  • EDD/W+D: 4/14, 32+6

    Team pink/blue/green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): celery

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: ice cream. Feeling slight nausea in the symptoms. Don't sleep well at all, so I have to nap during the day when I can to catch up

Upcoming appts: BPP ultrasound Tuesday and NST test Friday

Rants/Raves/Questions: Anyone have a NST test and know what it entails? I had the BPP ultrasounds last pregnancy, but not the NSTs

    Team pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): cauliflower or fits on top of a vinyl record

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: no big cravings this week. Feeling less hungry, which i'm surprised about but I think there's just so little space in there! @Kathryn0903 agree that sleeping is a chore!

Upcoming appts: next week, regular check-up.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant - Have a cold this week, ugh! I think pregnancy makes colds 100000x worse! But being off today to rest gave me time to catch up on the Bump, haha. Rave- Getting just so excited for him to be here!

@korthouse congrats on the casting! that's exciting!
  • @gingers19 Yes! Having a cold while pregnant is the worst!!! I found I was able to tough through it during the day but at night was the worst because I jus couldn't sleep easily with my nose so plugged up. I found chamomile tea with lots of honey to be the most helpful and just generally drinking lots of fluids, especially warm ones like teas or soup broths (spicy ones helped clear my sinuses right out). Hope you feel better soon and thanks for the congrats!
  • EDD/W+D: April 14: 33W

    Team pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): pineapple (yum)

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: still loving fruit! Actually bought three pineapples this past weekend because the comparison made me crave them 😂

Upcoming appts: next Friday. Meeting with two doctors I haven’t yet seen as well. I know one of them, she delivered my last baby but it’ll be good to see her again since it’s been about 2.5 years.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I’m just feeling huge and uncomfortable all the time. I realized at my last appointment that I gave birth to my daughter at the current weight I’m at now...so I’m a little down about that. He’s measuring on the bigger side but still, hard pill to swallow.

    Team pink/blue/green:
    Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): butternut squash

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: I wouldn’t say I’ve had cravings, but the Cadbury mini eggs are out and I can’t stop eating them. That’s not a pregnancy thing though, that’s just me. As for symptoms, I get full pretty quickly.

    Upcoming appts:
    Tomorrow with midwife

Rants/Raves/Questions: I had my baby shower this weekend and it turned out so amazing! There was a little snafu with my amazon registry though, where it wasn’t allowing people to purchase things and marked them as being bought from elsewhere when it wasn’t, so there is a bunch of stuff I didn’t get that says has been purchased, which is annoying.

  • EDD/W+D: 31+3

    Team pink/blue/green: green

Baby is the size of a(n): asparagus

    Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: chocolate milk and milkshakes

Upcoming appts: specialist in the am tmw and midwife in pm

Rants/Raves/Questions: this weekend I felt more energy/less uncomfortable than I had in months... then totally crashed last night (woke up every hour)/today. Still vomiting suddenly several times a week too, which drives me crazy. Have been doing kegels and am FTM but think I'm occasionally leaking small amounts of urine which I find totally demoralizing. Love feeling baby move tho 😍
  • @emibemily I'm with you on the leaking and the awkwardness of it. I did invest in some period panties to help with that but it's still icky.
  • EDD/W+D: 31+5 CS scheduled 4/16

    Team pink/blue/green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Fanny Pack (although I’m measuring 2 weeks ahead)

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: Still loving all the food!
Been feeling lightheaded with ringing in ears. I sat in my chair most of the morning at work because I was afraid I was going to pass out.

Upcoming appts: next appt isn’t until March 19th

Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant-I am finishing my masters and was scheduled to take an on site six day course in January and it got cancelled, then the replacement class for March got cancelled, and now I have to do the online course which doesn’t finish until 4/20 and when I spoke with the professor about working ahead she did not sound very understanding.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • @Brags0607 You would think your prof would be understanding considering they've cancelled the class twice on you and you know you will have your baby before the class is finished. Sorry for that frustration!
  • @Brags0607 that's frustrating. Just be aware that if your professor gives you trouble there is title ix law that says professors can't discriminate based on pregnancy.

Baby is the size of a(n): football, zucchini, 3 stack of TV dinners

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms:  Out of left field at Target the other day I saw a box of those Drakes cherry pies and could barely control myself.  I'm surprised I made it home before I ate one.  But an everyday craving is fruit, or fruity drinks like limeade, OJ, pineapple.

