purpose, I put the sample in the sock and carry it in my bra. I did most of that stuff in cold weather, so it was more important for it to stay warm, I would zip my jacket up and keep the heat on in the car. You have an hour to get it there and you want it to stay body temperature, so at this time of the year you should be fine just keeping it close to your body heat.

@manillabar I don't have experience with this, but I don't think there are really any rules besides probably making sure the sample doesn't get too hot or too cold.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): trying on our own for a few months
How are things going?: got some relief this morning with FF moving my O date so at least now my timing isn't 0 and +1! I am once again not feeling very confident about the O date so I'm still not sure when I should expect AF. I think AF might be expected now on the 27-28th which means I would be late on the 29th, my original due date for the failed FET I joked with DH though that if it works this month, that means the problem has been me the whole time because the multivitamin and CoQ10 has only been part of his daily routine for maybe a month and a half so no time to show any improvement in the sperm. Frankly not getting pregnant until June/July would be more ideal with what we do during the winters so I can't be too mad. But at the same time I'm worried we're wasting months away
Any questions?: nope
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? I honestly don't even know because I don't watch much cable TV these days so I don't remember what different show's homes looked like. The question would be easier if it was for movie homes because those are always so fancy and modern which is one of my favorite styles.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), IUI, and Progesterone. Testing tomorrow at 14dpiui.
How are things going?: Doing pretty well! Excited & nervous to test tomorrow! Don’t really have any clear-cut symptoms that would make me think this cycle was a success, but still trying to be optimistic that it could be! If not, we will give IUI another try...and hopefully get some later monitoring so my follicles will hopefully be mature by then!
Any questions?: None.
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? Oh, this is a fun one! I’d say the Boy Meets World house...love that show!! It just seems like a modest home in a nice neighborhood too! But I would want a way bigger backyard...they basically had none!
@manillabar yay for already triggering and for your IUI tomorrow! Hope all goes well! 🤞🏻 We were just told to keep it body temp...so I rode with it between my legs on the way there, which I think did the trick just fine! They also said it needed to get to them within 2 hours, but we had it there within 40 minutes or so.
@mvt2003 I’m so sorry you feel all over the place! June is going to be here so soon...and hopefully those projects help to distract you until then!
@inthewoods23 I hope you get amazing news at the end of the month!! If not, that’s good that timing would work out better in another month or two!
@manillabar yay for your IUI tomorrow!! Good luck!! Crossing fingers for you!!
@mvt2003 sorry for all the emotions. I hope you're able to successfully distract yourself. June will be here soon!
@inthewoods23 I totally hear you on end of summer being better timing but feeling like you might be wasting months. I'm in the same boat for timing and trying to use that as my positive for having to be benched.
@bluetickgal crossing everything for you tomorrow!!
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): benched for 3 months
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Taking BCP to balance hormones
How are things going?: First week of BCP went pretty well. I had a couple days with mild nausea and minor headaches, which are common side effects but they weren't too bad. Hopefully those side effects will stay away this week. So far so good today.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? The one Derek built in Grey's Anatomy. Soooooo gorgeous!
Will be back for more tags, but wanted to say GL @manillabar tomorrow! And yeah like others have said, if it is chilly in the morning just find a place to keep it warm, cleavage or between legs are some favorite places. And ours says 1 hour to get it there, but I think that is because they give their lab an hour to wash it.
@bluetickgal GL testing tomorrow! FX for good news!
@gingermama29 each BCP is 1 day closer to being off the bench 🙂. I'm feeling so impatient. Like can I get KU now but not give birth until April or later? Lol

@gingermama29 thanks, friend! Sorry the BCP was giving you some unpleasant side effects. Hope they stay way now! I love @inthewoods23 reminder that each day gets you one day closer to being off the bench! I hope this 3 months flies by for you! Yes to the house Derek built, that’s perfect!
@manillabar thank you!! Everything possible crossed for you!! 💜
AFM, I got a BFN this morning...another disappointing month! 😒 It was fairly expected, but I was holding onto a glimmer of hope! Progesterone can play such mind games and I hate it!! I’ll wait for AF and then call to set up my second IUI cycle. Hoping to either get my Letrozole dose upped or have later monitoring if not. We’ll see...as the roller coaster continues!!
Aww sorry for the BFN @bluetickgal. Time for round 2!

@gingermama29 ah I had the same side effect in the beginning! I was on two different BCP for two different cycles, each time I started a new pack the side effect showed up immediately.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET
How are things going?: second lining check tomorrow, if everything looks good I will start the dreaded PIO on Thursday morning... I also finished my correct antibiotics for UTI. Hopefully it’s truly gone!
Any questions?:
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? Hmm maybe it’s not the best idea, but I want to live in Black Mirror..
Thank you @pom9207, @keikilove, and @bluetickgal. It went as well as it can, I guess. H's counts were a little low, which wasn't a problem during his SA... but nothing to do now but wait! I go Friday to have my progesterone checked. Hopefully I can survive this TWW lol
@pom9207 I'm so glad you're done with the second round of abx, hopefully that is it for you and I hope that your lining check goes well tomorrow!

