April Symptoms

Re: April Symptoms

  • I am SO thirsty all the time. Had my first wave of nausea last night too at 5w0d- unsure if it was coincidence or a true symptom.

  • Anyone else having trouble napping? I’m not sure if it’s because I know my DD only naps for an hour 20 mins and I know that’s all I have so I spend the hour 20 mins thinking about it, but I can’t seem to fall asleep during the day no matter how tired I am...unless it’s sitting at my desk trying to work 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @bearmomma1 I’ve been having trouble falling asleep for about a week now.
  • @bearmomma1 I do everything I can so far NOT to nap. If I do I won't sleep at night. There will def be some unisom in my future. These night dreams have been crazy and every loud sound (shut the fuck up birds we know it's spring) wakes me up. Ugh.
  • I don’t have much going on. I knew I was pregnant because I started feeling light headed/ passing out and that’s a recurring theme with my pregnancies. My sense of smell has definitely heightened but I assume here in a few weeks the nausea will hit hard like it usually does!
  • @bartonolivia ugh, I had the worst lightheaded ness/ dizziness with my third and that is one thing I’m definitely not looking forward to this time. Every time I’d walk I’d feel like I needed something to hold onto :( driving and changing lanes was a killer too.
  • Anyone else concerned because they haven't had symptoms yet? I had bad nausea with my 1st pregnancy early on as well as heightened sense of smell and sore nipples. I never thought I'd wish for nausea, but at least I'd know I'm still pregnant. I'm 6w today so I'm hoping a few minor symptoms show up soon to ease my nerves.
  • @chapenroe I know the saying "every pregnancy is different" gets old but it's true! I had morning sickness with my daughter and zero ms with my son. I actually found that with both pregnancies I had very minimal/mild "symptoms" at all. But the lack of morning sickness doesn't mean anything. I know it's hard when we're so early - I love when the baby is big enough to feel kicks to ease my mind.

My gosh, is clumsiness a pregnancy symptom?? In the past 3 days alone I've dropped and shattered a drinking glass, dumped a full container of dry cereal, dropped a stuffed pepper that splattered all over the floor, and dumped an ice tray after filling it up. Good grief. I dread what else I'll break.

  • @chapenroe I know it can be very disconcerting but there are plenty who genuinely have no symptoms. If you still have any tests you should have super dark lines by now if you want to ease your mind. I have the cheapie wondfos and I will continue to use one every morning until I run out or have my first US :)

    @JBcakes08 you're not alone! I am forgetting/dropping EVERYTHING.
  • @willashbaby, great advice. I took another test and 2 dark lines appeared.

@JBcakes08 a little montage played in my head of a woman destroying all those things :) Thank you for the laugh.
  • I have just been having nausea and heartburn all day.  The only cure for it is to eat something and then I feel sick about a half hour later.  Also must wear a bra!!  I am normally a no bra at home girl, but the ouch is real over here.
  • I started having some random throwing up the last few days and then I legit and exhausted half the day and take naps as soon as DS does. My boobs are randomly sore but nothing major.
    DS born 2016
  • @jbal918. From past history, I know that I can go from hungry to throwing up super quickly.  So as soon as I start to feel hungry, I try to eat something small (a few crackers or small piece of fruit etc). My stomach just does not do well being empty.  Maybe that will help you.  I feel the crazy tired as well.  I am unpacking our new house and I do a box and then crash for a while.
  • I can't eat anything without wanting to throw up. I can drink water, though. I'm still searching for things that I can eat. It's not looking good at this point. I had half a meat ball, and one chip for lunch and ended up in bed for 3 hours afterwards. Dinner wasn't much better.  Maybe I'll try a bagel tomorrow....

@helleebellee Same but as long as we can drink water we are good. With my last pregnancy i couldn't keep down water so my BP was very low and i kept fainting in the shower. Was so freaked out about the baby but she was thriving no problem. Easier with water though :)
  • K but has anyone been having diarrhoea? Its like its the new puking for me this time around. :/
  • @dobiemom11 That’s happened too! I woke up so hungry the other day I stared dry heaving and has to guzzle water quick! I can’t eat beef though because that’s made me sick twice now.

  • @jelososhervy I've had a few bouts!

  • @jbal918. I woke up in the middle of the night starving.  I had to convince myself to go back to sleep otherwise the whole house would have been up.  Once someone is up, the dog is up and it is game over.  I feel asleep for two hours on the couch this morning.  My husband was complaining about how tired he was.  He finished his meeting and I am just passed out on the couch.
  • Has anyone been losing weight?  I've lost about 4lbs in the last 3 weeks. I know it's fine for now since I was a little overweight pre-pregnancy and I'm attributing it to loss of appetite, no alcohol, and not eating out due to COVID.  I haven't been throwing up. I started measuring since I was overweight, have a small frame and I don't want to gain too much and risk macrosomia.

Anyone experience early weight loss before?  When did your weight start to increase again?
  • @jelososhervy yes, a few times. Hoping it eases soon.

