Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o 5.4

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

How are things going?:

Any questions?:

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to when life gets back to normal?

  • @mvt2003 I'm sorry that things aren't working out for you to get your natural cycle. A lot of places are starting to ramp back up. Do you think there's any chance their staffing will change before this cycle is over?

@manillabar Yes, you're correct a lot of states are starting back up, I'm just not holding out much hope for mine. I'm in New England, and our governor has extended our stay at home order until May 18, most people are assuming it will get extended again until June. I also think that in general, my clinic is going to want to be able to control the number of patients they have cycling at a given time for the next few months in order to best prevent any virus spreading, so I have a strong feeling that natural FET is many cycles away.

@kpearse99 Thank you, friend, you know that means a lot to me. <3 I'm so happy this NTNP break has been good for you, and am excited for you to pick up TTC a bit more actively (albeit less stressfully!!!)!

  • In positive news, my clinic just called. They're working on getting people rescheduled. Too bad I have to call them back and tell them we're going to hold off for a little while.

Feels stupid that I'm going to do that... but I have to give this diet and DH's supplements a chance to work their magic. Also I need a financial break from it all.

    why is @keikilove banned?!

@inthewoods23 hope the diet and supplements work their magic! The clinic must be a little surprised when you tell them you are gonna hold off on the FET :D

@mvt2003 totally feel you... I hated the ideas of doing PIO shots, and my RE told me in general natural and medicated FET have similar success rate. But he suggested a medicated for me even before the quarantine...

@kpearse99 exciting that you will start to actively trying again!

  • @kpearse99 💜 and now I get ice cream tonight!! Haha, totally worth sticking myself for it!
@mvt2003 thanks friend!! And thanks for the reassurance! I just started thinking about it, and I know how things all hit us differently! I’ve been upset by things that probably wouldn’t have upset others at that time. I think a lot of it depends on where we are emotionally at that moment, but I don’t ever want to be the cause of someone’s hurt if I can keep from it!
@inthewoods23 true, things should start picking up around here in the next few weeks. That’s not stupid at all...you have to do what’s best for you and YH and it sounds like waiting out the diet & supplements is a very good plan!
  • @mvt2003 I see... sorry, hopefully you and the RE are able to come up with a plan that you feel comfortable with

@bluetickgal thanks, and good luck tomorrow!!!

@intothewoods23 The first pharmacy was Mandell's clinical pharmacy. They were definitely more responsive, and their OOP prices seem to be cheaper than Avella's. I think it's great that you are giving the diet and supplements a chance. Hoping it does the trick for you!

@emeraldduchess as much as I've tried to look, I can't find any reason why she would get banned.  Sorry for the late O, hopefully your body is just preparing to release an awesome egg 🤞🏾

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET!

How are things going?: better! I had my baseline appointment this morning for the FET cycle. The clinic also agreed to take my urine sample again to confirm I don’t have UTI anymore. That 104F fever caused by suspected kidney infection was no joke...

@abarr723 Yay for having a side hustle!
@pom9207 Yay for a good baseline and glad you are feeling better!
@bluetickgal Fingers crossed! And I hope the next two weeks go by quickly! And you are a beacon of hope and light during all of this, so please don't spoiler yourself!
@emeraldduchess I can relate to feeling like a late O means garbage eggs! Any news on when your RE will resume treatment?
@inthewoods23 Its great to give the diet and supplements time to work, and if anything they will just improve your chances when you go back to treatments if that is what it comes too. From what I have seen it takes a few cycles to see those benefits so even better to wait a bit! And I hear you on the financial break, it has been nice to not be spending so much on doctors right now.
@kpearse99 I am ready for you to jump back in with both feet! Hoping the break was refreshing and your body was able to recoup!

    Be back for more tags!
  • @pom9207 So wonderful that you get to start the FET back up!! Woohoo!!

@whitealbum29 Yea! I was shocked when I initially read about it (been using it for the full 20 months now) but totally shook my head NO at applying it that way. After reading more about it it makes sense as it then gives the lube time to mimic your own body's CM...etc. So...we'll give it a go! I don't know about ConceivePlus but I would look into it for sure.

@ramzlau "OLD"  :D:D I'm dead! hahaha My WFH keeps getting extended (not that I'm complaining!). Our office won't be opening up until June 1st now and it will open up in waves... I'll be one of the later groups to go back as I can do my job fully from home. I am ready for the rest of the world, aside from work, to go back to "normal-ish" though!

I basically called them myself to schedule the follistim delivery (instead of waiting on them or else I think I'd have been waiting forever) and for any meds my insurance doesn't cover, I'll fill them at the other pharmacy. I guess we'll see how it goes.  I'm so glad your FET cycle is starting, that's so exciting!

@abarr723 wow that's a pretty good price for a sewing machine! Glad you're able to enjoy the time at home.

@whitealbum29 that sounds so frustrating... this is why I always end up at least doing opk's, even when I say I won't, because I hate wondering if AF is late or not, so much uncertainty. I hope it all becomes clear soon, one way or another! (but if there's any chance for a BFP, I'm rooting for that!)

@emeraldduchess yeah my RE's office was not thrilled about working with Avella either, haha. I think it's so dumb that insurances dictate which pharmacies people can use.

as for me, AF came tuesday as expected, had my baseline scan yesterday, and started follistim last night! Glad to get things moving.

  • @abarr723 glad you are still enjoying quarantine together...that’s how DH and I are, just making the most of it! I hope the next 10 weeks fly by for you so you’ll be done with school! I’m sure that will be a huge relief!
@ramzlau ah, thanks friend! I’m hoping everyone can get back to treatments soon...or just all get KU naturally before then!! I totally feel ya on the days all running together at this point! We can make it though...this really can’t go on forever, right?!
@whitealbum29 thank you friend!! I hope AF doesn’t actually show! But IF she does, I hope you are able to proceed with the HSG the next cycle.
@emeraldduchess thanks so much, friend!! Yes, I felt like a total rockstar after doing the trigger shot! Give me a bigger needle than that though, and I’d probably chicken out! Haha. Sorry the remote teaching is getting to be a bit stressful...I hope school can go back to “normal” for everyone by the Fall!
@manillabar so sorry AF showed, but yay for getting moving on the next cycle! Fingers crossed for you!!
@mvt2003 eek...that is so dang exciting, friend!! June is going to be here before you know it and I’m so glad you get to do a natural cycle like you wanted!!

@inthewoods23 that’s good you would be able to get in some early screening with your RE! @kpearse99 that’s great your RE will do early monitoring too...fingers crossed you are both unicorns and get KU during your natural cycles!! 🦄🦄
