Re: April Symptoms

  • 6w2d here. During my 4th week I had a pretty bad constant headache and cramping. Week 5 I had a lot of nausea and sore/tender boobs. Ever since week 6 started my symptoms have mostly disappeared. I'm trying not to think too much about it. I have my first Dr appointment on Monday so I'll just be hoping for the best.

  • @bearmomma1 I hope your symptoms stay away for good! Did you have nausea with your first pregnancy?

I'm an early tester so I just crossed the four week mark, I think 4+1. Only thing going on is slightly sore boobs/tired AF after 5pm. Very similar to how I was with my son. I'm hoping that if this pregnancy is viable and continues that it'll be the same as it was with him. All I ever had was fatigue and that's fine by me, I'll take ALL the naps!

I had horrible morning sickness with DS and not having any yet makes me nervous but I just keep telling myself it’s early.
Edited to add - My boobs have been a little sore but that’s it which I didn’t have with DH so that is a plus really.

I've had some on and off cramping and fatigue - not sure how much of the fatigue is real and how much of that is in my head. Some dizziness upon standing but that's probably because I suck at drinking water. I had morning sickness with my daughter but not with my son, but it didn't start until after 8 weeks so I'll be on the lookout for that. I feel like my "early" pregnancy symptoms are always very mild. I didn't take a test this time around for several days just because I felt so normal.
ETA I think I'm just shy of 5 weeks.

  • I only took a pregnancy test early because I vomited Out of no where lol I have been dealing with slight on and off nausea since and I’ve been so so so tired. I’ve been napping almost every day and that’s very hard to do when you work 12 hour shifts lol I’ve also been craving carbs like a mad woman (I was on a low carb diet prior to conceiving) so I’ve been indulging in some healthy choices like wild rice and sweet potatoes and regular potatoes mmmm
  • This is baby #1 and I'm 4w4d and have been extremely thirsty, and have kind of lost my appetite - things I normally eat don't excite me right now. I've had two random bouts of lightheadedness, but they quickly went away. Was having some very light cramping that started last weekend/early this week but its been very dull so I've mostly gotten used to it and don't really notice it anymore but its still there - almost like what it feels like a few days before my period is going to start, but not as intense.
  • I am having some light cramping and sore boobs. The last three days or so I have had a little nausea starting in the evenings. Kind of hope it stays this way but I’m sure the nausea will kick in harder in a week or so based on my previous pregnancies.
  • Also forgot about the slight cramping/random sharp jolts of pain (kind of remind me of round ligament pain) and the INSANE lucid dreams. I had all of this last time too. I'm worried about more abdominal pain later on since I've had two abdominal surgeries including a hernia repair since I had my son. Time will tell!
  • Hi everyone 2nd time mom here I’m 4 weeks 3 days today. I knew at 3 weeks 3 days haha. Had a crazy headache and my most crazy symptom right now is just confusion and dizziness. Due December 14 i want a girl so bad
  • Oh and extremely vivid dreams I’m hoping this is a easy one for me lol knock on wood
  • Upset stomach - food helps.  Intermittent dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, fatigue, pelvic (?) pulling ? (not pain), teeth pain, giant tender breasts, and... omg my favorite so far... my breasts LEAKED already
I did not know this was a thing until late pregnancy... I am so horrified.
It was just one time BL clear fluid small amount but STILL wtf.  Ordered those little breast pads just in case for whenever we are allowed to go in public again
     :D  :D
  • Honestly, it feels like someone is constantly punching my boobs. God they are so sore. I get occasional waves of nausea as well. I had 0 symptoms with my first two so this is new to me. I'm exhausted. But I know that's a combo of pregnancy + being home all day with my two kids. I had also planned on cutting down my coffee intake to the suggested 200mg or less per day.. but I seem to be having a bit of an aversion to it so I haven't been drinking any at all.