@jbal918 maybe it’s time to stash a few snacks by your bed so you can eat MON without waking the dog.
  • @gh1219 I did with my son just from loss of appetite. Almost 20lbs my first trimester. I didn't even gain it all back by the time I delivered BUT I was very overweight so it wasn't an issue. I started regaining by week 20 and regained 15 of the 20 by delivery. After birth I was about 35lbs less than before I got pregnant (but again I was VERY overweight at that point).
  • @gh1219 Yes I lost weight during the 1st trimester of my first pregnancy: due to no alcohol and I had a lot of food aversions, especially come dinner time. I think I lost about 5-6 lbs. I don't own a scale now so I'm not quite sure how it's going currently, but I know I'm a lot less active than I was last time due to Covid and having a toddler that wears me out quickly.

  • anyone try anyone try lemon ginger or peppermint tea through the day? I find its keeping my nausea at bay with small meals too! I’ve actually gained a couple pounds already but I was pretty small to start with and have been eating a lot more healthy carbs than normal. I’m trying not to pay attention to my weight too much but just be intuitive and eat when I’m hungry and listen to my cravings!
  • I also want an everything bagel with LOTS of plain cream cheese. Normally lox is my jam - but just thinking about eating it makes me want to throw up. I'm avoiding opening the can of worms that eating a bagel will bring (i.e. then needing to eat one daily), but not sure how much longer I can hold out.... maybe I'll treat myself this weekend.
  • My husband just brought home 2 packages of bagels (one plain, one everything) and a huge tub of plain cream cheese. Now I know why I married him 😂

  • @BmcD2016 I think that was for @dobiemom11 but it works for me because I don’t want to wake DS lol
    DS born 2016
  • @BmcD2016. The dog and my husband came to bed super late, so I snuck out for some snacks without waking everyone up.  But bedside snacks might be necessary for weeknights.
  • @gh1219 yes. In my first pregnancy i lost 3 kg. Then only gained 7kg once 1st tri was over. Baby absolutely fine although on the tiny side when she was born. I was very afraid because I actually have always had a low BMI but my doctor assured me it's fine. Now I seem to have already lost 2 kg so we will see. Don't worry.
  • @gh1219 I lost 13lbs last pregnancy due to gestational diabetes and following it to a t. I’m plus size and although my doctor wasn’t excited about it, DS came out healthy and good!

  • I have no energy and just feel overall blah today and then cried because of it.

@gh1219 I have been losing which I'm a little surprised by. My first 2 pregnancies I started out pretty overweight both times. I was actively dieting/exercising when I got my BFP a couple weeks ago. I've started eating 3 meals a day (I wasn't doing that when I was trying to lose weight) but I'm trying to eat healthy and have some portion control. I was surprised this morning when I weighed and have continued to lose each week. I'm hoping I can start 2nd trimester at a healthy weight - it'll be my first pregnancy where I'm not overweight so that will be very different. I started out over 200 lbs with both prior pregnancies and gained about 80 lbs each time. If I can keep my weight in check this time I'll be ecstatic, it's so hard to lose.

ETA both my son and daughter were born at 10 lbs each (but healthy and I never had any BP problems or GD). If I'm able to keep my weight healthier this time around I'm curious to see if I have a smaller baby or if they'll be 10 lbs regardless!

  • Nausea and heartburn. The only things that help me right now are pretzels, red raspberry leaf tea, peppermint tea, and ginger tea.

Pelvic soreness. Heat helps. It isn't super intense but isn't comfortable.

Breast/nipple soreness. I'm wearing soft bras and trying to be extra careful lol

Super sense of smell. Avoiding stinky anything. The worst thing is meat and dog poop lol
  • @catmomma20 I’m exactly the same as you right now! But I’m finding even soft bras even make my nipples like tingly haha
  • Exhaustion hit like crazy today. I got up at 7 with DS then when DH came down at 10 I went back to bed and slept until 130. Now it’s not even 9 and I feel like I could go to bed now and sleep all night.
  • I feel car sick if I have to do anything that involves leaving the couch (nauseous, weak, sick feeling). Usually hits in the afternoon and sticks around the rest of the day if I try to move about. So thankful to be working from home during this!
  • @bearmomma1 - I feel the same way as your "mom of the year" comment. My first is 1yr 3mo and she just started to enjoy Disney movies. It is so helpful to know she's ok there if I need to take a shower or have some hobby time or just sit down. I take lots of photos (of her!) and it takes 1+hrs sometimes to save my favorites.

I'm 7weeks 1day with #2. I don't remember having so much nausea with my first. Eating carbs and drinking Simply Juices: Lemonade, Tropical, Fruit Punch, has helped me get through a work day. Getting the blood flowing with a 30-minute walk mid-day also helps.

Fighting off the sleepiness feels like a mental game. Some days, I take the hint to concede to a nap which means DH has to take a break from what he's doing.

  • I’m 4 weeks and 5 days and I have been having soo many headaches and dizziness. Also having nausea here and there but it’s mostly at night time. My boobs are slightly tender but nothing too bad. They were really sore and heavy and full before. Also I’m sooo tired all the time and have zero energy. I m always falling asleep and having naps when I can. I am ravenously hungry and all food tastes amazing right now lol.

@bkinn26 my goodness! You poor thing. What a scary time. I’m glad that you and the baby are doing ok.
  • I kept getting cramps last night if I turned Or stretched the wrong way. I think round ligament cramps? Should they be so prevalent so early? Ouch
