Re: Check-in w/o Feb. 17th
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We'll find out
Baby is the size of a(n): PEACH
Upcoming appointments: An Ultrasound Friday(21st) and Monday(24th) I'll have a big care plan and lab draw appointment.
How are you feeling?: Right now, so much better. I had my very long awaited first OB appointment today and got to hear a beautiful heartbeat. I've still got some nausea coming and going but in general I'm so much better.
Raves/Rants: My husband was an angel today with moving around his day so I could get into the doctor's appointment. He took our kid to the lego store while I was in my appointment to keep her busy. I also caved and ordered a pregnancy pillow on Amazon and it got here Saturday. I've slept so much better since it got here.. I now don't wake up to toss and turn on my hips and I only wake up when I have to pee.
Questions: N/A
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? : I listen to a podcast called "An Acquired Taste" weekly, the 2 girls who run it are so sweet and positive and amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone I meet looking for a podcast where girls are body positive and open about mental illness while still managing to talk about fun things. I also listen to "This Might Get Weird" and "Behind the Bastard." Behind the Bastard's creator has a very dark sense of humor.. and this podcast isn't always for the faint of heart, but there are some really great episodes about some very infamous people where you learn all kinds of weird things. You can check out all three of these listed podcasts on Spotify for free. I'm looking forward to reading everyone elses podcast recommendations too!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green (...I think? I'm wavering a bit after hearing about @ziggymama06's cute cupcake reveal and some of your struggles with gender disappointment. We'll see. Team Green for now.)
Upcoming appointments: NT scan tomorrow, next OB appointment in March
How are you feeling? Good. I've started working out more and eating more salads, and both agree with me. I did get sort of light-headed woozy feeling for a few hours yesterday afternoon which was no fun. Not sure if it was pregnancy-related or not.
Raves/Rants: I'm planning a "state of the union" meeting for this weekend to sit down with DH over pizza and hash out our financial picture once baby #2 is here, discuss upcoming trips and vacation days for the rest of 2020, prioritize friends we want to make sure we get together with over the next couple months, etc. We do this not nearly often enough and I love it.
Questions: N/A
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? The new season of "Better Call Saul" (the Breaking Bad prequel) just dropped on Netflix and I'd forgotten how much I enjoy that show. I also really enjoy the Death, Sex and Money podcast -- can't remember how I came across it, but the host may have been a guest on The Longest Shortest Time. Speaking of, if anyone can recommend a podcast that scratches a similar itch (stories and interviews focused primarily on early parenthood/pregnancy/reproductive issues etc.) I am all ears!
@RedBaramid I'm so glad it was a successful appointment!! And an ultrasound so soon I'll definitely check out your podcast recommendations; An Acquired Taste sounds great.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue 💙
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado
Upcoming appointments: the 26th
How are you feeling? Mostly good. My pelvis is starting to let me know that I need to modify my run pace a little more. I pushed my pace a little at my race Saturday and my pelvis reminded me she’s got an avocado in there and I’m not in my 20s anymore.
Raves/Rants: It’s been so hot. Like mid to upper 80s. No, thanks, weather. This is supposed to be our break from this madness.
Questions: None.
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me )