    Upcoming appts: Thursday

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm super moody.  I'm all over the place.  Poor DH.

@Brags0607 DH is doing his masters through a program at work that works with a local university.  It feels like a lot of these professors aren't very accommodating. In his current class one of the younger guys just had his first baby and the professor wouldn't let the guy change the date of a presentation, so he did it through webex from the hospital room with the baby crying in the background.

@coaster102516 I'm with you on the weight gain concerns.  My goal was to not again anymore this around than I did with DD2 and that weight is quickly approaching.  I'm hoping running out of room for food will slow down my eating.

    @korthouse congrats!

@emibemily I've been feeling less uncomfortable and having more energy too!  I think it's a combo of finally finding a pillow fort situation that makes sleep comfortably most of the time, yoga, and the urge to nest.
  • @Brags0607 that’s frustrating. I’d recommend checking if your university has any new parent accommodations that perhaps the professor is not aware of. I am in a PhD program and my semester doesn’t end until May. The university has a program where new parents get 8 weeks of accommodations so you can participate as much or as little as you desire without penalty during that time. My professors have thankfully been accommodating, but didn’t know about this policy until I brought it up to them. Might be worth looking into - sometimes the communication between university policy and classroom level professors is missing.
  • @emibemily @korthouse Add me to the embarrassing leaking club! It’s one of my top 3 most hated “symptoms” of pregnancy because demoralizing is the perfect word!

@Brags0607 I’m so sorry! I’m pretty sure that is some sort of illegal - I’m really sorry you’re dealing with that.

@kfrob I had an out of left field ring dings purchase at target yesterday....barely made it to the car before stuffing it in my face. And now the box is in my car so DH can’t see. Oops.
  • @literatureandink your shower was so beautiful!
  • @literatureandink Your shower looks dreamy and what an appropriate theme! Now I want little tea treats!
  • @babyrummom So gorgeous!! I can’t even handle the owl and the porcupine!! 😍
  • EDD/W+D: April 11 33w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): ferret

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: Still craving sugar, but trying not to eat too much of it.

Upcoming appts: Standard OB on Thursday.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I am insanely busy right now. Not sure if everyone at work just realized I’m going on leave soon or what, but I’m struggling to keep up. I’ll be back when I can to catch up on this thread.

@literatureandink @babyrummom I’m so impressed by your gorgeous showers.

  • @literatureandink Your shower was gorgeous! What a cute theme. :)
@korthouse Congrats on the casting! I'm having to wait until after baby to record a demo and I'm a little disappointed because with my class I feel like I've built all this great momentum and then I'm going to have to put it on hold for the next few months. All worth it though, just tough when you have major life goals overlapping and have to prioritize.
@KFrob I feel you on being moody. I've definitely snapped a lot at DH and my mom lately.
@babyrummom ugh that's so frustrating about your amazon registry. :(

  • @littleredm congratulations on the new house!!! I can only imagine how exhausting it is but I’m so glad you now can get started on your nursery!
  • @mercury94 same thing is happening to me at work! I’m technically working for four more weeks (assuming baby girl stays put until she’s supposed to) but I’m only going into the office for the next two weeks. It’s like everyone else is just noticing I’m pregnant and leaving soon!
  • @littleredm I hear you on the strangeness of putting things on hold. The lucky thing is that we can go back to voice work so much sooner than if it were performing on stage or on camera!
  • @Kathryn0903 I’m also curious about what a NST involves!

@korthouse Congratulations on the radio spot! That is so exciting!

@coaster102516 I’m a FTM, but I lost weight before getting pregnant, so I was really hoping not to pass my heaviest weight, but I just did. With at least four or five more weeks of weight gain ahead, I’m just trying to concentrate on being healthy!

@babyrummom So frustrating about your registry! Can you contact Amazon customer service to get it sorted so you can still use your completion discount on the items you need? Also, your shower was darling! Thank you for sharing pictures! I love the owl so much!!

@Brags0607 That is so frustrating! As others have said, the school/your professor has to accommodate you. If necessary, talk to the department chair or the academic dean.

@literatureandink I literally laughed out loud at “a small planet”. Your literary shower was gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!

@littleredm Congratulations on the house - it much be such a relief to be moved. Wishing you well in all the unpacking!

