This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Sitting in limbo still
How are things going?: I'm not sure if I was able to update in here or not, but we had a telehealth appointment with our RE, and she did offer to do a medicated FET cycle for me. We decided to hold out a bit longer to see how things shake out with quarantine, partially because we would prefer to have this process as natural as we can make it (snort, I know) and also because estrogen supplementation gives me constant nausea and the protocol I would be on would also include PIO to boot.
We've since finished that cycle that I was just beginning when we spoke with our RE, and we're still no closer to being able to do a natural FET. Basically, they need to be able to have embryologists in the office 7 days per week in order to do natural, and right now they need control of everyone's cycles so they can adjust staff as necessary. So, we're going to most likely suck it up and do a medicated FET next cycle.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal? Being able to just run out and get a coffee!!!

Diagnosis (if you've been): underactive thyroid, low morph
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF- BFN yesterday, expecting AF tomorrow
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): this upcoming cycle I will officially begin treatment! Follistim, ovidrel trigger, and IUI
How are things going?: Not too bad, being able to start treatment is taking the sting off of the BFN, though I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic. Also the exterminator came to the office over the weekend but I till keep nervously looking around, hoping I don't see anymore ants! >_<
Any questions?: Has anyone here used Avella as their pharmacy? My doc sent the meds to a different pharmacy first but apparently my insurance requires me to use Avella. I feel like the first pharmacy was much more on top of things and that I have to do more legwork with Avella. I am definitely grateful to have some insurance coverage for the meds but I'm also really afraid that something is going to fall through the cracks.
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal? Hugging my extended family! (and friends for that matter) I miss them so much. I haven't hugged anyone who doesn't live in my house for two months and it's killing me lol

Diagnosis (if you've been): Secondary Unexplained IF
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): NTNP/EOD - next cycle we'll start back up with tracking!
How are things going?: Pretty good! I'm expecting AF to be here this weekend, which is totally fine as we have a wedding in Charleston in January and DH is the best man so he kinda needs to be there and I would hate to miss that wedding haha! We talked about what to do next month and we are both on board with our plan and are excited to get back into a more active approach to TTC. We agreed I should track with OPKs again and that we would then use preseed the way they prefer you to use it (applying it vaginally about 15 minutes before HIO). We'll only do that once I start getting darker OPKs.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal? Family and Friend gatherings! I miss my people!!! Also going to Home Goods and just shopping around in general!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), IUI (tomorrow), and Progesterone.
How are things going?: Going well! Had a really good weekend! I wanted to say that I hope I haven’t hurt or offended anyone by talking about resuming treatment. I know we were incredibly lucky that we were able to start back so quickly with where I was in my cycle...but I know so many of you are still waiting to start back, and I really hope your wait is almost over! I’m so sorry if I’ve caused any hurt by talking about my treatment though! I’ll keep it to a minimum and put it in a spoiler for now if that would help.
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal? Definitely being able to travel to visit family!! This sounds weird...but also being able to go to the store with DH! We have always gone to the store together, but now one of us sits in the car while the other one goes in.

@manillabar who was your first pharmacy? I had to do the same where I was getting my trigger shots for IUI through 1 pharmacy, then when I went to order IVF meds they found my insurance required me to go through Freedom Pharmacy. I think Avella was the 2nd option for pharmacies from my RE when getting our trigger shots. Freedom was definitely on top of things in my opinion.
@kpearse99 haha same, I also had reason to be like "ehhhh a January baby isn't the best idea". I would have had to be a unicorn for that miracle to happen. Clearly I am not!
@bluetickgal I'm just glad this thread will be hopping again with people going through treatment!! I'm happy to see things finally moving forward for some of us!

@inthewoods23 hope the diet and supplements work their magic! The clinic must be a little surprised when you tell them you are gonna hold off on the FET
@mvt2003 totally feel you... I hated the ideas of doing PIO shots, and my RE told me in general natural and medicated FET have similar success rate. But he suggested a medicated for me even before the quarantine...
@kpearse99 exciting that you will start to actively trying again!
coming back for more tags as well as my updates...

@bluetickgal thanks, and good luck tomorrow!!!
@intothewoods23 The first pharmacy was Mandell's clinical pharmacy. They were definitely more responsive, and their OOP prices seem to be cheaper than Avella's. I think it's great that you are giving the diet and supplements a chance. Hoping it does the trick for you!
@emeraldduchess as much as I've tried to look, I can't find any reason why she would get banned. Sorry for the late O, hopefully your body is just preparing to release an awesome egg 🤞🏾