I have a lot of sound aversions (it’s a really miserable problem) and talk radio style things like podcasts bother me so much. I wish I could get past it but I can’t. But I did just finish both seasons of Good Girls and really liked it. I am planning to get into my birthing books...once I find where the heck I stored them.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Peach
Upcoming appointments: I finally got round to booking my 16w midwife appointment which is in two weeks time.
How are you feeling? I'm feeling good, less tired, the morning sickness seams to have gone (touch wood). I'm so glad as with DS I had morning sickness until 19w. Though I still have a very persistent cough that I've had for over 2w and I've had rib pain today which has been awful when I've had a coughing fit.
Raves/Rants: Raves — The building work has finally started! Rants — After storm Dennis it looks like were building a pool not an extension.
GTKY: I rewatched Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, I've previously listened to the book on audible too, it really is a genre of it's own but I would categorize it as historical fantasy. I've also been listening to the true crime podcast Redhanded.
EDD/weeks+days: 16 weeks
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado
Upcoming appointments: Monthly prenatal with my doctor Feb 25 where I’ll be referred to a obgyn. I hope then we’ll be able to schedule our next ultrasound. FX
How are you feeling? Pretty good! I’m trying really hard not to stress myself out over certain things. I also have a fear, for some reason, my baby isn’t growing?! My bump is definitely there now and the odd time I get feelings that i can feel baby moving.
Im getting restless legs at night, I found a great looking YouTube video for bedtime stretches I’m going to tryout.
Raves/Rants: I wish MH and I had separate rooms most nights lol I love sleeping alone!! I definitely appreciate when he’s working nights so I can spread right out and hog all the pillows!
Questions: n/a
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? I’m a sucker for crappy reality tv, I binge watched the new Netflix show “Love Is Blind” - wow. lol I can’t wait for Thursday’s new episodes haha!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink
Baby is the size of a(n): donut - yum!!
Upcoming appointments: at 17.5 wks
How are you feeling? more energy finally, but still nauseous and vomiting. horrible headaches. starting to get into nesting mode but don't quite have the energy to actually do anything about it yet.
Raves/Rants: I had the day off today, but our nanny didn't so I got a much needed break from work and parenting. I don't really have any particular rants today.
Questions: Any tips for telling your boss you are pregnant? For weeks I've been saying I'm going to do it and then I keep putting it off. I think next week is the week. Maybe. She has kids too, and we get along fine, but we aren't particularly close.
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? I binged Spinning Out on Netflix this weekend and highly recommend. I'm reading Michelle Obama's book Becoming (I know, I'm late to that party) and I'm not very far in (see above about Netflix binging), but it's really good so far.
EDD/weeks + days: 8/27 12+5
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: green
Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a kit kat
Upcoming appointments: not until a routine check-up in March
How are you feeling? Good! Sleepy and lazy, but I physically feel good.
Raves/Rants:
Rave- 4 day weekend! And naps! Also we made a few phone calls to family and friends this weekend to share the news!
Rant- sleep has been elusive. Lots of tossing and turning.
Questions: For anyone still nursing another child or anyone that did nurse their little ones while pregnant, did you do anything in particular nutrition wise. I've been a little paranoid about how my body is giving a lot right now to my growing baby plus my son who still nurses morning and night. I started a calcium supplement and am going to start smoothies in the morning to make sure I'm getting some vitamins. I'm just not ready to wean my son. I want to at least get through the last little bit of flu season and go from there.