I'm almost 6 weeks and currently experiencing:
    -sore, heavy-feeling boobs
    -increased vaginal fluid
-fatigue during the day but trouble falling asleep at night
    -more thirsty than usual
    -mild nausea
-mood swings (a certain co-worker's incompetence is WAY more irritating than usual- I have visions of driving to his house and bitch slapping him- I should meditate or something)

  • I had a serious food aversion last night. Capers, YUCK! We got the chicken piccata from Trader Joe's. I normally love it but the flavor of the capers was a NOPE for me.
  • Hard to know what is the quarantine,  depression (went off meds--not sure I needed them actually), or pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy, unplanned--so this all feels so sudden-- 6 weeks along and:
    - CONSTANT hunger pangs with nausea; no food is appetizing but I have been eating my weight in crackers and oatmeal, which does not help
    - sore boobs
-fatigue all day but trouble sleeping
    - general ennui, feeling down
    - headaches and cramps

@Magda2014 I feel the same way with my fatigue/sleeplessness.  Not sure if it is pregnancy or quarantine related or both!
@willashbaby That stinks to have food aversions to things you normally like. So far, I haven't had any food aversions.  Salty foods sound good to me- send those capers my way

I just had a cup of Ginger Aid tea (made by Traditional Medicinals) and it gave me some relief from the nausea.

Warning: the box says to contact your healthcare practitioner if you are pregnant.  I spoke to the nurse/midwife yesterday and she says all the herbal teas say that just to cover their butt. I gave her a list of herbs, she looked them up and called me back.  Ginger is obviously fine. But this tea also contains Lemon myrtle leaf which I failed to ask her about.  I will call her on Monday, but I figured the occasional cup won't hurt until I have a chance to call her.  I won't drink a lot of it until I get all the ingredients cleared. I also might try to get some regular ginger root at the store and make my own tea.
  • @dancingtreepose yes!!! My mood swings were my first symptom. They’re also my PMS symptom so I thought my partner was just being his usual level of annoying

Today is the first day my boobs have felt very full. My nipples also DO NOT want anything to touch them. I’ve been craving red meat and I’m hungry a lot more often. I’m super emotional and I’m having hot flashes. I have a little bit of cramps, bloating and my lower back feels like it’s breaking. I also pee a lot more often. With my last pregnancy nausea hit around week 5 with a vengeance so I’m not looking forward to that. But also *TW* with my history of loss the nausea also reassured me *end TW*.
  • @dancingtreepose you can have em! Tonight was steak, rice pilaf, and asparagus, much better!
  • I had those with my first!! Basically like you are drugged up on NyQuil lol. I totally forgot about that until I read your comment!! 5 weeks+1 today, and so far very minimal symptoms.... But I know those dreams are coming!!
  • @bkinn26 wow what a scary experience!! Glad you and baby are ok!

  • @jbal918 @bearmomma1 I am thankful and relieved too 💕
  • This was me last time and this time. You need carbs to grow a healthy baby brain. Eat the carbs :)
  • @tryingktogku yes, yes, yes on the carbs.  Lots of toast, crackers, and tortilla chips for me right now.  I tried to add kale to my pasta last night and the smell of the kale almost made me lose it.  Good news is my nausea is better today than the past 3 days.
  • @willashbaby when did the cravings stop for you with your previous pregnancy!

@dancingtreepose I’m glad I’m not the only one! I haven’t had carbs like this in YEARS because I’ve always maintained a good body weight by eating relatively low carb and now I’m slightly worried I’m going to gain a little too much weight in this first trimester because it’s all I can seem to eat without wanting to throw up lol
  • @tryingktogku lasted until about 11/12 weeks. After that I went back to "normal".
  • @bkinn26 My OB has be on progesterone as a precaution. I had DS with an RE so I wasn’t sure because I didn’t take it last time. He said it’s to keep the pregnancy healthy. I’m thinking of you!

  • Earlier in this thread I posted that an herbal tea called "Ginger Aid" was helping with the nausea.  Well this morning I spoke with one of the nurse/midwives at my OBGYN practice and she says that the ingredient Lemon Myrtle Leaf is on the no-no list.  So don't get that tea!  Luckily I only had 1 cup on Saturday and 1 cup on Sunday which she says should be fine but don't drink any more.
Also, she says chicory root is on the no-no list too.  This is a bummer since it's in a lot of fruity teas, like Raspberry Zinger from Celestial Seasonings, my favorite tea.  No more Raspberry Zinger for awhile!
  • I can officially add constipation to my list. BOOOOOOOOO.
  • @willashbaby I’ve been putting flax seed in my smoothies and it’s helped a lot with that annoying symptom!
  • @bearmomma1 I love that picture!
  • Agree with all above ^^^^ incredible cravings for bagels with cream cheese