Had my second lining check this morning, it’s at 8.5mm now. I am slightly surprised as last week it was already at 8.1. my E2 level also dropped. Hmmm 🤔
I have also been getting some cramps these two days. My RE said there is nothing to worry about. I will take his words!
@pom9207 glad you finished your antibiotic and hopefully that UTI is gone for good! That’s good your RE says there is nothing to worry about...fingers crossed so hard for you!! 🤞🏻
@manillabar glad all went well! Hope your progesterone check is good today! Try not to stress too much! I hope the next 2 weeks fly by for you and you get the BEST news at the end of it!! 💜
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): On Monday started Letrozole although I missed my CD3 monitoring appointment due to my back pain.
How are things going?: Well back pain got worse, now I am looking at surgery for it. So we had to cancel this cycle and are benched from TTC for the next 3-6 months at least. I am so sad and frustrated that what is benching us is not fertility related at all. I will probably check in here once in awhile and be lurking and cheering, but will take a bit of bump break through this.
Any questions?: No,
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? Does Chip and Joanne Gaines house qualify? I would want the whole farm and garden too!
@pom9207 Yay for the checks all moving along well!
@bluetickgal Sorry for the BFN and the rollercoaster that comes with progesterone. I know it all too well. Fx for round 2!
@inthewoods23 I can relate to feeling like you are wasting the months away. I try to remind myself that a month is just a month in the bigger picture of life, it is such a short timespan that outside of IF world has very little meaning. But easier said than done to not stress over each day in this process.
@gingermama29 Hope the side effects stay far away this week!
@mvt2003 I always want to go see the Painted Ladies when we are in SF, and we always run out of time before we make it over there!
@pom9207 did your side effects last through the whole pack? I'm continuing to have intermittent nausea this week and just saw it can last for the first 1-3 packs. I'm glad your RE says the cramps are nothing to worry about. FX for you!!
@ramzlau I'm so sorry friend about your upcoming surgery and getting benched. My heart hurts for you. Sending so many hugs. 💕
@ramzlau I’m so sorry you have to have surgery and be benched for several months! That sucks!! Sending you all the hugs & positive vibes!! 💜 I hope the surgery helps and you’ll be jumping back into TTC before you know it!!
@pom9207 hope you can finally put that UTI behind you and get this FET done!
@ramzlau I'm so sorry you're benched for surgery ❤️ you're always welcome to check in. Hope everything goes well with surgery and you're able to get back to TTC before the year is over!

@ramzlau so sorry you have to be benched I hope the surgery goes well!
@gingermama29 side effects only lasted for the first week! Or I get used to them? 😆
AFM I started giving myself PIO shot yesterday. It really requires some flexibility! I used 22g 1 inch needles, which is less intimidating compared to that long 1.5inch ones...
@kpearse99 It’s always good to see your name pop up! We always miss you when you’re away.
I’ve also been bad about really interacting here in the IF thread for the past few weeks. Gonna try to get myself together too!
@pom9207 FET hype!!!!!!! So excited for you! And CONGRATS on doing your first PIO shot! Don’t you feel like a warrior?😉🎉👍🏽
@ramzlau I am SO sorry about the back surgery news! ☹️That is very hard. Not to annoy you—I’m sure you’ve explored every path—but have you gotten second opinions from chiropractors, other doctors, etc? Just trying to think of anything that could help you avoid surgery and being benched so long. But if it’s going to help you overall then it’s worth it. P.S. Excellent choice of home/farm/garden!
@manillabar So glad things went well! Hope your progesterone check is good today too!
@gingermama29 Hope the intermittent nausea starts to lift soon, that’s no fun.
@inthewoods23 Hope this or the next one is your magic cycle. I totally get what you’re saying about ideal timing, but also feeling like months are wasting away. If only this could be easy...
@mvt2003 You may feel like an emotional rollercoaster, but I’m amazed by your sheer calmness & levity on this board. I feel so anxious & excited for you Hahaha! Hope the house projects are doing a good job of keeping you preoccupied!
Late to checkin this week, kept busy trying to avoid IF reality.
Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, Elevated NK cells & activity, blood-clotting disorders, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Au naturel. Consultation with new (backup) fertility clinic on Tuesday!
How are things going?: Fine. Have been feeling like my current IF clinic has had really poor communication (it’s a different office than my RE’s office that I love). I’ve been feeling like I don’t know what to expect/how to plan for a possible retrieval in late June. So I set up a consult with a backup fertility clinic (that I’d have to travel/fly to) in case my current clinic delays some more, or if a transfer doesn’t work the first time. My insurance will only cover one try, so I went with an affordable out-of-pocket backup clinic in case we need a second shot at it. This plan eased my stress a lot. But then I called my OB’s office this week and they don’t do monitoring at all for IVF patients, so I’m not sure how I would get the timing right to fly to the backup clinic for procedures, if it comes down to that. We don’t have any IVF doctors/clinics in my island and no doctors will do monitoring for IVF.😩 Maybe the new clinic will have suggestions at my consult next week.
Any questions?: Same as last week: has anyone used CNY Fertility in NY? Any TTGP grad lurkers? Thanks!
ETA: Thank you @gingermama29 for sharing last week about your friend’s experience with them!💓
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? Yolanda Hadid’s house in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The gardens, terraces, the Mediterranean look & feel of it...and who could forget her all-glass refrigerator!😍
@pom9207 when I had my first FET, DH was going to be gone for an overnight business trip so I had to figure out giving myself the injections. I had them draw circles so I could twist myself at home and see how I would need to position my arm and all that. To go in perpendicularly with the needle I need to twist at the waist as far as possible, move my shoulder and elbow as far back as possible, AND have my wrist bent back all the way. Needing flexibility for this is no joke!
@keikilove how TF is that a refrigerator??? How does that stay air tight? Sheesh, wish I had that kind of money!