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me )
Not really... Just binge watching sitcoms that I've already seen. Brooklyn 99 and Parks and Recreation. They are always a safe go to for background noise.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue
Baby is the size of a(n): a CD
Upcoming appointments: Had a quick visit today to hear the HB. The next one is the anatomy scan in 4 weeks!
How are you feeling? My first trimester symptoms are pretty much gone, so I’m still so wiped out. I think that that’s just how life is going to be for the foreseeable future and I just need to accept it.
Raves/Rants: Rave: DH got me a body pillow and a big bag of Jelly Bellies (my favorite) for Valentines Day and I just felt so seen and loved.
Rant: today I had to juggle working and parenting at the same time because DS’s school was closed. Nothing like trying to work and take care of my child at the same time to make you feel like I’m failing at both. I’ve finally gotten into a good groove as a working mom where I feel decent at both most of the time, but I really need that separation of my mom life and my work life to feel effective.
Questions: nope!
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? I’ve been watching mostly Schitt’s Creek for the past month or so and it’s just delightful. The only podcast I listen to regularly is Throwing Shade, where two comedians talk about feminist issues and LGBTQ issues and make it funny but also really informative.
@roo_baby I did a book on tape (my first one!) for Michelle Obama's book. It had to go back to the library before I finished, but maybe I'll put it on hold again. I love hearing about her childhood and college years.
@riatortillaxo I've never watched Brooklyn99 but was thinking of adding it to my Netflix queue for maternity leave. Do you recommend it?
@gomillis that co-working space sounds WILD. Do you co-work normally? I work from home and co-work occasionally but lately when I want to get out of the house I'll go to our local natural food store to work lol. They have good wifi, comfy space, and so many good food options. And I love Schitts Creek... so funny and warm! Have you seen Derry Girls? I watched it once I finished SC and it scratched the same itch for me.
EDD/weeks+days: 8/7; 15w3d
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Orange
Upcoming appointments: next Wednesday... can't wait. My anxiety has flared up the past few days, can't quite pinpoint why, but I think it's a combination of symptoms mellowing out and it having been a while since my last appointment. I know that things are almost certainly alright, but will be good to go and hear a strong heartbeat
How are you feeling? Besides the anxiety I've mostly been okay. I can actually stay up past 8pm these days, so that's a nice change!
Raves/Rants: Rant: Rant: Like a lot of y'all I've been dealing with frequent headaches. I really hate them (and find it hard to concentrate/do much else when I have one) and it's frustrating that there isn't much I can do about it. Rave: Heading to Palm Springs on Thursday for a min-vacation. It's my busy season at work, so not the best timing, but so excited to go lay in the sun for a few days.
Questions: Any Palm Springs recommendations? Does anyone have any pregnancy-safe recommendations for treating headaches?
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? Besides Death, Sex, and Money and Forever35, I've been listening to a lot of Pod Save America recently... might be good for my health to not listen to so many news-y shows right now haha.
I'm reading (and loving) Birth Without Fear. I'm hoping to have an unmedicated birth, but I love that she really emphasizes that it's not about the type of birth you have, but whether or not you feel like your voice was heard and that you were treated with respect during the process. So far I've just read the pregnancy and birthing chapters, but looking forward to reading the postpartum sections too. I love to read but have had a hard time focusing since I got pregnant, so I'm looking forward to our vacation and hope I get back into my reading groove.