@emeraldduchess I can relate to feeling like a late O means garbage eggs! Any news on when your RE will resume treatment?
@inthewoods23 Its great to give the diet and supplements time to work, and if anything they will just improve your chances when you go back to treatments if that is what it comes too. From what I have seen it takes a few cycles to see those benefits so even better to wait a bit! And I hear you on the financial break, it has been nice to not be spending so much on doctors right now.
@kpearse99 I am ready for you to jump back in with both feet! Hoping the break was refreshing and your body was able to recoup!
Be back for more tags!
@manillabar Glad you can start treatment soon!
@kpearse99 glad you have a plan you feel good about! I don't know if I knew that about Pre-seed! It's been a bit since we tried it. I wonder if it's the same with Conceive Plus.
@bluetickgal Also don't feel you should have to do a spoiler! I'm happy to celebrate with you that you're able to start up treatment! I'm so glad the IUI went well and the numbers were good! FX for you.
@inthewoods23 Totally understandable that you're holding off with everything going on. It's good to know the clinic is starting to schedule people for when you are ready!
@emeraldduchess Ugh sorry for the late O. Super annoying!
@pom9207 Ugh glad you're feeling better and hope the UTI is completely gone! Glad you're getting going with the FET cycle!
@abarr723 That's great about the masks and that it can be a side hustle! Now I want a sewing machine. I hope the next weeks of school fly by!
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained so far, HSG missing from workup due to delay
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): expecting AF soon
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Tried on our own...I might call the doctor when AF arrives and talk about an HSG for next cycle but I think that kind of procedure is still shut down.
How are things going?: Okay, I guess I was wrong about O date because was expecting AF Tuesday (I wasn't doing OPKs or temping, just CM so could definitely have been wrong). So now I'm in fake-out mode where I keep SS and thinking "maybe I really AM late!" even though I pretty much feel exactly like I always do before AF. (I'm also someone who always WFAF and never tests...I could actually get a definitive answer!)
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal? So much...browsing local bookstores, grabbing a coffee, going into the corner store, seeing my parents (they don't live close by so not a part of daily life but the fact that it's not allowed is sad), being able to think more than a week into the future.
@whitealbum29 Yea! I was shocked when I initially read about it (been using it for the full 20 months now) but totally shook my head NO at applying it that way. After reading more about it it makes sense as it then gives the lube time to mimic your own body's CM...etc. So...we'll give it a go! I don't know about ConceivePlus but I would look into it for sure.

@mvt2003 I can definitely commiserate on the extended wait to resume treatment since we're in the same location.
@manillabar I haven't used that specific pharmacy but I get the frustration of only having one option. My insurance only covers meds from one pharmacy and my RE's office was very disappointed (I guess they like working with some pharmacies more than others).
@kpearse99 OMG I miss Homegoods/TJMaxx/Marshalls sooooo much! I did NOT know that about Preseed. Hope not waiting 15 minutes isn't a deal-breaker!
@bluetickgal doesn't it feel great after you do your first trigger shot? I felt like a beast. Like, "grrr, look what I did!"
@inthewoods23 you missing Bonefish Grille with your friend reminds me how much I miss goin to afternoon tea with my friend. We've talk about getting the scones and sandwiches to go, but the main reason we go to that place is for the atmosphere.
@pom9207 FX for your FET!!
@abarr723 sorry online school seem so disorganized. I hope it gets easier to navigate!
@ramzlau I miss outdoor restaurant dining, too! I hope it's back before summer is over. No news yet on when I can resume treatments. They were optimistic two weeks ago when I went in for bloodwork, but that was before the stay at home order was extended.
@whitealbum29 sorry AF seems right around the corner. It's always a letdown to get to the point in the TWW where you don't feel any different.
@abarr723 wow that's a pretty good price for a sewing machine! Glad you're able to enjoy the time at home.
@whitealbum29 that sounds so frustrating... this is why I always end up at least doing opk's, even when I say I won't, because I hate wondering if AF is late or not, so much uncertainty. I hope it all becomes clear soon, one way or another! (but if there's any chance for a BFP, I'm rooting for that!)
@emeraldduchess yeah my RE's office was not thrilled about working with Avella either, haha. I think it's so dumb that insurances dictate which pharmacies people can use.
as for me, AF came tuesday as expected, had my baseline scan yesterday, and started follistim last night! Glad to get things moving.

I emailed my RE this week updating her that my cycle just started and we're hoping we can do a natural FET next cycle but if not we'd like to proceed with a medicated one.
She just replied that we can do a natural unmedicated FET in June so I should call the nurse line on my next CD1!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so incredibly grateful to the universe for this, that I cannot even express it.

@abarr723 go kick butt for the next 10 weeks! It'll be over before you know it!
@ramzlau for real, it's going to be weird to finally have freedom to move around everywhere in the future. I finally got in contact with my clinic's office (they had to call me again, whoops lol) and they were totally cool with us trying on our own again for a little while. The break from all the appointments and shots has been nice!
@whitealbum29 it doesn't hurt to ask if they can do the HSG soon. Even if they don't, I hope they make a note to get you in ASAP once they start allowing that again so you can get moving forward!
@emeraldduchess I guess we could always eat while sitting on the hoods of our cars in the parking lot haha. Is that close enough to the real atmosphere just being in the parking lot??
@manillabar yay for getting follistim started!
I figured while I was on the phone with the RN at my clinic I would ask some questions if we happen to be successful naturally. I guess it's sort of at the RE's discretion, but she may be totally fine with seeing me in those early weeks since I'm an established patient. She'd do extra stuff like track HCG, progesterone, and estrogen, but I like that I could be seen early unlike most that conceive naturally - is that kind of selfish?