@keikilove I’m glad getting an appointment with the backup clinic has helped to ease your stress a bit! I hope your clinic doesn’t delay though and you can proceed with a June FET! But that is so nice to know you have another option if not! Hopefully the appointment goes well next week, and they can give you some options for monitoring/timing if it comes to it! That refrigerator is crazy! It looks awesome, but I don’t think the contents of our fridge would look that nice! Haha.
@keikilove I am glad you are getting a backup lined up just in case, hopefully they have some solutions for the travel logistics. I have heard good things about CNY and I know there are grads here (I think from a few years ago though maybe? @BusinessWife Do you happen to remember anyone that was treated there?) I can’t remember who.
I have had a chiro and surgeon both recommend surgery. About 1/2 the reason for pursuing surgery is to get back to TTC as soon as possible. They are saying recovery without surgery would be 2-3 years and it would have to be birth control during that time because too big of risk if I get pregnant. I could have complete loss of leg. I listened to Dr Death last year so the thought of back surgery definitely has me freaked out, but it seems like best solution for us. But thank you for mentioning it! Never hurts to get another opinion!
@keikilove Thanks friend! I am so looking forward to the FET!
Good plan on finding a backup. Communication is so important for getting IF treatments since everything needs to be timed. I feel you!
@inthewoods23 hahaha exactly! The doctor said I can change my PIO shot time to be in the evening after the first shot, but I needed to make sure the gap between two shots are within 24 hours. So for my left butt I had to do exactly what you described — twisted at my waist as far as possible and trying to get the needles in with proper angle 🤣
@ramzlau loss of leg? WHAT!? 😱 Oh my! Will you be able to have the surgery in the near future or is it going to be some weeks/months from now?
@pom9207 non-dominate hand stabbing PIO is the worst 😆

@ramzlau OMG, the alternative to surgery sounds horrible!! Yes, take the 3-6 months benched over 2-3 years healing naturally! So sorry it’s come to that, but it does sound like your best option. Prayers up that you can have peace about the decision and not worry about anything but it going perfectly well.🙏🏽♥️ Thank you for the notes on CNY!
@pom9207 Oh yeah, it’s just like ITWoods described time get that left-side PIO shot. Good job on doing it yourself!
@bluetickgal & @inthewoods23 I have no idea what it costs to own a fridge like that! It’s so pretty in these pictures, but I don’t think all of our leftovers would be as lovely a view.😀
@ramzlau Do you mind me asking what surgery you're having? I have had 2 back surgeries, and I can't tell you how much my quality of life improved afterwards. I'm hoping you have a positive experience. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat further!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): synthroid, follistim + ovidrel+ iui

@gingermama29 each BCP is 1 day closer to being off the bench 🙂. I'm feeling so impatient. Like can I get KU now but not give birth until April or later? Lol

@manillabar hope IUI went well!
@gingermama29 ah I had the same side effect in the beginning! I was on two different BCP for two different cycles, each time I started a new pack the side effect showed up immediately.
@inthewoods23 yay for great timing!
@mvt2003 sorry for the emotion roller coaster. June will be here so soon!

@ramzlau I'm so sorry friend about your upcoming surgery and getting benched. My heart hurts for you. Sending so many hugs. 💕
@ramzlau I'm so sorry you're benched for surgery ❤️ you're always welcome to check in. Hope everything goes well with surgery and you're able to get back to TTC before the year is over!

@gingermama29 side effects only lasted for the first week! Or I get used to them? 😆
AFM I started giving myself PIO shot yesterday. It really requires some flexibility! I used 22g 1 inch needles, which is less intimidating compared to that long 1.5inch ones...

@gingermama29 Hope the intermittent nausea starts to lift soon, that’s no fun.
@mvt2003 You may feel like an emotional rollercoaster, but I’m amazed by your sheer calmness & levity on this board. I feel so anxious & excited for you Hahaha! Hope the house projects are doing a good job of keeping you preoccupied!
Thanks!
GTKY: If you could live in any TV show home, which one would it be? Yolanda Hadid’s house in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The gardens, terraces, the Mediterranean look & feel of it...and who could forget her all-glass refrigerator!😍
The version I might be able to afford one day:
@keikilove how TF is that a refrigerator??? How does that stay air tight? Sheesh, wish I had that kind of money!