Babies are the size of lemons 🍋 🍋
Upcoming appointments: March 9 for a scan (it’s extra just because of the twin situation) and we should find out genders!
How are you feeling? Overall better. I still have nausea and extreme but it continues to improve. I think RLP has started though and it’s painful!
Raves/Rants: rant: this stupid pregnancy acne and the inability to use anything helpful on it. I think this was my rave also last week.Superficial and first world problem- 100%. Rave: DH is just the best during pregnancy. He handles a lot and never complains. I just really love him.
Questions: nope
GTKY: I’m a huge audible fan. I just finished “I know everything” by Matthew Farrell. It was a decent psychological thriller.

How are you feeling? Okay, tired. But kinda nervous that the baby is okay. I lost my footing while carrying DD earlier, but I didn't fall, but I just can't shake that I want to feel baby moving...
Raves/Rants: see randoms. DD has been up with me most of the night, ai have to get to work here shortly, and I'm friggin exhausted.
Questions:
GTKY: not much lately, but last pregnancy I listened to Fearfree Childbirth
@maelove So excited for you to find out the sex of your twins! That is so exciting. I went through a phase when I was younger convinced my parents were lying to me and I was a twin (my twins name was Stacy ).

Baby is the size of a(n): Grande Iced Coffee
Upcoming appointments: Next Monday
How are you feeling? I. Feel. Great! I've found all the 2nd trimester glory I have my energy back, no more nausea, and the appetite has slightly improved.
Raves/Rants: We had friends visit over the weekend and they motivated us to really clean our house and do a few minor home improvements. When we were done I was so impressed with how our house looked and it made me so happy! We recently did some major remodeling in our livingroom and still mid-decorating for the space. It just felt good to have everything come together since this friend hasn't seen the update.
Questions:
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? PODCAST: I am a weird nerd, but I like "This Podcast Will Kill You". They talk about communicable diseases, viruses, etc. But it's ran by two female post-docs' and they make cocktails (called quarentini's) so they made it interesting and not dry. When I feel like creeping myself out... I'll listen to "And That's Why We Drink". That one is about paranormal stuff but again, I like the hosts. WATCHING: RHONJ, Good Girls, Schitt's Creek, Spy Games, Mind Hunters
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out on April 1st!
Baby is the size of a(n): Peach or baby Chicken
Upcoming appointments: Regular OB appointment on Friday!
How are you feeling?: Still nauseous 90% of the day. But daytime sleepiness is going away!
Raves/Rants: Every thing hurts literally all the time. Also I have felt baby movements which feels SO weird as I had an anterier placenta with my DS and could only feel him on the outside latter on. Also I just want an extra large coffee.
Questions: Anyone else have movement?
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? : I mostly am stuck watching the How to Train your Dragon movies but I did just finish The Adventures of Sabrina part 3!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: team pink
Baby is the size of a(n): height of a credit card
Upcoming appointments: early March
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Feeling like I should start exercising again 😬

GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me )
currently listening to Your Own Backyard. It’s creepy true crime and takes place close to where I live in California. For parenthood I recommend Janet Landsbury Unruffled podcast. I’m loving all these recommendations!
@BusinessWife I’m sure all is well in there. Hope you feel some wiggles today to put you at ease.
@emiliadkay Eek... Sorry to make you doubt your team green decision mama!! I wish I had the willpower to do that.
@BusinessWife Aww I'm sure baby is ok, they are very well protected in there. Don't worry girl.

Upcoming appointments: Today!! Meeting with the genetic counselor and having the 3d u/s. Can't wait to see baby girl!
How are you feeling? Each week is getting better. I still feel nausea sometimes and the fatigue is lingering, but definite improvements. I worked out twice this weekend, yay!
Raves/Rants: Working from home this am so still in my jammies. Had a great weekend celebrating Valentine's Day with MH and Galentine's with some girlfriends... I shared the news with the girls and they were all so excited! It's starting to feel a bit more real. Rant: Saw some of MHs fam over the weekend then had lunch with my in-laws and his aunt and uncle and shared the news with them. His aunt said she had a feeling because I'm glowing (in a cute, sweet way). Later on my MIL said that everyone knows because they just look at me. This is the third time she has commented on my appearance. The first was when she asked if ppl were commenting on how I'm gaining weight. I told MH that I don't understand why she wants to make me feel bad. I've never been happier in my life and she just wants to rain on my parade. He thinks it's bc if she says that everyone already knows that we'll agree to let them share the news. I'm not buying it. If she makes a comment again, I'm totally going to say something... Sorry this got a bit lengthy!
Questions: Those of you sleeping with body pillows... which one are you using? I always sleep with a "normal" body pillow but would like to upgrade to a pg one soon. TIA!
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me... I feel so old as I have never listened to a podcast! lol... I listen to audiobooks that I rent through the library... but I haven't since become preggo. I love Schitts Creek! Started watching McBillions and The Outsider on HBO... recently binged Ozark and MadMen. One of my fave books to read/re-read is Gone with the Wind... Super long, but I love it.