@mercury94 Ugh. I hear you! I’m also struggling at work. I have made my plan of how to tackle all of my most important projects before leaving, and I told someone today that I’m going to post the list on my door and tell anyone who wants to add something, that they have to choose what isn’t going to get done! I was only sort of kidding.

Baby is the size of a(n): pineapple, butternut squash

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: No cravings but I’d say I have slight food aversions again. Just not a big appetite .. but I go from not being hungry to completely starving with no in between. @babyrummom Im totally with you on the mini eggs. I think I posted about them last week. 😂

Upcoming appts: Chiropractor tomorrow for the first time and prenatal Friday.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Baby is still breech boo .. I’ve been trying it all! I’ve also been having lots of groin pain. It hurts whenever I need to roll over in bed! Hoping the Chiro can help tomorrow (and also help with the breech situation). Rave - Finally got my stroller and car seat! The nursery is almost finished just need some decor for the walls!

@kathryn0903 I can answer your question about NSTs (since I do these constantly on people). It stands for Non stress test. Basically you get the 2 external monitors (Ultrasound one to listen for baby’s heartbeat and a “toco” which is a pressure sensor for contractions) hooked up to your belly for a minimum of 20 minutes. The monitor records and prints the heart rate and any contractions picking up. We look that the baby’s baseline heart heart rate is within a normal range (110-160), that there is normal “variability” within the heart rate which is basically the fluctuation beat to beat, Atleast 2 good accelerations in the heart rate and no decelerations. It sometimes takes longer to get what we want to see due to the baby being in a sleep cycle (decreased variability and no accelerations) which is normal for a certain time frame. If you have a snack before that helps and laying on your side usually gives the best reading! If the NST is normal then it’s just reassuring that all is well!

    @literatureandink your shower looked amazing!!

@korthouse what brand of period panties did you get? I’m not having bladder leaking issues but I was wanting to get some of these for post partum!
  • @mandarenee898 I’ve been thinking about you this week! My colleague’s twins came at 34 weeks, so it might not be long now! Sending you good energy for your time in the hospital/on bed rest. You got this!
  • EDD/W+D: April 12 / 33+3

Baby is the size of a(n): celery

Cravings/Aversions/Symptoms: No specific cravings or aversions, I'm just hungry All. The. Time.

Upcoming appts: I have a biophysical profile scan appointment on Friday. I'll be having those twice a week from here on out. (See rant below.)

Rants/Raves/Questions: Of course I jinxed myself last week when I mentioned this has been sort of a breeze pregnancy. Ended up in triage Sunday with visual disturbances, dizziness, and suddenly high blood pressure. (My bp has been better than ever throughout this pregnancy up until this point.) After being monitored for several hours and labs and everything, they sent me home with instructions to begin twice weekly biophysical profiles and extra checkups (again). First BPP was today (yesterday? Tuesday.) and baby boy passed with flying colors but my bp was still high so now I'm on meds again and I get to do a 24 hour urine catch. I'm thankful that it's not immediately looking like preeclampsia and that we're being proactive with the monitoring, but also bummed that things just got more complicated. Other things have been going crazy in my life and it was nice having at least one thing going smoothly.

@Kathryn0903 In my experience, NST's have usually involved 2 sensor bands being placed around the belly to measure the baby's heart rate in relation to his or her activity. Sometimes they've also given me a button to push when I felt kicks or jabs too.

@literatureandink I love your shower theme! The pictures are beautiful

@jenabary That grazing table looks amazing!!

@mandarenee898 Thinking of you and your little ones!
  • @mandarenee898 Thinking of you and your babies and looking forward to updates when you're able.

@kath1414 They're by Knix, who actually make a postpartum specific one as well
  • @mandarenee898 Thinking of you. Hope those babies stay in there as long as they can.

@mandarenee898 I’m keeping you and those babies in my thoughts!! Stay nice and relaxed in the hospital and let everyone treat you like the queen you are! ❤️
  • @jenabary Strongly considering using your grazing table photo as inspo for my hubby for my dream first post-baby meal 😂 Glad you had such a wonderful shower!
  • @mandarenee898 thinking of you and your babies!! Keep us posted when you can!!

@coaster102516 I went to acupuncture about 5 times and have been doing the moxibustion! So far no luck ! I was reading yesterday on the spinning babies page that moxibustion often has the most success between 35-36 weeks so I’ll keep trying it!