How are you feeling? Heartburn is killing me. It gets so bad that I feel sick and I can't eat. Hopefully my dr will have a better solution, because I am dying.
Raves/Rants: Rant: I am so tired. Ds2 isnt sleeping and it's making me super crabby. I feel like the worst mom ever because I'm so tired and I feel like all I do is yell. I have no idea how I'm going to survive bringing a new baby in all this chaos.
Questions:
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me ) Do H and I are watching the Witcher and I freaking LOVE IT! I don't really do podcasts because I always have the kids, so if you like kid's music, then I got you covered, lol. I read a lot of fantasy novels, my favorite author right now is Shane Silvers. Everything I've read by him is gold and his characters and worlds are amazing!
@cornichonmam I feel you on the coughing misery. It hurts, it makes me worry about baby (even though I've googled extensively and confirmed not a real thing), and it keeps me at constant risk of peeing my pants!
@charhar0820 Yesss to separate bedrooms. I am all in the moment we're empty nesters.
@roo_baby I still need to read Michelle Obama's book too! Also both of Sheryl Sandbergs books...I am really behind. My only tip for telling your boss would be to keep it positive -- you're excited, you're expecting s/he will be as well. It's good to verbally commit to doing everything you can to make the transition and coverage smooth, but you do NOT need to apologize for the "inconvenience" you'll cause (always my own first instinct).
@riatortillaxo We've binged Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, The Office, but still never done Brooklyn 99. I need to keep that on the list.
@tara4910 Unruffled, you say? Writing it down!
@mrswheeler812 Can't believe you've got movement already - too cool.
@kgrgreen I think I have a little extra pep in my step just from reading about your 2nd trimester glory So glad you're feeling so amazing!
@BusinessWife I understand the feeling. I slipped on the stairs a couple weeks back and it had me so unsettled. This is one time when I would call in the help of google to help calm what you know are unnecessary worries; it's got your back here - baby is fine and soon will be wiggling all around and refusing you all sleep.
@maelove I'm excited for you to find out the babies' sex! What is it about twins that makes this sort of reveal extra exciting? I feel like it's a "Puppy Surprise" toy for adults (do you remember those? I was obsessed.)
@gomillis Yes. Nothing like a day of "working" from home with kid to leave you feeling defeated. We just came off a week-long department meeting, and it was so frustrating to put in these 12 hour days of motivational speakers and team-building and networking and get all pumped up about my career, only to get home and realize I hadn't seen my kid at all and my home and personal life are falling apart. Fun times.
@rivercitynik Isn't Anna Sale's voice amazing? I could listen to her talk all day long. And I've actually been meaning to check out Forever35 for...well, forever! I was a big follower of Matt & Doree back in the day when I was trying to learn more about IVF, but I never followed her over to Forever35. Will now. I know exactly what you mean about a reading groove. I sometimes reach for frivolous 'chick lit' just because I know it'll get me back in the habit and lead to other things. Are you planning to take any classes or leaning toward any particular method for approaching unmedicated birth?

Baby is the size of a(n): CD
Upcoming appointments: Had an appt yesterday, got to hear the heartbeat again. We could hear baby moving around like crazy so OB wasn't surprised I've been feeling movement already. Next Appt in 4 weeks for AS and first u/s!!
How are you feeling? I have been SO tired the last couple days. I think I've been eating poorly, so I need to get back on track. Lots of Vday candy in our house from DD's school that I've been scrounging.
Raves/Rants: I got a call for an interview for a new job today! I've been really burnt out at my current job. This would be a pay decrease, but I'd be doing more of what I want to do. I'd also get off Fridays. The only issue is I'm going to have to be like "oh btw I'm pregnant! What's your leave policy..?" Haha, either way I'm excited for the opportunity.
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? Most recent book-Where the Crawdads Sing, I liked it! I listen to Armchair Expert on my commute daily. It's with Dax Shepard (any Parenthood fans out there?), he interviews other celebrities. It's pretty hilarious! (And free).
@roo_baby when I told my boss (aka my advisor) I literally went into her office and said "I have some news, can I close your door?"... very not graceful and I'm pretty sure she knew what I was going to say as soon as I said that lol
@ziggymama06 I'm sorry your MIL is making rude comments

Upcoming appointments: Had the NT scan today.. next appointment won't be until March 20 I have had basically an appointment every 2 weeks since about 6 weeks because of some early spotting... this will be the first time I have to go the full 4 week stretch without an appointment and I'm not sure how I'm going to do it without going crazy
How are you feeling? Pretty good... my symptoms have been mild so far. My only symptom has been fatigue and that has let up the past week or two. Hoping that means I will finally get my butt in gear to get back into a workout routine...
Raves/Rants:
Raves- The ultrasound was so awesome today. It looked like a real human baby! The last one at 8 weeks was just a blob but it's for sure a human now! And it was such a LONG ultrasound (like 40 minutes) cause baby would just NOT cooperate for the measurements. The u/s tech wanted baby to move just a little bit to get the measurement and baby ended up doing a 180 and giving us a view of the back instead. I tried walking around, jumping jacks, going to the bathroom, turning on my side, coughing, pushing on my belly... baby just wouldn't budge. It was just chilling there with its arms by its face without a care in the world
Questions:
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me )
I really like listening to the Birth Hour podcast. I'm not a big TV person, but I like The Good Place and This Is Us
How are you feeling? Fine. Still this annoying nose stuff though.
Raves/Rants: My kids have colds AGAIN, and this time, H got pretty sick, too. I love snow, but I'm really looking forward to winter being over. We had to miss church again. We've missed so many times this winter. Rave: It's looking like my second will be an early walker, which I am SO happy about.
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? Not really. I really like gymnastics, so I listen to
Gymcastic, and have sooooo many back ones to listen to. I also sometimes listen to Reality Steve because my guilty pleasure is the Bachelor shows. We don't watch much TV. I am currently reading Quickbooks for Dummies, haha, because H and I own our own business, and I'm trying to figure out what all functionality we may need and if we even need it at all yet.
@riatortillaxo, I nursed my first until halfway through 2nd tri. I'm still pumping for my second, not getting more than 5 oz a day, and I'm planning to quit pumping when she turns 1, which is at the end of the month! No, I've never done anything special with nutrition. Just my regular diet. I make sure to take my prenatals, and we eat quite a bit of dairy already, so I'm not super concerned about calcium.
@rivercitynik, when I've had headaches, I try to lie down with my eyes closed. I glug at least a full glass (what I use holds 14 oz) of water and then consistently keep sipping for awhile. I try to have a snack, particularly protein. Other than that, so far I've been able to just push through it.
@mrswheeler812, maybe? It's still hard to tell.
@mrswheeler812 @mrs_sheddy I've been feeling movement too.

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado
Upcoming appointments: I had one yesterday. Scheduled the anatomy scan for March 18!
How are you feeling? Good most days, but I’ve been having frequent headaches like many of you. Yesterday my doctor opened with “so, have you been having headaches?” before I even said anything - apparently it is very common between 14 and 18 weeks. She said it should get better after 18 weeks, hopefully that turns out to be true.
Raves/Rants: Rave: I’m so excited that next appointment is the anatomy scan already! Rant: see above re: headaches. Yesterday I had one all day.
Questions:
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me )
@ziggymama06 I have the bbhugme and it's a bit spendy, but I like the way it looks and I imagine I'll keep it on my bed long after I've had the baby bc it's so comfy and works great for when I want to be propped up and reading in bed.
@emiliadkay I love a good romance...some recent faves are anything by Christina Lauren, waiting for Tom hanks, and red, white, and royal blue. As far as how I'm going to prep for attempting an unmedicated birth, I've hired a doula and will attend four, 3-hour long classes her practice runs. I also think pre-natal yoga is helping me mentally and physically prepare, but I def am interested in what more I can be doing, so would love any tips people have!
@fitandnerdy I listened to the birth hour for the first time the other night when I woke up at 2am and couldn't get back to bed. Thanks for the reminder about the show!
@wildrainbow my heartburn is so bad right now! It's also way worse on days I fly (as well as the day after) so already dreading dealing with it later this week when I fly out west.
I always tried so hard to be unspoiled. I didn't start reading RS until Colton's season. (I started watching with Ben Flajnik's season). And then I got hooked! I watch it through totally new eyes now.
If you like behind the scenes stuff, have you read alltheprettypandas.com? It's Sharleen Joynt's (Juan Pablo's season) blog. She does recaps and points out a lot of manipulation behind the scenes - pointing out sloppy editing that reveals pieced-together conversations, interviews that supposedly happened right then that actually happened either earlier in the season or much later based on changing backgrounds/hair/makeup-outfits, or out-of-sequence rose giving. And of course, her perspective as former contestant. Very interesting! Totally worthwhile to read her whole archive.
And while I was googling to find that, a couple articles pointed out that it also may seem like it because Colton and Peter, two in a row, have both been on the younger end of Bachelors.
I think it's because of Instagram/social media. If you last long enough and are memorable enough now, you can become an E-list celeb and be an "influencer." And along with that, if you're memorable enough regardless of how long you last, you'll be asked to go on the spinoff shows Paradise or Winter/summer games, and then you'll be able to boost your following even more and get more famous. Back in the day, you might have gone on the show for something different or to travel, but it wasn't to try to boost your following and become an influencer. The stakes weren't as high.
tyrion_ please give Maryland your weather. The only reason I'm cool with winter is because it supposed to bring snow and I'm pretty sure I will not be getting my one big snow storm a year. So I will gladly take 80 degrees over this cold/snowless weather.

How are you feeling? These constant headaches are for the birds.

GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? (Yes, I'm hijacking this GTKY to build out my podcast queue and reading list. Kindly humor me ). I recently started to listen to "Give them LaLa with Randall. It's not bad. I typically listen to it on my morning drive since there is nothing good on the radio at 5:30am. I've also been meaning to listen to "Listen Hunnay with Jeannie Mai".
I'll finish catching up later this evening or tomorrow.

How are you feeling? Better now that the stomach bug/virus has passed. I slept terribly going into Monday (thanks insomnia) and felt like I was coming down with something. Then the puking started. I made it through the whole first trimester without getting sick, so I guess I had it coming.
Raves/Rants: Rave: I finally made it to barre class today after not going for over a week! I'm signed up to go again tomorrow and Friday. I have been so hit or miss with my attendance since my BFP; I used to go 3 days a week religiously. It's definitely my "me-time" and de-stress time during the work week, and the core work is probably going to be super helpful for labor/delivery. Rant: I have to use part of this vacation week to work on annual review reports for work. I don't really have time to do it during the work week (I drive to clients' homes for therapy, so there's zero down time in between appointments and I refuse to do work past 5pm) so I always end up writing some while I'm home this week. I wish I didn't have to take work home with me.

So when I was sick earlier this week I binged Cheer on Netflix. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was an easy 6 episode series to get sucked into while feeling crummy. Sometimes you just need something mindless and fun to watch.
@mrswheeler812 I've also been feeling a ton of movement and it's so weird! I had posterior placenta last time and I still didn't feel it until I was much further along, but they do say you feel it earlier with your second or more.
@mrs_sheddy it doesn't hurt to interview and see what happens! I wouldn't tell them about the pregnancy until after you have an offer and then I would negotiate for paid leave and job protection before accepting. I feel like it's better to change jobs now than after the baby's born and you are adjusting to a new sleep-deprived schedule.

How are you feeling? Better. Nausea and insomnia are gone- thankfully! The insomnia in particular was brutal. I’m off Diclegis and even Unisom now. Other than being more tired than normal, I feel pretty normal.
Raves/Rants: can’t think of anything!
Questions: I admit I’m extremely picky when it comes to baby/kid’s clothes. Now that I know jm
having a boy, I’m been trying to bond more/get excited by picking out a few cute outfits. I’m not into dinosaurs, bears, loud stripes, cars, the usual gendered boy things. Where should I be shopping? The only stuff I’ve found that I like is Janie and Jack, and that’s pretty pricey. Girl clothes are just so much cuter!
GTKY: Have you read, watched or listened to anything particularly good recently? LOVE Schitt’s Creek! I’m also almost done with season one of “You” on Netflix- I keep hearing how good season two is, so I’m plugging through. As far as podcasts, I love “The Girl Next Door” and “The Mom Hour.”
